The game itself isn't bad. The microtransactions, and performance are bad.
it's the best video game since elden ring. it's a masterpiece.
That would be Baldurs Gate 3.
What was so good about Baldurs Gay 3?it had good graphics and voice acting but the story was shit, 90% of the locations were shit, most enemies were shit, bosses were shit, majority of items were shit and the game ends at low level because larian are too stupid to design actual tactical encounters with high level play.
It had more enemies than goblins and wolves.
what difficulty did you play on? also high level 5e fricking sucks
it's just ok, not worth 70 shekels
No game is.
From what I gather, it's not bad, it's just a disappointment even when you compare it to DD1's base game. I haven't played it, though.
It's kinda bad. 6/10 for sure, 7/10 at moments when cool stuff happens. But nothing pulls it up to 8/10 levels because even though the combat is polished, it has that realism bullshit holding it back so you can never do anything really interesting. And the music and story is just bad and there's nothing else in the game since the world is devoid of cool things to find or even monsters since the variety is lower than the first game.
Also it's REALLY easy, the difficulty curve is tuned for double digit girl gamers so they can stream it.
Nobody who's actually played vanilaa DD1 will claim it's better than 2 unless they are a troony.
furries and Black folk the game
the number of black people is fricking dumb. Then they should have included asian people too. Black people don't make sense in medieval settings.
Bakbattahl should have been arabs
>poor framerate? First had it no big de-
>every other conceivable aspect of the game BUTCHERED
I planned on making two old guys that were going to use holy and dark magic. But seems grapnel, necromancy, miasma, exequy, and every other unique spell just got tossed to the brine.
It's just exactly Dragons Dogma 1 with way too many encounters on the road. I'm enjoying it but it's not better than DA and traveling is a pain in the ass.
Seek professional help.
It outsold every other Japanese game released this year, so no.
and then I cauterize the thread
>can't hi-five pawn
refunded
My character is smallest size dwarf and I can high five every pawn without issues so I don’t know what happened there
modded sliders
once you go under or over a certain amount shit breaks
basically he's moronic
Don't know I'm waiting for a discount before I buy it. I'm hoping it's in a playable state by then. Did the same thing with cyberpunk and that turned out to be good after all the patches.
the game feels like a weird in between mix of ass creed ubislop and first romancing saga. like theres lots of weird and interesting systems at play but they arent implemented fully and just end up as head scratchers rather than compelling things to engage with.
ive had a lot of fun but its got some issues especially when held up against the first one, a bit over streamlined, performance and
>like theres lots of weird and interesting systems at play but they arent implemented fully and just end up as head scratchers rather than compelling things to engage with.
the potential could be great but as with most games its not there nor really deserving of being a full priced game just because big
A question to people that played or are playing this game.
Did you use the "pause healing" feature during battle?
If so then how does it feel to be a total casual? I didn't know that before yesterday because I never used healing items during battle, but apparently even if you get hit by a lethal attack, you can still pause at 0 hp and heal yourself with items. I saw a streamer "kill" a griffin after dying 4 times and healing from the menu. What is the point? You're basically invincible for as long as you have healing items on your inventory if you use pause healing.
Damn this game is made for babies.
Dying in combat is almost impossible anyway, 90% of your deaths are due to fall damage and you can't pause heal there
it's great but it does in fact run like shit. Give it some time I guess or get used to choppy frame rates and whirring pc fans
It is a complete downgrade from the first.
