>cringefest
it's not
“It's not the sum of our parts, it's the sum of our hearts”
That was actually a good piece of writing
>KH is... le bad
>"Why?"
> >:(
>le
2010 reddit is thatta way
>anon reveals he doesn't know this originated on Ganker
ragefaces yes, 'le' no, it's used ironically today because reddit stole rage faces and used it with all the comics they 'made'.
On top of that, every pretentious gay who likes to shit on KH because its a low hanging fruit always talks about the story, never about the gameplay. I thought Ganker actually cared about games?
>>"Why?"
I literally just explained why dumb frick.
At least you had the courtesy to use an appropriate avatar.
It is, though. There is no gritty realism in Kingdom Hearts making it a gay man's fantasy.
So you agree? You think gritty if Nomura made his own gritty realism game with peak Nomura sincerity in the form of his own political opinions and comments on society because he wanted nothing but his own gritty realism in his magnum opus known as Versus 13? If so then based
>it's not
it is
see how easy it is?
>it is
it's not
it's literally the worst written piece of media ever made.
I can think of worse, like most Rooster Teeth works.
It's probably the most embarrassing and awful shit I've every seen.
On every level, kingdom hearts is fricking atrocious, especially on a writing level. Everything is pointless vague to pretend to be deep. It's shallow, it's themes are literally "light vs dark" or "positive vs negative". The good guys say "good things are better than bad things" and the other side says "nyahahaha bad things are GOOD because I'm tragic and bad things happened."
It is interesting how the writers managed to stretch this pedantic insult to writing out across so many games and give it so many events that never once go any deeper than the surface. They stretch this little puddle out but it still just wets the bottom of your feet.
The interactions are so fricking awkward and stilted, not a single character acts like a sentient being, just programmed automatons who have to calculate their response. Everything is like it's put through an AI generator.
If you don't understand what the light and the dark represent in KH (hint: its not binary morality) then I'm sorry. Its tragic some are doomed to wallow in their own intellectual and spiritual mediocrity. Learn to forget yourself and listen to others.
Half the story in every KH game is told through visuals. All the main games are self contained stories. Start with some symbology first and make your way up. Maybe start with Nabokov's Sign and Symbols as a way to begin making sense of KH.
>All the main games are self contained stories
Come on mate, I love the games, but you know just as well as I do that they are all interconnected. This ain't final fantasy where its a new world, cast and dynamics every game.
>(hint: its not binary morality)
Yes it fricking is. The series trying to shoehorn Taoist philosophy doesn't change that.
>If you don't understand what the light and the dark represent in KH
Dumb fricking Black person a baby can understand KH's representation of light and dark, it's not any deeper than the literal fricking definition of light and dark.
Being thrown into the sun isn't good just because it's light.
Being alone in the dark isn't gunna hurt you.
Yeah no shit, every other fictional universe in the entire world does this light/dark duality shit only KH ONLY does light and dark and it's most base, elementary, baby tier understanding and thinks it's blowing your fricking mind. It's like watching the writers noisily suck themselves off, it's disgustingly juvenile which I have no problem with normally, but KH acts like it's some kind of whimsical philosophical shit. I cannot stand this fricking series.
I doubt the creator of kingdom hearts, who wanted to be a fashion designer when he left college but couldn't make it in that industry and had to settle for a low level video game job, is that self aware or clever,
What are you? 12?
Please grow up
KH has ruined your brain so much that you can't actually produce a proper sentence. Consider ending your life.
Austistic screeching is not an argument, moron-sama.
Nope he's completely earnest about Kingdom Hearts and that's what's great about it
Then why did he pretend that someone else writes the story until 3?
Because someone else did at first. That's why Days to 3 have the absolute worst stories in the series that everyone, even hardcore fans, makes fun of.
Based. Every piece of media ever should be earnest. This kills the irony poisoned Ameritard that likes Forspoken.
>cringefest
instant que that someone is a complete gay
No, it's a completely legitimate complaint. If someone says something completely fricking embarrassing it's cringeworthy no matter how you spin it.
No. Not a hint of irony. Nomura just thinks shonenshit is the supreme form of writing. Stopped growing mentally at age 15, probably. Would explain why he also dresses like an edgy teen even though he's nearing fifty.
I think he honestly believes he had done a good job handling the themes of "heart" and "darkness" given to him.
I hope D*sney buy the shit out of them just to make /misc/cucks and the Squeenix manchildren playerbase Jonestown themselves hard altogether.
Based. I want to see Final Fantasy and KH being run into the ground ASAP.
Disney already owns the KH IP (outside of FF and TWEWY characters, of course; well, and Tarzan)
>ye bro kh is a cringefest fr fr no cap bro
18+ site
/khg/ gays seething
Reddit
>writing
Isn't he just a character designer?
wholesome childish fun isnt cringe
grow up and learn to enjoy fun things for being fun
Even the kids cringe at KH.
>originally focused more on the gameplay with a simple story to appeal to Disney's target age range
Kingdom Hearts is not for children as in 1-12 year olds
>Kingdom Hearts is deep and mature series for teenagers and above
Said no one ever
I didn't say it was "deep and mature", I said that it's relatively more complex than typical Disney fare for babies, which is true.
I appreciate the games upbeat attitude
but where's the gore and cynicism?
What's worse to you? Someone being "fake and ironic," for something or someone who is "genuinely cringe," for something?
It's ok to hate both. You don't have to choose.
You're smarter than a cave man, act like it.
imagine how much less compelling sora would be as a character if he was written in a self-aware manner
all of his earnest good-hearted nature thrown down the drain in exchange for boring old irony
kingdom hearts would be so much worse if it was written ironically
it would be YIIK
The beloved masterpiece
Nomura is completely sincere. That's what makes KH special.
XVI lost
Kids: Kino
Teenagers: Cringe
Adults: Cringekino
He's literally an autistic deviantart kid given a huge budget to make the bizarre crossovers reality
Even ignored all the other shit
KH can't even do Disney right. It hasn't felt like KH has had any sort of passion or love for Disney since KH2 and it's mostly just shit retellings of the movies or side stories that don't mean shit.
And don't you fricking show me that Woody picture, the story world was Pixar phoning it in and didn't even have a canon location outside of Andy's house.
And the scene in question was shit too
Woody's voice acting sounds fricking bored and lifeless here, and he really shouldn't be th one giving this speech. Sora should, he's the one who's been dealing with this shit for four games at that point.
It's not a total cringefest. Unfortunately most the sincere moments are drowned out by Disney executive meddling. They want more Disney IP instead of OC, but OC thematic storytelling is just better because... it-it comes from the heart, ok!
I honestly can't even tell what part is Disney's meddling, Nomura's shit writing, Square Enix's incompentence, anymore
>OC thematic storytelling is just better because... it-it comes from the heart, ok!
This, but unironically.
Just like Kingdom Hearts itself.
I love Kingdom Hearts. It's the ultimate hylic test.
>villain tries to murder everyone to attain absolute power and become a god through some kind of weird ritual involving people's hearts or something
>he finally gets defeated at the end
>"jk sorry about that guys"
>he's instantly forgiven by EVERYONE and gets to go to gay heaven with his lover
This is why JRPGs and anime games deserve the rope.
Please don't lump every JRPG in with squeenix bullshit. Square enix literally only survives based on brand loyalty.
>my anime game about teenagers killing god and saving the day with love and friendship is much more nuanced than.... the exact same thing but with Squeenix's brand name on the front
Okay, nevermind, you're too childish to put half an ass worth of thought into anything. I'm sorry for asking so much of you.
