yet xbox put it in that showcase of games coming out in the next 12 months last year. no one even said shit or talked shit about it they just let it be like the twats they are
It‘s on the devs. They told ms they‘d be able to release it by the deadline and failed to do so. Didn‘t even have the decency to announce the delay directly themselves and did it through their marketing homosexual instead
You`re a complete deluded homosexual if you actually believe team cherry wanted Microsoft to put out such a hard timeframe in the world stage. They told Microsoft the game MIGHT come out in 12 months and Phil and his pajeet cronies ran with it anyway to make idiots renew their gamepass subscriptions
Think a reasonable deadline would be before the end of the switch's life cycle, so while not this year next year will be very likely, they sure as hell won't release it on switch if the successor is already out, they're no AAA studio
Yeah, 2 weeks is the sweetspot of giving enough time for news to spread and people to prepare and also short enough to be keep the momentum of the announcement.
If properly timed even without proper PR they can take the spotlight.
Well, they announced it'll be on it, and had announcements and events like the treehouse demo. If it takes multiple more years to release, they'll still have to release it on switch, and releasing it years after the new console came out would squander the large chunk of fans who played HK on switch.
the new switch could be backwards compatible, who knows. Also if a new console releases it doesn't mean that all games will stop being released on the old system

Yeah, it does depend a lot on if nintendo will do a "3DS" shtick or something quite different. Talking about the 3DS, stuff like the new Mario & Luigi got fricked for releasing on it instead of the switch, there certainly is a limit to how long you can wait after new console came out.
only 4 people worked on the first game, this next one must have way more people onboard yet its taking forever
hollowknight was probably made in 4 years tops given no one used unity until like 2011 after kerbal proved it was an ok engine for indieslop
I think the game is finished, but it is basically shit, so they are trying to change this and that trying to figure out what the problem is and just making things even more complex and messy
Who knows? Maybe the devs really will cancel it or just pass the entire project to a whole new studio to finish.
It's not shit. We can see from the demo and the released gameplay footage that it is fricking amazing. The only reason for the delay is insane levels of content generation cramming. Also they are probably chilling quite a bit too. A total wildcard reason for the delay might be music. Maybe they don't think the music is up to the quality they want and they are giving the composer infinite time to fix it and he just is hardstuck.
Wasn't the music, like the VA stuff, finished a long time back? Like you can see them moving to different projects and such.
I'd say its less cramming and more polishing, I really doubt they'd go over 200 enemies when the goal was around the 160s.
this is what I also think. they had an easy time to develop Hollow Knight because they pretty much copied every single concept from other games and put them into one pot. With Silksong, they are trying to do new shit but are probably discovering that it isn't as easy as they might've believed.
The biggest theory I have is that they sort of designed themselves into a corner when deciding that the player should ascend the world from bottom to top in order to progress. It sounds cool on paper, but when using this design philosophy for a metroidvania it creates a bunch of problems right away. For one, you can't let gravity guide the player to new places, you have to make them steadily advance upwards without it somehow becoming tedious and repetitive quickly. But you also can't give the player too many movement options too early because then they can sequencebreak too soon. The developer could easily fall into the trap of masking zone transitions in the form of an elevator or a door because it's an easy way to lock players out of the non-intended progression too early. If the game was linear, it would be easy to design levels around what movement options the player is expected to have, but if the player is expected to return to old areas frequently with new abilities, these older areas will need to be designed in a way that both makes them traversable with no upgrades, and fun to traverse with full upgrades.
There's a pretty big chance this game is dead because of MS. I'm not sure what is going on, but I imagine it's the same thing that happened to Halo Infinite. MS basically gave them a huge budget and zero oversight, so they're just going to milk it for years because why not.

their PR guy said that it was supposed to come out in that time frame but it got pushbacked, to when? who the frick knows...
it hyped up everyone after all that silence only to be postponed again. that was a fricked up thing to do

It got delayed after the Unity debacle and we don't know if the devs are remaking the engine in something else or if they're sticking with Unity.
it got delayed months before that, they didn't say anything about the Unity engine bullshit, but imo they will stick to Unity
Fricking moron. It happened way before that and unity backtracked anyways
Serves you moronic homosexuals right for believing the hecking epic console company
Microsoft got the info directly from Team Cherry themselves you moron. thats why their PR guy announced it would be delayed

i'm honestly beginning to think its not coming out at all
this year? lol, lmao even
next year on February Im hoping
>silksong releasing within the next 6 months
You're one hell of an optimist.
Definitely not. If it‘s not at tga i doubt it‘s coming next year either
6 months from now team cherry will say the game is cancelled
anon please
It's never coming out. Unity killed them.
In 5 MINUTES
what are the chances this will get shadowdropped?
If it gets released at all id imagine they'd just drop a 2 week notice max. Can't imagine they're planning any PR circuits
Think a reasonable deadline would be before the end of the switch's life cycle, so while not this year next year will be very likely, they sure as hell won't release it on switch if the successor is already out, they're no AAA studio

What the frick does a multiplatform indie game have to do with the switch
nintendo releases platformers i guess

Steam says December 5th
no it doesn't, it says TBA
I have it on good authority that silksong will not be coming this year. Zote shadowdropped december
Whenever it does release, it'll consume my life.

nope

Are you sure about that?

I don't think you're correct, you can't say a game is good just from a 1 level demo made 4? years ago

Huh? Microsoft isn't involved at all
what? the game will cone to gamepass but it isn't funded by Microsoft afaik
>honestly believing this will release