>The story doesn't hook you in at any point, you spend half of the game doing menial tasks and reporting to the homie at the bar at night, it takes a long time for anything remotely interesting to happen
>The combat is literally the same as the first game, but somehow much easier, I don't know how to explain, but it feels like every big monster spends most of the fight being staggerd and getting thrown around like ragdolls, they barely fight back if you keep pressuring
>No interesting NPCs, you can search every DD2 thread you want to, none of the npcs are funny or got something cool going on, they are just there to give you quests and sometimes to inch the plot forward
>Somehow has less enemy variety than the prequel, which I felt had pretty limited enemy variety to begin with
>The map is around 5x larger than DD1's, but the only difference is that there is more empty space between point A and B, filled with repetitive mobs, exploration very very rarely rewards you at all
>The endgame and the ending itself came abruptly like they suddenly realized they had ran out of time and had to release the game, the dragon fight is a direct downgrade in every way
>The music is worse, made by the hack that composed for MH Rise, and the performance sucks ass, the game doesn't even look that good and yet runs like shit inside big cities.
>take my time completing unmoored and NG
>farmed crystals to get top tier weapons and armor and upgrades
>me and pawn decked out
>yesssss, time for a challenge in NG+, now the fun really begins
>rush through the quarry and get to first inn
>crack my knuckles as I change into my freshly minted Magick Archer armor, pick up my big dick bow
>proceed to one shot literally fricking everything before I fall asleep
wtf were they thinking, where is the scaling, the additional enemies sprinkled throughout to bolster existing patrols, higher enemy health pools and more damaging attacks….the frick is the actual point? resistance to sleep and poison? who gives a frick when I can just delete the enemy before it knows I’m there
fuuuuuuuckkkkkk, I want my money and time back, NOW
So you got like a 100 hours of enjoyment out of it and now you're crying?
>dude, just shut up, you beat the game
pathetic, I expected more from this ‘vision’ of Itsuno, not a literal shell of a game…imagine not having a hard mode or enemy scaling in a 2024 game, take Capcoms ballsack out of your mouth
Use the difficulty mod. That's my plan for ng+
It's gonna be awesome. I can't wait
It's okay but I don't blame people who were really excited for it being disappointed. I like it but I didn't have really high expectations. It's much more Dragon's Dogma Too than Dragon's Dogma 2.
I don't really understand what happened by the end of the story. From using the godsbane to myself onwards I was lost. Was that the brine in the sky? And who was the old guy on the boat in the post-credits?
That was the brine and the old guy was the Arisen at Harve Village. The story is moronic though.
Did the brine fuse with Grigori and that is why the unmoored world happened? Or what did cause the state of the world to become this way? What did the Pathfinder even want?
The old guy that lives by the ocean at Harve Village.
As far as I can tell, you find a way to "cheat" the typical Arisen-Dragon cycle by just killing yourself and the dragon at the same time and then feeding you both to the Brine. The Brine was actually Elder God power all this time that either kept everyone playing nice in accordance with the cycle, or was the thing that the cycle was designed to hold back, I'm not really sure. The Pathfinder was GigaGrigori the whole time, somehow, despite being a step higher than the Seneschal even though he looks just like the Seneschal did? He just wanted to watch everything but you fricked it up for him so he let the Brine go wild. And the rest makes no sense no matter what way you look at it.
Is the Seneschal even a factor in DD2?
Rothais was the Seneschal.
It's a solid 6.5/10.
Buy it on sale once all the DLC is bundled in.
TEST
Probably worse than it seems tbh, DD1 sucked despite Gankeriggers shilling it for so long. DD2 must be even worse given the "conflict"
The game is great
Much better than Baldur Gay 3 aka the troony sex simulator
im not picking it up until the no Black folk mod comes out
bg3 is not an unfinished mess and an underwhelming sequel that was forgotten in a week.
BG3 was literally sold unfinished on steam for years while they were working on it lmao
thats what early access is you fricking mong
That's literally what I said you fricking imbecile
you're equating bg3's early access to this game's full release moron
They're both functionally the same, BG3 fans literally paid for an unfinished game to develop themselves and ruin their save multiple times LMAO
>DD2 is functionally an early access game.
yeah we can agree on that.
All videogames released nowadays are early access though
It has inexcusably bad performance, but the actual game is decent. Not as good as Dark Arisen but better than most games of the last 2 years. Still 1000 times better than shit like Starfield.
who /mystic spearhand/ here
I am only /mystic knight/
no, it's great ,but after 12 years of waiting and 7 years of devtime , it feels like dd2 v0.7
I was going to give it a 7/10 but I'm dropping my score to a 6/10 after Talos almost bricked my save file.
