I got stuck in a first level after the first quest hub, the one where you can hear hunters on the radio preparing a trap for you, the level has a library, a kitchen/bar you blow up, and a bus. You have to have it in you. For something like total conversion it's quite simple as the AI and level editor is already done, you really need to just level design and make your own sprites and weapon animations which is not that much work compared to standard AA development. UE5 is changing AA too, now you have full scripts you just paste into your network because 99% of the time someone figured it out before you and posted it online.
silicon is food safe

The animations imitating an FPS were obviously edited to look cinematic, this does not and it would be weird if he was making it to trick people into thinking its a real mod instead of making something that looks better.
I was living in a studio apt in 2008, taking days off work to play Fallout 3. Now I live in a mansion and I just play games while pretending to work from home. Loving the collapse bros. Bring on the nukes next.

Oh yeah? Please tell me more.
The games honestly look better as a pixelated mess than with filters. Some of the new modern filters are okay, but I see most people playing with frickin trilinear and it looks like total shit, just blurry nonsense.
I played these games as a kid and they were pixelated, so I like that look. I'm used to it and honestly thinks it looks better this way than with a filter, as that's the intended look and what the art design was focused on. I just do it at 1080p and 60 fps now. There's a lot of animation smoothing mods that are really good.
real answer is the engine feels good but more importantly the foundation is already there, i think prodeus feels better than any doom mod purely from shooting perspective but thats a unity game and required hell of a lot more work
Doesn't matter to me.
The majority of Fallout's charm lies in the writing and extensive dialogue trees, Something that fan games deliver at Bethesda level at best.
Looks like shit, will play like shit, graf zahl is a hack fraud and his engine runs on the cpu. This will probably be even less rpg and more shooter than fallout 4 and 76 combined but will get a free pass because muh heckin nostalgia pixelshit.
Been here longer than you, homosexual. This is at best going to be a straight up shooter, and all the people crying about bethesda games and praising new vegas and the like will suddenly not say a word about this. This is nostalgia baiting for impotent homosexuals.
>gzdoom
red888guns does good work but jesus fricking christ why is everyone so allergic to using proper fricking 3d game engines instead of raping doom source ports. is using id tech 2 or 3 really that much more difficult?? also this guy getting snatched up by fricking new blood/dave oshry is sad 🙁
indie game development is mature enough that simply developing a 3d game isn't that difficult + they have new blood funding them so it's even more viable, plus they're probably making 3d backgrounds already for their fallout-inspired rpg + low-poly 3d is still "in" with normies atm (albeit mostly ps1/n64-inspired stuff), i don't get it. it is true that older id tech is pretty hard to work with (the wrath dudes are using darkplaces and are presumably going to be in early access for another 20 years) but a competent developer could presumably fake the look pretty well in unity or godot
[...]
[...]
Play Hedon you stupid c**ts, contains more compelling gameplay than your homosexual generic lifeishard apocalypse simulator
>simply developing a 3d game isn't that difficult
It's not the difficulty per se. Making sheet of sprites is just orders of magnitude smaller effort than adding a new model with all the bells and whistles. There is a reason why indies are so averse to 3D. Even a small game will take years for tiny team.
>simply developing a 3d game isn't that difficult
Making 3D models + animation is hard. You have to create model, texture it, rig it, keyframe it and add custom sound effect. That is single animation. One person would do this for a long time. 2D and pseudo 3D games like Doom mods are much easier in this regard and the keyframing requires only few key points.
Unless you know an easier way to make 3D there are no shortcuts.
good 3d modeling and animation isn't easy by any means, but churning out high quality 2d spritework is fricking hard as shit too, if you don't already have skilled artists on standby then it's a nightmare - plus, blender has made 3d modeling pretty accessible to people who actually want to learn it and it's foss. i am fairly confident that a small team with a few full-time artists could crank out a fully 3d game with 6th gen-quality assets or better in a few years if they knew what they were doing, the tech is there, more resources are available and people are simply more experienced at making 3d games than they were a decade ago.
Once again, 3d games really, really need a team of artists and these are in short supply for indies.
Anonymous
fair, but there are still quite a few 3d artists fishing around for work and exposure on sites like twitt*r these days and if you've lucked out you might already have a few of them as friends who believe in your shit and are willing to work for you. the biggest sticking point i can think of atm for even small-scale indie development is paying your team a living wage, if i have 5 developers who i'm all paying $50,000 to work on a project for 4 years then that's a million bucks down the drain already, even if i stretched my budget by using a foss engine and sticking to word-of-mouth marketing, not to mention that there are already too many fricking indie games on the market as-is and i'd have to cater to a seriously autistic niche (which i'd probably be doing as-is) to get any eyes on my work
Doom played through GZDoom, especially with default settings, is a crude facsimile of Doom.
Don't get me wrong, the engine is (sadly) the best option for putting Doom modding skills towards creating stand-alone games, but your "favorite Doomtuber" is full of shit and prefers the idea of Doom over the actual game.
Being able to actually aim up and down and turn off all auto aim is nice, who cares if some arbitrary numbers I don't even know about aren't exactly the same. It's Doom, it looks and acts like how I remember it, but better, f u. I kill u.
If it's just a shooter then I wouldn't be interested. You'd have the opportunity to make a great immersive and interesting first person rpg and you squander that idea on another dime-a-dozen boomer shooter. No thanks
I thought it was very smart to do that transition from isometric view into FP view when fighting the game. I'd play it just for the experience. I don't really like the series though.

in theory yes
I just looked it up and its on vr but no vr weapons as of yet. Damn I hope it gets VR weapons, it would be amazing.

It's like that because that's kind of how walls work in Doom.

