For your consideration, the Astral Lounge was supposed to be the biggest most famous club in Neon, and even known outside of Neon.
it's a small chamber with a few morons doing a modern art display. Literally a little dive bar in Night City is larger than this famous "club"
all because Gamebryo is such an antique piece of shit engine it can't handle large spaces.
The Hive bar in Cyberpunk looks 100x better than this, I’ve never seen the place in your webm but I’m guessing it’s just a small optional one that they didn’t put any effort into. The point is the Hive is the main club in Cyberpunk and the Astral Lounge is the main (only) club in Starfield and the comparison is embarrassing
I thought that the Hitman 3 Germany level did the super crowded club thing well. There's a proper system for pushing your way through crowds, and a mechanical incentive for blending into crows which helps sell it.
More to your point but I've never played a game whose ambitions where thwarted by technical failures to the point that Starfield is. Atlantis is ridiculously small despite being the center of an interplanetary empire. Neon is quite literally a street with 5 shops in it but everybody talks about like it's Space Hong-Kong. You can revisit the exact same facility on two different planets within 5 hours of game-time because they didn't have nearly enough assets for procedural generation.
Even when they have enough assets to make procedural generation work it's wasted on boring animal archetypes that all fall within behaviours you get out of a cow or a wolf: You see an outlandish land octopus and it just runs at you to try and wack you like an angry moose. I have the intuition that they wanted to do more with the cities but Todd and the rest of the gang of droolers who took control of Bethesda since Fallout 3 insisted that the planets had to be fully explorable, that the game was about exploring, terra incognita and so on. (it is also insanely funny that the lodge has a model of Cousteau's Calypso when you can't even put your head underwater.)
Starfield is the logical conclusion of a studio that was never particularly good at anything discovering that going wider and wider isn't actually compensating for that lack of skill.
Congrats on watching steam reviews every day until this happened. It does deserve bad marks for being such a half baked sack of crap, but can you stop making these threads now?
sir starfield is impressiv if you been living under a rock for the last decade the rpg part feels obsolet, sir, compared to cyberpunk and baldurs gate 3 (and even some of bethesdas own games), and the "space game" part is an illusion, sir, and not even a very good one. if starfields "space gameplay," sir, was a mod for fallout 4 id be impressed, sir, but this is a brand new allegedly "next-gen" space exploration game that is hell-bent to make exploration bland and unimpressive as possible.
i called out starfield, sir, the day that expo video came out showin off the game and said it was not a real space game, sir, and that space travel was just gonna be a map screen and a bunch of smoke and mirrors and thered be a space combat minigame. and i was 100% on the money, sir. planets are just procedurally generated 1km fishbowl experiences, sir, and the game cant even save more than 5 landing spots in memory per planet before it starts pruning them. everything bout planets is arbitrary, sir, except the handful that have an actual developer-made point of interest like a city or town, sir, and even those feel dodgy and underdeveloped.
and that's just the space game part that starfield fails at, sir. the story is bland and borin with no real sense of intrigue or urgency, sir. there is no way to truly play as an evil character, sir. there are no evil followers, sir. everyone has the same brand of morality, sir, and all named npcs are essential to make sure you can only play the game the "correct" way, sir. the reviewers made a huge deal outta new game plus, sir, but what is even the point of starting the game over? you can just look up all the alternate universe easter eggs online, sir, and none of em actually matter, sir, and none of em make the game better, sir.
starfield is mid at best, sir, and bethesda is not gonna redeem it, sir, because they expect modders to do it for them, sir.
the userbase doesnt care. they are just herd following the same way they herd followed to voting trump. nothing but a bunch of brown people attempting to look cool for imaginary people they assume are looking at them.
I played cyberpunk on release, it ran fine. I played it on 1.6, it ran fine. I played it on 2.0, sudden massive memory leak issues, starts breaking down after less than an hour of play, laggy driving, etc. Starfield has no such problems and runs really well
most people don't actually understand the memes they like at all. theyre understanding of comedy basically comes down to repetion "it's funny because remember this from earlier," is literally the highest form of comedy that anon can understand
Please, they didn’t even have TV’s
Look how advanced we are in our fancy car
Shouting slogans at the telly, standing at the bar
You’re the funniest person your friends know
Cause you repeat catchphrases from their favorite sketch show
Because a particularly assmad brand of fanboy is aware that if they spam a meme that's used against them, it makes it seem like newbies have got hold of it and are spamming it into the dirt, which shields their precious corporate masters from it
Starfield game, wow! Very good, best game ever. Spaceship, stars, much explore. Graphics like real space, so beautiful. Gameplay fun, like adventure in galaxy. No game better, Starfield number one!
How come no one ever rid Cyberpunk's ass for it's outsourced work to 55+ studios, including a bunch that also worked on Starfield? Every game has a lot of outsourcing now which is pretty gay, but I only saw people complaining about it for starfield, which had about half the outsource studios that cyberpunk did

Elden Ring's credits look exactly the same as well.
If you of the liking good space game try Starfield! Many moons, planets, stars, and wow the shipments to fly upon. Eating of the food and shoot the guns at enemy and animal. Can eat, sleep, and adventure. Try today on gamepass or steam my sirs. So much fun I have to share with my friends
>Obsidian makes a space game >dull mediocre ESG dog shit >Bethesda makes a space game >dull medicorw ESG dog shit
Space as a setting is fricking cursed.
When you're creatively bankrupt and need to constantly bring earth """problems""" into your space game like it's a thinly veiled political soapbox yeah the theme can seem pretty shit.
Its all part of a consolidated effort to stop you from looking beyond your own position in society. First you block out the stars with advertisements, then you remove the knowledge and finally you destroy the fantasy, You can't dream of anything beyond if the mere concept of it does not exist.
even elite dangerous is fricked. i'm horrifird to say this, star citizen is the best we have now, and that's dogshit too.
frick space games at this point. anyone smart enough to save space games should frick off to spacex. we'll have water towers crashing on mars irl long before a good space game.
>unceremoniously executes the console versions by cutting off the support
I nearly bought that game on xbone after giving it a spin on the ole Goypass. Glad I never actually bought it. Can't imagine anyone who played it past the 1000 hour mark wasn't spewing after that announcement.
who gives a shit, its a singleplayer game. the game is perfectly playable vanilla. nexerellin revamps the experience and melds very well with the vanilla game, and theres plenty of QoL mods that dont matter who created them.
Who creates the mods matters when the fricks hide malicious code to brick the game if you play with mods they don't approve of.
Or when they all start having enforced 'diversity' and gay paintjobs on the ships, which is starting to happen.

>faction mods
lol, lmao. the equivalent of downloading someone's OC to join your party in an rpg. faction mods just break the game because most of them are not balanced with vanilla factions. i have 30 mods active in my save right now, including some vanilla+ ships, and none of them have homosexual ships or issues with other mods.

Heh. I remember that shitshow. Is that code still in that mod?
The thing about space games is that it is simply not reasonably possible to make a game that is good and lives up to expectations of what a "space game" should be. You are either going to have procgen garbage such to the point where it all feels pointless, or you are gonna have a handful of planets at best which would probably just be more taking the place of a handful of cities in a normal rpg, which can be alright as a game, but won't live up the fantasy of exploring the galaxy and landing on random planets and finding cool shit.
To make a fully realized "space game", you need to custom build many (probably multiple planetary systems worth of) entire worlds, and that just isn't reasonably possible for any single game development studio. The setting isn't "cursed," it is simply far too big to render in a compelling way.
>it is simply far too big to render in a compelling way.
This isn't even true. They don't put any effort into creating assets or even trying to make procgen interesting.
There is no interesting geography like Olympus Mons or the equatorial ridge on Iapetus
There is no interesting color variation like we see on celestial bodies in our system. Almost everything in Starfield is just grey rock or ice plains
There are no volcanoes
There are no cyrovolancoes
There are no subsurface seas
The atmospheric compositions of planets is like the same 3 elements
No weather
No challenge in trying to find and use equipment that will let you survive radically different enviroments.
Procgen isn't the problem, but the lack of procgen. They're just fricking lazy.
>ES6 in Elsweyer or Hammerfell >all the locations are randomly generated sand caves and sand ruins >2 "cities" population of 8-ish >rest of the map is sand
You know it’s gonna be Hammerfell or High Rock, Bethesda can’t fricking write fantasy if it doesn’t involve generic humans. I’m convinced Morrowind was a complete accident.
Morrowind was a hail mary from a dying company that knew that they'd go under if their next game didn't sell gangbusters. Their usual formula had stopped working for them, so they went "frick it" and pumped out high fantasy schizokino in the hopes it would be new and different enough to catch people's attention. Surprisingly, it did, and it saved Bethesda.
They took the lessons they learned from this success - that there really is a market for bizarre alien worlds and high concept vidya plot - and proceeded to wipe their ass with them for the next 20 years.
I think Bethesda is (or was, at least) like that stereotype of the smart kid who never applies himself. They're capable of greatness, but people still buy slop, so why try that hard?
>It's the bots! It's the bots! Larian bought an entire botfarm from China with Tencent money to BUY Starfield on Steam and leave negative reviews so Starfield wouldn't be nominated for GOTY and BG3 would get an easier GOTY because only Starfield could take the GOTY away from them!
See this? This is something Bethesdrones actually believes.
>Why did this game have so much hype anyways?
Phil Spender paid billions to keep it off PS5 and finally have an Xbox blockbuster exclusive, expectations were high lol
My theory is that Bethesda put a genuine effort into the game, but everyone at the company is exceptionally incompetent. Todd has probably known this for over a decade and has resigned himself to essentially being a snake oil salesman to keep the profits rolling in in order to protect his team. Whether it's because of forced esg initiatives in hiring or nepotism, my belief is that everyone at Bethesda is just plain bad at what they do. Even if they retired the creation engine and switched to something else, we'd still probably be getting the same low quality slop.
Only way to correct course is by having mass firing the way 343 had and hiring people who actually know what they are doing. But I don't see that happening till Todd retires post TESVI. Emil will remain at that studio as long Todd stays.
They were expecting "skyrim but in space" because people once again fell for Todd's lies.
Now that most people realize it's shit, they shifted to "Mods will fix it" and "But it just came out, it's gonna get more content later" cope.
When the first gameplay webm got posted on Ganker I said that it looked like shit and I bet the game would be trash. I got dogpiled.
I think there was actually some grass roots marketers getting paid to shill this one.
>I think there was actually some grass roots marketers getting paid to shill this one.
There are some, but don't tell anyone here on Ganker that majority of the shit you see on here is a feedback loop combined with the fact that baiting (You)s is 100x easier now compared to ten years ago

