Arguably the best river king. Savor it, because it's the top of the hill and we probably won't get another. The DS one has hackneyed touch controls. This one is just pure rpg fishing goodness.
I didn't like it as much as the GB ones but I'm planning on giving it another shot.
Also OP if you want a really good fishing game for PS2 I recommend Reel Fishing 3
it looks bad from the footage i've seen. no skybox, barely any music, horrible graphical interpretation and overall presentation. It looks like there was one guy working on it for about a week. Play the gameboy ones or check out natsume's other games if this one ends up sucking
for the same reason music is important. general aesthetic presentation and overall feel of the game helps to make it feel like you're fishing (you're not actually fishing)
>and overall feel of the game helps to make it feel like you're fishing
I get aesthetic presentation but a skybox is not going to add to the experience lmao.
yeah, wait until there's a cutscene and there's just a black sky over the horizon. very immersive bro. not sure why you'd defend this obviously rushed project, Natsume has made plenty of excellent games. It says something when the gameboy game looks better than your PS2 game. They eventually released Real Fishing III on ps2 and it's a fantastic game. They actually put a lot of love into that one, and it doesn't even need to use that much 3d. I think they were just out of their element with OP's game, or they squirted it out in a crunch. It's no Boku No Natsuyami
>Real Fishing III on ps2 >They actually put a lot of love into that one
Disagree, since they didn't even care to support either of the official Sony fishing rods produced by ASCII, whereas Reel Fishing II (previous game on the PSX) fully supports both the PSX and the PS2 rod controllers.
Reel Fishing is the comfiest, most chill fishing game series ever, but if you wanna play with the rod (half the fun honestly) you need either a PSX with Reel Fishing II and either of the ASCII controllers or the Dreamcast with it's fishing rod and Reel Fishing Wild.
Reel Fishing III is a clusterfrick, and I should know, I've tried hacking in the support for the rod and gave up halfway through with only achieving basic controls since it has no correct mappings for it and needs to be set to regular DualShock inputs.
Frick Reel Fishing III, frick the old man, frick the cabin. Dog was cute tho.
I'm sure it's fine.

Maybe?

Looks like a kusoge
I wouldn't know
ok
But I would like to know, it seems interesting
let me know if you like it 🙂
No I want someone else to play it first and then tell ME if they liked it
i liked it
It's cute, takes a while to catch a fish though
Play it and let us know.
As someone who enjoys fishing how is it compared to stuff like Rappala or Bassmaster or Segas Arcades?
Never played it but it looks closer to Harvest Moon rather than an Arcade game
what the frick I thought only the GB ones were localized

My favorite part of playing this was the screeching of how loud the cicadas are in the marsh area with no music to drown it out
I expected it to be a budget title, but yeah, wow, this looks much worse than I would have anticipated.
I only played the Famicom game
Looks comfy
