how the FRICK did people convince themselves that clicking over and over and over and over and over and over and over again and then carting back all that FRICKING ore because "lol letting u teleport it would trivialize the progression" was actually fun?
was it brain damage?
nta but everyone was shilling Valheim EXTREMELY hard when it dropped. I love Runescape, which semi-similar graphics and involves clicking resources for hours on end, so I figured there had to be SOMETHING that had everyone I knew telling me to get it. It was O.K. with friends, but extremely overhyped.
But we also just came off a 4 man Terraria run so I think I was burnt out on the survival-craft progression formula at the time.
I did this always, I didn't mind the grinding for materials but its just moronic to not be able to teleport as majority of the games content already was gathering resources.
>install valheim >play for a bit, think to myself "fun game, i'll wait until we get a bit more content so i don't burn myself out" >still waiting
>mfw all the zoomers putting 800 hours into these games during the first month and then going "well i got my money's worth, devs could frick of to the caribbean with their cash and i wouldn't care" before dropping it for the next FOTM
This is the most boring game I've ever played. There are a few fun moments but the vast majority of the time you're just climbing by repeatedly pressing one button.
It also shows a huge problem with Neil Druckmann's writing outside of the pozzed globohomosexual shit- the endless flashbacks that make it feel like the story isn't moving forward at all.
This is the only video I've seen that captures just how interminably dull this game is:
Oh my fricking god THANK YOU. I am so goddamn sick of hearing people dredge up this game and specifically dunkey's shit opinion that this is some cinematic masterpiece for gaming. The first few hours of this game possess some of the most chorey gameplay I have ever seen
Fallout New Vegas bored the frick out of me on my first playthrough until I got to New Vegas. Then my interest peaked when I made it back to Ranger Station Charlie seeing it pillaged by the Legion. Then after a good 140 hours and doing literally every humanly possible in the game it bored the frick out of me again because I've done every worthy playthrough that isn't an autistic lvl 1 challenge run.
Imagine how much better it would be if obsidian had more time.
Now imagine a place that picked up the pieces and continued what was cut from the game
That's what mods are for. Seriously alot of the emptiness of new Vegas is because of how lil time obsidian had
The MP was fun, but I agree. The singleplayer had a few cool shootouts and I liked driving aroundin the short period the game allowed us to, but in general it was pretty boring, also, I really hate the climbing sections, it feels like I'm just watching a really long and boring cutscene because my inputs don't really matter.
Yeah, I remember being impressed by the trailers, thinking they'd make another Uncharted 2 after the disappointment of 3. But 4 wasn't much better. Great combat, though.

GreedFall. It's the only game I can recall in the past 5+ years that I quit because I just wasn't having any fun nor was I even remotely interested in the story.
I managed to complete this and wish I didn't. The only good part is unironically the prologue. Once you arrive in the New world it becomes a boring slog where you spend 90% of your time running
This but with 1 >Wow this dialogue and walls of text suck, I want to get back to the combat >Wow this combat sucks, I want to get back to the combat
https://i.imgur.com/t29WTYc.gif
ITT: games that bored the hell out of you
Nu-GoW is the representation of everything wrong with many action games today, slowing down both the combat and the actual game itself forcing you into menus for """"RPG"""" elements like crafting and skill points
Shooting civilian cars right in the gas tank with a pistol and having them explode while flipping forward mid drive will never come back and you’re the reason why.
Sleeping Dogs may have been the last good open world game. That was right before that whole trend really started and they just became absolute dogshit.
I don't even get why this was so boring. Like, yea, mc was unlikeable, but that's true for every similar game except SA.
Too easy maybe?
Also
Code Vein: Enemies would just arbitarily not stagger when they felt like it making all the cool multi-hit moves not worth using and greatsword specials (which were near instant despite it being the 'slow' weapon) overpowered and the maps were some of the worst I've seen in a game. Not just the cathedral. The swamp is also just copy paste x 50.
Nioh: It just never actually uses 90% of its enemies for no fricking reason and there's only so many times I can kill generic undead, big generic undead and 1 eyed guy before it becomes trivial and boring.
The Surge 2: You get incredibly important passives like 'don't use stamina on a parry so you can act after it' on equipment sets. Not using said sets makes the game less fun. The games accessory system can't remedy this. So once you find an equipment set you like, all loot becomes completely meaningless, as its less fun than what you currently have and you can just upgrade your current shit repeatedly.
Dark Souls 3: Every fricking enemy group is 1-2 guys who fall from the ceiling or 3-5 9 foot tall very fast boys who rush you at once. It just felt like I was fighting the same fricking enemies over and over again with slightly different skins.
Pic related.
I don't even hate it. I just find it boring. The combat is so dull, the enemy variety is nonexistent (and what does exist is completely unremarkable), the abilities are incredibly bog standard and "exploration" involves you finding a single loot box inside of a samey office, samey toilet or samey sehlter rooms. I felt zero emotion every time you'd get forced back into that weird motel area and solve a simple puzzle to move the plot forward.
The game has no music that I can remember.
But at least shooting things felt good enough. Remedy can at least do that in all their games.
lisa the painful, bioshock, borderlands 3 >lisa had a good story but the gameplay was just so bland and repetitive >bioshock had the same problem but the story wasn't as good for me. The world was nice to look at though >borderlands 3 was just flat out bad, the writing was awful and everything was a bullet sponge, I only played it because my friend always wanted to play it. I would dread getting the text from him saying to join in when he saw I logged into steam after work
3 was just flat out bad, the writing was awful
Agreed. The first game was nice for it's novelty value, the second was eh, but 3 and everything associated with it was a shitfest
Lisa’s gameplay is super samey (and I’ll admit that some of the areas are shitty to navigate) but I had so much satisfaction making an absolutely broken build.
3 was just flat out bad, the writing was awful
Agreed. The first game was nice for it's novelty value, the second was eh, but 3 and everything associated with it was a shitfest
>Borderlands 3 writing was so horrific it managed to completely butcher and destroy the world building and characters from 1,2, and Tales all within its main story
It's honestly the worst modern vidya story I've ever had to slog through and I've only played it once, after I was finished I never bothered to look at the DLC. Meanwhile I've played through 1 and 2 at least three times, finished presequel twice, and finished Tales all while having a good time (Except the playthrough I had as Athena since my first one was with Claptrap)
Borderlands 3 made me question if I really liked Borderlands or if I just liked Handsome Jack. Replaying 2 was rough because a lot of the humor did not age well except for the Jack parts.