for many zoomers, this was there first Bethesda game. We older gamers played all the other jank and kept memeing about it and they were excited to finally get their hands on all this fun. Is it bad? Then actually it's "good" because Bethesda = Jank!!!
People were hoping bethesda was actually gonna put some effort into a product after the fallout 4 and 76 pushback.
keep in mind toddy boy himself raised people's expectations by claiming that this was going to be a passion project so their teams could work on something besides TES and fallout on repeat. "passion project" implies that there's a highly dedicated bunch of creatives working to create a new masterpiece to get immersed.
the result however is so fricking devoid of anything resembling skilled game making or creativity - STARBORN, for frick's sake, aka DRAGONBORN IN SPACE! - that it's hard to believe this piece of utter bullshit took years to make. if anything microsoft demanded a new IP from bethesda, todd shat out the cheapest piece of crap possible, and has the best of bethesda working on their eternal cash cow elder scrolls instead.
i'm a huge tesgay tho so that may be just wishful thinking on my end. :I
Let me see if I understand you correctly. Starfield has been universally bombed in every corner of the industry, and it's been exposed as a really bad game through social media comments and various video sites. But you think playstation fans are so upset that they aren't able to play a genuinely bad game that you believe those playstation fans are bashing Starfield out of being angry that they can't play what is being roundly described as jank.
I mean, if you truly believe that, you are either injecting the bethesdafanboi copium directly into your veins, or you are a certified imbecile.
>be todd >make 5 manipulative scam games in a row and literally laugh in the face of your customers >get bought out for 70 billion dollars >drop all illusions of ever giving a frick >put out the biggest scam yet >people still buy it
I'm gonna try this again now that I have a 4090. Last free play I tried a few years ago, I had a game breaking bug within 30 minutes on three attempts at playing.
SC eats more ram than gpu. I run it just fine with 64gb and 1070 Last time I visited Orison it was so cursed not even 64gb was enough for more than few minutes and I haven't been there since so maybe avoid that as starting area just in case.
God I hope so, but I can still milk 1 for the time being, shit is just so fun. I genuinely cannot believe people even pay attention to Shitfield when Spengie has existed for a decade at this point.
Does anyone else feel like the taste of the average consoomer has improved over the last 10 years or so? Hardly good by any means but seeing Bethesda games and capeshit finally getting panned does put a smile on my face.
>Does anyone else feel like the taste of the average consoomer has improved over the last 10 years or so?
hahahaha no look at what is thew most popular music and movies right now. the masses are morons and that's why I never care about ratings or reviews from them.
Sorry for not spelling it out for you, when I said improved I didn't mean bad to good, I meant absolute shit to very shit. A few years ago and Starfield would've been the top 1 sold game of the year and would probably have overwhelming postive reviews on steam.
steam reviews dont mean jackshit, all it means is can they run the game or not. if it ran well on lower end hardware then it would have been positive reviews. even shit like DmC has positive reviews just cause it runs well
Padded because of game pass subs and AMD buying copies on Steam to give away with their GPUs and CPUs. The average consumer has rejected Starfield, mostly because that's what content creators told them they should think but even a broken clock is right twice a day.
I like how normies didn't start bashing this game until angry joe uploaded his review which gave it a 6/10. He still sugarcoated the shit out of the game. He literally gave it a 6/10 for a game that reuses fricking generic caves in the main story quest, has the same 5 procedural generated structures with the exact same item placement with no care put in.
Anyways that's when you saw all the bad negative reviews flowing in.
I swear normies are sheep.
I played 23 hours of this game and I rightfully after completing the story I gave it a score of 3/10.
I saw five minutes of the game and instantly knew it was bad just from the writing, voice acting, design, and gameplay.
You don't have to play 20 hours to see it.
Angry Joe didn’t sugarcoat anything, he spent the majority of the review shitting on the game. The only thing he really liked was stealing ships and even that was limited. I was surprised he gave it a 6, he sounded like he was going to give it a 4 and just gave it a 6 out of pity
I pirated the game and immediately knew it was total shit
after the opening fight, I wandered off and didn't board the ship, tried exploring the planet to see what I could find
then after finding absolutely nothing of interest, tried going to another planet
bullet sponge enemies, loading screens, no driving and parking the ship
then the game crashes for no fricking reason
The tide turned around F4/76. Anyone with a brain knew there is no coming back from that type of shit.
Hell, when they tried forcing paid mods for a second time it was already over their business was essentially ended.
Todd's games have been trending towards casual baby games for a while. I think that Starfield is too shallow even for normalgays. I'm sure that I'll come back in a few years to wax my dick to it like with the other Bethsoft game, but it's another lame looter shooter added to the pile for now.
matter little when it already sold out. I can't wait for fallout 5 and elder scroll 6 to be the most mediocre shallow games in the series. They ruined the elder scrolls game. They get progressively lamer and stupider each game. Morrowind has become outdated but it had originality and soul.
>Outer Wilds >Lethal Company >Void Crew >(Fully updated) No Man's Sky >Barotrauma >Space Engineers >Everspace 1 & 2 >Outer Wilds >Space Station 14 >(All of your favourite Warhammer 40k games but none of the ones you don't like)
There are so many good space games that even bothering to discuss Starfield is a red flag in my opinion.
it really is funny to think that this game could be 100% off, and i would never even be tempted to install and play it. I would swear my life on that to satan, that never once would i ever even be tempted
they are literally mindbroken. not even from videogames. i just laugh at them and hope they mindbreak more and continue blaming video game companies. you dont want these losers thinking they have any power in the rl because they dont, they will just be another annoying person out and about yelling at the clouds
its like this entire game is satire of shit games in general. Like if you told chat gpt to make a video game, i would imagine it would be something like starfield.
discard entire main quest (companions included. none of them are good. not even the Todd-supplied space waifu.)
acquire a time machine
rewrite entire game to focus on the struggle for dominance between the United Colonies Gov, the Space Pirates, the Space Texans or the Space Corpos
don't outsource 99% of development
there i saved Starfield
I was never a fan of Bethesda yet still somehow ended up playing all of their games since Morrowind. But I think that might be over now, I really don't have even the slightest desire to try Starfield.
>Same formulatic bullshit they did 20 years ago >Typical western developer that refuses to change >Thinks their audience will want the same tripe they've shoveled out for 20+ years >Audience caught on to that and their woke bullshit and realized games like No Man's Sky and probably Scam Citizen is better
all they had to do for me to like it was not make space the most shallow bullshit imaginable,
literally everything any sector has to offer is shat out right in front of you after a jump, there's no reason to fly anywhere
they even fricked up contraband scans, something space games have gotten right for fricking decades now
I came in with low expectations and still left disappointed
>no aliens because we want it to be realistic NASApunk >barren planets everywhere because that’s more realistic >no crazy weaponry because we want NASApunk >oh, and we also included literal Space Magic
????? How does this make any sense?
Hey, moron, the series which featured an AI attaining apotheosis and Jupiter being turned into a star is not hard scifi just because it has space suits in it.
Because the universe at large is supposed to be near-future and the primary mover of the plot is the discovery of something mysterious that will catapult humanity into a new age, you fricking illiterate moron. Do you onions out like a chimpanzee when a game features a steam engine?
some of the best science fictions lack intelligent alien life, it's just that bethesda went about it in the worst way possible and no, funny people in fursuits and blue painted skin wouldn't have saved this shit
I was thinking RTX 3060 over the 4060 for the 12 GB VRAM, but then I saw the 4060 has like 20% better performance, and it has DLSS3 while 3060 does not. DLSS3/frame gen gives pretty insane FPS boosts. It's such a shame the 4060 doesn't have 12 GB. If it was $50 cheaper at only 8 GB VRAM it would be a no brainer.
>It's such a shame the 4060 doesn't have 12 GB. If it was $50 cheaper at only 8 GB VRAM it would be a no brainer.
yea it all kills me on the inside also. they are such bastards
NTA but do you think it's worth it to get a 3000 series card at all at this point? Or should I wait until the inevitable 5000 series cards and hope that the 3070 or 3090 is still available at all if price is the big factor for me?
anon it all depends on what you want to play right now. do you want to play a game right now? buy the card you want. will you not play anything? don't buy. there's no point in waiting, there will always be cheaper alternatives at any point in time
7 months ago
Anonymous
I get mentally wrapped up in "future proofing". Basically I don't want to have an out of date system almost immediately after buying a new card, but I realize the problem I have since, like you said, there will always been more powerful options eventually.
>I think, or rather hope, that most games over the next 1-2 years will be fine with 8 GB. >inb4 the next GTA and its subsequent double dips throws this hope out the window
I wouldn't count on 8 GBs being enough. Hell 16 GB for RAM and 500 GB for the SSD will end up cracking a lot quicker going by current trends.
CPU is a ryzen 7 3700x, GPU is a radeon rx 6750 xt, easy 60fps and no chugging. It makes the fact that Cyberpunk now runs worse than ever really annoying, apparently there's a memory leak issue it has with some cards. Fricking hacks at cdpr man
Todd, I love the game. Actually, I love it so much, I want you to cancel Fallout 5, cancel TES 6, trash. There hasn't been a good Fallout game since the 90s and Morrowind was the last good TES game. But Starfield, that game is godlike. Develop Starfield 2, alright Todd?
only if you make tes6 a cat game todd
don't forget the maiq the liar cameos todd
give us a questline to solve the mystery of the murder of the mane todd
and what the hell are slarjei? the book never explained what creatures they are
It's the weakest modern Bethesda game with no mods.
Every other Bethesda game from Morrowind onwards I would classify as fun, even without mods (76 doesn't count).
But Starfield is just mediocre, boring and feels really lazy.
I'd put Fallout 4 as the second worst after it.
Mods won't be able to fix Starfield. It's the same thing with Fallout 4, the mods are extremely unstable and are more likely to crash your game than improve the experience. Starfield's issues are deeply rooted in the foundation of the game itself and it would take a truly monumental overhaul to fix the game.
He doesn't care. He probably took a fat paycheck from Microsoft and he'll slowly phase himself out of the company within the next 5-10 years.
He probably doesn't even do anything now in terms of game design or leading the teams, he probably just does a few spokesperson type things and goes home to sleep on wads of cash.
he probably befriended bill gates and now they're cruising from one billionaire pedo island to the next. todd has probably never laid eyes on the final release version of the game.
I knew this game was done for as soon as Todd said "but you can go beyond this solar system, and see thousands of planets!'. I hope it's seen as a wake-up call to the masses that quantity < quality.
in defense of the toddposters, consoomers are usually pants on head moronic. general rejection of a game like that hasn't been seen since the last of us 2 got leaked.
More likely that Larian makes maybe one more good game before Swen retires, some frickhead decides to take the company public or sells to EA or some shit, and then they start churning out schlock.
This happens with every major western RPG dev
It happened to Bioware when they sold to EA
It happened to Bethesda when they went AAA
It happened to CDPR also when they went public
And it's going to happen to Larian, at which point people will be betrayed, and we'll wait for some indie-RPG company to hit it big again and the cycle will continue
I think it's still too early to write off CDPR. Cyberpunk was a spectacular failure, but it was also right out of Witcher 3. They need to show a pattern before we consider them BioWare tier hasbeens.
>limit reviews to people who at least opened the game >score goes up to 70%
I think it's funny that people are either just reviewing the game without having played it or opening it for 10 minutes and closing/refunding it because the game is basically just a 70% on its own. It's a middle of the road title, doesn't do anything well but it's not like it's broken or unplayable.
It's on the level of your average AssCreed game and that's about a 68-75% on Steam most of the time too
7/10 is average in non-autismo land.
8/10 -> good
9/10 -> great
10/10 -> one the best games of all time / masterpiece
6/10 and below is varying degrees of bad. 6 saying that there might be something salvageable about it and 1 saying it's an entirely irredeemably broken piece of crap, a mastercraft in just how fricking terrible it is.
5/10 isn't, and has never been, "average". It is simply the number between 1 and 10. The average quality of media should be determined by the mean average of review scores, but unfortunately media critics sold out a long time ago. But based on youtubers and normalgay opinions, the average is probably around 7.
while you homosexualS are busy checking steam reviews i'm EATING food off of the counters in STARFIELD. can I eat food while looting bodies, no. BUT I DONT CARE BECAUSE THE GAME IS AMAZING. STOP BULLYING US ARRRRGGHHHHHH!!!!
I haven't seen a single meme from this game that wasn't just a glitch or bug. There are countless memes from every other Bethesda game. No one can even remember a NPC from this game.
Au contraire >the gay black guy with a beard >the texan kek raising his wife's daughter >the robot. >the middle-aged yuppy waifu who disapproves of fun choices >a billionaire who bought membership into the cool club >The Mantis
TES6 will have all the same issues that Starfield and every ither Bethesda game has, and it will still have Very/Overwhelmingly Positive reviews simply by virtue of being a more interesting setting/world.
Hard sci-fi has much more limited appeal than high fantasy, so its harder for most people to overlook these games' usual shit.
thor love and thunder wast best selling movie of the week it released
when will the shills learn that when there is a specific metric used in promotional material instead of company saying that its best outrifht it means its not the best? I mean its very fricking simeple "best this month" means its worse than their other games overall. Are you to dumb to not get the quiet part?
it's unironically a decent shooter held back by shitty enemy types and copypasta locations
but everything else failed, there's literally no synergy between gameplay elements
with the biggest oddity being >it's canon to reset the whole world over and over again >but there's still essential npcs and extremely limited choices because frick you
starfield deserves more hate
most of Ganker didn't believe cyberpunk would be 'good'
no man's sky? even normies doubted
but starfield really instilled expectations in us
everyone knew Todd was lying but people had no doubt that it would be a real open world game at least 8/10 to enjoy
result? 2/10 at best
at this point microsoft need to force todd out and entirely restructure bethesda is it want it to make good use of the licences ever
and ditch the creation engine
But the anon is absolutely correct on both counts. Todd is washed. He's lost his creative energy. Everything he's been involved with since Morrowind has been worse than the last. Starfield is just a bad game by every measure.
And Bethesda's 25 year old, heavily frankensteined and severely limited and bugg-filled NetImmerse engine absolutely needs to go.
>And Bethesda's 25 year old, heavily frankensteined and severely limited and bugg-filled NetImmerse engine absolutely needs to go.
moron
The engine sucks. It was built to allow for functionality that Bethesda never used even in Oblivion, the game it was designed for. It is ugly, CPU bound, and horrifically inefficient. You are a braindead fricking homosexual.
It was, you bethesdrone indian Black person. And all the games they've made since them have made even LESS use of the shitty engine. Starfield could be completely recapitulated in fricking unity.

