If you want game discussion you are unironically better going to Reddit. Reddit has its own problems like how a lot of the time you can't say something is bad before the ravenous defenders come in to shit on you for saying otherwise. Otherwise, you can atleast discuss the game[s] system or story or gameplay or whatever.
On Ganker you get more "unscripted" opinions like "this game sucks" "this games journalist is a cuck" etc, which can be refreshing in its own right, but most game discussion boils down to: literally nothing if you try and talk about a game Ganker doesn't like (Halo for example), or endless shit flinging back and forth about whatever stupid ass opinion one anon has or another, coupled with soiboy and wojack posts ad naseum. Ganker specific threads can also be good for game discussion. You don't come to Ganker to discuss games or game news, you come here to have a laugh and shitpost
I disagree. I've had plenty of quality discussion here and the mindset of "come to shitpost" is a self-fulfilling endeavor if you take that to heart.
I find I get what I put in. If I make quality posts, I tend to get quality discussions.
Agreed, I've found that more to be the case as well. Not 100% of the time of course but certainly better than just posting some shit bait and expecting others to pick it up.

Even with all of the morons who treat Ganker like a shitposting board and some other boards having gone to absolute shit, Ganker is still the only place with genuine discussion about anything. Depending on the topic/game, it's a needle in a shitstack, but threads about niche games are often pretty nice, and whatever the FOTM is gets solid discussion with shitposting inbetween.
Also PBS was a neat game. I wish its particular shooting and mobility mechanics would be realized in more games.