Considering they had to drag Jack out for the pre-sequel and tales from the borderland, AND they marketed the package as the handsome bundle shows that Jack was carrying those games on some level.
Yeah, because after all that? My file is 95%.
I've traded with the Waddle Dee, I challenged all the colloseums, I've beaten the tilt game and caught the really big fish, expanded the concert and played all the ability challenge trials
Now I'm just farming coins and rare stones to get all my abilities to Star level and I just want it to end.
If you aren't enjoying yourself why bother 100%ing the game? I never understood the completion autism that forces people to suffer through mindless gameplay just so they can see that 100%.
I have completed several games to 100% but only if it was enjoyable to do so. Mario 64? Yes. Sunshine? No.
The first assassin's creed. I finished it, but only because I had already bought Ass Creed 2 and I wanted to play through the whole story. Luckily Ass Creed 2 and its sequels were miles better.
I'm grading on a curve here. Ass Creed 2 is top action exploring game when compared to the nothing that Ass Creed 1 was.
Never played Ass Creed 3 because the steam version had some shit happen to it and it never came back and I didn't bother to continue playing through the franchise.
Yakuza 3 sucked but the ending was one of the best
As someone who played all the yakuza games, I actually liked 3, and it has a lot more soul than I originally thought. Not the best game, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it
also FRICK kiwami 2, FRICK dragon engine combat, and FRICK jingweon mafia plot bullshit
>Final Fantasy 12, 13, 15 >Far Cry 2, 3, 4 >Dead By Daylight >Yakuza Like a Dragon >Paper Mario Origami King >Super Mario Odyssey >Horizon Zero Dawn >Saints Row 2, 3, 4 >Red Faction >Halo Reach Campaign and Multi
Why do you have so many sequels in that list? Are you that stupid that you can't help but consume new big game despite not liking the previous installment of said game?
Mario Odyseey is so far my favorite 3D Mario. I haven't finished neither, but Odyseey pleases my ADHD, there's always shit to do in every corner, and the motion controls are fun.
The best thing is that i didn't even paid for it, thanks Yuzu devs.
The memory puzzles were neat. But the combat was just so repetitive, boring and shallow. And the platforming was just awful, it was like a wannabe Uncharted 2 in that regard.
Really a snapshot of everything wrong with vidya at the time.
The biggest mistake people make is trying to treat it like a stealth game since the opening dialogue makes you think you should be non-lethal/stealth.
The stealth sucks. It's crouch-waddle bullshit. Only exists to make you appreciate Thief more. Gun everyone down and it's still a pretty well paced affair.
>guy running armoury gets upset when I run&gun >do it more purely out of spite and the fact I have atleast 6 grenades on me at all times
Admittedly I always thought that was funny first option;
“So they have a hostage, hacked one of the military rombas with guns for arms and we need you to find and interrogate the leader. So take your pick of a sniper rifle, tranq mini crossbow or a MOTHER FRICKING CUSTOM NEW MODEL RECENTLY DEVELOPED GUIDED ROCKET LANCHER”
I’ll take the GEP gun, every time
>Most of Tales of Vesperia (haven't played the others) >DQXI >Ni no Kuni >Pokemon >Super Mario 64 >Cadence of Hyrule >Ace Attorney Investigations 1 >GTA V
I literally deinstalled in yesterday after I finally started it. Came to the part where you can go outside and then just couldn't bother anymore. At first I didn't know what was wrong with it but it seems like I was just bored to the extreme.
god of snore. i started on give me gow but as soon as you're out of the beginning stages and start actually getting gear/stats/etc the game is way too easy. i got tired of playing for 5 minutes and then going back to movie mode. it's insane how much praise it got for being such a shitty game
Armored Core 4 felt completely soulless nearly to the point of depressing me out.
Battlefield 4's campaign had the weakest blandest opening and I dropped it right there.
Most turned-based RPG's are just fundamentally boring, only good for story.
Same with modern non-momentum Sonic games, complete shadow of its former self.
I also fell asleep during Dishonored and Splatoon, but probably not entirely because of said games. Dunno because I haven't gone back to them yet.
>MMO fantasygays would play >generic dude on cover
Meanwhile we could have had this. Are we actually attracted to covers like this? I know I would prefer picrel more and I'm an American, but I wonder if I'm just an exception
>Are we actually attracted to covers like this?
No and I don't know why the frick they keep doing it.
Every study actually conducted on covers has said that it's honestly pretty irrelevant what's on the cover since nobody buys boxed copies blind anyway, and anytime public feedback is sought people always overwhelmingly prefer the fully illustrated art covers.
Biggest example that comes to mind was the Bethesda poll for the Doom 2016 flip cover that absolutely stomped the other selection.
So I don't know why the frick America keeps getting inflicted with shitty boring 3D cg render covers, it sucks. It's one of those things that companies do because other companies are doing it. Big daisy chain of mediocrity.
It not just you, Yoshitaka Amano unique art style captures that magical spirit of final fantasy and speaks volumes of the wonders final fantasy worlds bring.
I'd pay extra for a special edition that just has his cover art as a bonus 🙂
For some reason, doom eternal bored me so much I redoenloaded doom 2016 to see what was better
Needless to say I finished 2016 again and didn’t touch eternal, trying to convince myself to go back to it
>Those doujins of Hiro having a loving sexual relationship with his big brother Tadashi >Almost all of them flash forward to Hiro at Tadashi's funeral or Hiro fantasying about his brother only to remember he's dead.
3 Houses. Gameplay wasn’t even bad but my god the monastery was the worst social sim implementation I have ever played and basically doubles the game’s length with eating and fishing.
Grabbed it because Vesperiagays shilled it for years. Not completely terrible, but it was fricking boring and it was the only Tales I was never able to finish.
I got Resident Evil 6 and unistalled it within 2 hours. Had to frick with steam to get the button prompts to work. First 1 hour of the game is literally just walking around and doing QTEs.

Has the Ganker meta changed?
Not every picture has to be relevant to video games as long as the topic itself is you fricking autistic moron.
Why would you complain about this but not stock photo reaction pics, gigachad, redditfrog or anime?

Because those aren't op posts.

It's not whataboutism, I'm just telling you that "off topic images" have been a thing on this board since its inception, and it's no problem as long as the thread itself is about video games, which this is.

