I feel like MARS belongs in the MISTer thread. We dont need a dedicated mister thread and a dedicared mars thread, they're very related
Also not much to talk about. I hope it's as great as promised. I wont be an early adopter, but I am optimistic
I was pretty hesitant on mister, only 1080p out, lot of diy to it. MARS is really what got me at all interested in the space. Buy it, load games, play games that's it.
Ideally the future™ FPGA platform would have (all things a Raspberry Pi has btw): >4K output (check) >a power switch (check) >no micro USB (check) >not requiring buying extra RAM (check) >not being reliant on buying accessory boards (check) >not being reliant on silicon lotteries (pending) >built-in bluetooth (check) >built-in wifi (no) >be smaller (no) >be cheaper (lolno)
MARS isn't a straight upgrade. They need to prove the extra power is worth costing as much as an midrange PC. The problem is that affordable FPGA boards basically haven't progressed in the last 6 years.
no idea what this is and honestly can't be bothered googling around for what mars is
It's a red planet, demons come from there.
this Mars thing is some kinda pre-assemebled commercial FPGA platform.
So the Analogue pocket but it can only be used at home?
Play any system you want without hand cramps and a tiny screen.
I can already do that by docking the Pocket
yeah pretty much. Though I don't think this thing takes catridges, so you just load ROMs onto it.
It just seems like mister but better so I would expect it to be more popular in the long run. Probably will take some time to get there
no one gives a frick, shill.

700 for all consoles, a 4k scaler, they keep scooping up notable people like Mike Chi too. This is cheaper than flashcarts and RGB mods.
MARS thread is an opportunity to have a civil MiSTer thread for once, usual trolls are less likely to jump into a MARS thread.
Lol, of course I'm immediately proven wrong.

More emulation box shilling threads?
I ordered a mister recently but might get a mars five years from now when it matures
According to them, they're porting all existing mister cores to be ready at launch.

Where are you getting your information?
not him but probably a red planet
I will not be buying any FPGA device which does not support 240p composite+component out of the box.
>named after a planet
Yet another Sega console that will never release?
