Good. If I play a game, I want more of the thing I enjoy. Not moronic wheel reinventing for the sake of appealing to homosexuals who don't even like the game.
So are they releasing the same thing or changing it? Make up your mind. You can't have it both ways.

They are releasing the same thing: >an 8 man raid >a 24 man raid >less dungeons than they released back in hw >same amount of areas to explore as other expansions >2 new jobs with the exact same utility as other jobs or similar rotations
Ironically enough this is the first time they didn’t change or add anything to the old jobs tho, but they have changed jobs for the worse progressively since HW and it didn’t really get that bad until SHB where he basically eliminated all job synergy and resource management from jobs and then doubled down on it harder in ew.

I'll trade shitty hallway dungeons for exploration content and another Ishgardian Resforation.
>I want more of the thing I enjoy.
But XIV has done nothing but remove stuff from class design each expansion, which is the core gameplay element. >homosexuals who don't even like the game.
I do like the game which is why I would like it to improve. You don't like the game, you worship it ever since you migrated here at the end of ShB.
>You don't like the game,
No, I do like it.

If you liked the game you would want it to improve instead of decline. You do not like it, you like the idea of it. You just like being part of something. This game is a religion for you and anyone expressing disappointment about updates removing things they like is a heretic. You already gave away that you began at the end of ShB or beginning of EW because you think people asking for job design to be reverted to how it already was in the past is asking for the game to be what it's not. You don't even realize the irony here because you are just that ignorant about what this game used to be before you followed your roach prophet here to the new promised land.

Your god Yoshida has already talked about the exact problems everyone else has talked about, so let go of your cope. Job design has declined every expansion since HW, the game has become too streamlined and easy. You say you like the game, and yet you celebrate as more of the game gets removed. Funny right? >Again: I have absolutely no social or legal obligation to be concerned with the shit you're concerned with

I don't care.
I am enjoying myself and I'll see what comes. You can scream into the ether for as long as you want, but you won't be able to conscript me into your gay online war. It's that simple. I will keep paying for it and playing for as long as I enjoy it. You can deal with your parasocial relationship with it and its developers in your own time.
I’m looking forward to field operations but I regret pre ordering for sure. Its just not worth it to deal with the dogshit job design until a year later when the real content actually releases. I probably should have just waited to see if the expansion actually shakes things up, what they’ve shown so far is completely the opposite of Yoships bullshit pr statements and theres basically zero new skills on all jobs, not to mention the new jobs have basically no utility, i still can’t believe people call pictos raid buff and heal utility when you can’t even control when it comes out since its not its own button and tied to the rotation
That list that keeps getting posted are actual lies he said yes, and theres more. I wouldn’t expect a wow refugee who watches streamers to know that tho

They unironically pretend nobody played ARR. If you bring up Heavensward they'll vomit out a pre-baked word salad from some youtuber with talking points like "almost killed the game", but if you say ARR did anything better they'll flat-out accuse you of LARPing.
DRK and MCH got absolutely fricked in Stormblood and they had to go full damage control to 'fix' them for Shadowbringers
as for healers, I think the goal was to make them less stressful to attract more players, but it mostly just meant existing healers were pissed off because they lost all their damage buttons because you didn't need to heal, Yoshida wanted healers to heal and forgot to give them shit to heal, even Savages required very little actual healing that wasn't just your oGCDs, SGE at least has actual damage buttons to play with
Summoner was just a bizarre job that barely functioned properly and players had been whining for years that it didn't feel like a summoner, so they just went scorched earth on it to wash their hands of it, its getting even less than the bare minimum in DT

Nothing about what that image says is wrong. People will find some shit to b***h about every expansion. >2 minutes boo hoo >but ignore the fact they put ALL the hard shit during the 2 minutes now making bursting even harder to execute >omg giant hitboxes >you get to use the whole arena to solve mechanics now and tend to be everyone's convenient favorites (p4s, p8s, barb, golbez, etc.)
any time the devs have to design around full uptime the fights just get better too because the rotations are literally impossible to realign if you have to taper off a boss for more than 5 seconds. the fact it's taken people multiple expansions and still haven't realized this is pretty hilarious in retrospect. the rigidness just breaks if a fricking paper plane is thrown at your button presses. positionals also just stopped being cool when you got no feedback from it and people have the nerve to pretend like they need to exist when you have 2 button presses worth of something that just solves it for you. dark arts was just kaiten but ten times worse (SOUL BRO!). bahamut ghosting, ping intensive classes, nobody played back then but they larp as if they did so they can 'fit in' with the crowd that did that clearly doesn't care anymore. raiding community is so neurotic the brain rot is starting to infect the casuals too

Dark Arts was fine in HW because you were lucky if you pressed it 3-4 times a minute because of the MP drain
then Stormblood came along, removed the MP drain and didn't adjust for all that MP you'd have, so now, you have to just fricking mash Dark Arts so much it became a meme funny enough, despite all the dark arts memes, you push atonement more on pally than you ever did with dark arts on DRK per minute, yet didn't receive a fraction of the backlash
or you know you could play the story, do some savage/extremes, and then unsubscribe after a month? I can't believe I have to share the planet with people as autistic and pathetic as you. it's a video game, not a vocation, play it for a bit and move the frick on with your life you literal fricking loser.
You're talking to MMOrats, anon.
They believe a single game should be able to keep them totally occupied for every hour, of every day, of every week, of every month, of every year of their life.
You unironically have some people go, "ugh shit gaem now I played it nonstop for 10 years and now I'm bored."
>buy a $30 expansion then subscribe for another $12 >do not have any sorts of expectations >its unfair to assume anything you MUST play through the story to have any sort of opinion >you cannot expect anything out of media tour tooltips >you cannot expect anything out of the dungeons and trials shown, especially not the gigantic hitboxes on a wall boss in a square arena >you must consoom
Skill issue, bro.
I'll buy and play the game for as long as I feel like it, and then quit when it's no longer fun. 42 dollars for hours of a story, a bunch of dungeons, new jobs, graphical updates, yadda yadda yadda is nothing.
It isn’t when the gameplay is fricking dogshit. You can like the game thats on you, but someones opinion on it or even their expectations for the story shouldn’t be dismissed for such vain fricking reasons. I fricking detest people like you, hypocrites of the highest order. I hope you have been playing since ARR too since its even worse when people spout this apologist bullshit when they started with shb.
>It isn’t when the gameplay is fricking dogshit.
It isn't to me. Which is why I'm buying it.
If you don't think it's worth it because the gameplay is dogshit, then don't buy it. It's as simple as that.
I would never pay any amount of money for a RTS game because that stuff isn't interesting to me, so I don't.

There are literally more kinda of buffs/debuffs, abilities, equipment options and resources in arrs gameplay than there are in the current state of the game. You should see a scholar hotbar going from arr to shb
>40 hours of gameplay >5 hours is waiting in queues >5 hours of fetch quests >5 hours of non voice acted and non animated cutscenes where two npcs use stock gestures at each other >5 hours of clicking on glowing spots on the ground >5 hours of walking from point a to point b >5 hours of login queues >10 hours of actual content
All for the glorious price of $40 + tip per month + thousands of dollars of case shop items!
I enjoy it, so I'm gonna pay for it. Why is that so difficult for you homosexuals to fathom? >+tip
Nope. >+thousands of dollars of cash shop items
Swing and a miss. I haven't bought a single cash shop item.
>the troon within hype is in the gutter >lowest pre-orders of any expack >subs plummeted to under 200k >streamers can't save it >meanwhile Dawntrail is on track to be a huge success >wow trannies are seething

This kills the ADD zoomer sideline spectator who needs new bing bing wahoos every 5 seconds to keep him occupied.
With the early access release it's still a full release it just gives you early access to 7.0, early access is still 7.0 and that's the update if that makes sense?
Early access. For all intents and purposes, early access is just its actual release date for anyone who buys DT before the 28th(?). It's marketing shit.
Early access. Can you imagine the meltdown if people had the benchmark changes happen when they were trying to rush the story and then had to sit through another hour-2 hour queue to just use a fantasia?
on june 26th i'll log out with 1 quest before Endwalker (to keep my sprout), then after 48 hour maintenance ends i'm going to immediately pick up Viper, put on Series 5 PvP armor dyed red, and be the first sprout Viper to do Endwalker :^)
I'll make a quick 100 million gil crafting during week one like I do every expansion. I dump it in the company chest for my two FC friends I've known since ARR.
Because of a very successful marketing campaign in Japan in the 70s when KFC opened in Tokyo. They portrayed KFC as the go to food for the Christmas Holidays
I got halfway through Endwalker and I just got so fricking bored of this shit anime-tier storyline I quit.
It's so fricking boring to watch cutscene after cutscene of LITERALLY NOTHING HAPPENING just because they need to pad out shit.
Just make a fricking movie already, the gameplay is already been watered down to the point of non-existence.
I did not buy Dawntrail. Dropped the game after finishing Endwalker. I was so blown away by how bad the story was I couldn't take it anymore. Came back for one of the free weekends to try to finish out some of the post quests and they all sucked.
So combine that with my dislike for lack of class build varieties, gear build varieties, and content homogenization (dungeons, raids, side stuff, etc)
it was enough to take a break from the game. Since then I've tried so many different MMOs and I've had a great time. Played FFXI and suffered until people helped me, played Mabinogi and got into a great guild(still play this one), ESO, PSO2, DFO, and many more
It's been some of my best MMO time since like high school.
I'll maybe come back to FFXIV but I was with it for so long exclusively (since 2.0 launch) it's such a relief to get a break from it.
>FFXI
Retail or some meme server?
I've been meaning to give that a go for a while but not sure how active it'd be, and my vidya bros definitely wouldn't want to come along
I did retail at first then did Horizon server.
I'd recommend playing on retail. It shouldn't be as expensive as it is, but it's worth it just to not deal with pserver drama.
Endwalker is the antithesis of what an FFXIV expansion should be like and must be removed. Save the "grand finale" for the actual end of the game, not some supposed storyline you can't follow up on. Even after Hydalaen and Zodiark are gone we're still fricking around with Ascian bullshit.
i dont see the issue
whether the villain with their own motives has ascian ties or not doesn't really change anything for me
the only way it matters is if it leads into the same "hurr durr our beautiful original world we need to bring zodiark back"
if this shit is really altima and they're just doing their own thing for their own reasons, then the whole ascian thing has very little bearing on it other than providing a bit of background
Because an arc is over doesn't mean there won't be remnants and call backs to that in future Expansions.
Even in Lord of the Rings there were frequent and plenty of references to the Hobbit. It didn't detract from either for doing so.
But more than that, we haven't played the Expansion story yet, save the Pearl Clutching for when we have yeah?
I wish I can.
If anything irks me, it's the fact that they went too hard on trying to close the door on all that came before. The shit they did with Myths and killing the Twelve off absolutely chafes me, still.
Tell me about it. Why couldn't it just be a giant celebration or something. Why kill off the Twelve? They deserved a better raid series and a better end.
>Tell me about it. Why couldn't it just be a giant celebration or something. Why kill off the Twelve? They deserved a better raid series and a better end.
They could've just all done the "we become mortals like deryk now," shit. They'll no longer have deific powers so nobody can call them out for not resolving some big issue plaguing the star, and you can have them around for small little sidequests or cameos during events like with Alpha and Omega and the Four Lords.
But no, just kill them all. Rather than have them experience life among the mortals they claim to love so much, they just an hero. And the one that sticks around does so for the sake of a fricking monkey.
>The buckle on her waist might be a dead giveaway
I think it's a IX reference rather than any Ascian sigil. If you turn the Alexandria emblem upside down, the central part of it looks pretty similar to her buckle.
That's much more likely. It isn't exactly Pashtarot's sigil and the last time we saw him he was in a man's body. Gaius also didn't have his mask so there's no reason to believe he died in the interim.
Because an arc is over doesn't mean there won't be remnants and call backs to that in future Expansions.
Even in Lord of the Rings there were frequent and plenty of references to the Hobbit. It didn't detract from either for doing so.
But more than that, we haven't played the Expansion story yet, save the Pearl Clutching for when we have yeah?
>buy it and play it before having any sort of expectation
Its fricking amazing the logic monkeys come up with. I would hate citing the consoomer meme here but thats literally what it is
consoom product and then don't complain because maybe the post expansion patches will fix the issues, yea? or if not then the next expansion will so just consoom and dont say anything negative okay!
If anything irks me, it's the fact that they went too hard on trying to close the door on all that came before. The shit they did with Myths and killing the Twelve off absolutely chafes me, still.
Only Oschon, he's the only one who genuinely seemed like he'd want to stick around instead of killing himself for nonsensical, arbitrary, forced reasons. >entire expansion is about finding a reason to live >raid series is about beings who want to do die, and we oblige them because frick you
>PCT
Would have auto picked this if it wasn't so gay/kiddie, still may play it >BLM
Great choice but I always play blm >DRG/MNK/SAM/RPR
All cool and might be interesting to play melee
You know, this is actually true now that I think about it. In HW DRK was the cool one, AST the gay one, in SB RDM was the cool one, SAM the gay one, in SHB GNB was cool, DNC was gay etc
if you want to play a melee you might unironically want to play viper since it appears to take bits from every other melee, possibly as some kind of cheeky reference to it being a posterboy job by having it take aspects from previous posterboy jobs to make a combined whole.
Everyone and their mother are going to play viper, no one plays reaper anymore since it seems to be ass so I think I'm going to play that personally. It's a lot cooler to me than Kirito anyway.
>we're removing some of your damaging spells since you'll be healing more often in ShB >there's less healing to do in ShB, healer gameplay worsened in all levels of content
Honestly? Yeah, Endwalker made me quit the game. Not saying the game is bad or anything, maybe I just got burnt out, all I know is the game became incredibly uninteresting to me at the time.
But I've been on the drug for over a decade now, the withdrawals combined with the expansion 'hype' train got to me.
I impulse bought Dawntrail and redeemed the code, sar. I'm kind of banking on the story to be good but the recent trailer looks a bit shit. Situation seems kinda grimmy. I really hope I'm wrong/that I'll get super back into FFXIV again.
If it was a one-off side story or free expansion I'd be good with the storyline
but if the whole expansion pack is simply >low stakes isolated storyline
then I'm not interested in paying for it
that shit is free update-tier and not worth an expansion pack
I'm sure they'll put some hooks in there for the next arc but I'm not paying for anything until I see proof
>someone disagrees with me >they must be part of X group >therefore i can dismiss them without addressing their concerns
if you think i'm not referring to you, i am referring to you