NO, YOU ARE moronic. You think this antiquated Frankenstein piece of dogshit engine, which can't even handle 30 actors being loaded at once, is any good, when it ISN'T. It offers NOTHING over any other engine they could and should be using instead. They continue to use it for one simple reason: none of them actually know how to program, so they are completely dependent on using the creation kit to make content.

Does anyone actually want to watch a ladder climbing animation for this? Does anyone actually climb ladders in their ship instead of desperately trying to avoid it at all costs by boosting? What a fricking weird complaint to make when the game has so many actual issues.
The hate posters are just bizarre. I don't think they played the game at all.

Do you enjoy spouting off shit that makes it clear you have no idea what you're talking about or what? Clueless morons are always the loudest as usual

it's funny people meme about ladders because they're the fricking worst part about navigating a ship if you don't have a decent boost pack
spaceships really shouldn't have artificial gravity to begin with, considering they created an entire movement set around zero-g that's only used in like three fricking locations
Starfield is not really much worse than everything Bethesda has made after Skyrim (including Skyrim).
So I don't know what most people are shocked about.
Starfield has no soul. Starfield is the very definition of a soulless game. And here's what else Starfield does not have --
no flying or driving
no bosses
no memorable environments
no memorable characters
no interesting companions
no memorable missions
no epic weapons and armor
no secret or hidden locations
no combat mechanics
no role playing in this so-called rpg
no character builds
What Starfield has tons of --
loading screens
There are loading screens everywhere, for everything. Want to enter a building? Press E on the door -- loading screen. Want to go to the second floor? Press E on the elevator button -- loading screen. Want to go to another part of the city. Press E on the train -- loading screen. Want to go in your ship? Press E on the ladder -- loading screen. Want to enter the wienerpit? Press E on the chair -- cut scene to hide the loading screen. Want to take off from the surface? That's right -- loading screen. Want to fly to that planet? You guessed it -- loading screen. Want to land? You know it -- loading screen.
Like all Bethesda Game Studios games, Starfield is designed exclusively for the most casual of casual gamer, ie - the player with very little skill, low attention span, no capacity for abstract thought, no patience for complexity, and very low IQ. BGS knows exactly who their target audience is, and that is exactly who they design their games for.
Hey, we are in a Starfield spaceship in space. Let's "fly" to that planet. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
We are in orbit around the planet. No point in exploring the planet because there's only one repeating city on the planet?! Fine. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Well, the game landed the ship for us. Let's get out of the ship. >*cut scene of exiting the wienerpit to hide the loading screen*
Okay, let's click the ladder to leave the ship. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Well, let's walk around the city. Oh, here's a building. Let's go in. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Let's go up to floor two. No stairs? Here's an elevator. Let's go in. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
On floor two now. Nothing to see here. Let's leave this building. Back in the elevator. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
On floor one now. Let's click the door to leave. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Maybe there is something to do somewhere else. Hey, here's a train. Let's get in. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Okay. Another area of the city. More buildings to click to go in. Nah, let's leave this planet. Back to the train. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Let's walk to our ship. Click the ladder again to enter the ship. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Let's go to the wienerpit. Click the chair. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Let's ascend. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Let's go to another planet. >*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
So, fast travel is the only way to travel in this game? There is no driving or any actual flying, landing, or ascending? There are world cell loading all over the place? Frick this, Bethesda.