I'm used to it and honestly thinks it looks better this way than with a filter, as that's the intended look and what the art design was focused on. I just do it at 1080p and 60 fps now. There's a lot of animation smoothing mods that are really good.
modern engine != gud graphixx
based moron
real answer is the engine feels good but more importantly the foundation is already there, i think prodeus feels better than any doom mod purely from shooting perspective but thats a unity game and required hell of a lot more work
>it's real because it looks like in the actual game
lmao what a homosexual
homosexual is the typical "MODDED NEW VEGAS 2022 IS UNREAL!!!!" with a shitty enb attached to stutter the game to hell.
SHUT IT DOWN!
If the Bethesda Fallouts were like this, then I'd play the shit out of them.
they would be a hell of a lot more honest about not being RPGs, at least.
Doesn't matter to me.
The majority of Fallout's charm lies in the writing and extensive dialogue trees, Something that fan games deliver at Bethesda level at best.
Looks like shit, will play like shit, graf zahl is a hack fraud and his engine runs on the cpu. This will probably be even less rpg and more shooter than fallout 4 and 76 combined but will get a free pass because muh heckin nostalgia pixelshit.
youre not fitting in
Been here longer than you, homosexual. This is at best going to be a straight up shooter, and all the people crying about bethesda games and praising new vegas and the like will suddenly not say a word about this. This is nostalgia baiting for impotent homosexuals.
still not fitting in
Wouldn’t it be a gay boy in denial?
the straight guy is on the right
>GZDoom
lol
>all the seething zoomies ITT
What is it about older games that makes them so anally frustrated?
Total Chaos showed the potential of RPGs made in the Doom source ports.
Let me know when someone makes an Elder Scrolls game in it.
is total chaos an rpg? i thought it was just a horror shooter with inventory and equipment management
It has some basic RPG elements iirc, but that game is something else.
>gzdoom
red888guns does good work but jesus fricking christ why is everyone so allergic to using proper fricking 3d game engines instead of raping doom source ports. is using id tech 2 or 3 really that much more difficult?? also this guy getting snatched up by fricking new blood/dave oshry is sad 🙁
>is using id tech 2 or 3 really that much more difficult?
Making art for them sure is. 3D games with 3d models animations require teams.
indie game development is mature enough that simply developing a 3d game isn't that difficult + they have new blood funding them so it's even more viable, plus they're probably making 3d backgrounds already for their fallout-inspired rpg + low-poly 3d is still "in" with normies atm (albeit mostly ps1/n64-inspired stuff), i don't get it. it is true that older id tech is pretty hard to work with (the wrath dudes are using darkplaces and are presumably going to be in early access for another 20 years) but a competent developer could presumably fake the look pretty well in unity or godot
picrel
>simply developing a 3d game isn't that difficult
It's not the difficulty per se. Making sheet of sprites is just orders of magnitude smaller effort than adding a new model with all the bells and whistles. There is a reason why indies are so averse to 3D. Even a small game will take years for tiny team.
it already takes most """boomer shooter""" devs 9 years to finish a doom engine game that's been out for half a decade in early access :^)
>simply developing a 3d game isn't that difficult
Once again, 3d games really, really need a team of artists and these are in short supply for indies.
fair, but there are still quite a few 3d artists fishing around for work and exposure on sites like twitt*r these days and if you've lucked out you might already have a few of them as friends who believe in your shit and are willing to work for you. the biggest sticking point i can think of atm for even small-scale indie development is paying your team a living wage, if i have 5 developers who i'm all paying $50,000 to work on a project for 4 years then that's a million bucks down the drain already, even if i stretched my budget by using a foss engine and sticking to word-of-mouth marketing, not to mention that there are already too many fricking indie games on the market as-is and i'd have to cater to a seriously autistic niche (which i'd probably be doing as-is) to get any eyes on my work

time to dress a pumpkin in a purple wig and hang it from a tree
Doom played through GZDoom, especially with default settings, is a crude facsimile of Doom.
Don't get me wrong, the engine is (sadly) the best option for putting Doom modding skills towards creating stand-alone games, but your "favorite Doomtuber" is full of shit and prefers the idea of Doom over the actual game.
Being able to actually aim up and down and turn off all auto aim is nice, who cares if some arbitrary numbers I don't even know about aren't exactly the same. It's Doom, it looks and acts like how I remember it, but better, f u. I kill u.
*does so* Now what, b***h?
Play Hedon you stupid c**ts, contains more compelling gameplay than your homosexual generic lifeishard apocalypse simulator
*heavy's voice* No!
Can someone please respond to the zoomie post? It’s weird, no one is giving them attention, pretend to be bothered by it or something.
their game was good, but the combat was pretty weak which is a big downside for an rpg, no matter how great the world and story is
Dont give me hope.
For real, they are literally trying to imitate us
Give them a W, they are the future
If it's just a shooter then I wouldn't be interested. You'd have the opportunity to make a great immersive and interesting first person rpg and you squander that idea on another dime-a-dozen boomer shooter. No thanks
>we will be playing the real Fallout 3 soon
>we will be modding the real Fallout 3 soon
YES
that's kinda neat
why would you shill this gay reviewer over the actual teaser? all he offers is speculation
wait so is this just the first 2 fallout games in 12st person?
I thought it was very smart to do that transition from isometric view into FP view when fighting the game. I'd play it just for the experience. I don't really like the series though.
I don't give a shit, that shit will never come out
I just want the translatiooooooooooooooooooooon
>linking some homosexual's explanation video instead of the actual trailer
shiggy diggy doo
>You can tell that it's real because of the way that it is
Wow! I never thought of it like that!