>healers are useless in criterion >healers are useless in savage raids >healers are useless in ultimates >healers are useless in BA >healers are useless in DRS >healers are useless in 24man >healers are useless in unreal >healers are useless in extremes
WHERE are healers useful??? GCDS haven’t been useful since HW, why don’t they just convert the role into dps with healing ogcds and support skills??? Would be cool for white mage to cast stone again
>play criterion >everyone has a 15s invuln and a spammable heal thats more powerful than any healers that also applys a potent regen
Literally why would you do criterion with a healer? Just have everyone slot in cure and use it on raid wides
The same goes for things like BA and DRS, a cure action effectively replaces a healer and they even let you cast aoe cures, meanwhile healers still do less damage and provide less rdps than every other role.
>healers are useless in

Its fine if you don’t but the fact that its a common practice still makes it into a problem and discourages the use of the df. Just like its a problem that certain alliance queues take far too long to be viable.
Because the vast majority of healers have God complexes and get off on the idea of "deciding who kives and dies", so they feel threatened by the idea of their power niche being diminished.
I don't think you should expect PF parties for Ultimates and/or Savages to ditch healers anytime soon.
If it was both easier and more efficient? Yeah. But it really isn't. It's something a bunch of hardcores did after however many runs of doing it with a conventional group. To see if they could.
except not using a healer is genuinely worse in every single way, for all of warriors powerful self-healing it does fricking dogshit DPS, it's weaker than every healer that's the trade off
Skip soar was optimal, going without a healer is not, it's just done for fun, that's it. Besides, tanks have been technically "useless" in stuff like dungeons for a while now as well because guess what, healer mitigation and healing is even more overpowered than tanks.
>healer mitigation and healing is even more overpowered than tanks.

>zepla went nutty with acting as if island sanctuary was going to give people the world while yoship was trying to temper expectations >she's gonna do the same with cosmic exploration
stupid fricking hag
Zepla lost too much good will from the community because of her doomering, it's not that people hate her anymore apart from the rancid troons that she herself cultivated for her audience it's that they just don't care.
Yeah that too, people just seem to be fed up of her playing hot and cold.
That might work for WoW because they're always in a period of "it's over, we're back! It's over" but here no, people will stop watching and paying attention to you.
It's exactly what happened to Xeno, he used to be nothing but negative about the game and even semi-quit in Shadowbringers. Then he learned to tone it way down and give constructive criticism, he still is a prat but how is it that Xeno is more positive about the game than Zepla? She cooked her brain doing TOP.
doomers are just trying to free you from your sunken cost, if you uninstall 14 you won't need to suffer anymore
why do you persist, why do refuse our gift
Nothing to free me from if I'm having fun. If it's people who no longer enjoy yet buzz around the game constantly feeling miserable (like said doomers), then I'd absolutely suggest quitting it. Don't make yourself miserable.
“Doomers” as you put it probably just want the game to be as good as it used to be while still getting new things. It really is unecessary to get excited at the removal of skills and sterilization of gameplay. There is a difference between dooming and wanting the game to be good
You can say what you want, but I am playing the game because I enjoy it, and I will continue to do so as long as I enjoy it. You're free to have your own crusade to ask for changes, or, "improvements," as you call them.
But I'm not going to carry any water for your activism. And that's where the problem comes in. Your concerns have nothing to do with me, and my concerns have nothing to do with you. I am not obligated to care about what you care about, or be disgruntled about the things you're disgruntled about.
Because there's a sizeable contingent of people who do enjoy the game, so when you try to make your subjective feelings objective statements about the quality of the game, then people are going to give their own perspective on it.

What happens in this thread is exactly the opposite of what you say. Its less treating things as subjective and moreso just general disrespect. I don’t care either way, I’ll call someone an idiot monkey when i see an opinion I consider stupid but its pretty hypocritical of you to take this stance if you are the anon I think you are.
Expressing concern for the future of the game by posting laughing from images taling about preorder bonuses, constantly declaring the game dead, calling everyone troops, ect sure is a strange way to express concern for the future of the game.
And even if it was a valid way, try this same tactic with anything else. >"Football is slop for troons it's dogshit it was better when I liked it."
I'm sure no one will tell you to frick off and stop being annoying. I bet they'll all just stop watching football right that second and defer to your wisdom.
It really isn't.
The point is that everything that is enjoyed by people will be defended if you make objective statements about its quality or lack thereof. Nobody needs to follow your opinion on the current state of affairs with any hobby, game, recreational activity, whatever.

It's pretty normal for every other hobby and even game community to tell you to frick off if you're being annoying.
Only in XIV do battered spouses who can't let the game go think everyone should be beholden to them or the accusations of "cultism" start flying around like they're going out of style. Nobody's going to stop liking something because you don't like it. A day might come where they no longer like XIV, and they'll be in the very same position where people are going to continue playing it and having fun regardless of their input. It's the cycle.

In the case of healers, it's because they have unrealistic expectations for their role, they want to be green DPS that press off globals to do their actual job. Most of this animosity is born from having to deal with SCH players specifically b***h and moan constantly despite having been the most overpowered job in the game for a decade. For Black Mage, the histrionics are annoying because they're barely even losing anything, and the vast majority of people complaining are likely just parroting top .1 percent opinions and never even engaged with the things they're complaining about having been trimmed. As for Kaiten, yeah losing it sucks but it'd functionality basically got cooked into the iajutsu itself so all of the pitching and moaning more or less just came down to losing a cool animation (no, you never had to "manage" kenki with Kaiten because any combo that would light up a sticker would always give enough kenki for kaiten anyway).

>they want to be green DPS that press off globals to do their actual job.
the game is literally designed around them doing this. gordias savage mindbroke both the playerbase and the devs because of its truly brutal enrages and a big reason for this is because tank players were doing AGGRESSIVE TANK bullshit, taking tons of damage and needing constant asspats from healers when those broil/stone gcds being lost is way more total damage then wearing stre accessories increasing fell cleaves damage by 2% is.

I think healers wanting to either actually have a reason to use their GCD heals or be able to do *something* besides spamming a single spell during downtime isn't an unrealistic expectation.

>because sch b***hed
Is not an argument nor are you taking the situation being planted seriously. Schs did not “b***h and moan” about having to do dps you are referring to people who came into the game expecting to always be healing then where surprised when that wasn’t the case. This has always been a thing and the only thing they did was simplify dps rotations on healers to discourage this. They didn’t add new support options or gave healers reasons to use their heal gcds like back on arr/hw, instead, infact they doubled down on destroying the intricate buff gameplay system the BUFF class astrologian had and reduced it into another thing that could fit into the 2m meta instead about decision making while still making a bit difference like when astroligian could give 45s 20% damage buffs.
I don’t think, that coming from something like this, its unreasonable to be upset with the state healers are in right now.