>starfield hate thread #16504
jesus christ it's been almost 3 months and these people have been constantly posting status updates on the steam review page the entire time, every time it budges a single percent.
making the same arguments over and over.
what is this illness?
People pre-ordered and paid upwards of $70 for Starfield. Those people played Starfield on day one of its release. After playing just a few hours, many of those people started to realize that Starfield was a really bad game even by Bethesda standards. And within a week of release, social media had people talking about how bad Starfield is. A few bad video reviews appeared on Youtube and other video sites within a week of release. People were annoyed at having spent $70 for such a terrible game.
It was all still too early for word to spread. But after three to four weeks, even more people bought Starfield, and even more people discovered how bad the game is. The difference this time is that those people went to social media to speak out about it and discovered lots of people had already done that. And so now you have a force multiplier. As more people buy the game and play a few hours, the more people there are that realize just how bad the game is, and more people taking to social media to comment, and more people noticing all the negative comments then re-posting those comments as part of their own comment.
Two months after release, word has spread about how janky and sterile Starfield is, but there are still some people discovering that for the first time, and so you have new threads of the same old comments we have been seeing for two months now.
Starfield's player base went right into the toilet within two months. That only happens when people start playing only to realize they are playing a bad game, and they drop the game and move on to something else. Starfield is dead on arrival, and Bethesda has only themselves to blame. Their releases have been one worse than the last, they have not made an adjustment, and it has ultimately crashed with Starfield.
I can play this kino game and never see a single loading screen anywhere, travel the entire map which is enormous, get in my choice of dozens of vehicles small and large, drive from area to area, go in and out of buildings, go up and down elevators, engage with NPCs to trigger the start of missions, complete the mission, and never once see a loading screen.
And yet, Bethesda still hasn't figured out ladders or trains or even ships. Fast travel is the only way to travel, right Bethesda?
And to think that using fast travel used to be frowned upon back in the Morrowind days. Bethesda has so thoroughly dumbed down their games that Starfield now features fast travel as the design choice of travel. Bravo!
Fitting because the root is toxic to rabbits and can kill them, while the greens are good for them. It's basically like drinking gasoline for them since their digestive system isn't suitable for dealing with roots.
i was expecting the typical bethesda 7/10 game that can be improved with mods into a unique experience but this was just shit, only a nomansky tier patch can redeem it but we know how greedily lazy todd and his gang are so it wont happen
Yeah all the dumb surface level mid wit criticisms undersell just how half assed the game feels even compared to Fallout 4. There's barely any weapons, you fight the same damn space bandits in the same damn locations, and the level system is some horrible abomination that tries to be both Fallout and TES but winds up locking a bunch of essential shit behind massive level dumps
In a year they'll release some update that adds NPCs to random planets and pay people to write articles and make videos about THE UPDATE THAT SAVED STARFIELD and those reviews will go up to positive
I liked starfield. It was the best bethesda game since skyrim. The story was alright, it was fun to explore and the combat was just good enough to be fun throughout the game. I feel like people expected too much and hate on it just because its popular to hate on. Its a solid RPG, not one I would replay but I had fun with it.
yeah this hivemind mentality is a very disturbing recent trend in video games. BG3 and Starfield were the perfect examples for both extremes this year.
I don't get the irrational hatred for Starfield. It is objectively a better game than FO3, Oblivion and FO4, which is like over half of Bethesda's library of critically acclaimed games.
let's be real OG skyrim is 6/10 without mods as well. it only got better scores and recognition because it was multiplatform and fantasy genre is normie tier while space exploration gays have much higher standards
I kinda doubt it will have starfield's more crippling problems like the lack of a proper overworld, but this is Bethesda and they always find new ways to disappoint
sterile woke garbage
pozzed as frick
For your consideration, the Astral Lounge was supposed to be the biggest most famous club in Neon, and even known outside of Neon.
it's a small chamber with a few morons doing a modern art display. Literally a little dive bar in Night City is larger than this famous "club"
all because Gamebryo is such an antique piece of shit engine it can't handle large spaces.
Cyberpunk clubs fricking suck too anon don't be moronic
>The bartender in this place considers this a busy night
>She fricking drops the bottle
The Hive bar in Cyberpunk looks 100x better than this, I’ve never seen the place in your webm but I’m guessing it’s just a small optional one that they didn’t put any effort into. The point is the Hive is the main club in Cyberpunk and the Astral Lounge is the main (only) club in Starfield and the comparison is embarrassing
"The hive" what the frick are you talking about you ESL Black person, there's nowhere in cyberpunk 2077 called the hive
its called the hive in the spanish translation
>spanish
opinion discarded
I was thinking of Deus Ex when I said Hive, I meant The Afterlife. I’m literally White as snow you mongrels
>He's so uninterested in the game he's defending that he mistakes the MAIN BAR for a single mission location from a game from a decade ago
I haven’t played Cyberpunk in years, I just watched this video the other week

dude some brown posted a pepe at you, are you going to let that slide. the readers are waiting for your response.
You know the rules: Post hand.
dont post your hand. the brown people want to save it and pretend its their hand later.
>I’m literally White as snow you mongrels

that guy was being ironic. i guess the brown side of people have a hard time grasping the humor of a white. many such cases.
The hive was Deus Ex HR

Starfield is the logical conclusion of a studio that was never particularly good at anything discovering that going wider and wider isn't actually compensating for that lack of skill.
how's that pozzed moron? dudes in 70s SOVL alien costumes from star trek the original series or something, that's based af
Congrats on watching steam reviews every day until this happened. It does deserve bad marks for being such a half baked sack of crap, but can you stop making these threads now?
>hey did you hear that Starfield is mixed now?
>wow really lemme check
no, homosexual.
>every day
It's been mixed for a while actually, there's been threads before.
Todd, I’m sorry… we just had no other way of knocking sense into you.
Don’t click on Starfield threads then you dumb fricking cuck.

Should have just made TES VI Todd. You cannot go 2 decades from the last release and pretend you have any credibility.
SEETHE SEETHE SEETHE ACK

It was funny shitposting this game but now i feel kinda bad
you know how you can no longer feel bad? buy a copy of Starfield
for what ?
waking the pigs up ?
we did it steam community!
sir starfield is impressiv if you been living under a rock for the last decade the rpg part feels obsolet, sir, compared to cyberpunk and baldurs gate 3 (and even some of bethesdas own games), and the "space game" part is an illusion, sir, and not even a very good one. if starfields "space gameplay," sir, was a mod for fallout 4 id be impressed, sir, but this is a brand new allegedly "next-gen" space exploration game that is hell-bent to make exploration bland and unimpressive as possible.
i called out starfield, sir, the day that expo video came out showin off the game and said it was not a real space game, sir, and that space travel was just gonna be a map screen and a bunch of smoke and mirrors and thered be a space combat minigame. and i was 100% on the money, sir. planets are just procedurally generated 1km fishbowl experiences, sir, and the game cant even save more than 5 landing spots in memory per planet before it starts pruning them. everything bout planets is arbitrary, sir, except the handful that have an actual developer-made point of interest like a city or town, sir, and even those feel dodgy and underdeveloped.
and that's just the space game part that starfield fails at, sir. the story is bland and borin with no real sense of intrigue or urgency, sir. there is no way to truly play as an evil character, sir. there are no evil followers, sir. everyone has the same brand of morality, sir, and all named npcs are essential to make sure you can only play the game the "correct" way, sir. the reviewers made a huge deal outta new game plus, sir, but what is even the point of starting the game over? you can just look up all the alternate universe easter eggs online, sir, and none of em actually matter, sir, and none of em make the game better, sir.
starfield is mid at best, sir, and bethesda is not gonna redeem it, sir, because they expect modders to do it for them, sir.
Sneedfield is better than cyberpunk thoughever
taste this bbc stupid b***h frick you and frick startroon
it's really not
>t. have 80+ hours in both

