No. Also delete those shitty companions they added.

It's a competently made infinity engine game, but insulting to fans of the series. They should have made it unrelated to Baldur's Gate.

Why is it called Dragonspear? Did the dragon wield a spear? That's pretty weird. I didn't think dragons could wield weapons made for humans. Or was the spear MADE by a dragon? Even more weird.

Absolutely not, not even worth pirating. Beamdog would have to pay me to play that inane shit again

Don't listen to /misc/cucks. They are triggered over the game because of pic related.

Was a mistake to place between the games. It fricks up the pacing (and balance of 2 by starting you off way higher level than you should be).
    Otherwise it is good.

I only did one run and I dont recall caring for it too much, if its on sale maybe
I remember mostly being pissed off about some guy stealing my gold or something

It is pretty dumb. You just need to know that you have to spend all your gold at the beginning. Which you'd only know by playing already.

Political agendas aside it's pretty forgettable it tries to bride the first and second game and it does a ok-ish job if you are starving for bg content give a go

Should I play BG 1 before the second part? Everyone says that BG2 is better in every way.

you might miss a few plat points but you could just have someone tl;dr it if you dont wanna go on a low lvl adventure
I think you might miss out on stat tomes gameplay wise but they aren't needed

BG1 is bearly a game, you spend 99% of it wondering around the maps and clearing them.

      >BG2 is better in every way
This isn't true, but they are just different enough that you can't predict whether or not you'll like BG2 based on how you liked BG1. (And you don't need to play BG1 to appreciate BG2)

      Only plebs say that.
BG1 and BG2 represent two different eras of western RPGs with conflicting priorities.
BG1 was the swansong of the era of crpgs that focused on pure combat, exploration, and simulation. Games like Darklands, Fallout, Realms of Arkania, and Ultima belong to this era.
BG2 marked the beginning of the modern era where western RPGs focus more on companion and scripted story homosexualry at the expense of gameplay and immersion. It's when modern Bioware was born.

Most of the CRPG renaissance has leaned closer to BG2's reinterpretation of RPGs than BG1's more faithful tabletop-like interpretation, with Divinity: Original Sin and Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire being the two big exceptions in my mind.