Still very funny to me they made Bard in XIV and in 1.0 it was a genuinely good support class buffer, in 2.0 some of that was stripped to accommodate the trinity better, and over the years since then it's basically now just a ranger with some pathetic piecemeal buffs. Unironically they should have retconned Bard to Ranger in like Stormblood so they could actually have a real Bard one day maybe. I yearn for classic MMOs with significant support tools.

because I tried WoW for a week and then realized how good I had it with xiv. Now I'm back to where I started and im leveling up PLD for Dawntrail because I feel like being a tank main for once.
this. but you have to understand, i was a console pleb starved after exhausting oblivion. i had no idea what eurojank was. if only i had known, i could have been on the strangest of frontiers.
Healer new actions hype
White mage >white mage gets 3 fat gcd dps gains every 2 minutes with no actual interaction with the rest of their kit much less healing >afflatus misery is still just dps neutral reward >they get another healing ogcd skill they never need >cure, cure 2 and regen are still worthless, cure 3 has extremely fringe usefulness
Scholar >gets a new super form (instead of just upgrading seraph) that improves their gcd heals and makes emergency tactics 1s recast, in other words something that will never be useful, especially since you can’t use it with dissapate which you still use on cooldown >fairy still doesn’t actually exist >brand new aoe dot they can use every 2 minutes with no meaningful interaction with any of your healing skills or aetherflow >physick, succor, and adloquim are still useless >seraph still doesnt upgrade any of your fairy ogcds
Astrologian >astrodyne and sigil system removed and replaced with 2 1 minute draws that give you card effects that are redundant with your entire kit, they didnt even bother adding a crit/dhit buff and the damage up cards are still 6% so they essentially made something that is better than the dogshit they smeared on the players before and replaced it with something that is still worse than what they had before >gcd heals are still useless
Sage >added more dps buttons with zero interaction with their kit >toxikon and pneuma are now dps losses >eukrasia dyskrasia is a second dot they have (will probably have its potency nerfed) >addersting mechanic still useless, you shield your tank only to lose dps, movement utility is a meme at best when slidecasting exists
I’m a healer and I’m hype for dawntrail
To any SE devs lurking here. THANK YOU!
Im actually happy this game became a troonfest after 10 years. They permabanned a 1.0'r and set me free from caring about this slop game. I will enjoy watching square enix devolve into bankruptcy by adopting DEI ESG values. Time to boycott them forever.
why are they so afraid of adding multi-hit weaponskills? stuff like hyosho and resonant arrow having a bunch of successive hit effects with only a single damage value at the end is lame.
I dunno if they're afraid. I think they just don't really see the point in it?
I'd say, "ask YoshiP to add it," but that's easier said than done. The best you can hope for is that some eceleb gets the same idea.
it just seems strange that they haven't done it yet, especially after complaints about crit and damage variance. splitting some abilities with absurdly high potencies into smaller ones with their own chance to crit seems obvious.
>The first question we can answer now is that of Viper’s utility. Does it have a partywide damage buff like it’s older Scouting brother Ninja? Nope. Viper is all about Viper. It does have multiple buffs to manage, but none to share with the rest of the class. That immediately sets our expectations on where Viper fits in compared to the other Melee on the damage front. It seems like it is headed for that Samurai, Black Mage stratosphere. This makes sense, as later we’ll see that they will have a similar complexity to Samurai, at least in maintaining buffs. Knowing that, what does it play like? My take: A Samurai-Reaper with absolute reckless abandon- let me explain. Starting off we’ll go through their defensive utilities, Viper learns a movement ability named Slither at level 40 which works just like Thunderclap from Monk, even down to the three max charges. That’s all. Not one defensive cooldown, no HP drain, no self-mitigation, nothing. Even Samurai has Third Eye.
honestly pretty hyped. it also seems like they somewhat learned from reaper and you get the twoblade mode before level 70
Why do people pretend that ffxiv has any job with utility? All “utility” in this game are just tiny buffs you have to line up because they make no difference on their own so its not like you can pretend this is some sort of gameplay element if it can’t be used on its own.
idk but it honestly pisses me off and it seems to be an excuse to make certain jobs completely overpowered. BLM and SAM have dominated this game for almost 8 years straight now, look at how much higher their DPS is. BLM even does the most rDPS and it doesn't even have a fricking raid buff, how does that make any sense?
SAM is, it currently occupies over 95% of all top speed and parse parties in savage. BLM would be too except the vast majority of people can't play it well or don't try.
the hyper minmaxers all pick the one thing that is slightly better then the others =/= that thing is overpowered in a general sense.
if sam was truly broken DPS the speedrunners would go with 4 samurai, but they don't because the only way samurai damage is actually that high is if they have buffs to pad, buffs that other classes contribute.

congrats you discovered synergy in a party based game, what makes something overpowered in these games is the fact it's over-centralizing in a game where every other job has the same copy pasted buff so SAM stands out as the only one to fill its niche leaving all other jobs in its role to compete for the privilege of buffing it
2 weeks ago
Anonymous
Man you just described why everyone whined about NIN, BRD, DRG etc in SB but it's not bad when it's SAM? SAM is even fricking worse.
Third eye is getting a better big buff too, I'd say viper should do about ~5% more DPS than samurai to make up for having no utility, that seems about right
Third eye is getting a better big buff too, I'd say viper should do about ~5% more DPS than samurai to make up for having no utility, that seems about right
I get you're (probably) being cheeky but monk movement is unironically more useful for keeping yourself alive then third eye is, especailly since sam is encouraged to hit third eye on cooldown in order to get more kenki and thus damage
monk is going to be a real tough motherfricker though. 20% mit + mantra that already boosts role actions and is now also going to boost its party wide heal AND its gets the broken movement
I can't wait to explore the new world and do all the sidequests, find all the sightseeing logs, level Blue Mage, do fates, level my crafters and all that good shit.
Let them play WoW and stay there. There's nothing wrong with it.
And XIV isn't WoW, and never should be, so it probably shouldn't appeal to him.
First of all, the only reason he might want to try it is if he likes stories. Anything else is ancillary and follows after.
I'm really keen on trying out the new battle content. A lot of interview talk about even the basic stuff being a bit tougher or with a bit of an edge. Judging from the last boss in the 91 dungeon, a few funny overlaps that can trip up people not paying attention. Talk about "expert roulette" needing to live up to the name more sounded dope.
Lol
Lmao even
Babby's first Yoshida interview? He says this every expansion and nothing changes, or it gets worse. You will NEVER see modern dungeons compste to old dungeons because of trusts. Good luck getting a boss like Diabolos to work with Trusts lol.
Doomsissy, please. Every next iteration has to be evaluated based on its own merits first. If you weren't as mindbroken, you could compare and contrast the available information with their actions and not preemptively b***h about stupid shit.
all of the bosses reworked for trusts got harder though. compare old prae where you kill ultima weapon so fast it can barely even get all its lines out compared to the current one where you actually have to dodge overlapping orange circles and he does damage. i've unironically seen wipes in it now when before it was a boss so easy because they had to rush 2.0 to release that they were joking that ultima weapon unreal will be the first time anyone has ever had to actually do some of the mechanics in this boss instead of killing it in 20 seconds
>diablos
doors were always a mechanic 1 person solved that magically forced everyone else to enter with you when you opened the last one, thats the exact sort of mechanic a trust ai can do
>You will NEVER see modern dungeons compste to old dungeons because of trusts.
all the reworked ARR dungeons > their old versions
the only way in which they got worse is that they're not as good at wasting your time with frivolous shit now
people who wanna pretend that they were super engaging back when you collected photocells and you had 3 branching tunnels that led nowhere (that you could see leading nowhere on the map)
in ARR the dungeon meta was to unironically not even fight the mobs and just have the tank suicide run into the boss room so everyone else can warp in and then die so all the mobs lose enmity and run back out of the boss room

the reason they design dungeons that way is because the devs saw people doing the old way and went "frick you". that's why many of the level 50 dungeons introduced through ARR patch quests have a half dozen walls between each boss or intractables to open the next door before they realized that was a little too obnoxious and drifted towards the current method

Anon dungeons having one extra mob pack further down the hall to go get some Manor Varnish that eighty percent of people wouldn't even be able to use didn't make old dungeons better. The problem is thar XIV is only engaging in boss encounters, trash mobs have always been and will always be shit unengaging time wasters in this game because of how it is designed. Which means that the majority of your time spent in dungeons (clearing trash) fricking sucks regardless of what little extra side rooms they might or might not tack on.
>finish the 10 year story >wrap up every loose end possible, tempered, beast tribes, garlemald, ancients, ascians, the twelve, the void, everything done >clean state adventure on the horizon >it's just ascians again, again
I'm in fricking tears from laughing at how stupid this actually is as I type it. Like genuinely what were they thinking?
Ascians were never wrapped up if you paid even the slightest of attention, and the Void is most definitely coming back around again at some point.
They were, the remaining ones shouldn't factor into the story at all besides being cheeky side characters figuring out life without the grand plan. EW was one big goodbye to ancients and ascians, but guess what makes money and keeps tumblr subscribed? Yeah, its ancients and ascisns.

bad faith.
It would be bad storytelling if an Ascian shows up talking and acting as if he missed EW. It would be cool if an Ascian just shows up pushing his own goals now, trying to find meaning after Zodiark got done in.
Why does it *actually* matter if an Ascian is still part of the story if their methods and motives do not align with Hades/Themis/Hephaistos et all? Are you also upset that Gaia exists?

>delay savage a week >everyone loves this >they get a week to craft, enjoy the MSQ, and farm EX trial for weapon >only one teeny tiny flaw is that now players have 900 tomes to work with week 1 of savage instead of 450 >devs refuse to balance the raid around this extra tome piece or even under the assumption all raiders have crafted HQ with EX weapon >instead of delaying weekly tomes to savage launch or balancimg a raid to highly favor HQ crafted sets as the barrier to entry, they revert this whole process so now you're on a FOMO clock to gather, craft, prog, and farm tomes all at once
Reminds me of when they were excited to finally do an expansion without door bosses, and then added the door bosses back for no reason and with no explanation as to why that same expansion and onwards.
Or how about you just stop being autistic and just do the fights? Out of all games in the universe XIV is absolutely the last one you should concern yourself with gear beyond having the min ilevel to queue in.
That's how it always worked when expansions released. They only changed it a bit for 6.2 and 6.4 because people didn't like feeling rushed to craft when the raid was out.

It is, THO. Devs had multiple chances to increase damage done to tanks so they couldn't solo the whole dungeon to the boss, but for whatever reason CS3 are the kings of choosing the worst possible option at any given point.

You haven't been paying attention if a regular neon lighted modern city is your breaking point
We don't know the reason yet. Something of a fabled city that locals heard rumors about, but never actually found. Stop looking for spoilers, you're gonna ruin the experience for yourself, dumbass.
we don't know, but you are going to learn some interesting things about the universe's cosmology once you reach Shadowbringers that can lead to a few theories
Eorzea might be a shithole but the FFXIV world isn't exactly in medieval stasis. Azys Lla, Crystal Tower and the Coils of Bahamut should have tipped you off about ancient ruins having obscene tech levels.
because this is the FF9 reference expansion, and in FF9 the end of the game goes from wacky medieval fantasy setting to crazy alien techno-magic ruins planet, as a reference to how the earliest FF games like 1 and 4 suddenly reveal crazy spaceships and other science-fantasy elements in the last act
You want to avoid spoilers? My advice is don't go to any place that is talking about FFXIV in the coming weeks and months. We're talking spoilers everywhere.
Some shards have time (and probably with Ascian assistance) the ability to develop further than the Source ever can because the Ascians blow everything up and set civilization back every couple of thousand years.
More satisfying explanation: FFXIV as a setting has a lot of time travel and time dilation shenanigans, like the previous anon said, there are shards that both move faster and might have gotten more time to develop their technology. Plus, the Source has had to deal with civilization-erasing calamities several times, all of which set technology behind and then had to be recovered.
Ok that's the basic rotation that will get you to where 90% of the player base are, how you bridge the gap for the rest is not so easy and straight forward.
It's painfully easy though, just pop enshroud whenever, use the twinblade thing whenever.

viper getting to pick how its combos flow instead of being locked into a hard 123 seems like it could lead to some neat stuff but we need to see how the meter economy works before I can make a call one way or the other. everyone thought reaper was going to be really simple until people realized its technically meter negative in most fights and they clued into double enshroud stuff that makes things a lot more rigid then they first appeared
even if its kinda lame, it has monk movement, a good amount of weaves, selfish dps damage and gets a good chunk of its kit before 70 so it'll make a nice brain off roulettes/treasure map job
What you're referring to is a togglable option.
It's basically XIVCombo, which is always going to be out performed situationally by someone who is not relying on shortcuts.