Ganker is so boring nowadays s m h
>Xenoblade Chronicles X.
It's pure grind. >World of Horror.
Very hands off mechanically and the event system means that not of the setpieces have any real build up or tangible consequence.
And my most controversial one: >Darkest Dungeon
Feels like a mobile game. I didn't even keep with it long enough to get to the infamous endgame grind.
BotW is Zelda for people who don't actually like Zelda so that makes sense. Great Plateau feels good because that part ACTUALLY feels like Zelda 1 dragged into 2017, and then the rest of the game happens.
All that tells us is that you play and like Zelda games because they're popular, not for any particular intrinsic aspect of the series resonating with you. Also fricking LOL if you think that guy is gatekeeping fricking Zelda, one of the most popular gaming franchises that even most normalgays have played. Frick off back to red dit or whatever other hole you crawled out from.
Dark Souls 1
Its so empty, challenge alone doesnt hold up a game also its very easy, only early on its hard if you fight everything without cheesing it with backstabs because the spear Hollows lol.
What a stupid game, the worst souls game.

My biggest issues with Fallout 3 was the garbage spread and damage on every gun that made firefights a chore, and just how many of the dungeons were direct copy and pastes of each other. Especially towards the endgame when you're clearing Black Rock, but the metro tunnels were infamous for a good reason.
Fallout 4 has it's own problems - armour looks like shit and settlements are as glitchy as they are a timesink and a complete waste of time, so on, but I thought it was a solid "fine."
>Bullet spread and damage >firefights a chore
Yeah I forget how dogshit f3 combat was until I played recently after 12 years. 13 year old me Must had so much time and shit taste to complete the game twice on PS3 of all things. F4 may have been a ok looter shooter but the "rpg" systems are so broken and the world so half baked it sucks my will to play it >Solid fine
Yeah that's my opinion on it too....after I dump 244 mods on it first. Even then I find myself bored from the shootin n lootin cuz the quests, the big thing driving my adventure, are so ass and every npc is just a cardboard cutout giving me fricking fetch quests until the end of time. To this day I still haven't played f4 dlcs because of this even tho I bought them
Decided to replay AC 1
It's kinda cool but shit because there's so much talking and no way to skip
all you do is go from point a to b and kill a guy
thinking about dropping it
Monster Hunter Rise. I put 15 hours into it, "finished" the story, and I don't fricking get it. The annoying gameplay loop, repetitive boring combat, grinding for monster parts for gear, and having the weapon skill trees locked fricking sucked. And every fan's response is "that's just the game." This shit is beyond overrated. I will coom to the maiden twins though.
I put 35 hours into Tri about a decade ago and came to a similar conclusion. I think you just have to really be in it for the grind and/or whatever social aspect you can dredge up with it.
>Hardspace: Shipbreaker
That seemed like such a home run for the sort of work sims I like that I can't believe I ended up regretting the purchase. >here's 0 new ships between now and release famalam, enjoy
Can't blame you for either.
The original super mario brothers. I remember playing it as a kid when I first discovered the joy of emulation, but never ended up beating it for some reason. Probably because I got bored back then too. About 3 years ago I decided to give it a try on real hardware and beat it in ~15 minutes using the warp zone. Never died, never felt challenged by the level design and never touched it again. Same with SMW, except that had way more filler levels and I never finished it.
It’s so fricking bad. I understand coomers like it for the ass, but everything, EVERYTHING else was horrible. The writing was mind numbingly terrible, and made me cringe every other line. The gameplay felt like a bad MMO. The music was fricking boring and incredibly underrated.
Then I hear that you have to beat that shit like 5 times to get the “real” ending? Can’t believe people view it as even decent.
What a piece of shit game.
Anon, he's talking shit about you because you did a very bad job of describing Automata's gameplay, which is more like toothless Bayonetta with babby's first bullet hell stapled on instead of "a bad MMO".
>Then I hear that you have to beat that shit like 5 times to get the “real” ending?
Getting Ending E is properly beating the game once. You don't replay the opening hours 5 times in a row.
Yeah, I felt the same way
Maybe I was making an invidious comparison, having just played Devil May Cry 5 when I played it. But the Nier combat just wasn't doing it for me.
I think a lot of people saw that Platinum was involved with Automata and clung to that but the reality is that it's a Yoko Taro game with assistance from Platinum, not the other way around.
I think it has the same problem as Deus Ex. When you try to do every sort of gameplay, you can't do any specific form of gameplay very well.
Nier had fighting, shooting, flying and platforming sections, but they were all just kinda lackluster. And the game is too long.
>Empty open world. >Bland gameplay ESPECIALLY for a Platnium game.. >Stumbling serves no purpose other than to annoy the player >26 endings is BULLSHIT. Am I missing something to this game's combat? It seems like I literally just spam buttons randomly and that's it
Are there combos I'm missing or something?
Good, people that praise this game don’t deserve to read my posts.
Finally someone says it
>Empty open world. >Bland gameplay ESPECIALLY for a Platnium game.. >Stumbling serves no purpose other than to annoy the player >26 endings is BULLSHIT. Hey, maybe I’m misremembering. But after the opening of the game, I remember the quests being “go to this area and kill this many things.”
Not that it mattered, the story was nonsensical cringe anime shit.
Ok to be honest anon I played demo back in the day so I wouldn't know how the quests work. But just having fetch quests doesn't make it MMO tier. It's got to have mind numbing combat like click spamming for nier to be that which it doesnt
The original twewy, I have no clue how people find the gameplay engaging. And I played it back then when I was first starting getting into anime so I was all holy shit an anime game for DS??
I also played and beat it and thought it was terrible. The fans make it seem like a cult classic masterpiece, but I quickly learned it's just a bunch of loud homosexuals with shit taste who spam the same reaction images when someone points out the game sucks.
like a week ago I started playing astral chain, it was really boring and disappointing, the story was a cliche and very easy to predict, like halfway the game it became tedious and the quests were stupid, find cats, find toilet paper, walk over there, things feel empty and areas too small, monsters never re-spawn and you can only fight them once, the background music was "European farm/driving" simulator tier. I have never been so disappointed of a game I waited so long to play,
Doom 3
I'd play fear or riddick any day over it if I wanted an fps with a light gimmick from that era. I'd play Quake 4 if I wanted a meh FPS, at least that one is fun at times.
Half-Life: Alyx.
