I've always wondered about a guard counter build.
Is it actually effective in PvE? Or do most mobs not give you enough of a breather for the guard counter to outpace their damage?
It's one of those things that is badass conceptually, but I'm not so sure how it would go practically.
I did it recently, as you can see up the top the two Talismans I'm wearing (Shield and Guard Counter Talismans) and Barricade Shield.
It's incredibly easy. One of the easiest builds I've done. It's very, very safe. Guard Counters not only do a lot of damage with the Guard Counter Talisman but a lot of posture damage. Pair it with a big weapon or a big weapon with frost on it like I did and you can breeze through everything.
Honestly had a lot of fun with it.
Rivers of Blood hardly even counts it's a very late game build and I never got why people complained so much outside of their inability to deal with rapid onset Bleed. It doesn't feel any more bullshit than lots of other late game Weapons. I find Mohgs spear to be way worse.
For PVE Great Shield + Barricade Str build is very safe and low risk.
Reduvia or really any early bleed build. I liked dual Great Knife with Blood Blade + Item Focus though the extensive need for farming was annoying, the naturally having Arcane made that go easier.
There are tonnes of ezmodo shit in Elden Ring. I've honestly never understood the DUDE RIVERS OF BLOOD shit since there is stuff much more egregious or even simplistic.
MLGS, Mohg's Sacred Ritual Spear, and the Blasphemous Blade all blow RoB out of the water.
Hell, even Double Slash Nagakiba or however the frick you spell that name is better than RoB.
the thing about these discussions is that subhumans that pvp in these games insert their opinions, probably why something like blashphemous blade for instance doesnt catch any flak
i love getting RoB or moonveil invaders, they are usually so ass that i dont even need to cast spells.
They just walk right into me expecting that i will die, until i out poise them and thwack them with the greatsword a couple times and they die instead.
Either that or they know how to dodge but i just feint a couple attacks and they fall for it every time ~w~
its still good but you have to lean into one of the aspects pre ng+ now, and if you are one of the few autists who like ng+ then this weapons shines the most there
why are Fromsofties so butthurt when more people can play their game? if anything it should be good thing since it keeps dev studio alive and produce more games and if they themself think game is too easy they can challenge themself with restrict use of some game mechanics but why forcing on others?
It really is bizarre mentality, I don't know why people are falling for it
Whats the advantage of using a seal ion off hand? never understood how it works, like blasphemous blade builds say to use an erd tree seal in off hand for faith S scale.
Does it still work if you're two handing the blade? Dont really understand how they compliment your weapon
They don't compliment your weapon. People just put them in the off-hand so they can still attack if they need to. There USED to be some glitches associated with casting tools in your main hand, but they're not a thing anymore.
??? I'm not sure what you're saying. You have your weapon in your main hand, then your seal in your off-hand. You can cast with your off-hand and attack with your main hand. So lets say you're using Erd Tree Seal in your Off-Hand and Blasphemous Blade in your main hand. You can cast an incantation to throw a Fireball, then if it's not dead, hit it with your sword?
Maybe I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, you did originally ask about seals in your off-hand?
No i just didnt realize people say to use seals in off hand to cast spells, I thought they were just weapon specific builds since they never mention using spells.
You and I did not play the same game. You literally used the newbie babby build. You did not beat Miquella. You did not defeat any of the bosses because of the babby summon. Cry.
You did not play the game
Yeah.
I like blasphemous blade more tbh, just sucks for fire resistant bosses.
Why are the shitposts on this board just stealing lingo from LGBT twitter?
easy bait
What's a similar 'ez mode' sword to rivers of blood? I'm kind of bored of it.
for me it's dual wield blood godskin pealer
try a guard counter build
I dont play pvp
could be fun but im not on ng+
it's fine in pve. all the bosses feel different

What place is that in ER? I just love the atmosphere.
The area before the lone godskin. It has all those crazy women singing and dancing. It's in Altus Plateau up the very top outside of the capital.
Thank you very much.
moonveil
I used that until I got ROB, blasphemous was fun but it got old too
How good is the rot dagger? Scorpion sting I think its called, I never see anyone making builds for it, does it suck?

Vigorlets just didn't like getting bodied by a single combo
Bloodhounds Fang
>hold r2
>win
Rykards blade

bolt of gransax was pretty fricking strong for pve at least
was killing mogh as a summon in 10 seconds spamming the skill
The white katana that sends out light beams. Whatever it was called.
DMGS with charge, skill and heavy attack damage up
the thing about these discussions is that subhumans that pvp in these games insert their opinions, probably why something like blashphemous blade for instance doesnt catch any flak
Blasphemous Blade is like a cheat code

i like this sowrd!
This was fun until they nerfed it really hard.
It’s still fun you big baby
its still good but you have to lean into one of the aspects pre ng+ now, and if you are one of the few autists who like ng+ then this weapons shines the most there
Can't wait to use the new OP DLC weapon all the e-celebs say is the best!

For me it's these frickers
stupidly op
I remember one phasing Mohg with them if not for the piss range they have they would be the best weapon in the game, still top tier though
For me it's the Marais Executioner's Sword
>hope the moveset is anywhere near as cool as the briar frick's
>it's not
boooooooooo
Doesn't look great for stabbing, innit
It's an executioner's sword.
I didn't know they could be like that, just always thought of them as big fricking swords
Did you miss out on the Executioner's Sword in DS3?
They're blunt at the tip since they're exclusively used for chopping.
I like the Gravity Weapons
Thematically they're cool as frick, but mostly just okay or slightly above average. I get a lot more damage out of other weapons or setups.
ruins gs carried my first playthrough, absolutely love that thing
>greatsword
What..?? How is that a gravity weapon?
Because it's size and girth creates it's own magnetic field. Like you mom LMAO.
Nah, I just like it but I put Waves of Darkness on it.

>You did not beat Miquella
what
>everything in op pic
>bloodhound leap
>vigor above 20
if you used any of that git gud
I decided to try an INT build for the first time in any FromSoft Game. Jesus this is literal easy mode.
Yep. I totally didn't just one-shot Mohg... haha
whats easy about it
Even the basic Glintstone Pebble knocks off massive amounts of health all game. Add in the phalanx and greatsword? Everything melts.
i mean, couldn't you say the same thing about any weapon with good scaling?
can't wait for the bone fist 2.0 aka the beast claws this shit will be hilarious to pair up with my mimic
