I played it and it was ok, not worth buying though.
The gameplay is kinda interesting at first but it drags on over time. A lot of animations and delays in gameplay are just way too slow, so the game becomes very dragged out. When I played for a 2nd time I used cheat engine to double the game's speed, and some parts of the game still felt too slow. There's a lot of padding that makes the game drag on too. The art and animations are nice, but once you've seen them a few times you'll feel like they just drag out the game. The RPG combat is also too easy and a lot simpler than it first feels like it'd be.
To give it credit though I actually really liked the surreal aspects of the game, and despite seeing a lot of discussion about this game I had no idea that this game had legitimate horror elements. I was expecting "Yume Nikki" styled surreal horror, but there are legitimate jump scares in the game. I know jump scares are considered typically bad, but they're actually pulled off very well in this game and have a lot more tact for the most part.
Most people who like this game like it for the story and the character interactions, so if you're looking for something like that then you'd probably enjoy it. I personally found the story and characters to be kind of lackluster after playing a lot of other RPG maker games with strong stories, but if you aren't familiar with them then you might find it interesting. I actually found the characters kind of lame which I didn't like, but the Omori route was very interesting for its surreal aspects so I liked it a lot more. I'm definitely in a minority when it comes to this aspect though.
>I personally found the story and characters to be kind of lackluster after playing a lot of other RPG maker games with strong stories
could you name a few? i'd like to check them out
I've been binging on the Towelket games recently and I can't recommend them enough. As someone who has gotten tired of predictable game stories and cliches, Towelket games are off the rails enough to be unpredictable while still managing serious thought provoking stories.
That said the quality of Towelket games is kind of all over the place. If you're looking for a strong story maybe start with Towelket 2 or 1 first. They have very strong and creative stories for how old they are. I like Towelket 3 but it's more of a goofy RPG adventure than a strong story game. The later modern games start delving into legitimately insane story telling with completely unique ideas I've never seen before and is only underappreciated because of how obscure the games are (And because there's no English translation yet).
The games aren't really connected at all so you can do them in pretty much whatever order you want. 2 is just the oldest game with a strong story.
very fricking long and a good chunk of it is filler BUT it has gems in the rough here and there and especially at the ending
if you even somewhat dislike rpgmaker combat then dont get it because its like 20-30 fricking hours long
youll either drop it in 2 hours or it will give you brainrot to months on end
If you're struggling enough that $20 is significant then no. Otherwise, why not? It's immersive, a solid story that can be long or short depending on your choices, good music, and emotionally satisfying. It can definitely leave an impact if you go into it unspoiled.
I played it a couple months ago and put 60 hours into it between two playthroughs. It’s one of those kino games you randomly start thinking about months after you finish it. If you can get it on console do it because it has bonus content.
eh, get it on sale, the RPG aspects are fine for a while but it eventually becomes repetitive and there's too much filler between the story progression of each chapter you might get bored of it, also the plot twist is pretty fricking dumb
Yeah, great game. Main complaints are that taking the bad route changes almost nothing for like 80% of the game, and that there's not a huge incentive to change your combat strategy throughout
If you really feel bad about not giving Omocat some cash buy a shirt on Black Friday or something, or buy the seinen manga adaptation that just got announced
Considering the game was supposed to be a webcomic before they picked RPGM this is probably somebody from the team using a pen name and bringing it full circle
The pacing of the game is simply horrible and just like someone else metioned, there's a lot of filler. Be warned. But if you can digest that, you should have just a fine experience.
yes
No, of course not.

TL;DR: If you have to ask, go pirate it instead.

if you have to ask about affording $20 then you deserve to pirate it

>female perspective on male incels
I assume she gets it entirely wrong
its not about incels at all hes just a shut in
the game has nothing to do with incels, at all
There's always a fricking schizo derailing these threads, if not the Barneygay bot is a chud falseflaging and is always so funny to watch
THERE HE IS LMAO

if you care about dev politics she used to be (and still probably is) a massive shotacon and refuses to apologize for her tweets from 10 years ago
>dev politics
kek
well this boards is filled with giant gays i figures some of them would care about that
She's apologized for those twice now, twitter kids just don't care about apologies
The first time she apologized outright, the second time it was a polite "pls move on" apology
If you're a girl or vtuber, sure