Christ, just give me guns and let me shoot shit. Frick off with your ammo scarcity and muh spooky zombies. And more importantly, let me shoot more and BIGGER guns instead of making me upgrade the one same peashooter until it shoots peas slightly faster and has a funny light on it. Even if you can't do that, at least let me punch the zombies for fricks sake. I'm not going to be shitting my pants over anything you throw at me, I just want to kill it.
This game was shite. Frick zoomers and soýboys who treat Half-Life as a horror franchise, it's a fricking shooter franchise. Thank frick Medal of Honor came out with an actual good VR shooter, even if it ran like rotten ass at release.
>The outer worlds
That disgusting amount of pride obsidiots had with calling this a spiritual successor to new Vegas is a blatant lie. For what little improvements ow makes to the gameplay and other things, it breaks twice as many or doesn't improve at all. >So many skills to specialize but u improve clusters of them until 50 >Perks are just generic boosts with no requirements >Stupid companion ai. Got to constantly tell them to kill enemy biting Thier ass >homosexual looking characters everywhere >Story about corporations taking over but hire the most incompetent people overhead and generally frick up their systems constantly because....profit? >Space Western but sanitized and consumable for ur average redditor. >Hell the reddit tier humor (like in the item and enemy descriptions) makes me roll my eyes >ONLY 3 AMMO TYPES >Quests generally are just fetch quests. Rarely find a quest that lets u think or even do in one town area
And I could ramble more. Shit like this adds up to a boring experience. No wonder people forgot about this game a week after release. Not even the dlcs brought them back
Every single game by these developers.
The bosses were kinda fun in Henry Hatsworth, but the levels are a snoozefest.
Monster Tale felt like an unfinished beta, it's not even fun raising your monster.
the last of us1 (ps3)
I rmpert buying it with beyond two souls
it was a very mediocre/bad/generic game and then I watch some reviews and people are losing their shit over it ??
anyway,I unironically enjoyed beyond A LOT more 🙂
Kek same for me.
I literally dropped the first tlou after 2/3h of playing...
It was just... A boring zombie game with a good optimization. Maybe i was in a bad mood, but at the time i havent enjoyed nothing of it.
I dunno if i should try to play it again or not. I still have it in my drawer lol
I liked it. Of course it's a Sony movie game but the graphics and atmosphere are nice (especially for the time) and I liked the characters. I also think the gameplay is not bad. The impact and the violence of hitting and shooting is visceral. But yeah, it's no masterpiece. I much prefer other similar games like The Walking Dead Season 1 and Lisa: The Painful.
>huge metroidvaniagay >hear hollow knight is the secondcoming of christ for the genre from Ganker >play it >get bored within 2 hours because the visuals, level design and player character's movesert are uninspired >stop listening to what gays on Ganker say is good
you should definitely care more about the raw gameplay in a metroidvania IMO
I thought the core upgrades were uninspired and the many optional loadout upgrades were not very impactful. I hate it when a game tries to be darksouls
Many of the charms literally change the tide of battles when you equip them. It's a huge pain in the ass to fight a boss without any charm. You're just lying
The upgrades being "generic" is a non issue. It's le platformer metroidvania. There's only so many original movememt upgrades you can put into such a game. The upgrades work well
The game has pretty environments everywhere. It's meant to be an underground bug kingdom lol. The characters don't clash at all. Did we even play the same game?
finally someone said it !
the wired thing is that its not only Ganker who shill it but everyone else too.. normies included
what a wired phenomena, a glitch in the gaming industry
OG Fallout tbqhwy
It takes like two minutes to kill the first rat you see in the game, I was out immediately
whats the deal with metroidvanias
just a bunch of locked doors
oh no you cant go this way yet come back later
over and over
who cares
i like shantae though she cute
I honestly can't remember the last time a game truly bored me to absolute tears. Maybe I've just been lucky but I enjoy a majority of the stuff I play or find it enjoyable enough to finish it and then put it away.
Tlou2, The only reason I didn't mind the walky/talky sections of the first one were thanks to the good pacing and its two main characters, bored me to tears.
I would legit rather watch a movie of FFX because the aesthetics and music are so good but the combat is fricking sleep inducing. I really did give it a fair shake.
I jumped into xenoblade 2 torna, and I could not believe how little I was accomplishing in such a huge amount of time. you couldnt actively dodge attacks, so why move around?
you could put a giant piece of cardboard over the screen and cut a small window to see your cooldowns and you would perform just as well. its the least interactive shit ive ever played and I dont know why theres a third game
dying light.
was expecting a zombie game with fun gamplay
based on everyone recommends. >if you liked dead island you gonna love dying light even more !
turns out it was a parkour game with mexican movie filter
Oh God, I forget to consider Pokemon games. I tried Pearl back when it was new and its molasses speed everything was genuinely unplayable to my sensibilities. It was the kind of experience where I felt myself aging as every second passed anytime I had to do anything. Gave it about an hour before I couldn't do it anymore.
Silent Hill 2 was a fricking SLOG playing. The apartment complex is so fricking boring. Anytime I play SH2 I specifically open up a video of a speed runner playing and just get through that shit as quickly as possible. The rest of the game is great though
SH games never seem to do intro levels well enough (except 1's school). I'd never play SH3 again because the thought of fricking around that mall > sewer > construction yard just makes me cringe.
>Boring story >Boring main cast >Boring villains
How such a boring game got to have the best battle Ive had in an smt game ever(duel with that dude with the glasses) is baffling to me. Sadly, neither he or Nemissa could save the game.
and there's a reason every single image of this game covers up the aliens by having them wearing a space suit. Because aliens are so fricking dumb looking that nobody would buy this game if you saw what they actually looked like beforehand.
FireWatch
I regret playing it a lot
what a wast of time, I know it was a story driven with 0 gameplay BUT I continue playing.. thought the end is worth it
how little did I know.. god it was so bad
WHY WOULD ANYONE WITH A FUNCTIONAL BRAIN THINK THAT THIS GAME IS WORTH RECOMMENDING ??

Gone Home at least had a solid story with a beginning and an end. I wouldn't pay money for it, but it's not bad in any way.
Firewatch sets up to be something way bigger than it is and then just shits the bed and ruins it completely by the third act.
