How do you play it correctly?
destroy parts on yokai as much as possible
yokai abilities to deplete max ki
zero ki combos
don't farm or grind
basically try to use the full moveset. there's some more advanced tech like item cancel but you don't have to worry about those for a casual run through
Completing sets for a build is so satisfying but so is the combat. There's too many ways to play this game. My problem is I'm on DotW and use kusa + tonfa with a corruption build exclusively. I'd like to learn katana but feel like I'm just too deep in the tonfa hole. Stacking versatility by flowing through combos and perfect pulsing from one stance to another fries my dopamine receptors. Might just go and finish underworld then start a new character with katana/spear combo

Outside of TN's nioh like catalog, is there a series that does actually feel like ACTION Rpg? Not souls I mean
if there is one i'm not familiar with it, nioh is really the only thing that scratches that itch effectively and is also difficult enough that you don't break it in half by being good at both the action and the rpg parts

I've been playing rise of ronin. It's like a hybrid of nioh and wo long, uses parry and stance switches but only one attack button. You do hold inputs and direction inputs for your moves. More stances that you unlock and interchange as you please but they're all less fleshed out than nioh.
You can just chain combos together without worrying about builds. You'd know that if you actually played it
on ng+ i was switching weapon types every mission to keep it fresh and unlock every move.
on dotw it might be hard to survive like that. maybe keep ninjutsu in the back pocket and abuse feather cancel or something

It's ok, but every boss/enemy is mostly the same and very basic, so it gets boring quickly
It's probably the best action game I've ever played.
Like, I love Bloodborne and DMC but the amount of shit your character can do, the different stances and how different all the enemies feel is just peak.
One of my top 5 games ever. Mechanically the game is just fantastic, The first half of the game is way harder than any souls game