God I hate armchair players who just go >no need friend, I've already imagined the playstyle in my head.
No, wesk alber already confirmed that the GCDs are NOT untoggelable. They just work like that and automatically replace the other.

Look at all of this empty space man. I hope to god they change this and at least let you assign the buttons on the hotbar.

17 non role actions isn't that many buttons less then BLM, and blm only has more buttons because it has a ton of buttons that 100% could be the same button that swaps because they're mutually exclusive
its 'automatic' in the sense they aren't different buttons on your bar but how it works is you hit either dread or fangs, then depending on what you hit those two buttons turn into different actions, and then depending on what you hit between THOSE two buttons they again turn into different things
it branches out like a pyramid from the first gcd you hit and since they have different buffs I feel like even if you're technically hitting 111 or 112 you have potential there for some optimizations. and that's before the like 3 different meters you fill and your gcd cooldowns
Reasonable post, I'm in agreement to wanting to see it in the Live game and how the metres build and work along with the flow of the feel of the job. Seeing raw abilities and rotations from people based on the Media tour is helpful but I want to experiment the flow of the job for myself.

>dawntrail gives every healer a bunch of extra mitigation buttons AND new dps buttons
"what the frick, this isn't what I wanted at all."
Healers just want DPS shit, that's the only reason they ever complain. Every expansion is >bring back HW sch >bring back HW cards >bring back HW energy drain
>take away dps buttons because they want healers to heal >healing requirements are so low that I have nothing to heal >okay, so do Savage >bar is still extremely low and can rely mostly on oGCDs, especially when gearing up

going by the current tooltips whm does more damage then sge when it was already doing more damage in endwalker
after the rework made lilies good I feel like whm is secretly the most interesting healer because blood lily in buffs being a DPS gain encourages you to make the most of your more limited heals per minute by picking the right time and stacking enough cooldowns, but then also if shit gets fricked you can go nova with cure 3 until the problem goes away. it's also easily the most fun in casual content because of holy, dots doing upfront damage and assize and is about to get a funny dash move
Yeah since HW pretty much WHM has been the offensive "personal damage" healer with no raid buffs. Great for pugs where your own good play does more damage than giving a shitter a 6% buff. Shits out healing too if you want it, actually was a huge issue at some points in SB because you could rip threat off the tank with one or two cure 3s
I dislike WHM as such, but if it gets to be the aggressive damage healer, it could be pretty fun.

Im not a hardcore raider but watching this shit gives me a headache. It's like your doing a puzzle or some shit rather than playing an actual RPG. Like standing in certain spots so that you don't die, matching symbols up to other symbols and standing next to each other, what the frick is that lol. so glad i don't participate in savage or whatever.
Like a lot of raiding it looks more complicated than it truly is once you do it a couple times
Take GCO as an example, having to resolve like 10 debuffs at once sounds bad but it's actually pretty simple
>Like a lot of raiding it looks more complicated than it truly is once you do it a couple times
My point is that it's just one large puzzle where you have to stand in specific spots or pair up with someone or whatever for 10 minutes.
I prefer older RPGs where this basically just didn't happen. Its probably why healeranxiety or tankxiety is high in this game. Getting 1 shotted cause you didn't stand in the right place at the right time is just not good gameplay.
I prefer movement gameplay over numbers gameplay. Standing still and hoping that your numbers are big enough to deal with whatever you're fighting is boring as sin
You want to play a game where you can over damage an encounter therefore do no mechanics
I prefer movement gameplay over numbers gameplay. Standing still and hoping that your numbers are big enough to deal with whatever you're fighting is boring as sin
Yeah XIV endgame is 95% choreography, knowing your positions on stage at all times. Really more a bunch of performers than a real fight. You either like it or you don't, I'm definitely more on the latter side too. I think a lot of people would be b***hing less if this game was more reactive and random in encounters, since you can pretty much script out your average raid with your eyes closed after your team figures out the flow. Game used to be a lot more random in the old days, but they kept shearing off that rng and now we're left with extraordinarily predictable encounters.
Your reply is pretty much it yeah 100%. I don't really play RPGs to do a choreography. The MMOs I used to play were games like EQ or FFXI. So you ended up knowing what magic did what and how to react to it. You never just died randomly because you didn't stand in a specific spot. I'm fine just being a casual for XIV
anyone else think absolutely everything to do with Solution 9 should have been hidden and obfuscated by the marketing so that its an actual surprise for players?
Mixed emotions. Can't sell it as just a summer vacation because it's too boring, but also unbelievable. First spoiler images would instantly raise eyebrows. The why is probably the interesting part, but then again it would be very interesting to go in blind and find out that there are bigger problems similar to how EW played out.
its not just being sold as a summer vacation, we are clearly going to destabilize the local government and cause untold levels of political turmoil and conflict you know, the usual
It's ok, anon. The good guys win so it's justified political turmoil.
Would be funny if there were Garlean expats siding with an unrelated party that would heavily lean against Wuk Lamat because of us. Reminiscent of Nazies escaping to Argentina.
I need to stop going on the forums so much.
Good fricking god, these homosexuals over-dramatize every little detail, and will not stop whining.
Yeah, the game's got some problems, but it takes a certain kind of mental illness to make forum posts just to complain that your character doesn't look exactly the same after a graphical update.
I realized that class design is probably fine where it is when I thought about where this game actually is. How many other games downright require you to view a guide to understand how a class is meant to be played on a base level? How many other games have over 20 actions per class at least that you're going to be using regularly?
Yeah, it was more unique before, but at this point, I'm inclined to think that it's just rose tinted goggles, and these things were nightmares to actually try to play right.
Maybe they should do their own Classic starting in ARR just to give modern players a frame of reference.

The only thing it won't have is Island Sanctuary, but that will be replaced by a similar feature: Cosmic Exploration.
My guy, we live in peak post-tortanic, post-WoW exodus era. Ganker is the only place I've seen be so insane about it because I don't visit other sites where kneejerk schizos reside. As said before, if you're having doubts, be patient and evaluate latter.
It was fine. We have no prior information to really go off of. Previous trailers had more pieces we could connect together. This time we're going in raw in a sense.
>felt like playing for honor today >open uplay for the first time in weeks >for honor is on sale, perfect >buy it and go to download >game is somehow 100 gig >lose all interest in playing

Nope, we're building space colonies. Literally no one wants to build Garlean buttholes anything because they'd just shit on it and call us savages the whole time.
>We're going to spess before we help the tech lads get back off the ground
Imagine Garlean Engineering with Sharlyan bullshit.
The best we got is some shitty mammets, they could definitely make much better shit than that.

We can't do Garlean Restoration til they calm the frick down.

>Bozja 2.0: Bermuda Pirates >Ishgard Restoration: Terraformers edition >Variant dungeons >same old dungeon, raid, trial, ultimate shit as before >new limited job Beastmaster, sometime in 1-1.5 years time >some unannounced features
> Beastmaster, sometime in 1-1.5 years time
will we really have to wait that long? I have no idea how long we usually wait for blue mage updates, but I guess beastmaster will come out at that same time frame?
Seems unlikely you'd update a new limited alongside another limited. Safe assumption one would be like 7.4 like Blue Mage usually is and BM would be a .1 or .2
It's purported to be late similar to how BLU was released late and so that you have a grindier feature towards the tail end of the expac. Rest of the stuff is something that can have extra content every patch/every other patch. It's mostly speculation so who knows.
>there's this saucy little minx who has been derelict in her duty as an Ascian for nigh on a thousand years. >take her across the knee and let her have it.
FF14 rocks.
Fippy bippy.
Thanks, my wife, Venat Final Fantasy 14.
FF14 is shit
how can you have that about an expansion that isn't even out yet?
I am a time traveler.
>Dawntrail is so successful doomposters have to invent time travel and go back to the past to a time where they weren't mind broken
Things are looking good.
>Dawntrail is so bad that yoshipissed have to invent time travel and go back to the past to a time where they weren't mind broken
Things are looking bad for yoshipiss drones.
It's impossible for the game to have a bad expansion, since the team is actually competent and passionate
>since the team is actually competent
>competent
Maybe competent at releasing the same thing over and over with a new coat of paint I guess.
>passionate
I can’t really call such a creatively bankrupt team with such sterile overall design, especially pve and job design, competent.
>Maybe competent at releasing the same thing over and over with a new coat of paint I guess.
Good. If I play a game, I want more of the thing I enjoy. Not moronic wheel reinventing for the sake of appealing to homosexuals who don't even like the game.
Except that since the beginning they have been changing jobs each expansion for the worse while not adding any new sort of flavor in content.
So are they releasing the same thing or changing it? Make up your mind. You can't have it both ways.
They are releasing the same thing:
>an 8 man raid
>a 24 man raid
>less dungeons than they released back in hw
>same amount of areas to explore as other expansions
>2 new jobs with the exact same utility as other jobs or similar rotations
Ironically enough this is the first time they didn’t change or add anything to the old jobs tho, but they have changed jobs for the worse progressively since HW and it didn’t really get that bad until SHB where he basically eliminated all job synergy and resource management from jobs and then doubled down on it harder in ew.
>They are releasing the same thing:
Good.
And I've no obligation to carry water for you or your complaints. I do not need to join you in your incessant moaning.
Improve from what? I'm enjoying myself. Again: I have absolutely no social or legal obligation to be concerned with the shit you're concerned with or stand by you to soothe your asshurt. Your crusade is yours alone.
If you don't like it, get off the internet.
>Improve from what?
Your god Yoshida has already talked about the exact problems everyone else has talked about, so let go of your cope. Job design has declined every expansion since HW, the game has become too streamlined and easy. You say you like the game, and yet you celebrate as more of the game gets removed. Funny right?
>Again: I have absolutely no social or legal obligation to be concerned with the shit you're concerned with
Nobody said you did you pompous Black person.
Hmm idk. Oh yeah every 14 expac is the same shit lol
It's already been leaked.