I beat the chaoter 3 boss. It was such a fun fricking fight. Beat it by the skin of my teeth using the hard mode badge. I got through a little bit of chapter 4 but then I just realized that I don't care about the characters nor story enough to finish it which is a shame. I really did wanna like this game so while the gameplay clicked, everything else didn't
>I just realized that I don't care about the characters
Yeah, the pacing is a problem. The actual major character developments don't really happen until the last two or three chapters and the post-game, so you kinda just have to take it on faith that you'll grow to like the characters more eventually.
That's fair. I'll revisit the game some day and try to push through to see if I do end up liking the characters but for now it has been shelved. The gameplay is stellar though and very fun so props to the team for that. It just wasn't enough sadly
Only game I didn't finish in recent memory was the Crew 2.
The game was so painfully dull because you are literally locked into ez mode for all the events and you unlock "harder" difficulties by winning the same event over and over agin...
Fallout New Vegas was such a disappointment to someone that never played any of the games. >dude this game is one of the best games ever! you gotta try it! >opening is strong, the shootout with the powder gangers was fun >afterwards you spend the next hour or so walking (without a sprint input) a boring desert from location x to location y, radio numbed that >game also hikes up the difficulty on like the 3rd main quest so the guns you have and got from stores are now fricking worthless because the enemy's defense is too high and your bullets don't do shit >stores don't sell enough AP early game to have a consistent amount
Maybe I just have shit taste, got filtered, and these kind of games aren't for me. But if this is one of "the best" then I wonder how mind numbing the others are.
This piece of shit >squat in a bush for 20 minutes listening to every sound carefully >get headshotted by a homosexual doing the exact same thing 15 meters away from me
I've got 2.1 hours played and can't even fricking refund anymore
Dont forget incompetent devs >Cant make a single patch without some huge bug "sneaking" in >"P-Please giv us money :((" >All the money goes for the next farcry anyway
God I regret wasting my time with this shit. I miss the old times shortly after it left EA
Sniper Elite 4
I should have learned my lesson not to trust Rebellion to make anything good ever
EVER SINCE SNIPER ELITE 2 ALWAYS THE SAME GAME, OVER AND OVER
THEY'LL NEVER CHANGE, THEY'LL NEVER CHANGE
AND THEY GET TO MAKE THE TOP SELLERS ON STEAM? WHAT A SICK JOKE
>If you were underwhelmed by SM, then buy this! It features "ultra changes" from the original release! >"Ultra changes" apparently entails adding flowers to part of the first route, arbitrarily changing some of the Totem Pokemon, and making the story a billion times worse
This, coupled with LGPE being Go shit, is what caused me to drop this fricking franchise and never look back.
I tried my absolutely hardest to like this game or any Monster Hunter game since ironically my friend circle all love Monster Hunter, but I just can't find the fun in it. I love the graphics and music, plus the concept seems like my type of game yet im just not feeling it.
Sorry for the late replay, but I think I was using the Great Sword. The thing looked cool, but it was just so sluggish to use and someone told me it's just apart of the immersion, which was a fair point but I just wasn't having fun.
I strongly recommend picking a different weapon if you ever go back to the game. GS is literally the slowest and most commitment-based weapon in the series. I liked using the Switch Axe.
Horizon Zero Dawn
Dropped that shit when I hit the desert zone and the stupid b***h died from jumping off a one story high rock because it wasn't the "correct" way to get down
Uncharted 1. I fell asleep after only having played an hour. A coworker keeps telling me to try playing again, and I've tried 3 more times, but each time I get so bored that I just drop it.
Ironically im in the same position. My co-worker kept hyping up Uncharted and I bought the first 3 game bundle on sale at gamestop, but it just feels like a bootleg Tomb Raider to me.
Godhand, it's the worst circlejerked game on Ganker. It's not actually hard even just get a good combo set up and you're golden, the humor isn't really funny and just reeks of LOL SO RANDUMB tryhard nonsense. It has awful controls and pretty bland visuals for the time it was released.
Might get shit for saying this but I cannot get into Hollow Knight because I literally get bored to sleep while playing. The gameplay and exploration is alright but the game is actually big and a lot of the areas are extremely similar with no variation. The enemies are kinda boring, my character looks boring, and oh my god the music is actively TRYING to put me to sleep jesus christ. All I can think about is how as a kid I was fricking glued to the screen while playing SOTN and I went back to replay that game several times and still hooked because it was so exciting and especially the music, this game is literally the opposite. I actually played this game day one and only saw later that people were intensely praising this game nonstop. I went back to it several times but I just couldn't get into it. I also hate how I need an emblem to see where I am on the map, that's literally a basic feature in most games.
I like the game but I don't bust a nut over it like a lot of zoomers seem to. Visually it's very bland and boring, and the world feels needless big a lot of the time. The gameplay being "harder" than SotN isn't enough to make it a more engaging game.
Every "open world survival game with crafting" that my friends keep falling for and I try some of them with them. Valheim. ARK, Forest and other shit, are the exact same game with slightly different mechanics. I don't see how they have such a huge player base.
wtf is going on in this thread? is it opposite day today? I see people listing games I had a lot fun playing it. do you guys not know how to have fun? at least you should be able to know if the game would be fun to you.
Fun is subjective. For example I have a lot of fun playing sports, but watching sports on TV is boring as shit to me.
What games in this thread did you have fun with?
>Borderlands >Dragon's Dogma >Halo >MGSV >Tales of Symphonia >FF14 and FFX >Deep Rock Galactic >Ace Attorney >Armored Core 4 >Doom Eternal >Souls >Outer Wilds >Hollow knight >Ys VIII
these are the games posted ITT which I had fun with. some of these game are niche, you can just stumble upon it blindly. you should have an idea if the game is for or not.
because it's a bait thread meant to trigger morons by saying popular games are dull
notice how no one mention any real obscure game that is really boring, no, they only pick the most popular games that are actually fun to play
these threads should ask what games you didnt like and what games you did like, to have a better view of how moronic people are in this place and avoid cheap baits
>notice how no one mention any real obscure game
You're an idiot for thinking that people would bring up hyper obscure games that almost no one has played in the first place. Plenty of niche games have been mentioned. People list more popular games because more people have played them after hearing good things about them.
The Outer Worlds
Starbound
Minecraft
Marvel's Avengers
Paper Jam
I tried many times to play and beat Paper Jam since I really enjoyed the rest of the series but everytime I realize how dull and unispired the game is and drop it again.
It's a game with literally no limits, you can build whatever you want, there's always things to explore, and tons of content
How can you become bored of it?
I love immersive sims and the later deus ex games, but something about Deus Ex just didn’t click with me. What am I missing? The game just feels kinda basic and boring to me.
