its the game gays pretend to love but no one plays and it's only the worst parts taken from other games. shitty wiggle back n forth SF neutral, but stupid ass long anime combos into endless oki loops. just layer on some convoluted Grid/meter mechanic for a unique flavor!
it's funny too see posts like this like we didn't have tournament players showing up in the threads also. newbies really can't accept being newbies, lurk for 2 years before posting.
i mean I kinda understand what you're getting at but fighting game tournaments are open entry. it's not like it's special that you're a tournament player as legitimately anyone can enter. I've entered UFGT and CB for years and gone to EVO but so what I'm dog shit.
>Is the new game fun?
I played the demo and it's the exact same game as the previous one, just with a couple new characters.
There was also close to no newbies in the demo, meaning you WILL get your ass handed to you by neckbeards with +500h gameplay and you WILL like it, that is if you happen to find said neckbeards because barely anyone plays the game.
Because you got lucky.
All my matches were against dudes that clearly knew what they where doing and you don't get to that level by playing a demo for 3 days
I'd rather run into those guys.
Seems like the problem here is that there was no real matchmaking in the demo and everyone was matched with everyone else regardless of skill level.
There are no airdashes in this game > Game needs a super jump and double jump too
No it doesn't. The point of the game is that is a "grounded" anime fighter.
If you want that bullshit you should go play blazblue or melty
Not really because you can do it instantly off the ground. If you're actually doing by jumping then assault, you're just asking to be anti-air'd and killed.
>air assault let's you dash in the air >somehow not an airdash
Whether using it like that is a good idea or not is irrelevant.
Not really because you can do it instantly off the ground. If you're actually doing by jumping then assault, you're just asking to be anti-air'd and killed.
I don't know why I can't pick a character in this game. The things I like just don't seem to exist/I can't identify what I would like to do in this game. Maybe I'll challenge myself to learn a character like Seth or something.
The good ol' reliable in this kind of games is picking whoever makes your dick the hardest.
I play phonon because she can hit you from literally anywhere on the screen and her BnBs are very easy.
The new soundtrack sucks ass though.
They added a bunch of unnecesary shit to all the songs and they sound horrible.
The only one that was mostly unchanged was phonon's
No. It's not worth it. It's an autism fighting, you need at least one-hundred hours of [Training Mode] to even stand a chance against the average player. There are a lot of bloated mechanics like the GRD system which is the most overly complicated fighting game mechanics I have ever experience on top of some of the character also having complicated mechanics that are exclusive to just them. This series wanted to be Blazblue and it failed miserably while Blazblue on the other hand is one of the best fighting games out there without a bunch of bloated mechanics while still offering that high level challenge of traditional fighting game.
If you're new to fighting games stay away from this one unless you have the mindset of always wanting to be dominated by some smelly autistic basement gamer. The rest Arc System Works catalog allows new players to feel at home and even catch up to veteran players with almost zero effort. UNI2 is a bathroom game for and special kind of fighting game enjoyer that most of the FGC is not. If they remove the bloat from the GRD and the characters, maybe add universal 22 input DPs to fix the input buffer problem, change the D into a Special Move Button like modern games and set the hop to 6+Two Buttons, I think this series could go somewhere. But as it stands it's just not for most players and will never be a successful franchise until it's creator get on the same page as Arc System Works.
It's more that you call people basement dwelling autists for playing it because you'll find those types of players in most niche anime fighters (including Blazblue) and the other argument about it being more complex than Blazblue is probably what most people will call you out for since it has way less system mechanics and character-specific mechanics than Blazblue.
>you call people basement dwelling autists for playing it
Who else is playing games like uni kofxiii tekkentag2 3rdstrikeggpo and the rest? these games are for sweaty players
> you call people basement dwelling autists for playing it
they are though.
The Ganker lobbies are always very late at night so only jobless neets play there.
Mostly. I start playing Blazblue Central Fiction about 3 weeks ago. It's a lot easier to understand compared to Under Night, it doesn't have anything as bloated at the GRD system. There's no meter I have to "win" to win the turn.
You think "GRD" is bloated because it's the one mechanic that's constantly present and active in a match. Blazblue has the damage bonus from GRD in the form of Active Flow anyway, GRD just put Rapid Cancels into Vorpal too. Damn, I remember when CP came out and people were b***hing about Overdrive being unnecessary in a game with like 30+ characters that all have unique bullshit to play around. Then they added GCOD in Extend. Then they added AF and EA in CF for some reason. And they took out Jump Cancel Overdrive when that was a funny thing you could do.
The GRD system feels like an passive X-Factor. Not in the literal sense, I mean it's something you don't want to deal with. It allows people to turn their brains off while they have it on Standby. And once they have it there's basically nothing you can do.
>I don't even have 100 hours
That is still a lot of playing experience
A match is 99s, assuming you use up all the timer, that would be 3635 matches. Even if you didn't spend those 100h actually fighting, you have played at the very least 2000 fights. That's a shitton.
Are you okay with discord fighters?
the "new game" is basically a version update for the current game.
UNI is fun if you like anime fighting games and don't want to put up with guilty queers
Only CLR is relevant story wise, there's absolutely 0 reason to play UNIB or UNIST. The story itself isn't even that good
And yes, sys celes seems to be more of the same which ain't that bad
its the game gays pretend to love but no one plays and it's only the worst parts taken from other games. shitty wiggle back n forth SF neutral, but stupid ass long anime combos into endless oki loops. just layer on some convoluted Grid/meter mechanic for a unique flavor!
>no one plays
>he says this while on Ganker
>the board that would hold a weekly thread about it
post a lobby then
>delay netcode
sorry man xrd has rollback, just wait for uni2 and the lobbies will come back
>weekly
son, we played UNIST every weeknight. five nights a week, not just one.
>muh sekrit club
>15 players at best
>at 3am
thanks for proving my point.
No one plays this game.
it's funny too see posts like this like we didn't have tournament players showing up in the threads also. newbies really can't accept being newbies, lurk for 2 years before posting.
>we got this """"""""pro player"""""""""""", that means were not just 15 neets at 3 am!!!!!
lmao, also
>newbie
stop projecting
Redblade? Does he still play? Wagner technically is stronger now
i mean I kinda understand what you're getting at but fighting game tournaments are open entry. it's not like it's special that you're a tournament player as legitimately anyone can enter. I've entered UFGT and CB for years and gone to EVO but so what I'm dog shit.
why would you out yourself as a newbie lmao, this is the one game Ganker actually fricking played for years.
It's the baby of Marvel and Guilty Gear with air combos and complexity of both stripped out for more anime cliches and better music.
>Is the new game fun?
I played the demo and it's the exact same game as the previous one, just with a couple new characters.