I enjoyed Endwalker and I will enjoy Dawntrail. 🙂
what a cute sheep we have here
I've hated Handwalker and Il'l pass on the uninteresting shit that is Dawntrail
I’m looking forward to field operations but I regret pre ordering for sure. Its just not worth it to deal with the dogshit job design until a year later when the real content actually releases. I probably should have just waited to see if the expansion actually shakes things up, what they’ve shown so far is completely the opposite of Yoships bullshit pr statements and theres basically zero new skills on all jobs, not to mention the new jobs have basically no utility, i still can’t believe people call pictos raid buff and heal utility when you can’t even control when it comes out since its not its own button and tied to the rotation
>lies of P
>can't think of any lies
>probably blames the dude for shit said by morons who misrepresented his words or gross mistranslations
I’ve been playing since he took over 1.0 and he has lied several times each expansion.
Post some lies.
>inb4 the list of the same 10 things over 10+ years of LL/interviews/Q&As that is mostly a reach turning "planned" into "promised".
That list that keeps getting posted are actual lies he said yes, and theres more. I wouldn’t expect a wow refugee who watches streamers to know that tho
>"we plan to-"
>"AAAAH HE PROMISED LIES OF P LIES OF P LIES OF P WE LIVE IN A SOCIETY YOU DRINK WATER I DRINK ANARCHY"
Lol.
The biggest lie is him saying they won't oversimplify jobs and every job is now oversimplified
like?
Summoner and healers for starters. DRK and MCH have also progressively gotten easier and easier as time goes on.
>and healers
Yes, healers got over simplified. Did you start in Endwalker?
He probably started in shadowbringers and is likely i a wow refugee
Most of the fricking apologists in these threads are. They dismiss the opinion of anyone who played since 2.0 or less and pretend the game caters to “them”. They will screech if yoshida actually follows through with the job changes in 8.0 tho and start saying things like “theres too much button bloat”
>waaaah waaaaah waaaaah waaah waaah
Cry harder b***h. My game.
See what I mean? And this is likely just bait. You cannot interact with a subhuman ape like this, theres no communication.
Stay mad. My game.
They unironically pretend nobody played ARR. If you bring up Heavensward they'll vomit out a pre-baked word salad from some youtuber with talking points like "almost killed the game", but if you say ARR did anything better they'll flat-out accuse you of LARPing.
Aren't you referring to his DT statements? None of those got simplified in DT.
>2 minutes boo hoo
>but ignore the fact they put ALL the hard shit during the 2 minutes now making bursting even harder to execute
>omg giant hitboxes
>you get to use the whole arena to solve mechanics now and tend to be everyone's convenient favorites (p4s, p8s, barb, golbez, etc.)
any time the devs have to design around full uptime the fights just get better too because the rotations are literally impossible to realign if you have to taper off a boss for more than 5 seconds. the fact it's taken people multiple expansions and still haven't realized this is pretty hilarious in retrospect. the rigidness just breaks if a fricking paper plane is thrown at your button presses. positionals also just stopped being cool when you got no feedback from it and people have the nerve to pretend like they need to exist when you have 2 button presses worth of something that just solves it for you. dark arts was just kaiten but ten times worse (SOUL BRO!). bahamut ghosting, ping intensive classes, nobody played back then but they larp as if they did so they can 'fit in' with the crowd that did that clearly doesn't care anymore. raiding community is so neurotic the brain rot is starting to infect the casuals too
Dark Arts was fine in HW because you were lucky if you pressed it 3-4 times a minute because of the MP drain
then Stormblood came along, removed the MP drain and didn't adjust for all that MP you'd have, so now, you have to just fricking mash Dark Arts so much it became a meme
funny enough, despite all the dark arts memes, you push atonement more on pally than you ever did with dark arts on DRK per minute, yet didn't receive a fraction of the backlash
What are these filenames?
Mindbroken by BlizzBVLLs
or you know you could play the story, do some savage/extremes, and then unsubscribe after a month? I can't believe I have to share the planet with people as autistic and pathetic as you. it's a video game, not a vocation, play it for a bit and move the frick on with your life you literal fricking loser.
You're talking to MMOrats, anon.
They believe a single game should be able to keep them totally occupied for every hour, of every day, of every week, of every month, of every year of their life.
You unironically have some people go, "ugh shit gaem now I played it nonstop for 10 years and now I'm bored."
>buy a $30 expansion then subscribe for another $12
>do not have any sorts of expectations
>its unfair to assume anything you MUST play through the story to have any sort of opinion
>you cannot expect anything out of media tour tooltips
>you cannot expect anything out of the dungeons and trials shown, especially not the gigantic hitboxes on a wall boss in a square arena
>you must consoom
Skill issue, bro.
I'll buy and play the game for as long as I feel like it, and then quit when it's no longer fun. 42 dollars for hours of a story, a bunch of dungeons, new jobs, graphical updates, yadda yadda yadda is nothing.
>if youre getting paid minimum wage that 30 dollars is only 2 maybe 3 hours of working at a job
you're telling me 40 hours of playtime for 30 dollars isn't a fare exchange?
I would never pay any amount of money for a RTS game because that stuff isn't interesting to me, so I don't.
>enjoy game when it first comes out (arr)
>changes into something unrecognizable for no reason
>you shouldnt want the game to be better just quit it
Yes. If the game has been shit to you for nigh on 10 years, then maybe it's time to get the message, rather than stick around being miserable and telling others to stop having fun.
Check back in when there's mumbling of things actually changing in the way you want them to change, or move on for good. I sure hope you haven't been subbed for years.
its very telling how you're stuck on arr when it was the worst version of the game aside from 1.0. youre one of those people who can't accept and have a fear of change
There are literally more kinda of buffs/debuffs, abilities, equipment options and resources in arrs gameplay than there are in the current state of the game. You should see a scholar hotbar going from arr to shb
>40 hours of gameplay
>5 hours is waiting in queues
>5 hours of fetch quests
>5 hours of non voice acted and non animated cutscenes where two npcs use stock gestures at each other
>5 hours of clicking on glowing spots on the ground
>5 hours of walking from point a to point b
>5 hours of login queues
>10 hours of actual content
All for the glorious price of $40 + tip per month + thousands of dollars of case shop items!
Buy the expansion and a one month sub in two years. Boom, solved the issue for you.
What happens to my home then
If you're gonna pay the moron tax, don't complain about getting fleeced.
I enjoy it, so I'm gonna pay for it. Why is that so difficult for you homosexuals to fathom?

Swing and a miss. I haven't bought a single cash shop item.

No, actually. There are only a handful of things I care to play, and if I don't enjoy it, I quit it.

Is the grafix update coming with the early access release or the normal release days later?
With the early access release it's still a full release it just gives you early access to 7.0, early access is still 7.0 and that's the update if that makes sense?
Early access. For all intents and purposes, early access is just its actual release date for anyone who buys DT before the 28th(?). It's marketing shit.
Early access. Can you imagine the meltdown if people had the benchmark changes happen when they were trying to rush the story and then had to sit through another hour-2 hour queue to just use a fantasia?
I will NOT buy a bigoted game.
well now I want to preorder
expansion plans for MSQlets?
on june 26th i'll log out with 1 quest before Endwalker (to keep my sprout), then after 48 hour maintenance ends i'm going to immediately pick up Viper, put on Series 5 PvP armor dyed red, and be the first sprout Viper to do Endwalker :^)
I'll make a quick 100 million gil crafting during week one like I do every expansion. I dump it in the company chest for my two FC friends I've known since ARR.
Why is KFC so popular in Japan I know it's like higher quality than the US one or whatever but is really that good
Fried chicken for Christmas is really popular over there. I guess KFC is the most famous provider of chicken nuggets and whatnot over there
Because of a very successful marketing campaign in Japan in the 70s when KFC opened in Tokyo. They portrayed KFC as the go to food for the Christmas Holidays
as if it's not gonna be mainly hrothgar wearing that
Won’t be surprising
>deviant Eos
>only 2 weeks away
AHHHHH I CAN’T TAKE IT I WANT TO PLAY IT NOW
I got halfway through Endwalker and I just got so fricking bored of this shit anime-tier storyline I quit.
It's so fricking boring to watch cutscene after cutscene of LITERALLY NOTHING HAPPENING just because they need to pad out shit.
Just make a fricking movie already, the gameplay is already been watered down to the point of non-existence.
picto is so fricking gay
i'm going to get banned for bullying homosexuals using this homosexual job
.t someone who painted as the wojack in pvp
Didn't read, plus this looks ugly frick, and you're gay.
enjoy yourself
don't play games you no longer like. it'll be better for you in the long run

The buckle on her waist might be a dead giveaway
I wish I can.
What irks me the most is how lame Thaleia music is when compared to the two previous raids.
>No locking mechanism on the bottom
I'm getting grimmy, I hope there're asymmetrical swords.
These are pretty neat
>buy it and play it before having any sort of expectation
Its fricking amazing the logic monkeys come up with. I would hate citing the consoomer meme here but thats literally what it is
consoom product and then don't complain because maybe the post expansion patches will fix the issues, yea? or if not then the next expansion will so just consoom and dont say anything negative okay!
If anything irks me, it's the fact that they went too hard on trying to close the door on all that came before. The shit they did with Myths and killing the Twelve off absolutely chafes me, still.
>Still no ETA on my physical collectors edition
Bros I'm getting worried.
Why does this game get compared to LotR so damn often anyway.
>ywn the twelve-turned-human npcs roaming the world like alpha and omega
I actually would've like that.
Only Oschon, he's the only one who genuinely seemed like he'd want to stick around instead of killing himself for nonsensical, arbitrary, forced reasons.
>entire expansion is about finding a reason to live
>raid series is about beings who want to do die, and we oblige them because frick you
I can't pick a job. I'm dooming.
>PCT
Would have auto picked this if it wasn't so gay/kiddie, still may play it
>BLM
Great choice but I always play blm
>DRG/MNK/SAM/RPR
All cool and might be interesting to play melee
every job in every expansion is Gay job/cool job
You can't make the gay job not gay or the gays/women that play this game will be disappointed.
SGE was the cool job and RPR the gay job in EW, wasn't it?
Alphinaud should've come out of his makeover with a big ass scythe. That'd be one hell of a job change,
You know, this is actually true now that I think about it.
It's a lot cooler to me than Kirito anyway.
>we're removing some of your damaging spells since you'll be healing more often in ShB
>there's less healing to do in ShB, healer gameplay worsened in all levels of content
If you want to watch Autism in action, this fricking Singaporean has dooming down to an art.

Oh, so that's where it's from.
>dooming
this homosexual is a yoship deepthroater
why are you doombucks always so fixated with sexual acts?
He has bipolar, he goes from loving to hating Yoshida.
I like Yoshida a lot because he's delivering my game, that's it.
Thanks for reading my blog.
If it was a one-off side story or free expansion I'd be good with the storyline
but if the whole expansion pack is simply
>low stakes isolated storyline
then I'm not interested in paying for it
that shit is free update-tier and not worth an expansion pack
I'm sure they'll put some hooks in there for the next arc but I'm not paying for anything until I see proof
Endwalker made me quit the game.