bloody bastard
They hated him because he told them the truth.
the userbase doesnt care. they are just herd following the same way they herd followed to voting trump. nothing but a bunch of brown people attempting to look cool for imaginary people they assume are looking at them.
They hated him because he was fricking moronic
Both are terrible shit I wouldn't even pirate
>I haven't played either game, but I've watched my favorite soitubers and they have told me theyre shit so theyre shit!
Both poles and Indians are soulless.
Cyberpunk has much better optimization and runs a lot better than Starfield, so it wins by that metric alone
I played cyberpunk on release, it ran fine. I played it on 1.6, it ran fine. I played it on 2.0, sudden massive memory leak issues, starts breaking down after less than an hour of play, laggy driving, etc. Starfield has no such problems and runs really well
Runs great on my 4090
for me 2.0 was an intense upgrade to my performance. it was a big surprise to me.
nah 2.0 massively mogs Shitfield just by the loading times alone
Not from my experience. 1 or 2 seconds to load in starfield, vs 20+ for cyberpunk first time and 10 to 15 on reloading saves
Sir do the needful
Not anymore.
Actually even the buggy mess that was CP77 1.0 was a better RPG than starfield
I don't get it. Why are you acting like pajeets are anti-Starfield when the game was literally made *by* them, *for* them?
most people don't actually understand the memes they like at all. theyre understanding of comedy basically comes down to repetion "it's funny because remember this from earlier," is literally the highest form of comedy that anon can understand
Please, they didn’t even have TV’s
Look how advanced we are in our fancy car
Shouting slogans at the telly, standing at the bar
You’re the funniest person your friends know
Cause you repeat catchphrases from their favorite sketch show
Because a particularly assmad brand of fanboy is aware that if they spam a meme that's used against them, it makes it seem like newbies have got hold of it and are spamming it into the dirt, which shields their precious corporate masters from it
MA'AM ARE YOU A PROSTITUTE?
DO THE NEEDFUL
DELETE THIS
i like how you took another anon's post, pajeet-ified it, then started spamming it pretending starfield isn't the damage controlled game here
im happy that your this addicted to Ganker. life is over or wut. fricking lawl
oh ... ohhh you... geoff you bloody bastard b***h sir... goty please send code, sir.
why did this one and only this one crack me up lmao
MAAM DO NOT REDEEM THE TEARS OF THE KINGDOM!!!!!! REDEEM THE STARFIELD MAAM!!!!!
we did it tendo tots, we bought the microsoft game hundreds of thousands of times!
>eurotards actually unironically bought a game they can't play just to reviewbomb
quite possibly the most pathetic thing I've ever seen
snoys are mostly amurrican.
that guy is most likely from eurotard himself and is talking about his actual friends that did that
Nice try thirdworlder
Starfield game, wow! Very good, best game ever. Spaceship, stars, much explore. Graphics like real space, so beautiful. Gameplay fun, like adventure in galaxy. No game better, Starfield number one!
Thank you for your service, Rajeet
denounce the Vedas
Well space is fake so the graphics are indicative of real life, you can't fault Bethesda for space being fake bro.
Starfield is the greatest filter of all time, this time next year it will be unanimously praised and Xbox will be the dominant console
these are all botted reviews from bg3 trannies
Its all indians and chinks
Buddy, the art and animations in the game are the least of it's myriad issues.
How come no one ever rid Cyberpunk's ass for it's outsourced work to 55+ studios, including a bunch that also worked on Starfield? Every game has a lot of outsourcing now which is pretty gay, but I only saw people complaining about it for starfield, which had about half the outsource studios that cyberpunk did
Elden Ring's credits look exactly the same as well.
>mixing up Chinks and poos with Japs
Completely different work culture
It was over before it began
oh, so it's not only woke garbage.. but 100% pure woke garbage.
it's like bubonic, sarin, or 0day of israelites craftmanship..
Black person, hiring Indians for cheap labor isn't woke
And?
Half of BG3 stuff are slavs of all kinds and shapes, but nobody cries about it.
It's just natural to hire the cheaper workers
Trusn out slavs are capable of making good games
Its almost like they made some other great rpg like about witcher or something
Slavs are infused with kino.
>All the Kumar’s
The frick?
Kumars vs Coomers
Indian and Chinks, oh wow
How do you call this? Sirsfield or Ricefield?
>the white man's game
The power of outsourcing
The joke sharted itself.
>Dilipsun Anal
Snoy disinfo psy-op, never seen anything like it probably funded by leftist commie think tanks
same energy, except the mods actually banned shitposting Snoyboys back then
>seething for 9+ years about this one post
Microcucks can't go any lower, can they?
This is actually all this game did aside from showing everyone that Bethedrones are massive schizos.
Steam is utterly irrelevant on PC all are playing Star Field for free on Gamepass
>Steam is utterly irrelevant on PC
>Obsidian makes a space game
>dull mediocre ESG dog shit
>Bethesda makes a space game
>dull medicorw ESG dog shit
Space as a setting is fricking cursed.
When you're creatively bankrupt and need to constantly bring earth """problems""" into your space game like it's a thinly veiled political soapbox yeah the theme can seem pretty shit.
Its all part of a consolidated effort to stop you from looking beyond your own position in society. First you block out the stars with advertisements, then you remove the knowledge and finally you destroy the fantasy, You can't dream of anything beyond if the mere concept of it does not exist.
i hope this site gets their hook in you more. that would be gold!
Gold is the devils metal. Silver has been denied to us because of its anti demonic properties and the ability to purify water.
i stand by what i wrote and im glad its going to be true
even elite dangerous is fricked. i'm horrifird to say this, star citizen is the best we have now, and that's dogshit too.
frick space games at this point. anyone smart enough to save space games should frick off to spacex. we'll have water towers crashing on mars irl long before a good space game.
>unceremoniously executes the console versions by cutting off the support
I nearly bought that game on xbone after giving it a spin on the ole Goypass. Glad I never actually bought it. Can't imagine anyone who played it past the 1000 hour mark wasn't spewing after that announcement.
>space games are fricked
>ctrl+f "starsector"
>0 matches
shameful, really
Starfarer is good but the community has been completely taken over by gay furries who quote Stalin.
who gives a shit, its a singleplayer game. the game is perfectly playable vanilla. nexerellin revamps the experience and melds very well with the vanilla game, and theres plenty of QoL mods that dont matter who created them.
Elite dangerous and the X series Good try tho. Both of those are infinitely better than starshit
At least outer worlds actually had gameplay. Science weapons are fun when built right.
>Bioware makes space game triology
>it's pure kino until the ending fricks it all up
Good. Eat shit Bethesda, don’t you fricking ruin TES6 like i know you will.
>ES6 in Elsweyer or Hammerfell
>all the locations are randomly generated sand caves and sand ruins
>2 "cities" population of 8-ish
>rest of the map is sand
They're capable of greatness, but people still buy slop, so why try that hard?
cringe
it's not that bad, it's fun enough
more fun than BG3
>It's the bots! It's the bots! Larian bought an entire botfarm from China with Tencent money to BUY Starfield on Steam and leave negative reviews so Starfield wouldn't be nominated for GOTY and BG3 would get an easier GOTY because only Starfield could take the GOTY away from them!
See this? This is something Bethesdrones actually believes.
Why did this game have so much hype anyways? Were people actually expecting more than another janky Bethesda game?
Paid marketing and riding on Skyrim's coattails.
Skyrim, too was and still is pretty janky.
I was really hoping that space would be more than the afterthought that it is
good single player space games are hard to come by now days
>Why did this game have so much hype anyways?
Phil Spender paid billions to keep it off PS5 and finally have an Xbox blockbuster exclusive, expectations were high lol
People were hoping bethesda was actually gonna put some effort into a product after the fallout 4 and 76 pushback.
Consoomers doing consoomer things, nothing new
They were expecting "skyrim but in space" because people once again fell for Todd's lies.
Now that most people realize it's shit, they shifted to "Mods will fix it" and "But it just came out, it's gonna get more content later" cope.
hcope always dies last
>2023
>still Gankerirgins do not know what marketing is
When the first gameplay webm got posted on Ganker I said that it looked like shit and I bet the game would be trash.
Is it bad? Then actually it's "good" because Bethesda = Jank!!!
keep in mind toddy boy himself raised people's expectations by claiming that this was going to be a passion project so their teams could work on something besides TES and fallout on repeat.
>microsoft demanded a new IP from bethesda
IIRC, the acquisition happened while Starfield was already deep in development.
People hoped the Microsoft buy out would mean Microsoft would send over their high level programmers to fix their shit.
people thought that bethesda were actually going to evolve instead they got fallout 4 in space
jesus if only. Starfield isn't half the game Fallout 4 is
Ganker is a console war board with an undying hatred of Sony and this was supposed to be Xbox's ace in the hole to kill Sony forever.
The bad reviews are yet another snoy review bomb, thanks for admitting that.
Fredo, please.
I mean, if you truly believe that, you are either injecting the bethesdafanboi copium directly into your veins, or you are a certified imbecile.
>be todd
>make 5 manipulative scam games in a row and literally laugh in the face of your customers
>get bought out for 70 billion dollars
>drop all illusions of ever giving a frick