It's mediocre, unremarkable, and disappointing. Very soulless and feels half finished.
discussion of this games seems to be people rabidly defending it and people who are disappointed.
You're mentally ill
Truly a riveting conclusion
It's not bad at all, it's great. It's addictive and it's exactly the sequel I wanted. I play it on PS5 though, and apparently the Capcom team fricked up the PC release.
>DD2 is completely mid until the quote-unquote post-game, then its tropey plot gets interesting (Phaesus the evil vizier is good and based actually) and it becomes Jason and the Argonauts tier kino on a three hour timer
What a weird game.
The plot is more interesting in the postgame but I wouldn't say it's close to the best part of the game. There's not much to explore and you pretty much just go and kill a couple of bosses and get a cutscene final boss. It could have been great if they expanded on it more, but the way they present it with the title drop as though the real game starts there is not something it lives up to.
No it's not. It's not actually that good as well. It's pretty average. It's Dragon's Dogma but with graphical improvements.
>Fun
>Good creator
>Lots to do / explore
>Performance 80% fixed on PS5
>Gonna get even better from the DLC + future patches
I don't see a problem. Game is good, DD1 whiners need to stop pretending their game was anything more than a bad game that also had interesting concepts.
>>Fun
sure
>>Good creator
yes
>>Lots to do / explore
false
80% fixed on PS5
who cares
get even better from the DLC + future patches
cope
It's ok tbh, I think all this homosexualry is marketing. Wait for a sale and check it out, or don't.
I held off for 5 days, reading Gankers reviews and watching videos on the good and bad, etc.
I bought it, and have about 32 hours played so far. I can say that the gameplay is VERY fun. There's all kinds of interactions that happen during combat that just makes it very entertaining and enjoyable.
However, obviously, there's bad parts. The performance is not great, but it runs well enough for me on my midrange rig. The vocations are dumbed down. The quests aren't that fun, but I do them anyway. Game looks pretty good though in the right spots. Overall, I'd give it a 8/10 on its best days, and 5.5 or 6/10 on its worst days.
Is it worth $70? If you're a poorgay, probably not. If you aren't dying for the money and want to play a decent game, sure, pick it up. Capcom should have waited longer to release it for sure, but whatever, it's alright.
>poorgay
I think this has a lot to do with it. Well and men who think they can be wimin.
Where is the wieneratrice? Where is the hydra? Where are the not-beholders? I'm making sure not to include anything from Dark Arisen.
it was ok I guess
>its a poor mans Diablo 4
game is just an absolute yikes all round, where are the repeatable dungeons, the endless endgames, the challenge, the loot…this is a ‘one-and-done’ game, a terrible look for Capcom selling this at $70+tip. its a $30-40 purchase MAX
>Absolutely no characters that draw you in or make you feel attached to them
>Still can't make your pawn your beloved, more than a decade later they kept their dumbass affinity system (which can be funny)
>The fricking main questline is clearly unfinished and was rushed out the door, get ready to pay $50 for actual completed story in the future
>Unmoored world is kind of neat, but there are only 3 optional post-game bosses (the dragon statue, the dune worm, and the ur dragon)
>Frick Itsuno for his stupid ass ox cart fast travel bullshit, they should have just given us an eternal ferrystone but that would have cut the total playtime of this unfinished game dramatically and they knew it
>The 95% of the game's enemies you fight mainly consist of saurians, goblins, and bandits that are reskinned per area.
>Where the frick is my mystic knight??? Did they take it out for fricking trickster of all things?
>NG+ is a literal joke because it doesn't scale for your level at all
By the end of my playthrough, all I felt was a hollow feeling and a desire to replay dark arisen again. Nothing matched the hype of fighting Savan at the end and ending your story with your own hands.