>everyone has a 15s invuln and a spammable heal thats more powerful than any healers that also applys a potent regen
Literally why would you do criterion with a healer? Just have everyone slot in cure and use it on raid wides
The same goes for things like BA and DRS, a cure action effectively replaces a healer and they even let you cast aoe cures, meanwhile healers still do less damage and provide less rdps than every other role.
you do not even play the game
try harder doomsissy
People who get carried on ultimates or cheat using plugins don’t get to have an opinion
two minute script ramping up
hit the next programmed response
>WHERE are healers useful
on forums to make you seethe
>healers are useless in
Nothing, really. Beyond quirky overly planned "we did this content 500 times let's try this without xyz for laughs."
Your average dungeon group isn't going to forgo healers.
Your average criterion group isn't going to forgo healers.
Your average raid group-
>your average dungeon group isn’t going to forgoe healers
Lmao
It's true. Rare are the times where I see any group rush ahead and ignore the healer, even when it's a warrior.
>people doing premades to spam dungeons or worse yet simply don’t use the roulettes and spam circus tower or pvp instead
Sure anon. I’ll continue living the fantasy that something problematic being possible doesn’t make it into a problem.
>premades
the frick do I care? they could do a triple backflip off a building and then solo the dungeon with half health for all i care
Its fine if you don’t but the fact that its a common practice still makes it into a problem and discourages the use of the df. Just like its a problem that certain alliance queues take far too long to be viable.
healers are useful in all of those but they're not necessarily fun to play.
thanks for the free tomes while i watch youtube
>people can form convoluted inefficient strategies to complete content without healers, this means that they are worthless
The funny thing is that in any other game, this shit would be lauded as "sovl."
But in XIV, it's a reason to melt down.
Because the vast majority of healers have God complexes and get off on the idea of "deciding who kives and dies", so they feel threatened by the idea of their power niche being diminished.
This wouldn't be nearly as funny if we don't remember the squealing from P8S.
If it can be done, it will become expected. Skip soar exemplified this.
Kek not including healers in content is not going to become expected you're out of your fricking mind.
Besides, tanks have been technically "useless" in stuff like dungeons for a while now as well because guess what, healer mitigation and healing is even more overpowered than tanks.
>healer mitigation and healing is even more overpowered than tanks.
if I get a slow/doesn't hit mits tank in expert roulette I just throw out lilybell and start cure 3 spamming while the DPS take them out.
exactly and holy is like a fricking trash pack invuln for the first several seconds of every pull, yet people are throwing a fit for some reason and really underestimating how strong healers are
Literally only trannies and french trannies whale this skinner box
I'm man enough to admit it was way too hard for me and that I regret buying it. Made it all the way to Sea Spider though so that's something.
Sometimes a game is just too hard for you. This is that game for me.
I'm sorry anon you unknowingly walked into a Barry thread, it's not actually about what he put in the OP but actually just a way to seethe about FFXIV the hit MMORPG that is getting a new expansion in two weeks.
If you find this tactic of his to be unpleasant, you can always report and hide the thread. You will not get the discussion you are looking for in here.
I'm ready for Dawnkino
Based
if healers are on strike why isn't there any adventurer in need for healers
because it's like 200 people in a game with over a million subscribers even during a content lull
Why did the metrics show less people played healers in ew then?
It’s over…
buyers impenitence, I can't wait for dawntrail and experiencing the story with my best friend, miserable homos can keep sitting in the bleachers on Ganker telling me the game is bad tho
We're so back
kill eceleb grifters
behead eceleb grifters
stick eceleb grifters into a trashcan
I want to molest zeplas 45 year old buns
I don't want my own planet. I fricking hate this type of content.
I’m not watching a video, post a text interview or summarize.
Frick Zelpha.
What podcast?
It'll probably be posted to his Youtube channel but it was Livestream on Arthars channel.
OkayMage, Llamatodd, SarahJane, Arthars and Quazzi that's who is on there.

quazi is my goto asian for vidya content
>zepla went nutty with acting as if island sanctuary was going to give people the world while yoship was trying to temper expectations
>she's gonna do the same with cosmic exploration
stupid fricking hag
Zepla lost too much good will from the community because of her doomering, it's not that people hate her anymore apart from the rancid troons that she herself cultivated for her audience it's that they just don't care.
It's not the doomering. It's the fact that she scurried off after being filtered by TOP and sandbagging in her static after which she started dooming.
Ok so Quazii's podcast wasn't so Doomer, actually got me hyped.
doomers are just trying to free you from your sunken cost, if you uninstall 14 you won't need to suffer anymore
why do you persist, why do refuse our gift
That's because...I'm having fun
Honestly you are the one person in these threads I genuinely hope dies sometimes, for whatever cause. You are way too fricking annoying.
Tell me how you really feel, whisper sweet nothings into my ear...
lol
Calm down Black person it's a fricking picture, use Ganker X and filter it if avatargayging bothers you that much newbie
Those gays who sperg are way worse than the avatarhomosexual to me, they keep feeding them attention and have since time immemorial
>>>/vg/
Nothing to free me from if I'm having fun. If it's people who no longer enjoy yet buzz around the game constantly feeling miserable (like said doomers), then I'd absolutely suggest quitting it. Don't make yourself miserable.
“Doomers” as you put it probably just want the game to be as good as it used to be while still getting new things. It really is unecessary to get excited at the removal of skills and sterilization of gameplay. There is a difference between dooming and wanting the game to be good
>“Doomers” as you put it probably just want the game to be as good as it used to be while still getting new things.
Then why reply and berate you hypocritical b***h.
Uhm, football enjoyers are troony cultists who just can't handle critique.
Irrelevant analogy and comparison
It really isn't.
The point is that everything that is enjoyed by people will be defended if you make objective statements about its quality or lack thereof. Nobody needs to follow your opinion on the current state of affairs with any hobby, game, recreational activity, whatever.
Football cannot be defended against other kinds of football. There is no comparison to be made unlike ffxiv. Football also hasn’t drastically changed as a sport in the last 10 years, unlike ffxiv.
The comparison is entirely moronic and you are also a moron.
No, I think you just don't like having no retort, so you have to contort yourself into a pretzel.
The fact of the matter is that FFXIV is an opt-in experience, and having a little melty at people who DARE to not think it's shit like you will endear nobody to you. As it shouldn't.
How so? Just replace "football" with "XIV" and you have the exact attitudes of most of the boomers who post in these threads. Well those who arent shit stirring WoWgays anyway..
Football is a sport
Ffxiv is game in a genre
It is a moronic fricking comparison, you absolutely cannot just replace ffxiv with football because you have no other types of “football” to compare it to. In short you are fricking stupid
There are two types of football actually.
Four, actually.
You know exactly what I mean, stop acting like a contrarian idiot.
Even so, how doesn't it apply? Comparisons aren't the point. Coming into a place and acting like an obnoxious douchebag saying that the thing that people are discussing sucks and is for gays isn't really contributing to a conversation regardless of the context, and it most certainly does not come from a place of concern for the future of the thing being discussed.
Most of these threads start with criticism, in case you haven’t noticed
I am not having a melty because people have differing opinions, all “meltys” in these thread happen because instead of having an actual discussion about these things you are met with dismissals of said arguments with things that sound very much like fake vitriol or avoiding the point entirely, much like what you are doing right now
And in most cases the "cricisism" amounts to little more than shit stirring homosexuals blowing their liquid diarrhea all over the place and acting offended when people tell them to frick off. DEAD troony GAME is not criticism.
I dont see you aiming that vitriol to those posts, instead you do some stupid shit like posting a smug anime girl image with no argument to a post that makes an actual argument. have a nice day hypocrite
I've never done that but OK. Believe it or not multiple people post in these threads
Oh so you acknowledge that yet you reply to my posts like that? You ARE a fricking hypocrite, have a nice day subhuman ape
Please explain to me then, without resorting to more hypocrisy why every single healer, black mage, kaiten, etc post gets met with dismissal or someone saying they are entitled?
What response would you prefer you whiny c**t?
Don’t respond if you don’t have anything constructive to add. Not to much to ask but you insist on being exactly the same as the people you criticize.
> They didn’t add new support options or gave healers reasons to use their heal gcds
they did both of these things in endwalker and it lead to this
it led to shit healers being unable to handle pre-ShB healing requirements? this isn't quite the own you think it is.
>support options
>endwalker
What fricking support actions you lying fricking c**t. The 2m meta is the very fricking antithesis of buff gameplay. You remember fricking royal road? Of course not you werent fricking born when it was made. Well royal road? Look it up, THATS fricking buff gameplay. Selene arr buffs on a fricking pet hot bar? Buff gameplay. Mages ballad and foe requiem? Buff gameplay.
We have NOTHING LIKE THIS NOW. Just fricking 2 minute tiny ass buffs so people don’t have to think about when to press it just press it on fricking cd and go john fricking madden
>I yearn for classic MMOs with significant support tools.
>NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO FFXIV IS ALL ABOUT THE DPS AND PARSING!!!
nobody misses brd or cor being mandatory in every single party in ff11 except brd or cor players who got to be server royalty
Take any other pastime, goober.
because I tried WoW for a week and then realized how good I had it with xiv. Now I'm back to where I started and im leveling up PLD for Dawntrail because I feel like being a tank main for once.
Hearing about people playing PLD after the abysmal rework makes me angry
I wish it didn't but I just can't let go
this. but you have to understand, i was a console pleb starved after exhausting oblivion. i had no idea what eurojank was. if only i had known, i could have been on the strangest of frontiers.
FORSOOTH
Will Altima be the same height?
Healer new actions hype
White mage
>white mage gets 3 fat gcd dps gains every 2 minutes with no actual interaction with the rest of their kit much less healing
>afflatus misery is still just dps neutral reward
>they get another healing ogcd skill they never need
>cure, cure 2 and regen are still worthless, cure 3 has extremely fringe usefulness
Scholar
>gets a new super form (instead of just upgrading seraph) that improves their gcd heals and makes emergency tactics 1s recast, in other words something that will never be useful, especially since you can’t use it with dissapate which you still use on cooldown
>fairy still doesn’t actually exist
>brand new aoe dot they can use every 2 minutes with no meaningful interaction with any of your healing skills or aetherflow
>physick, succor, and adloquim are still useless
>seraph still doesnt upgrade any of your fairy ogcds
Astrologian
>astrodyne and sigil system removed and replaced with 2 1 minute draws that give you card effects that are redundant with your entire kit, they didnt even bother adding a crit/dhit buff and the damage up cards are still 6% so they essentially made something that is better than the dogshit they smeared on the players before and replaced it with something that is still worse than what they had before
>gcd heals are still useless
Sage
>added more dps buttons with zero interaction with their kit
>toxikon and pneuma are now dps losses
>eukrasia dyskrasia is a second dot they have (will probably have its potency nerfed)
>addersting mechanic still useless, you shield your tank only to lose dps, movement utility is a meme at best when slidecasting exists
No remorse, no repent
We don't care what it meant
Another day, another death
Another sorrow, another breath

