>the gang commenting on collateral damage in Niez when Shionne already made a point that war can't be waged without sacrifice >hamfisted Dahnan rebels can be bad too!!!!!! message >Dedyme and Dark Wings going crazy from hatred when lynching Almeidrea triggering the hollowing (UGH HATE BAD nvm that they died of fricking fruit) >Law stopping Rinwell because of the tired YOU WILL BE JUST AS BAD shounenshit writing adding pointless melodrama
I mean anyone who knows JRPG storytelling could have seen it coming. I was streaming this game with some friends and we basically cobbled together the entire story before I was done with Cyslodia.
>Law stopping Rinwell because of the tired YOU WILL BE JUST AS BAD shounenshit writing adding pointless melodrama
Why do they keep doing this. This was absolutely moronic.
It's quite simple if you can use a few brain cells. Law had actually killed and is plagued with guilt and his unchecked emotions regarding his father's death, but he manages to hold it together after chatting with Alphen a few times. You'd know this if you didn't skip skits and fireside chats. He simply wanted to protect Rinwell from going through the same hell he went through. As to why, you should know this as well.
Say all you want about that scene but Law is in general right about not wanting her 14 years old crush to become a killer. And he knows because he felt like shit after killing Ganabelt. It should have just been presented better, like Almeidrea actually surrendering on the ship and Rinwell trying to kill her Punisher style, before Vholran shows up.
We are actually talking about a child, not Alphen, already a killer, or Shionne/Kisara/Dohalim, that are adults.
Prove me wrong You literally can't
and I really liked both Law and Rinwell, but that scene should have been absolutely done better
It has its flaws in Niez, the ship and Lenegis, loaded too much lore dump in the third act (but it was probably the only way since Lenegis, the space station and Rena is where the answers are logically).
Overall 7/10 story
9/10 characters and art direction
8/10 gameplay because the combat is fun but we can't better manage the AI of allies for specific character behaviours besides using boost attacks to manipulate their moves and pull them out of danger
10/10 ending BECAUSE THE MADLAD PIERCED HER FLOWER
>10/10 ending BECAUSE THE MADLAD PIERCED HER FLOWER
Unfathomably based moment
It's not a good ending if both MC and love interest are alive and they don't end up together
This
Law and Rinwell are at least good and sympathetic characters with great interactions with Alphen and Shionne
Kisara, holy shit, I wish she didn't drag Dohalim down with her emptyness, always repeating the same fricking shit..

it was OK up to the moon everything from that point on was garbage.

Not him, I made this post

That scene being made moronic on purpose did a disservice to Law as a character.
war being shitty doesnt mean you cant comment on just how shitty it is when you see it firsthand
Imagine being a Dedyme apologist, holy shit.
The ending was the most abrupt deus ex machina moment I've seen in a modern game.
You mean Lenegis? It was only showing cracks until then.
6/10 for me, the alien plot twist just fricking reeks of Trigger/DitF

Yeah, if you're a 12 years old
No, it was before that. Absolutely terrible.
the game peaked with Law spiking Ganabelt into the fake moon.
Close but no