Elden Ring really fricking disappointed me with how boring it was. Is that why its so popular? Mass appeal brainlets like it due to how simple and unengaging it is?
It's not bad, it's just so repetitive and dull. What a downgrade from LEGO Star Wars 3 The Clone Wars
And some more games I couldn't get into >Tales of Arise >Just Cause 4 >Ni no Kuni 2 >Xenoblade X >Ori 2 >Dragon Quest 11
>damage sponge enemies >skill trees >pointless open world sections >can't turn off subtitles with mumble mode on
yeah I played this for maybe two hours and dropped it
It’s so fricking bad.
Even with most draconian quest things turned on, it was still fricking shit easy and boring. I like then based rpgs but this piece of shit was so generic and garbage I got sick of it 15 hours in. People told me that was the appeal, that it's the plain white bread of jrpgs and those people can eat shit. It would've been redeemed if it was the least bit DIFFICULT without completely breaking the games natural gameplay loop
>all games coincidentally are critically acclaimed and loved by pretty much everybody >legitimate choices >hehe I tip my fedora to you, fellow contrarian 4chinzers xD
Ganker truly doesn't play videogames. It's just a circlejerk of the mentally ill. A place to trash talk videogames.
Star Ocean 3. Which is a shame because I really had fun with disc 1.
Then disc 2 came I was severely bored. I was so bored so much I blitzed thru the end and apparently my equipment were so shitty I can't defeat the final boss. So I had to grind my characters to lv 80+ and save state my way thru victory just so I can end it.
I can tolerate some level of jank and monotony but goddamn was this one exhausting
I just gave up halfway through and watched the cutscenes online (which I've never really done before, so I guess you could say I was interested in the story at least)
That's not exactly an unpopular opinion
It's a terrible game that happens to have a good, interesting story
>but goddamn was this one exhausting
I'm pretty sure that was intentional, just the music itself is designed to stress you out, the story where everyone just keeps fricking up constantly and in even bigger ways, the repetitive combat etc. I don't blame you for giving up though.
I've always hated random encounters and grindy gameplay. That's why as a kid I always loved Wild Arms 2. The way it lets you control the amount of encounters you get is fantastic. If you're not doing enemies on the field, then you should be doing that.
I was excited to see some upskirts and sexiness but it plays like the clunkiest shit in history. I feel like Im moving a 3D box in unity or some game engine. Its so fricking bad
Warframe. All style, no substance. You play it because everyone tells you how amazing the gameplay and story is, but the combat is half-assed, and the story ranges from memeable to offensively bad.
Yeah, I thought it was a guaranteed finish because of the outfits but nope. The HP sponge enemies make even the most basic combat encounter tedious as frick.
>Tomb Rider 2013.
I never played TR before so I had no intentions to be dissapointed due to some "biase"
I finished this game but I have no idea what people find in it. It's absolutely mediocore in every sinhe aspect. Plot and characters are bland boring, locations are dull or straight up ugly. Climbing and acrobatics are close to non-existant - game does everything for you. Combat is okayish and crafting and resourse gathering feels like unnecessary time padding. How the hell did this game recieve so much praise is beyond my understanding.
I played it for like 30 hours because a friend of mine is obsessed with it. It's trash, and anyone who says "it gets good after 300 hours" can kill themselves.
Spent most of the afternoon yesterday playing Road 96. Kinda glad these "highly acclaimed" art games are on Gamepass, because even though it's the crux of this very game, I am not interested in revisiting it. I think I'm still a journey or two out from the ending, but I'm really not interested in seeing where it goes.
Played all the way through Unpacking recently, which similarly let to the "grand revelation" that the main character finds out that she is gay in the most boring and pedestrian way.
Assassin's Creed Revelations, I only remember the Altaïr bits because they were the most memorable, the rest of the game was a completely forgetable snoozefest.
I don't think any Uncharted game is that great (haven't played 4 and have no desire to do so), but 2 is a massive step up from 1. 2 is the best in the entire series and 1 is the worst in the series, in fact I'd go so far as to call 1 a bad game. If you don't like 1 then just drop it and skip to 2.
>just 6 more hours and it’ll be dawn >2 more and it’s rush hour >that is when the splattening will begin >the world will know the pain of the Ghastly Gallagher
Mary Jane sections where awful and felt like were there to check boxes with the woke people, i went in thinking that the gameplay would be a more faster Batman- Arkham style but it was somehow slower. and the story was only ok. only thing remarkable was the webslinging
Oh, and Skyward Sword. I got about 3/5th through the game and just stopped. I felt like I was only playing it to play it (if that makes sense). It had some fun parts, but nothing compared to other LoZ games.
Project X Zone is the exact same fricking game for the entire game. Once you get your fill of the juggle combat in the first three hours, you've seen it all and still have another 57 to go.
Doesn't help that I don't know the majority of characters
Speaking of this kind of game, CrossEdge.
Its got a similar combo system except its probably the single best take on this combat system I've played, a massive cast, a lot of content, it should by all rights be by far the best game its shitty devs have ever made.
But the MC is such an irredeemable piece of shit for no fricking reason, consistently being rude to or threatening or attempting to kill all characters he meets (except 2), he singlehandedly drags the entire game down.
I don't know what the frick they were thinking. He's such a massive prick.
I was EXTREMELY bored during the summer sale and a thread came up about it on here, I passed on the game at the time of release because I thought it was going to be an SJW game based on the marketing, but I asked in the thread if the game was actually any good and people said it was
either they were lying or they have the lowest standards ever, because holy shit that is the definition of a soulless game:
there wasn't a single likable character, the MC is generic as hell and comes off like a piece of cardboard, your "childhood female friend tomboy mechanic" is BARELY in the game (and she's not amazing anyway, just "ok"), all the project dagger leaders are just grumpy dicks, and honestly that's 90% of the cast summed up right there, with the only remaining characters being antagonists who are either so evil that it comes across as parody or that specific brand of "incompetent evil" where a minor villain is just a fat coward with money or something
the guns are very hit and miss, the assault rifle just feels weak even after upgrading it, the revolver is surprisingly weak and is meant to be offset by it's secondary fire (when activated, any enemies hit by your bullets set on fire), the plasma gun expy is ok but the overheating is a frustrating mechanic, the only guns I actually like to use were the rocket launcher and shotgun, and so the other guns barely got used after trying them out with their upgrades
speaking of upgrades: they suck, they are incredibly formulaic and boring, things like a choice between "increase magazine capacity" or "faster reload", I've played enough FPS games to know those are basically the same effect, which is "less downtime from shooting"
the driving is worse than RAGE 1, how the frick did they do that? especially with Avalanche studios handling the driving, Mad Max felt great, but the cars in this suck so much (and there's no fast travel)
running out of space, but those are the main things, 6/10 game AT BEST
This game immediately lost me when 5 seconds in the protag you don't pick gets killed and your character doesn't react at all unless you manually walk over and look at the corpse.
