No its just a more tactical fallout. See in 1 and 2 you had no tactics, but in Tactics they added the ability to use tactics. Crazy how games can evolve in real time...
Fallout 1 was a full Tactics less than Fallout Tactics, while Fallout 2 was Tactics divided by 2 times better. The progress in gaming is astounding.

Did the writers know ANYTHING about fallout? Caps were used as a way of tying water supply to currency in Fallout 1. In Fallout 2, everyone used NCR money because they were the dominant faction. There literally is no fricking reason for them to use caps in Boston in ""Fallout"" 4. What the frick were they thinking?
The best part is that this character is literally Emil's self-insert gag character. He was so close, it was right there. And it is written off as a joke.
Bethesda doesn't do a good job at making a believable or interesting world. They clearly were fans of Fallout 1 and decided to just emulate Fallout 1's world even though their games take place 200 and 210 years after the bombs and people still live like Indians. Why do they use caps in the east coast even though their water isn't drinkable? Well its because they used caps in 1 so they got to use it in Fallout 3/4. Bethesda just doesn't know how to world build.
I'm playing it now for the first time. Previously only played new vegas. The gameplay itself is vastly better. I couldn't give less of a frick about the "muh son" plotline though. It's fricking annoying.
that's good. Is there a way to disable the dynamic music? it's extremely obnoxious. The only way I've found is to listen to the radio but the radio music gets old after a while.
This remains the only Fallout game I was too bored with to complete. I am thankful that it was so unbelievably dull it made me completely ignore 76 and Starfield.
People living in shacks made up of old cars and rusted sheet metal 200 years after the bombs is fricking lazy.
Nevermind that they still eat 200 year old food or wear clothes that even drug addicted hobos would throw away.
It's a plot by big pharma to increase revenue through an artificial demand for excessive tetanus shots. If you try to build a house out of brick, wood, or any other material; they will kick it down while screaming that it is logistically impossible to move these materials.
>Day 1. Woke up in the bunker, overrun with zombies. Barely managed to escape but I should come back later to clear it and search for supplies, find out what happened. All I managed to grab was an old gas mask and a rusty boxcutter. Thought the surface would be better but it was already night outside and the air is toxic. I don't have much time before my gas mask filter runs out, I must find more equipment or a safe place quickly... It is hell on earth. Creatures are roaming the old neighborhood... Everyone is dead... yet the tincan is still alive somehow. Almost bled to death but miraculously found bandages and a pistol in some of the old houses. Found this old cellar with a dirty mattress, thank God it is safe here. I will stash my loot and rest for the night. Am low on ammo but should clear the other houses when the sun rises.
yeah combat is great in F4, except automatic rifles, those are really boring
non-stealth melee was much better in NV, you had a bunch of special moves and the ability to damage mirelurks
Yeah, but what purpose does the gameplay in FO4 serve? The enemies aren't fun to fight, in fact I'd argue they got worse. Guns? They all suck. Level design got worse too. Storytelling and immersion, a feeling of adventure? Non-existent.
The hate towards Fallout 4 comes from a very passionate and niche sector that loves role playing games. The truth is that Fallout 4 is well received by the casual gaming audience, it cas a cool interesting aesthetic, is colorful and it's violent.
People hate fallout 4 because it's success means a major focus on aspects that take it further away from an rpg. In Fallout 4 you only have one playstyle which is the shooty murder psycho, speech and the other skills are just extras to get rewards, not actual playstyles.
it should've been called "Fallout 4 Pajeets" lmao
was pajeet sweatshops for vidya a thing in 2015? feels like a more recent thing
>was pajeet sweatshops for vidya a thing in 2015? feels like a more recent thing
yeah
Shilling for this game is unreal
Unicorn I get, DDogma 2 I get, Censored Blade I get
What is the point of this
>What is the point of this
Fallout 4 just had a patch that rekt the frick outta all modded saves and this is all damage control mode
by your logic fallout 76 was 76 times better
Fallout new vegas is fallout 1 but times new vegas better
It is
What does that even mean
Fallout Tactics is just Fallout 1 but times Tactics better
Stop
Fallout 76 is Fallout 4 but 19 times better
Fallout 1 was a full Tactics less than Fallout Tactics, while Fallout 2 was Tactics divided by 2 times better. The progress in gaming is astounding.

Fallout 4 is Fallout 2 but 2 times better
Shill
It's fallout 1 with 1 times the sons
it's boring
t. FO3 and FONV enjoyer
He's spitting facts tho
even a bunch of morons wearing hockey pads in the desert came up with a better system

but it's cool and quirky and different that they use caps instead of money!
They almost weren't thinking at all; BGS's understanding of Fallout is theme-park level shallow.
bethesda Fallout is literally REMEMBER THING?? namedropping

Emil didn't even realize that the intro of Fallout 1 opened with Nate Fallout committing a war crime.
Emil didn't even realize that he is a head writer for the fallout games, dude seriously thought he was getting paid to shit post.
I'm playing it now for the first time. Previously only played new vegas. The gameplay itself is vastly better. I couldn't give less of a frick about the "muh son" plotline though. It's fricking annoying.
you're in luck, then, because the game doesn't really care much about it either.
that's good. Is there a way to disable the dynamic music? it's extremely obnoxious. The only way I've found is to listen to the radio but the radio music gets old after a while.
If you like looter shooters, Fallout 4 is serviceable.
Why are you addicted to this fake console war shit?
fallout: a post nuclear role playing game is just fallout 1 but a post nuclear role playing game better
the update did nothing. its a broken mess. Loading instances takes you two minutes even on high end PCs
and everything is an instance in a Beth game

>4000 mods to turn Fallout into a worse Stalker
this is somehow more embarrassing than people trying to make Skyrim into a souls game
When is a good time to do the extra quests they added in the next-gen update? Before you hop on DLC?
fallout 4 has level scaling, you can do them whenever
I don't get the hate FO4 gets. The roleplaying is worse, at least outside of far Harbor, but the actual gameplay is much more fun than 3 and Vegas.
is roleplaying not gameplay in a roleplaying game?
I guess it's part of it, but I specifically mea the running around, the shooting and such.

Bethesda kind of reversed themselves with Starfield, no? I havenät played it, but for all its faults I heard at least the roleplaying was better.
Exquisite taste
I don't care for the original Fallout or Fallout 2.
They have aged poorly, are clunky to play & are overly depressing.
Will Sanctuary ever get attacked or am I just setting up turrets and such for fashion?
Yea but it's only 33% better than Fallout 3, which was 50% better than Fallout 2
