Yeah I agree but you can dowload a mod that makes you play offline and the pricing can be alright if you buy it now

Haven't played 3, but wouldn't call 1 or 2 flawless.
In 1 story consumes gameplay, especially near end. Last few missions are shit.
In 2 you can clearly see how they were running out of time, pacing of the story dies after Life of party and they reusing same unfinished map twice in Casing the Joint and Masks.
My elders kept on tellling me. 'You won't know what you had until it is gone.' But of course I didn't listen. Tale as old as time.
Sonic Advance 3 is a pretty logical end to the series. Eggman goes too far and literally destroys the world. The last level has hype as frick music and takes place on Angel Island. Eggman dies. fin.
also Chaos Angel is one of the hardest 2D Sonic levels.
I found a better representation of this great level.
3 is very flawed it was forced as a third person console game that can go into first person. Its literally unplayable without mods due to all the loading and garbage.

there are very few. great artists always seem to choke on the third installment Even with Metroid Prime they fricked up on the third one, and Metroid Prime was a perfect formula.
