I just couldn't justify wasting time on the pointless & time gated crafted weapon grind or grinding for a Rugged weapon, nor did I feel like grinding other Classes through another fricking PSE Slogfest
It's bearable. Retem was fun. Kvaris isn't. I snowboard and toss rocks, which is a nice change of pace, but it's not yet a year to the changes they promised. Not yet. Soon.
The throwing and snowboarding are a nice small mixup to the formula but the overall gameplay loop still sucks. Veteran enemies being on a 5 minute respawn timer is a step in the right direction but none of the classes are engaging or fun enough to make me want to do that for more than like 15-20 minutes at a time. There's also no sense of progression with anything you do really.
The crafted weapon is yet another example of the team handling NGS fricking up things that were fine in PSO2 Classic. The weapon should be craftable completely with gathering materials or materials easily farmed from bosses.. having to get a Rokz weapon first is absolutely moronic for the craft/exchange weapon.. some are still going for like 2-8 million meseta. Not keeping augments and stuff is another point that is just absurd. Blizzardium really should be farmable from actually playing the game in some way instead of letting players make these stupid farm strategies that puts a huge chunk of the already small population alone in passworded rooms, what a terrible thing for an MMO.

The normal attack followup after 3 chained katana PA's is stupid strong, AND it has a massively long passive counter window if you stay still after doing it, which also shits out its own high damage attack AND lets you do the normal attack followup AGAIN, you can literally just chain those for as long as an enemy keeps hitting into your Fearless Attitude bubble after the finisher.
There is nothing decent, it actively gets worse the longer you play.
Snowboarding would be good, but the terrain in Kvaris kills it. If snowboards were in Aelio or Retem, they'd be amazing.
I really like that they actually put some thought into the level design between the snowboard and farming and gathering spots. Like the slopes naturally push your snowboard down routes to get all of your important materials and are by good farm spots to run over mobs for affix farming.
I think the current main blunder was just how they handled the gorge as an endgame zone. It's a cute experiment but just for whatever reason they didn't make it rewarding enough so everyone just farmed their ancients and abandoned the place. I wish fighting the mobs inside the gorge was more rewarding to warrant people actually farming instead of just room hopping for faster ancient spawns. Outside of that I think Falz R2 is surprisingly fun and it's impressive the amount of work they actually put into it. I hope more hard mode content like it shows up in the future because it's just a fun thing to have in the game if you have a group of friends willing to run with you.

You sound like a moron. All the places featuring the board are littered with things to hit to keep your speed boost off CD and hills to keep momentum. If you are having issue keeping your speed in the areas with the board that sounds like a legitimate skill issue.
Theres maybe two cliffs, the one by the board by the south kvaris ryuker you'd jump off of to reach the cave with the ores and the cliff down to the beach with the mag in west kvaris that seem to have jank collision that sucks all your momentum away but you can either jump before you reach the cliff side to not hit the lip that sucks your momentum or jump again after losing it and press your boost to clear the cliff and immediately gain top speed again.

Kvaris is terrible. Pain in the ass to navigate, everything looks the fricking same (even worse than Retem's desert areas), gathering materials is a gigantic pain in the ass as they are only in tiny patches unlike in the other to regions where they were everywhere, and North Kvaris is nothing but a gigantic mountain with sheer sides meaning there's very little actual ground anywhere and thus virtually nothing to fight/gather.
Also STILL the same fricking enemy types from Aelio. Same birds, apes, wolves and now yetis from base PSO2 and the exact same type of enemy DOLL generic units with the only new difference being the gun ones have piercing persistent icethrower effects.
Going to stick around until the new Summoner replacement class arrives to see how bad it is compared to base Summoner then I'm finally giving up. They had a year and have made 0 improvements to the game.
All the ships are mega dead as the game is bleeding players. Ship 2 was the most populated during PSO2 days but now there's only one block that gets more than halfway full. Virtually nobody bothers hunting Gigantixes either so unless you happen to be the current popular farming zone good luck killing it without dying of boredom.
I'm on ship 3 and it's fine. On all ships, everyone is in the latest region. The grind is deft farming, bliz farming or captan. All of which requires people and room resetting. There's also vet farming and ancients but I don't think it's worth to do unless you're out of Icicle Cubes. I don't like the room reset meta so it's probably good you're not redownloading it.
It's better, but it's definitely not good. Core gameplay needs an overhaul, I do my dailies and I'm basically unwilling to do more unless a UQ is coming up because it's just kind of boring. Airboard and throwing aren't nearly involved enough mechanics to break the monotony.

Here in ship 4 we have 1 full block and another halfway with a bunch of smaller ones in Kvaris, retem is kill and there is 1 halfway full block in aelio for newbies.
If Sega actually gave a shit beyond making easy gacha bucks this could have been a good transition to a more traditional MMORPG format. Amazed we still don't have party beacons, and if you're doing an open world, at least put in a modicum of effort to make it feel lived in and vibrant. Put some upgraded form of CARD Revolution as a minigame, guild rooms, personal quarters, etc. You can't hold off on these things if your gameplay can't carry the rest of the game, and NGS gameplay cannot.
Party Beacons also exist in the form of yourself being a moving party beacon through Party Recruitment but it's never explained in game so people never join up and isn't a good alternative to Party Beacons at all. I think they're trying to re implement it again but can't because of engine limitations. Party features have slowly been getting better but it's not at that point yet..
I almost like the snowboard, but it has so many little things that keep it from being great.