Then why were 90% of the people I ran into shitters that didn't know how to play?
Because you got lucky.
All my matches were against dudes that clearly knew what they where doing and you don't get to that level by playing a demo for 3 days
I'd rather run into those guys.
Seems like the problem here is that there was no real matchmaking in the demo and everyone was matched with everyone else regardless of skill level.
It's fun but it's also almost the exact same game as the prior one.
its fun but worth playing?
maybe if you have a decently sized fighting game friend group.
Why is the airdash so bad tho? Game needs a super jump and double jump too before I will play it
There are no airdashes in this game
> Game needs a super jump and double jump too
No it doesn't. The point of the game is that is a "grounded" anime fighter.

Assault is an airdash under a different name.
It's a hop
>air assault let's you dash in the air
>somehow not an airdash
Whether using it like that is a good idea or not is irrelevant.
You can use a gun to hit people and that doesn't make it a club now does it
lemme paint you a picture
Not really because you can do it instantly off the ground. If you're actually doing by jumping then assault, you're just asking to be anti-air'd and killed.
would you consider KOF to be an airdasher just because it has a short hop
I don't know why I can't pick a character in this game. The things I like just don't seem to exist/I can't identify what I would like to do in this game. Maybe I'll challenge myself to learn a character like Seth or something.
The good ol' reliable in this kind of games is picking whoever makes your dick the hardest.
I play phonon because she can hit you from literally anywhere on the screen and her BnBs are very easy.
no, i'm just gonna listen to the soundtrack for the next 10 years instead
based, I'll throw it into my fighting game soundtrack playlist while I play granblue
The new soundtrack sucks ass though.
They added a bunch of unnecesary shit to all the songs and they sound horrible.
The only one that was mostly unchanged was phonon's
You can jump in at the latest entry and not be worried about the story if that's what you mean.
New game's beta was fun so I have good hopes for the full release.

Is this some sort of elaborate bait
Is this how you always react to someone stating their opinion about your game? Game is not for me, why does that piss you off so much?
It's more that you call people basement dwelling autists for playing it because you'll find those types of players in most niche anime fighters (including Blazblue) and the other argument about it being more complex than Blazblue is probably what most people will call you out for since it has way less system mechanics and character-specific mechanics than Blazblue.

>a game with more universal systems is more bloated than a game where nearly every character has some gimmick/extra bars on the screen
Nice pasta
>all games should just be the same game
strive troonys need the fricking rope my god
>Blazblue
>Without a bunch of bloated mechanics
I can only assume you're talking about Cross Tag Battle with this statement
Mostly. I start playing Blazblue Central Fiction about 3 weeks ago. It's a lot easier to understand compared to Under Night, it doesn't have anything as bloated at the GRD system. There's no meter I have to "win" to win the turn.
Active Flow fits the description of "bloat" much better than GRD.

I don't even have 100 hours in UNI total and I must have won 80% of the matches in the beta.
>I don't even have 100 hours

I said I don't have 100 hours, not that I do.
50h would still be +1k fights of experience not counting whatever experience you have with other fighting games
it's the last true anime fighter