Starfield
Resident evil racoon city
why are they so afraid of adding multi-hit weaponskills? stuff like hyosho and resonant arrow having a bunch of successive hit effects with only a single damage value at the end is lame.
I don't understand either, it's definitely. I think Dream within a Dream, and Rage of Halone were the only multi-hit skills this game has ever seen.
ENTER
I can't believe I forgot about BLU.
That said, matra magic's multiple hits feel wonky.
Lalafell look like this?
God DAMN!!!!!!
I can carry those.
>muscle lala
...go on
Sadly can't be testing my luck
gimme the source for that body mod
Look for "Biblala", based on the Bibo series. You'll find it before long.
I enjoy the story camping in FFXIV expansions.
To me its like playing a new fun JRPG.
So the 45$ it will cost me to play it is fine.
I just want to know if content for resubing will be worth it.
All “utility” in this game are just tiny buffs you have to line up because they make no difference on their own so its not like you can pretend this is some sort of gameplay element if it can’t be used on its own.
>party buffs are just doing extra damage
number of people needed for a dancer to do their optimal damage = 8
number of people needed for a mch to do their optimal damage = 1
idk but it honestly pisses me off and it seems to be an excuse to make certain jobs completely overpowered. BLM and SAM have dominated this game for almost 8 years straight now, look at how much higher their DPS is. BLM even does the most rDPS and it doesn't even have a fricking raid buff, how does that make any sense?
get fricked INTlets
If BLM and SAM were so overpowered then they would be auto includes in every party and that just isn't the case.
SAM is, it currently occupies over 95% of all top speed and parse parties in savage. BLM would be too except the vast majority of people can't play it well or don't try.
the hyper minmaxers all pick the one thing that is slightly better then the others =/= that thing is overpowered in a general sense.
if sam was truly broken DPS the speedrunners would go with 4 samurai, but they don't because the only way samurai damage is actually that high is if they have buffs to pad, buffs that other classes contribute.
congrats you discovered synergy in a party based game, what makes something overpowered in these games is the fact it's over-centralizing in a game where every other job has the same copy pasted buff so SAM stands out as the only one to fill its niche leaving all other jobs in its role to compete for the privilege of buffing it
Man you just described why everyone whined about NIN, BRD, DRG etc in SB but it's not bad when it's SAM? SAM is even fricking worse.
Viper should do more DPS than samurai since it has no mitigation
Third eye is getting a better big buff too, I'd say viper should do about ~5% more DPS than samurai to make up for having no utility, that seems about right
Yeah SAM's mitigation is honestly insane, 5% sounds about right.
ACT doesn't work anymore even if i update it. what do you guys use now?
Devil May Cry 5
I fricking hate V. Played 3 and 4 on release, several playthroughs over the years but couldn't finish 5.
every xiv thread feels like this
tortanic broke this board
Ganker is just rage incarnate
That's just Ganker thanks to no moderation for at least 14 straight years.
What's his name?
I can't wait to explore the new world and do all the sidequests, find all the sightseeing logs, level Blue Mage, do fates, level my crafters and all that good shit.
If you had to recommend XIV to a raidloving M+ sperg WoW player, how would you do it?
Even Echo gave up on the top level dungeons because they were too hard
Frick off. You've ruined the game enough as is.
I would tell you to go back in time and play at any point before June 28th, 2019. I cannot recommend XIV in the state it has been in for five years.
I probably wouldn't. People that deep in the M+ maze probably wouldn't like XIV.
If all they do is go higher and higher in M+, they would have a hard time enjoying FF. No real analogue for them to get into
show them normal zeromus and say that this is the easy version
I wouldn't.
if they love WoW and still play it, they can just stay there and keep doing what they are doing
If you weren't as mindbroken, you could compare and contrast the available information with their actions and not preemptively b***h about stupid shit.
all of the bosses reworked for trusts got harder though. compare old prae where you kill ultima weapon so fast it can barely even get all its lines out compared to the current one where you actually have to dodge overlapping orange circles and he does damage. i've unironically seen wipes in it now when before it was a boss so easy because they had to rush 2.0 to release that they were joking that ultima weapon unreal will be the first time anyone has ever had to actually do some of the mechanics in this boss instead of killing it in 20 seconds
>diablos
doors were always a mechanic 1 person solved that magically forced everyone else to enter with you when you opened the last one, thats the exact sort of mechanic a trust ai can do
>You will NEVER see modern dungeons compste to old dungeons because of trusts.
all the reworked ARR dungeons > their old versions
the only way in which they got worse is that they're not as good at wasting your time with frivolous shit now
Where did this moronic idea that dungeons were ever good content even come from? Dungeons have always blown ass right from the stadt.
people who wanna pretend that they were super engaging back when you collected photocells and you had 3 branching tunnels that led nowhere (that you could see leading nowhere on the map)
>typo
Why do browns hate dungeons? Is it because they get kicked for being morons so they can only run them with trusts?
in ARR the dungeon meta was to unironically not even fight the mobs and just have the tank suicide run into the boss room so everyone else can warp in and then die so all the mobs lose enmity and run back out of the boss room
>before
Skill expression, wall pulls
>now
whoahhhhh slow down there son, kill these 8 mobs that do nothing to unlock the invisible wall and kill the next set of 8 mobs to reach the boss
the reason they design dungeons that way is because the devs saw people doing the old way and went "frick you". that's why many of the level 50 dungeons introduced through ARR patch quests have a half dozen walls between each boss or intractables to open the next door before they realized that was a little too obnoxious and drifted towards the current method
>literally not fighting the mobs is "skill expression"
>literally not fighting the mobs is "skill expression"
people will call that "flexibility" and pretend it's sovl RPG
>snowcloak? let's wall to wall pu-
>dead
>dying in snowcloak
Anon? Are you okay?
you weren't there on release anon, you just don't understand
Anon dungeons having one extra mob pack further down the hall to go get some Manor Varnish that eighty percent of people wouldn't even be able to use didn't make old dungeons better. The problem is thar XIV is only engaging in boss encounters, trash mobs have always been and will always be shit unengaging time wasters in this game because of how it is designed. Which means that the majority of your time spent in dungeons (clearing trash) fricking sucks regardless of what little extra side rooms they might or might not tack on.
>finish the 10 year story
>wrap up every loose end possible, tempered, beast tribes, garlemald, ancients, ascians, the twelve, the void, everything done
>clean state adventure on the horizon
>it's just ascians again, again
I'm in fricking tears from laughing at how stupid this actually is as I type it. Like genuinely what were they thinking?
>ascians
We're just memeing she's Altima y'know.
Yeah, because she's Pashtatrot.
They were, the remaining ones shouldn't factor into the story at all besides being cheeky side characters figuring out life without the grand plan. EW was one big goodbye to ancients and ascians, but guess what makes money and keeps tumblr subscribed? Yeah, its ancients and ascisns.
>she's Pashtatrot
You're so wrong it's gonna be so funny seeing you melt in the threads after DT drops.
Its a 33% shot tbh, but its not Altima.
And Mitron was a woman who appeared as a man. ARR was a long time ago, they probably forgot this scene exists anyways.
They're unironically not that clever. With XIV writing, the most obvious answer is the correct one.
Pashtarot is a dude, man
So was the majority of wow players before they transitioned
There's also a dude who forgot he was currently being torn into atoms in the lifestream but he still managed to attend a meeting.
I really feel like they're banking on everyone assuming her to be an ascian because it's the most obvious thing to presume.
Protip: She's Venat.
you have to let go, Anon...she is giga dead
damn I really hate that fujo b***h for writing that.
Brother, she didn't delete your porn folder. You don't have to be upset about it.
>tfw you don't get to go on comfy adventures with Venat
>tfw you don't get to bring your harem of side girls along
>tfw you have to wageslave for some moronic tiger who wants to be hokage
I don't feel so good my fellow WoL...
much as i hate the fujo for her fujo proclivities (g'raha being crammed into my face, mostly), I don't think she was the one who decided on Venat being gigadead.
I'm still mad that Crystal Zordon suicided by wol without paying me for saving the world for her. FRICKING ELIDIBUS help me more than her before dying and he fricking dies 3 times without fading out. WAS IT TOO FRICKING HARD TO AT LEAST DIE FIGHTING THE FRICKING BIRD INSTEAD OF ALPHINAUD????
I'm hoping it's somehow an advanced society that got merged from a shard into the Source. Would be a new concept that would potentially not be resolved by "lets all be friends".
Ascians were never wrapped up if you paid even the slightest of attention, and the Void is most definitely coming back around again at some point.
>It's clearly stated that Endwalker is the end of the Zodiark / Hydaelyn arc
>Contrarians pretend like this means there shouldn't be ascians anymore, even though there are at least five alive
As long as pictomancer is fun I don't care.
>really really obviously the Solution 9 is gonna be the XIV version of IX's Terrans/Genomes escaping the 12th shard's destruction
>MUH ASS IANS
Maybe Clifford for President is more your speed guys.
>Yoshida says to review Alexander and Omega for SHB
>they play a direct role in the plot
>Yoshida says to review Omega and Dragons for EW
>they play a direct role in the plot
>Yoshida says to review the Convocation for DT
>anon thinks they won't play a direct role in the plot
>delay savage a week
>everyone loves this
>they get a week to craft, enjoy the MSQ, and farm EX trial for weapon
>only one teeny tiny flaw is that now players have 900 tomes to work with week 1 of savage instead of 450
>devs refuse to balance the raid around this extra tome piece or even under the assumption all raiders have crafted HQ with EX weapon
>instead of delaying weekly tomes to savage launch or balancimg a raid to highly favor HQ crafted sets as the barrier to entry, they revert this whole process so now you're on a FOMO clock to gather, craft, prog, and farm tomes all at once
Am I crazy or the crafted/tomes don't come out until Savage in Dawntrail now? I swear that's what I read in the LL.
That's how it always worked when expansions released. They only changed it a bit for 6.2 and 6.4 because people didn't like feeling rushed to craft when the raid was out.
>Raidmonkeys lose their fricking minds when they're able to finish a whole raid on day 1 with XX1 ilvl instead of XX0 ilvl
I'm so excited.
>tfw you just wanna be WoL's cute little daddy girl but spergs on the doman linkshell call you an ascian
It's fine. She can join Gaia. Then they can both call the WoL daddy.
Cutscene skipper, Gaia doesn't know who we are.
I can't tell if this guy is serious.
At the tail end of the Zero Arc of MSQ Gaia walks in an calls us a literalwho to our face. We are beneath her notice.
Oh god he might be serious.
>he didn't do the raid series
>he didn't do the raid series
No fricking way she doesn't know who you are if you didn't do Eden, I need some limsa idler to confirm right now.
You don't know this game changes dialogue depending on what content you have and haven't done?
There's even a cutscene in stormblood where you get different dialogue if you're playing a healer
Apparently she just doesn't show up in the cutscene at all.
>anon has never talked to a snarky girl
Oh, lord.
that was a joke on her part, anon
Are you guys just pretending to be moronic?
In case you didn't realize anon, you're quoting two people saying opposite things.
Yeah, I wanted to quote the guy that replied to the bunny poster.
>Gaia doesn't know who we are
what is it with her
why does she want the Warrior of Dickness so bad
Why do you even post, moron?
>There are people here who don't know about the Ascian involved with Eureka.
Isn't he dead dead?
yes and his aether was used to help fuel Eureka and its weapons
He got flushed
did the story get leaked where are you getting these cutscenes
Latest live letter had the launch trailer:
?si=9sUJNQhucePw3Kti
Just had a Jam doughnut feeling reet fat right now.
Far Cry 5
REMINDER THAT EKSU THAT STUPID homosexual GOT BLOWN THE FRICK OUT LIVE ON AIR DURING THE LL ABOUT SPREADING THE 7.2 REWORK RUMOR AND OF COURSE USES ADDONS LIKE THE REST OF HIS KIND
what is the issue here?
He has an MP tick addon
All the best players use add-ons. You use a cell phone, right? Same thing. A cell is more reliable than a wired home phone. You're just a luddite.
It is, THO. Devs had multiple chances to increase damage done to tanks so they couldn't solo the whole dungeon to the boss, but for whatever reason CS3 are the kings of choosing the worst possible option at any given point.
>You use a cell phone, right? Same thing
I mean can you blame them with how much tanks whine?
>It is, THO.
jej
Just introduce random raidwides so people can actually hard cast an AoE GCD.
aoe gcds are too expensive MP-wise, they're like 10% of your entire MP bar
just have more debuffs to esuna instead, you can't mitigate that shit either
I'm between Heavensward and Stormblood, trying to avoid spoilers but...can someone explain to me why there is a cyberpunk city coming in the next expansion?
We have no idea. We're gonna frickin find out tho.
Also if that's got you all werided out, you're gonna see some wild shit from ShB onwards.
because the game jumped the shark
quit while you can
>what is the binding coil and literally everything the Allegans have done
We're talking spoilers everywhere.
eorzea is the africa of the star
we're the shithole
so there's a lot of places more advanced than there
>we are the third world shithole fending off mechanized colonists and monotheistic fanatics with spears and bows
Some shards have time (and probably with Ascian assistance) the ability to develop further than the Source ever can because the Ascians blow everything up and set civilization back every couple of thousand years.
Tl;dr: We don't know yet.
More satisfying explanation: FFXIV as a setting has a lot of time travel and time dilation shenanigans, like the previous anon said, there are shards that both move faster and might have gotten more time to develop their technology. Plus, the Source has had to deal with civilization-erasing calamities several times, all of which set technology behind and then had to be recovered.
>dilation
Am I the one that thinks viper sucks? the basic rotation being on autopilot and not needing any input is a major turn off.
Ok that's the basic rotation that will get you to where 90% of the player base are, how you bridge the gap for the rest is not so easy and straight forward.
It's painfully easy though, just pop enshroud whenever, use the twinblade thing whenever.
The job is somehow more braindead and plays itself than SAM or RPR.
You never make a decision I feel.
How do you know that, were you on the Media Tour?
All of the skills leaked already idiot. From what information we have it looks pretty bad.
So have you played it?
I've heard someone describe Viper as a job for ADHD toddlers
so I think it might actually cause most SAM players to swap, because they are likely going to absolutely eat up the literal Kirito job
God I hate armchair players who just go >no need friend, I've already imagined the playstyle in my head.
is it possible we are seeing a job easier than SMN? even Yoshi described it as "don't think about it too hard, just hit the buttons that light up"
there is no job easier than summoner
summoner has 0 thought
No job requires any thought. They are all static rotations you press in order.
Where in RDM's "static" rotation do you use Acceleration, Verfire, or Verstone?
see the optimized opener.
there are so few bosses that require you to adjust anything. outside of ultimate, completely irrelevant.
Anon... when do you use verfire or verstone IN A STATIC ROTATION?
list the bosses in the last tier that require adjustment and why, and then the ones that don't require adjustment and why
there's only 4 of them it's not a big ask
>tfw Samurai has more casts per minute than Summoner
you're supposed to fight bosses not target dummies, the thought comes when you have to optimize your movement and casting during the encounter
viper getting to pick how its combos flow instead of being locked into a hard 123 seems like it could lead to some neat stuff but we need to see how the meter economy works before I can make a call one way or the other. everyone thought reaper was going to be really simple until people realized its technically meter negative in most fights and they clued into double enshroud stuff that makes things a lot more rigid then they first appeared
even if its kinda lame, it has monk movement, a good amount of weaves, selfish dps damage and gets a good chunk of its kit before 70 so it'll make a nice brain off roulettes/treasure map job
You don't pick anything, rewatch the media tour videos. It's all automatic.
What you're referring to is a togglable option.
It's basically XIVCombo, which is always going to be out performed situationally by someone who is not relying on shortcuts.
No, wesk alber already confirmed that the GCDs are NOT untoggelable. They just work like that and automatically replace the other.
The job is designed for actual morons and plays itself.
Seeing raw abilities and rotations from people based on the Media tour is helpful but I want to experiment the flow of the job for myself.
>healers largely vanish from PF during abyssos because the first time in years raidwides and tankbusters actually do damage and everyone keeps dying leading to shit like this
healer players response "it's not my fault, we don't have enough mitigation buttons, its actually literally everyone but me not doing their job that leads to deaths but I'm being blamed, frick playing healer"
>dawntrail gives every healer a bunch of extra mitigation buttons AND new dps buttons
"what the frick, this isn't what I wanted at all."
healer mains = b***hes. simple as
Healers just want DPS shit, that's the only reason they ever complain. Every expansion is
>bring back HW sch
>bring back HW cards
>bring back HW energy drain
>take away dps buttons because they want healers to heal
>healing requirements are so low that I have nothing to heal
>okay, so do Savage
>bar is still extremely low and can rely mostly on oGCDs, especially when gearing up
what the frick does Yoshida want me to fricking do? just give us more dps buttons
Can't wait to try out new AST in EX and savage. The new damage shit seems to be implemented rather simply, but could be all you can really afford to do when 2 min mechanics happen.
I wanna try the new WHM stuff in dungeons
Glare IV + afflatus misery into holy spam sounds fun
I dislike WHM as such, but if it gets to be the aggressive damage healer, it could be pretty fun.
Yeah since HW pretty much WHM has been the offensive "personal damage" healer with no raid buffs. Great for pugs where your own good play does more damage than giving a shitter a 6% buff. Shits out healing too if you want it, actually was a huge issue at some points in SB because you could rip threat off the tank with one or two cure 3s
going by the current tooltips whm does more damage then sge when it was already doing more damage in endwalker
after the rework made lilies good I feel like whm is secretly the most interesting healer because blood lily in buffs being a DPS gain encourages you to make the most of your more limited heals per minute by picking the right time and stacking enough cooldowns, but then also if shit gets fricked you can go nova with cure 3 until the problem goes away. it's also easily the most fun in casual content because of holy, dots doing upfront damage and assize and is about to get a funny dash move
a single oGCD or replacement action only available during burst (once every 120s) isn't fun.
That video is pretty mean and it got 24k views too. Just goes to show how awful XIV players are.
This guy gets it.
Well guides has to show what everyone does. Most of the time you just need to remember where you have to stand and what you have to do.
There's nothing RPG about what you just said. And I'm not watching guides to play video games because I have a life.
Healers are b***hes and prostitutes. Always will be.
anyone else think absolutely everything to do with Solution 9 should have been hidden and obfuscated by the marketing so that its an actual surprise for players?
>implying it isn't hiding shit in plain sight
Mixed emotions. Can't sell it as just a summer vacation because it's too boring, but also unbelievable. First spoiler images would instantly raise eyebrows. The why is probably the interesting part, but then again it would be very interesting to go in blind and find out that there are bigger problems similar to how EW played out.
its not just being sold as a summer vacation, we are clearly going to destabilize the local government and cause untold levels of political turmoil and conflict
you know, the usual
It's ok, anon. The good guys win so it's justified political turmoil.
Would be funny if there were Garlean expats siding with an unrelated party that would heavily lean against Wuk Lamat because of us. Reminiscent of Nazies escaping to Argentina.
The secret treasure of the Golden City is going to be the key to shard hopping without having your body destroyed.
Lol moron, its the friends we made along the way.
>the treasure is a new in game gatcha that lets you pull for skins and weapons of your favorite characters
Thank you CS3, very cool
Why are the jobs either for morons or carpal tunnel inducing 15 spell endless combo?
>Give us the option to get married with NPCs and have children together
I changed my mind, the forums are based as hell.
Who're you picking. For me it's Sadu "Choke me harder, pussy" Dotharl

