DS3 is basically Dark Souls: The Greatest Hits
has zero identity of its own, is ugly as sin, combat is rollspam shit, bosses all feel the same, linear, poor musical variety
Miyazaki barely even had a hand in developing it and it shows; he even asked why it started development without him (he was wrapped up with Bloodborne DLC at the time). Bandai just slapped his name on the box after DS2 received shit reception due to him not working on it, when in reality the other two directors were mostly responsible

    >"Miyazaki has no idea why Dark Souls 3 has been launched at the very beginning, the reason being that he was not involved in the development when the team was working on the prototype of DS3. During that time Miyazaki was concentrating himself on Bloodborne's production."

No wonder Dark Souls 3 is better than Bloodborne.

Bloodborne feels and looks like the tech demo version of Dark Souls 3 anyways.

Wtf are you smoking? DS3 felt like they just grabbed leftovers from Bloodborne and just added some areas from the first game. DS3 was disappointing, considering what the original DS3 was going to be.

Well people b***h that DS2 was so different so I don't know what you expect. If you like Dark Souls you probably like at least one of them.

        >Lol, 9/10+ across the board beg to differ
thats just because reviewers are moronic and wouldnt dare score it down for fear of being called 'casual'. DS2 was a turd. I will say at least it tried to be different whereas DS3 just felt like a rehash, but DS2's execution was pure crap. Most of all the combat felt awful, game felt like unresponsive ass, if you frick up the core gameplay it's just a shit game. Also the whole invincibilty frames tied to a stat without actually changing the animation is pure dogshit. Which fricktard made that decision?

This can also be said about 1 in that case. They played a bit of DeS, saw that a spiritual sequel was made, and called it great in fear of being called casuals. Same for Bloodborne and Sekiro by that logic.
          >Most of all the combat felt awful
How so? It's exactly as 1 but you have multidirectionnal rolls and the game is much less stiff.
          >game felt like unresponsive ass
First time I hear this, keyboard or controller? I finished the game over 15 times and it's just as responsive as any other FROM game.
          > if you frick up the core gameplay
Gameplay is literally 1 with added powerstancing and multi directionnal rolls
          >Which fricktard made that decision?
Someone who knows what RPG in action RPG means? Complaining about ADP is the same as saying "waaaa? I need to bump STR to use this huge hammer?!?! WHY?!" or "uuuh? Why would I have to bump END to be able to run longer?!?!". If stats, in a fricking aRPG game trigger you, play Sekiro.
Having choice in how you make your build is the definition of good design. If you are getting hit a lot, you can bump health, if you don't get hit, you can invest your points into something else instead. At the start you have much less iframes than in 1. If you get hit too much, then bump ADP, if you don't get hit, bump some other stat. Just like with armor. I never wore heavy armor or shields in any soulsborne game, so I invested my stats into something else. But someone who isn't very good at vidya will probably want to use armors and shields or maybe even upgrade them. I put my first 10 points in ADP and don't touch it for the rest of the game.

I can't get over how fricking dead and boring every area is in DS3. They leave no lasting impression and look the same.

      >dancer
      >midir
      >gael
      >friede
      >nameless king
All these bosses feel the same to you? There are so many legitimate reasons to rail on ds3, but the one thing it actually does right are the boss fights. The only decent boss fight in the entirety of ds1 is o&s and for every good ds2 boss there are a dozen bottom of the barrels ones

There are literally no good DS2 bosses, even muh samurai dude feels lame as frick.

It is garbage. If I want to play the best RAW Action game by FromSoftware, I play Sekiro. If I want to play the best RAW RPG by FromSoftware, I play Dark Souls 2.

    Sekiro > Dark Souls 2 > Bloodborne > Dark Souls > Dark Souls 3 > Demon's Souls

With Elden Ring being a true sequel to Dark Souls 2, it might surpass Dark Souls 2.

Jesus Christ. Does Ganker now pretend that DS2 wasn't a complete pile of trash. I hated the base game of DS2, the only saving grace was the expansions. If it weren't for them I would have quit the moment I started.

DS2 even looks better. And the torch goes out when you roll in water. You could really just roll your way through DS3 kek.

yeah if you roll in dark souls 2 you still get hit. must be because of advanced ai. now THAT is great gameplay!

But you see the DS2 player roll away and not get hit? Imagine that, rolling AWAY from attacks instead of right into them. Crazy.

    >masterpiece
Lets just SWARM the player with MOBS! Because that's hardD, right! Lets make it so even a rat and dog can stagger you in full heavy armor! Because that will make the game so challenging, am I right!? Also lets give every enemy crazy poise and the player none of it so they get punished for even attacking the enemies. Bravo miyazaki that's really really hard! Also the enemies can go completely ape shit, jump around, and spasitcally do 10 hit combos while the only thing you can do is awkwardly spam roll and attack in place. Wow, that's really hard Miyazaki you're so smart.

You can easily sneak around those jailers by using side cells and corridors, the area is literally designed for that

You only need to engage them if you want to recruit Karla

    Based Non contrarian.
I say contrarian in the board and its users as a reference because outside everybody knows that DS3 is a masterpiece.