Followed by repeatedly going >X is such a badass, Y is so evil, but he's strong, so you should be a badass to beat him, like X. She's such a badass. Ohn o she died. Well she's such a bad ass she had a backup plan: You. You should be badass. Go be badass, you badass.
I don't care if its SJW or whatever; your mom could be your dad and it'd be just as weird to hear so many people jerk him off and tell you to basically go be him 5 mins into a game when my character such a sociopath he didn't give a single frick when a guy died next to him
Fable the Lost Chapters is really the only game of his I liked. I even tried Black & White upon the recommendation from several friends and wasn't impressed.
>fell for the V Rising meme
at some point you take a step back and think about how little fun you're having waiting for timers to run down and never go back to it
A ton of games.
But a game I had high expectations for and ended up boring the shit out of me was FF14. I played for 60+ hours, waiting for the "good part" that never came. I beat ARR, played a little bit of Heavensward, "wow it's the same fricking game", and quit.
But I'll also give you a game that I thought would be boring, but I ended up liking a lot: Yakuza 0.
Witcher 3 unironically.
For some reasons, I can't just stand it, and I can easily tolerate older games like Fallout 1 and Vanilla Morrowind.
I have given two tries, but I hope third time is the charm in the future.
RDR2 probably one of the worst, dullest, boring game this generation, everything about it is either boring or just straight up shit compared to even other open world games. Whoever thought it would be a fun idea to designe this game to be shitty like that with idiotic controls that feel like you are running through mud with half a second delay on everything should be fired and never find work in the entire industry again, pure fricking poison.
Valheim was very strongly recommended by my friends and Steam, but I had to refund it because it was so disappointing
Dead By Daylight
This too.
I bought the game when I was druk and left it open overnight so I couldn't refund.
I regret it ever since.
Valheim would probably be fun if you didn't have to grind resources for 50 hours.
how the FRICK did people convince themselves that clicking over and over and over and over and over and over and over again and then carting back all that FRICKING ore because "lol letting u teleport it would trivialize the progression" was actually fun?
was it brain damage?
nta but everyone was shilling Valheim EXTREMELY hard when it dropped.
Funny thing is you can teleport
since your character is independent of the world you can swap worlds to use 1 world as a holding point for resources
I did this always, I didn't mind the grinding for materials but its just moronic to not be able to teleport as majority of the games content already was gathering resources.
The fun is organising an optimal path for it. It gave me minor Death Stranding vibes and was easily my favourite part of the game
arcade controls make for no challenge
I liked it on co-op. It was really comfy and the OST was great, still listen to it regularly. Wouldn't play through again, tho.
>install valheim
>play for a bit, think to myself "fun game, i'll wait until we get a bit more content so i don't burn myself out"
>still waiting
>mfw all the zoomers putting 800 hours into these games during the first month and then going "well i got my money's worth, devs could frick of to the caribbean with their cash and i wouldn't care" before dropping it for the next FOTM
>Stardew Valley
>Animal Crossing
I don't get the appeal of these harvest crafting games and I tried pretty hard to.
Stardew is a dating sim though.
Truth
You're not supposed to try hard. You just sit back and relax. If they're boring and you're not comfy you move on.
>stardew is a relaxing game
I hate this meme, it’s a time management game that’s incredibly stressful
There's no time to manage, there's literally no time limit for anything
>I don't get it, why can't I seem to enjoy Stardew Valley/Animal Crossing, guys?
Let me ask you something: are you a woman? No? There's your answer.
Play one that has cute girls instead
Modded stardew it is.
>harvest crafting
Black person animal crossing was only turned into that in the 5th entry, play the fricking good ones like City Folk and New Leaf.
>New Leaf
>good
what the frick have you been smoking you fricking homosexual Black person SON
New Leaf is objectively good
it looks like garbage, everything looks like it's made of plastic and progression takes forever
Soulclones
>People liked it but I didnt like it - how could this be happening to me?
People shouldn't have bad taste.
This
Imagine how much better it would be if obsidian had more time.
Now imagine a place that picked up the pieces and continued what was cut from the game
That's what mods are for. Seriously alot of the emptiness of new Vegas is because of how lil time obsidian had
>cinematic masterpiece
>for gaming
Sounds Iike you already nailed down why it's boring as shit
Yeah I loved uncharted 2 and was absolutely bored through uncharted4, i don’t know what kinda crack was everyone smoking when they wrote the reviews
For some reason, i found this more fun than the first 3 Uncharted games.
This game had great gunplay but most of the time there wasn't enough gameplay
>So bored he plays the game with a pillow on his head
kek
Yeah, I remember being impressed by the trailers, thinking they'd make another Uncharted 2 after the disappointment of 3. But 4 wasn't much better. Great combat, though.
Fallout New Vegas bored the frick out of me on my first playthrough until I got to New Vegas. Then my interest peaked when I made it back to Ranger Station Charlie seeing it pillaged by the Legion. Then after a good 140 hours and doing literally every humanly possible in the game it bored the frick out of me again because I've done every worthy playthrough that isn't an autistic lvl 1 challenge run.
life
Outcast, every version of it
Dragon's Bullshit: Diarrhearisen
all the Soulsshit gayms
I hated dragons dogma when I first played it coming back to it on pc though felt completely different
GreedFall. It's the only game I can recall in the past 5+ years that I quit because I just wasn't having any fun nor was I even remotely interested in the story.
Came here to post this
Greedfall was literally one of the most boring games I ever played. Like a worse Dragon Age 2.
Same, I have tried in 2 different occasions but the gameplay sucks
It looked interesting but holy mother is it lame and slow
I quit after a couple hours
I managed to complete this and wish I didn't. The only good part is unironically the prologue. Once you arrive in the New world it becomes a boring slog where you spend 90% of your time running
Borderlands
I tried. I tried 1, I tried 2, I tried tales from, the only one thar moderately kept my attention was presequel
Thought I'd dabble in a few shooty duty FPS games as a teen, since my friends were into them. Never again.