PITJOBS
Why is her skin so piss-yellow?
She looks like she's sick.
Or is it just me?
Made to get bred by the WoL.
I love her already. Will be a shame we'll have to kill her and everything she stands for.
Is it actually bad? I don't want to buy it if it sucks. I did enjoy Endwalker.
>I did enjoy Endwalker.
Then you'll probably enjoy Dawntrail as well.
Story notwithstanding, it'll have the same amount of content but more.
The only thing it won't have is Island Sanctuary, but that will be replaced by a similar feature: Cosmic Exploration.
Literally nobody knows. A lot of doomposting as per usual. If you want to be sure, wait a month and see the responses then.
well, the reaction to the launch trailer has been the worst in history.
My guy, we live in peak post-tortanic, post-WoW exodus era. Ganker is the only place I've seen be so insane about it because I don't visit other sites where kneejerk schizos reside. As said before, if you're having doubts, be patient and evaluate latter.
So are you saying you liked the trailer then?
It was fine. We have no prior information to really go off of. Previous trailers had more pieces we could connect together. This time we're going in raw in a sense.
>felt like playing for honor today
>open uplay for the first time in weeks
>for honor is on sale, perfect
>buy it and go to download
>game is somehow 100 gig
>lose all interest in playing
i could have asked for a refund but didn't bother
Post your cats from the benchmark! Do it! if you would kindly please.
Still waiting on fat femra
Dawntrail is still lined up to be the most content dense expac since Stormblood so I'm happy.
Needs updating when Beast Master releases.
I've just been avoiding everything since I don't want to ruin DT before I play it, what are we getting this time around?
Hopefully another Bozja...
Yep, another Bozja is confirmed
>Hopefuly another Bozja...
We're going to the frickin Bermuda Triangle for our field operation in Dawntrail.
also where amaurot should roughly be located
Another Field Exploration, another Ishgard Restoration/Diadem, hopefully a proper relic grind.
>another restoration
I mean who the hell else but Garlemald? Right?...Right?
>Garlemald
Nope, we're going to space and restoring worlds. Title is "Cosmic Exploration".
>We're going to spess before we help the tech lads get back off the ground
Imagine Garlean Engineering with Sharlyan bullshit.
The best we got is some shitty mammets, they could definitely make much better shit than that.
Anon, the Garlean homosexuals literally don't want our help because they're worried about being tainted by savage ideology.
We can't do Garlean Restoration til they calm the frick down.
No we're going to SPACE
>SPACE
Nope, we're building space colonies. Literally no one wants to build Garlean buttholes anything because they'd just shit on it and call us savages the whole time.
Garleans are moving to the moon, do your quests anon
That doesn't change anything about what I said.
The rabbits want to build them shit so you are wrong
We're traveling out to restore planets, Garleans may or may not be involved but we're not building shit for them specifically either way.
They might settle down somewhere after we fix it up
They're frozen corpses at this point not garleans
SOME Garleans are moving to the moon.
The rest of the stubborn c**ts are lurking in the frozen hellscape hoping their stupid senate will fix everything. We even brought them fuel and they told us to frick off.
it's hilarious seeing them stick to their little social caste system following their implosion. I believe all the nobles are still hoarding all the good gibs.
>I believe all the nobles are still hoarding all the good gibs.
They are, in that dumb parliament building they have and whatever warehouse they have attached to it that you visit with Edgelady and the crew.
At some point Jullus is going to become a dictator "ellected" by the common people because the nobles just won't stop being morons.
I did expect it to be Garlean Restoration.
I don't give a shit for Garlemoids, but I do like Gaius. Shame he's gonna be a goner for longer.
I would assume relic will go back to being tied to the field exploration
>Bozja 2.0: Bermuda Pirates
>Ishgard Restoration: Terraformers edition
>Variant dungeons
>same old dungeon, raid, trial, ultimate shit as before
>new limited job Beastmaster, sometime in 1-1.5 years time
>some unannounced features
If the patterns hold we should be gettting moon/space colony housing next expansion.
i wish the pattern led to instanced housing
>oh by the way my little spark.. did I ever tell you about the magic techno city on the jungle continent?
Emet told you to find the golden city, he clearly wanted you to find the graphics card rave tower
>there's this saucy little minx who has been derelict in her duty as an Ascian for nigh on a thousand years.
>take her across the knee and let her have it.

That will never happen. And in IX remake it will be censored. Wouldn't even be surprised if the remove the sexual assault scene.
Grabbing ass because a woman refuses to listen and climb onto the airship is not sexual assault.
