3090 was fine on linux
nvidia likes to break drivers for games or otherwise on both windows and linux so just stick to a known stable one for a while until you really need the updoot
It runs most games well enough, so it's fine if you actually want to use Linux or if you just don't want to use Windows. >but I like Windows and I have no desire to learn Linux
Then stop asking dumb questions and stay on Windows where you're happy. There is absolutely no reason ever to think about Linux gaming for even a millisecond unless you actually want to use Linux as your desktop operating system for general computing tasks. The point of Linux gaming is not having to reboot back to Windows every single time you want to have fun, so if you're not going to use Linux for non-gaming purposes then there's literally no reason to use it for games.
depends on what you want to play.
most games run fine on linux, some might require some tweaking.
But lots of live service games with kernel level spyware anticheat wont run.
Yes, it's fine, but you have to be prepared to frick around, depending on your needs. Some games have requent/seasonal breaking updates and you just have to live with it or maybe dual boot. Games with kernel level anti-cheat usually need specific workarounds if they work at all; I know there's a Proton Easy Anticheat for stuff like Apex Legends. So there are solutions, at least.
I've been playing Kingdom Hearts and the easiest way to get the games to run is to just forget about the movie cutscenes and disable them because they apparently need some proprietary media libraries.

I just want to play civ, silksong whenever it comes out and fighting games in fightcade
yea its fine for games
elden bingus unlocked framerate at 4k makes my gpu sweat its the reference model, designed to reach that temperature as its peak alongside max power usage, hence 100% utilization
For basically 90 percent of everything yeah its fine.
That last 10 percent is a b***h though. Usually anti cheat crap youre better off without though. But still a b***h. Worlds better than apple and consoles though but thats not a high bar.
For purely gaming its the 2nd best possible option aside from wangblows.
yes, sure
frick off we are full, stay on windows homosexual
Full of shit
if you like obscure (and some cases just old) games and modding, no
If you know how to use wine cmd you can mod everything
a lot of scripting for morrowind doesnt work for example, and im not here to be a hobbyist about an os im here to play video games
Im not telling you to use it though, no need to get so defensive
>obscure game
Like what?
JC Fight
Seems obscure alright, never heard about it
una vela
Good enough for whom?
Only with an AMD GPU, Nvidia driver sucks.

Yes, but the truth is wintoddlers still keep finding excuses to keep delaying because they're just moronic and don't want to change.