death to spaceslop
what are some good space games I should look in to?
Star Citizen
Free flight week is going on right now, you can try it for free.
been playing the freefly, trade kiosk keeps eating all my stuff though 🙁
I'm gonna try this again now that I have a 4090. Last free play I tried a few years ago, I had a game breaking bug within 30 minutes on three attempts at playing.
SC eats more ram than gpu. I run it just fine with 64gb and 1070
Last time I visited Orison it was so cursed not even 64gb was enough for more than few minutes and I haven't been there since so maybe avoid that as starting area just in case.
Space Engineers
spengie 2 might be the goat if their recent engine presentations are anything to go by
God I hope so, but I can still milk 1 for the time being, shit is just so fun. I genuinely cannot believe people even pay attention to Shitfield when Spengie has existed for a decade at this point.
starfield
Sins of a solar empire.
Steam ruined pc gaming
0.02 EGS dollars were added to your epic account
epic game store is better than steam.
ok buddy, time for your medication
I'm right
How? Because your favorite games get shit reviews?
Does anyone else feel like the taste of the average consoomer has improved over the last 10 years or so? Hardly good by any means but seeing Bethesda games and capeshit finally getting panned does put a smile on my face.
>Does anyone else feel like the taste of the average consoomer has improved over the last 10 years or so?
hahahaha no look at what is thew most popular music and movies right now. the masses are morons and that's why I never care about ratings or reviews from them.
starfield is in the top 10 sold games of 2023 tard
Sorry for not spelling it out for you, when I said improved I didn't mean bad to good, I meant absolute shit to very shit. A few years ago and Starfield would've been the top 1 sold game of the year and would probably have overwhelming postive reviews on steam.
steam reviews dont mean jackshit, all it means is can they run the game or not. if it ran well on lower end hardware then it would have been positive reviews. even shit like DmC has positive reviews just cause it runs well
Explain the high hardware requirement games with good scores then?
which one
Padded because of game pass subs and AMD buying copies on Steam to give away with their GPUs and CPUs. The average consumer has rejected Starfield, mostly because that's what content creators told them they should think but even a broken clock is right twice a day.
most steam reviews are just poorgays getting bad performance
I'm not hearing you say their wrong.
wrong about what? their personal performance problems?
You don't have to play 20 hours to see it.
newbie pls lurkmoar
Angry Joe didn’t sugarcoat anything, he spent the majority of the review shitting on the game. The only thing he really liked was stealing ships and even that was limited. I was surprised he gave it a 6, he sounded like he was going to give it a 4 and just gave it a 6 out of pity
the youtube audience in all its glory
>implying angry joe has been relevant anytime in the past 5 years
Angry Joe is a moron who thinks Hogwarts Legacy deserves a GotY nomination more than RE4make
RE4 came out in 2005, of course Hogwarts is more deserving of GOTY 2023 than it
I played the only good part of BG3 in 2020 so I guess that shouldn't get nominated either
people were calling the game shit before it was even released. The only people even slightly apologetic were bgs fanboys. Youre ffricking cooked mate
i think the last time i saw a angry joe video was fable three, and the last time i bought a bethesda game was new vegas
I pirated the game and immediately knew it was total shit
after the opening fight, I wandered off and didn't board the ship, tried exploring the planet to see what I could find
then after finding absolutely nothing of interest, tried going to another planet
bullet sponge enemies, loading screens, no driving and parking the ship
then the game crashes for no fricking reason
uninstall
it's not a 3/10, it's a 2/10
>I swear normies are sheep
>says the one who bought this shite
NOOOOOOOOOO
CHUDS WEREN'T SUPPOSED TO WIN
>starfield is bad
wow who saw this coming? it looked fantastic in previews, what went wrong between those previews and release?
>one small step
lost
The tide turned around F4/76. Anyone with a brain knew there is no coming back from that type of shit.
Hell, when they tried forcing paid mods for a second time it was already over their business was essentially ended.
hurry up tell them
why does this game have a dedicated general? for what reasons? lmao
they are morons and they still think todd makes games
Even the Bethesda general didn't want them lmao
Considering how fast the game died on steam, I am amazed at how boring these gamers are. They literally talk about nothing right now.
inb4 on gamepass it sold 10 quiadrillion copies.
I want a live reading like Steam has for every platform. They won't though because then we can see through their lies.
>the tide has turned for Todd
*on Todd
You fricking esl
>*on Todd
fr fr?
Todd's games have been trending towards casual baby games for a while. I think that Starfield is too shallow even for normalgays. I'm sure that I'll come back in a few years to wax my dick to it like with the other Bethsoft game, but it's another lame looter shooter added to the pile for now.
And in a couple years of updates/DLC/Special-Edition later, it'll be back under Positive, and Ganker will make threads saying "Apologize".
matter little when it already sold out. I can't wait for fallout 5 and elder scroll 6 to be the most mediocre shallow games in the series. They ruined the elder scrolls game. They get progressively lamer and stupider each game. Morrowind has become outdated but it had originality and soul.
>Outer Wilds
>Lethal Company
>Void Crew
>(Fully updated) No Man's Sky
>Barotrauma
>Space Engineers
>Everspace 1 & 2
>Outer Wilds
>Space Station 14
>(All of your favourite Warhammer 40k games but none of the ones you don't like)
There are so many good space games that even bothering to discuss Starfield is a red flag in my opinion.
There are so many good space games
Why is Outer Wilds listed twice? I hope that wasn't a typo and you meant Outer Worlds...
probably not, outer worlds fricking sucks while outer wilds is such a great game its just listed twice for being this good
Thought so
Because I forgot to list Outer Wilds a third time
Space games are so boring. I only like the part where you visit planets and see all sorts of alien fauna and flora.
>dude just play troony company
lmoa
my hearthiahomies
Most of the real problems with the game start with the white employees (quest design, narrative, dialogue, gameplay systems)
>20% off barely 2 months after release
IT ALL
RETURNS
TO NOTHING
it really is funny to think that this game could be 100% off, and i would never even be tempted to install and play it. I would swear my life on that to satan, that never once would i ever even be tempted
Let's see if we can't turn this to "Mostly Negative". They need to know how much they dropped the ball here.
>check reviews
>negative reviews from people with 100+ hours
Why are people like this
they are literally mindbroken. not even from videogames. i just laugh at them and hope they mindbreak more and continue blaming video game companies. you dont want these losers thinking they have any power in the rl because they dont, they will just be another annoying person out and about yelling at the clouds
There isn't that many people here old enough to remember "oblivion with guns"
I desperately wish Starfield was oblivion with guns or even skyrim with guns.
Instead it's Morrowind with guns.
More like Daggerfall with guns, but I agree with your general idea of it being based.
If anything, it's Daggerfall with guns.
The fact that obnoxious chad posting has been kneecapped by starfield is one point I'll grant it.
I'm old enough to look down on children who like oblivion.
the endless drove of brown teenagers on this site im sure are very proud of you
Maybe it's time to upgrade your developers, Todd?
what was once a novel about bethesda games is now tiring
Hottest club in the galaxy.
its like this entire game is satire of shit games in general. Like if you told chat gpt to make a video game, i would imagine it would be something like starfield.
what goes through a codemonkey's mind when he's ordered to work on crap like this? ngl i'd probably fall off my chair laughing multiple times
nothing because the "people" working at these companies now all agree with the propaganda
discard entire main quest (companions included. none of them are good. not even the Todd-supplied space waifu.)
acquire a time machine
rewrite entire game to focus on the struggle for dominance between the United Colonies Gov, the Space Pirates, the Space Texans or the Space Corpos
don't outsource 99% of development
there i saved Starfield
>when a little kid has an "idea" and is using the internet
I was never a fan of Bethesda yet still somehow ended up playing all of their games since Morrowind. But I think that might be over now, I really don't have even the slightest desire to try Starfield.
gross some console war boomer replied to me
pick a side and bleed, homosexual.
go make a doctors appointment and make sure all your organs are healthy, boomboom
>Same formulatic bullshit they did 20 years ago
>Typical western developer that refuses to change
>Thinks their audience will want the same tripe they've shoveled out for 20+ years
>Audience caught on to that and their woke bullshit and realized games like No Man's Sky and probably Scam Citizen is better
all they had to do for me to like it was not make space the most shallow bullshit imaginable,
literally everything any sector has to offer is shat out right in front of you after a jump, there's no reason to fly anywhere
they even fricked up contraband scans, something space games have gotten right for fricking decades now
I came in with low expectations and still left disappointed
>facts don't matter
just like your country's migrant statistics, right? you first
>mixed
Mutt game from mutt devs for mutt players. How is this surprising?
I regret buying Starfield. Mods can't fix it.
>Starfield
>white man
sorry you didnt understand the sentence with your brain in a white mans world
don't cry for me argentina I'm already dead
ok, brown child
Go woke, go broke.
Am white, always right.
I'm a indian, and I love Starfield!
All the talent leaves in corporate. It happens all the time. If bethesda had anyone working for them who could actually design they left after skyrim.
lawl who is going to refute this? hope someone write snoy for me specifically bringing it up right now
>no aliens because we want it to be realistic NASApunk
>barren planets everywhere because that’s more realistic
>no crazy weaponry because we want NASApunk
>oh, and we also included literal Space Magic
????? How does this make any sense?
confused brown people is such a classic trope
Only a straight White male could understand such esoteric concepts you dirty dumb brownoid.
>space magic has NEVER been a large part of hard sci fi before...
I'm indian and I'm mad people are making fun of Starfield!
Please, stop!
Get in there and leave a positive review now, you insolent little shits.
A true savior of the White race will leave a clown on every negative review. It won't be about the money but to simply send a message.
the only thing getting in there is BBC (big bear wiener) deep in your anus todd
You haven't made a good game in more than a decade Todd. I DO NOT FEAR YOU
What GPU you guys using for Starfield? I'm in the market. What do you have/what's your FPS?
try to get something with more than 8gbram for the future and playing with ai programs
Or should I wait until the inevitable 5000 series cards and hope that the 3070 or 3090 is still available at all if price is the big factor for me?
anon it all depends on what you want to play right now. do you want to play a game right now? buy the card you want. will you not play anything? don't buy. there's no point in waiting, there will always be cheaper alternatives at any point in time
I get mentally wrapped up in "future proofing". Basically I don't want to have an out of date system almost immediately after buying a new card, but I realize the problem I have since, like you said, there will always been more powerful options eventually.
I did also read that Resident Evil 4 remake is the only game right now that really requires 12 GB for textures, is that true?
I think, or rather hope, that most games over the next 1-2 years will be fine with 8 GB.
Whatever I buy now I'll plan to upgrade again in 1-2 years.
If you want to future proof yourself I'd suggest getting a 4090 for TESVI. You don't want to be chugging away on that with some ancient sub 30 series.
CPU is a ryzen 7 3700x, GPU is a radeon rx 6750 xt, easy 60fps and no chugging. It makes the fact that Cyberpunk now runs worse than ever really annoying, apparently there's a memory leak issue it has with some cards. Fricking hacks at cdpr man
Ryzen 5 3600, RX 6700 XT
on lowest settings I get 60 FPS maybe 80% of the time outside cities, 0% in cities
I won't bother with my 6650 then.
I SAID GET IN THERE AND LEAVE A POSITIVE REVIEW!
start calling people brown and they all scatter like wienerroaches when you shine the light
Omg EPIC!!! HAHAxD
mixed just like every single npc and child in the game
sounds like the userbase of Ganker
eh
ENOUGH
BUY 10 COPIES OF STARFIELD RIGHT FRICKING NOW
I'M NOT JOKING AROUND HERE buttholeS, GET IN THERE AND LEAVE A POSITIVE REVIEW OR I WILL RELEASE SKYRIM AGAIN AND MAKE YOU BUY IT
I'll buy nothing, and I'll be happy.
Why do Brown people hate Starfield?
Skyrim was absolute casual normalgay trash. How anyone could not have seen it as the marker for Bethesda continuing the trend is byond me.
That's why they made GODfield, a normie-repellent game that only attracts TWM
LEAVE A POSITIVE REVIEW OR ELSE!!!
YOU'LL BUY TWO
YOU'LL BUY TWO
YOU'LL BUY TWO
YOU'LL BUY TWO
YOU'LL BUY TWO
YOU'LL BUY TWO
I think Starfield is their best product since Oblivion and I shan't apologize for enjoying the game.
To reach out and touch the cosmos...
that's the spirit! 😀
>game is so shit that it took down Toddposting with it
jej
I AM SERIOUS I WILL DELAY TESVI UNTIL 2030 UNLESS YOU LEAVE A POSITIVE REVIEW YOU FRICKS!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Todd...
I don't even want TES6 anymore...
it's over man... you have to let go...
Good. I'll leave more negative reviews.
Do it you fricking homosexual. We all know that M$ will take you out the back once that game flops.
> he thinks TES 6 will be good after fallout 4 and starflop
Bethesda peaked with morrowind creatively and thats only because it was their make or break moment.
only if you make tes6 a cat game todd
don't forget the maiq the liar cameos todd
give us a questline to solve the mystery of the murder of the mane todd
and what the hell are slarjei? the book never explained what creatures they are
That was your last chance to build hype for TES6, Todd. Bethesda is dead and that was the last nail in the coffin.
STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM! YOU VIOLATED THE LAW, PAY THE COURT A POSITIVE REVIEW OR SERVE YOUR SENTENCE!
*Takes off grey cowl of nocturnal*
It's the weakest modern Bethesda game with no mods.
Every other Bethesda game from Morrowind onwards I would classify as fun, even without mods (76 doesn't count).
But Starfield is just mediocre, boring and feels really lazy.
I'd put Fallout 4 as the second worst after it.
I'm just never going to play Starfield, okay?
Why not? It will probably be pretty good in a couple years with a few hundred mods on top.
Mods won't be able to fix Starfield. It's the same thing with Fallout 4, the mods are extremely unstable and are more likely to crash your game than improve the experience. Starfield's issues are deeply rooted in the foundation of the game itself and it would take a truly monumental overhaul to fix the game.
still not on PS5 lmao
>inb4 sour grapes
He doesn't care. He probably took a fat paycheck from Microsoft and he'll slowly phase himself out of the company within the next 5-10 years.
He probably doesn't even do anything now in terms of game design or leading the teams, he probably just does a few spokesperson type things and goes home to sleep on wads of cash.
he probably befriended bill gates and now they're cruising from one billionaire pedo island to the next. todd has probably never laid eyes on the final release version of the game.
I could honestly see Bill Gates and Todd Howard being friends. Not in a nefarious way, but they are both genuinely nerds.
*exits stealth mode*
"Sneed"
*reenters stealth mode*
I knew this game was done for as soon as Todd said "but you can go beyond this solar system, and see thousands of planets!'. I hope it's seen as a wake-up call to the masses that quantity < quality.
Remember all the "ironic" toddposts adamantly claiming all critics would buy it anyway?
in defense of the toddposters, consoomers are usually pants on head moronic. general rejection of a game like that hasn't been seen since the last of us 2 got leaked.
Bethesda can still be saved. Fire Emil Pagliarulo.
I had the hardest epiphany. Why the frick am I spending all this time on Ganker?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dead_Internet_theory
This is it right here.
For teh lulz
Act on that before it's too late. I had the same thing happen to me but didn't do anything. I've been here ever since.
Because videogames are shit.
🙂
>multiplayer
huh?!
Maybe we'll get lucky and it'll go into negative.
>gets showed up by a fricking CRPG
Now that consumers have actual standards, maybe now Bethesda will actually try in next one.
That's what I'm worried about. Hopefully that next game is a good one.
I think it's still too early to write off CDPR. Cyberpunk was a spectacular failure, but it was also right out of Witcher 3. They need to show a pattern before we consider them BioWare tier hasbeens.
>Now that consumers have actual standards
Might want to check out Diablo 4 sales before claiming nonsense. Consumers are as moronic as ever
It still sold millions and Elder Scrolls 6 will to only thanks to the brand name.
Todd is financially secure thanks to that for the next decade.
>Todd only ruled the entire RPG industry, and much of video games in general, for (at least) 20 years
>And now a bunch of contrarians on one (1) platform have called his side-project "average"! (after buying it of course)
>Todd BTFO how will he EVER recover???
Elder Scrolls 6 is going to mindbreak this board even more than BG3
I’m sure a few “ironic”‘Todds will do just as well for ES6 as they did for sirfield
if bethesda fricks elder scrolls 6 up they're gonna receive some letter bombs from the fandom
Bethesda doesn't give a shit
The game made all the money in the world
Their next game will do even better
>limit reviews to people who at least opened the game
>score goes up to 70%
I think it's funny that people are either just reviewing the game without having played it or opening it for 10 minutes and closing/refunding it because the game is basically just a 70% on its own. It's a middle of the road title, doesn't do anything well but it's not like it's broken or unplayable.
It's on the level of your average AssCreed game and that's about a 68-75% on Steam most of the time too
>It's a middle of the road title
So it should be 5/10, aka average
7/10 is average in non-autismo land.
8/10 -> good
9/10 -> great
10/10 -> one the best games of all time / masterpiece
6/10 and below is varying degrees of bad. 6 saying that there might be something salvageable about it and 1 saying it's an entirely irredeemably broken piece of crap, a mastercraft in just how fricking terrible it is.
5/10 isn't, and has never been, "average". It is simply the number between 1 and 10. The average quality of media should be determined by the mean average of review scores, but unfortunately media critics sold out a long time ago. But based on youtubers and normalgay opinions, the average is probably around 7.
Atleast post a current screen and not one from almost two weeks ago you disingenuous little shit.
while you homosexualS are busy checking steam reviews i'm EATING food off of the counters in STARFIELD. can I eat food while looting bodies, no. BUT I DONT CARE BECAUSE THE GAME IS AMAZING. STOP BULLYING US ARRRRGGHHHHHH!!!!
the anti gravity power was the best part of the game
I haven't seen a single meme from this game that wasn't just a glitch or bug. There are countless memes from every other Bethesda game. No one can even remember a NPC from this game.
Au contraire
>the gay black guy with a beard
>the texan kek raising his wife's daughter
>the robot.
>the middle-aged yuppy waifu who disapproves of fun choices
>a billionaire who bought membership into the cool club
>The Mantis
TES6 will have all the same issues that Starfield and every ither Bethesda game has, and it will still have Very/Overwhelmingly Positive reviews simply by virtue of being a more interesting setting/world.
Hard sci-fi has much more limited appeal than high fantasy, so its harder for most people to overlook these games' usual shit.
starfield is fine
it's really not bad
it's Skyrim in space and it's very mellow
most games aren't enjoyable in that way, they're much more self-important
>Skyrim in space
It's a more mellowed Daggerfall in space with guns. Nobody likes Daggerfall except absolute contrarians.
*Daggerfall in space
I swear to God Todd if you don't step it up for skyrim 2 you had your fun in space now stop screwing around
>holy kek
>
>the tide has turned for To-ACK
>best-selling game of September
Yeah, and then it dropped off a cliff the following month lol.
thor love and thunder wast best selling movie of the week it released
when will the shills learn that when there is a specific metric used in promotional material instead of company saying that its best outrifht it means its not the best? I mean its very fricking simeple "best this month" means its worse than their other games overall. Are you to dumb to not get the quiet part?
No Star Trek total overhaul no buy.
Simple as.
>Xboners thought that Shartfield was gonna be nominated for GOTY after they blacklisted journalists while releasing a piece of shit
elder scrolls 6 will save bethesda right bros
it's unironically a decent shooter held back by shitty enemy types and copypasta locations
but everything else failed, there's literally no synergy between gameplay elements
with the biggest oddity being
>it's canon to reset the whole world over and over again
>but there's still essential npcs and extremely limited choices because frick you
>xbox tax
the game will never be on playstation, people need to grow the frick up
what steam has to do with playstation you absolute mongoloid moron? what kind of starving 3rd world Black person plays games on consoles anyway?
starfield deserves more hate
most of Ganker didn't believe cyberpunk would be 'good'
no man's sky? even normies doubted
but starfield really instilled expectations in us
everyone knew Todd was lying but people had no doubt that it would be a real open world game at least 8/10 to enjoy
result? 2/10 at best
its dookie
at this point microsoft need to force todd out and entirely restructure bethesda is it want it to make good use of the licences ever
and ditch the creation engine
>and ditch the creation engine
moron
But the anon is absolutely correct on both counts. Todd is washed. He's lost his creative energy. Everything he's been involved with since Morrowind has been worse than the last. Starfield is just a bad game by every measure.
And Bethesda's 25 year old, heavily frankensteined and severely limited and bugg-filled NetImmerse engine absolutely needs to go.
>And Bethesda's 25 year old, heavily frankensteined and severely limited and bugg-filled NetImmerse engine absolutely needs to go.
moron
because you said so, or were you planning to explain yourself?
Ad hominem is not a valid argument. Feel free to provide some information of some substance to support your comment. Else, your opinion is discarded.
there are no other engines that can do what bethesda does with creation
moron
The engine sucks. It was built to allow for functionality that Bethesda never used even in Oblivion, the game it was designed for. It is ugly, CPU bound, and horrifically inefficient. You are a braindead fricking homosexual.
>the game it was designed for
>oblivion
moron
It was, you bethesdrone indian Black person. And all the games they've made since them have made even LESS use of the shitty engine. Starfield could be completely recapitulated in fricking unity.
>It was, you bethesdrone indian Black person
moron
>Starfield could be completely recapitulated in fricking unity
moron
NO, YOU ARE moronic. You think this antiquated Frankenstein piece of dogshit engine, which can't even handle 30 actors being loaded at once, is any good, when it ISN'T. It offers NOTHING over any other engine they could and should be using instead. They continue to use it for one simple reason: none of them actually know how to program, so they are completely dependent on using the creation kit to make content.
>It offers NOTHING over any other engine
moron
Name ONE feature.
easily accessible modding
moron
THAT'S NOT A DEVELOPMENT FEATURE. And you could make a drag and drop mod tool for ANY engine. Most fricking DO.
>THAT'S NOT A DEVELOPMENT FEATURE.
moron
>And you could make a drag and drop mod tool for ANY engine.
moron
>Most fricking DO.
moron
NOT AN ARGUMENT, moron.
>NOT AN ARGUMENT
moron
>Todd knows there's nothing interesting underwater so he just cuts it from the game
Such an ingenious way to cut down on SSD space! He's such a great developer
and yet the engine still can't do ladders
click the ladder.. *loading*
click the trap door... *loading*
take two steps into a cave... *loading*
>and yet the engine still can't do ladders
moron
Tell me about the ladder you have to click to get into your ship. What happens there, son?
tell me about the ladder you can use to get to different levels on your ship
moron
and yet you avoided the question entirely
coward
>avoided the question
moron
That is all Bethesda's fault. Give Bethesda another engine and they'll jank it up adding the features they need.
And way down we go
Bethsedshit was never good
Starfield is not really much worse than everything Bethesda has made after Skyrim (including Skyrim).
BGS knows exactly who their target audience is, and that is exactly who they design their games for.
very mid game. they were more concerned with making it diverse than it being fun kek
Let's play No Man's Skyrim
Hey, we are in a Starfield spaceship in space. Let's "fly" to that planet.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
We are in orbit around the planet. No point in exploring the planet because there's only one repeating city on the planet?! Fine.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Well, the game landed the ship for us. Let's get out of the ship.
>*cut scene of exiting the wienerpit to hide the loading screen*
Okay, let's click the ladder to leave the ship.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Well, let's walk around the city. Oh, here's a building. Let's go in.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Let's go up to floor two. No stairs? Here's an elevator. Let's go in.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
On floor two now. Nothing to see here. Let's leave this building. Back in the elevator.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
On floor one now. Let's click the door to leave.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Maybe there is something to do somewhere else. Hey, here's a train. Let's get in.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Okay. Another area of the city. More buildings to click to go in. Nah, let's leave this planet. Back to the train.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Let's walk to our ship. Click the ladder again to enter the ship.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Let's go to the wienerpit. Click the chair.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Let's ascend.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
Let's go to another planet.
>*cut scene to hide the loading screen*
So, fast travel is the only way to travel in this game? There is no driving or any actual flying, landing, or ascending? There are world cell loading all over the place? Frick this, Bethesda.
*rage*
*clicks settings*
*clicks exit to main menu*
>are you sure?
*clicks yes*
>loading
>main menu
>click any button to continue
*clicks button*
*clicks settings*
*clicks exit game*
>are you sure?
*clicks yes*
>loading
*crash to desktop*
*uninstall.exe*
Great engine you got there.
Sure sounds like a fun time.
>starfield hate thread #16504
jesus christ it's been almost 3 months and these people have been constantly posting status updates on the steam review page the entire time, every time it budges a single percent.
making the same arguments over and over.
what is this illness?
its only because people keep replying to the threads. its that simple
Allow me to explain.
Why did Starfield fall so short of expectations?
Carlos!
Bravo!
bethesda fallout is great tho
For me, it was the cringe-worthy bad writing that made me drop Starfield. The game gives off such small dick energy.
BG3/Cyberpunk trannies are review bombing it, fake reviews
>BG3/Cyberpunk trannies are review bombing it, fake reviews
Welp, Starfield won something at least
>It doesn't NEED mostly positive reviews
In a year they'll release some update that adds NPCs to random planets and pay people to write articles and make videos about THE UPDATE THAT SAVED STARFIELD and those reviews will go up to positive
What an absolute brutal mogging. In less than three months, Starfield is down to under 11,000 concurrent players. Wow.
no ask
no care
Bravo, Todd
imagine being mentally ill enough to defend this
wokism is hilarious
Kind of surprised the "mods will fix it" crowd aren't defending this since, you know, this is one of the few studios this is actually true for
It's just humiliating at this point for Starfield
seek help dude
OHHH
LOOK WHAT YOU'VE DONE
YOU'VE MADE A FOOL OF EVERYONE
>AI produced game
The sad thing is that they can keep doing this over and over and it will not impact their mainline games despite them being just as bad.
I hope it gets lower, total indian shill death.
I didn't really enjoy the game either but having this thread like every other day sure does qualify as obsessed.
its' over
I don't get the irrational hatred for Starfield. It is objectively a better game than FO3, Oblivion and FO4, which is like over half of Bethesda's library of critically acclaimed games.
the moment big mods start releasing it will go to overwhelmingly positive in no time
the only mod that can work for this piece of shit is total conversion mod with a completely new world, story and characters.
let's be real OG skyrim is 6/10 without mods as well. it only got better scores and recognition because it was multiplatform and fantasy genre is normie tier while space exploration gays have much higher standards
Will the next Elder Scrolls game be even good? I feel like Bethesda's formula on games are too dated now.
I kinda doubt it will have starfield's more crippling problems like the lack of a proper overworld, but this is Bethesda and they always find new ways to disappoint
Already 20% off. 33% during the winter sale?