>redditbob
go back
>chudow the nignog
it was a slog. The writing and dialogue were just so shitty, i completely stopped caring about the story and the characters.
This but with 1
>Wow this dialogue and walls of text suck, I want to get back to the combat
>Wow this combat sucks, I want to get back to the combat
I got tired of playing soulsshit but at least Code Vein has some nice anime breasts in it
Dragon Quest XI
Halo CE
Dragon's Dogma
MGSV
Holy shit fricking awful taste. Halo does suck tho ngl
zzzzzzzzzzzz
doom 2016 and eternal i just can't get into it
Pic related.
Plus, it’s developed as a lives service game with “unlimited” randomly-spawning quests
>it’s developed as a lives service game
The frick it isn't.
Shooting is least fun thing in control. Flying and throwing 3 boulders at enemies is where fun is.
I really tried to like Pathologic, but you can only walk back and forth for so long before you lose your mind.
lisa the painful, bioshock, borderlands 3
>lisa had a good story but the gameplay was just so bland and repetitive
>bioshock had the same problem but the story wasn't as good for me. The world was nice to look at though
>borderlands 3 was just flat out bad, the writing was awful and everything was a bullet sponge, I only played it because my friend always wanted to play it.
Meanwhile I've played through 1 and 2 at least three times, finished presequel twice, and finished Tales all while having a good time (Except the playthrough I had as Athena since my first one was with Claptrap)
>kick the head writer who mad borderlands characters so soulful and also introduced handsome jack
>game becomes shit
many such cases
note: tbh I dont know if they kicked him or he him self just didnt want to continue, either way it was a loss
Borderlands 3 made me question if I really liked Borderlands or if I just liked Handsome Jack. Replaying 2 was rough because a lot of the humor did not age well except for the Jack parts.
BL2's humor was considered trash when it came out so I don't imagine it aging well at all.
Considering they had to drag Jack out for the pre-sequel and tales from the borderland, AND they marketed the package as the handsome bundle shows that Jack was carrying those games on some level.
Athena is a pretty fricking boring character in pre sequel
>no Aunt Cass to game with
>not big titty version
come on man
I just grabbed whatever was in Google Images
I've corrected my mistake
People who like the edited version don't understand what made Cass attractive in the first place.
Frick off.

post the real one wtf
Kirby and the Forgotten Land after getting all 300 Waddle Dees and Soul Pieces.
Getting 100% feels like more of an ordeal than it should be.
100% a kirby game sounds like such a slog
Yeah, because after all that? My file is 95%.
I've traded with the Waddle Dee, I challenged all the colloseums, I've beaten the tilt game and caught the really big fish, expanded the concert and played all the ability challenge trials
Now I'm just farming coins and rare stones to get all my abilities to Star level and I just want it to end.
If you aren't enjoying yourself why bother 100%ing the game? I never understood the completion autism that forces people to suffer through mindless gameplay just so they can see that 100%.
I have completed several games to 100% but only if it was enjoyable to do so. Mario 64? Yes. Sunshine? No.
Tomb Raider 2013
Kirby 64
Tales of Symphonia
>Kirby 64
You fricking take that back
game's braindead sorry
Yes its literally a game for children
Dont tell me you played it when you were on your 20s, zoom zoom.
>the game's shit because it's made for children
>but don't call it shit tho
>Kirby 64
How? It takes like 4 hours to beat max.
The first assassin's creed. I finished it, but only because I had already bought Ass Creed 2 and I wanted to play through the whole story. Luckily Ass Creed 2 and its sequels were miles better.
tbh ass creed 1 and 2 were plain but 3 was a fricking pain to play
I'm grading on a curve here. Ass Creed 2 is top action exploring game when compared to the nothing that Ass Creed 1 was.
Never played Ass Creed 3 because the steam version had some shit happen to it and it never came back and I didn't bother to continue playing through the franchise.
Yakuza 3
Horizon ZD

Yakuza 3 sucked but the ending was one of the best
As someone who played all the yakuza games, I actually liked 3, and it has a lot more soul than I originally thought. Not the best game, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it
also FRICK kiwami 2, FRICK dragon engine combat, and FRICK jingweon mafia plot bullshit
Tokyo Xanadu. Ended up dropping the game because I kept falling asleep.
is this a veiled shota thread?
Dishonored 2. I got bored in the first 20 seconds of the first cutscene and never looked back.
>Final Fantasy 12, 13, 15
>Far Cry 2, 3, 4
>Dead By Daylight
>Yakuza Like a Dragon
>Paper Mario Origami King
>Super Mario Odyssey
>Horizon Zero Dawn
>Saints Row 2, 3, 4
>Red Faction
>Halo Reach Campaign and Multi
There were too fricking few of the memory gimmick scenes to begin with, this really didn't need to be a half-assed brawler.
>tfw never had an older brother to teach me how to kiss and love a girl
I've fallen asleep in the middle of playing Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies, as well as Pokémon Ultra Sun.
unironically
same cant get past battery park
I really want to like it, but I wish I had played it when it came out.
Filtered and stay out
The biggest mistake people make is trying to treat it like a stealth game since the opening dialogue makes you think you should be non-lethal/stealth.
The stealth sucks. It's crouch-waddle bullshit. Only exists to make you appreciate Thief more. Gun everyone down and it's still a pretty well paced affair.
>guy running armoury gets upset when I run&gun
>do it more purely out of spite and the fact I have atleast 6 grenades on me at all times
Admittedly I always thought that was funny first option;

I was about to say Horizon Zero Down but I remember feeling cringe more than anything so Idk if that's boring per se.
Spiritfarer bored the shit out of me. I asked for a refund on Steam.
FFXV.
Empty open world
Plot was off screen
Combat was one button shit
Prey (2017)
*also survival crafters and farming/living sims, so boring I almost forget to even consider them as videogames.
>20 hours in
>level 36
>No challenging combat yet
>Story has been bad and delivered poorly
I'm assuming I need to play another 60 or 70 hours before it gets good?
Unironically FFXIV story gets good at the end of A Realm Reborn and gets better with each expansion (mostly)
And then shits the bed in endwalker with massive retcons and a horrible overall story.
>MMO fantasygays would play
>generic dude on cover
>Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning
I kind of dug the combat at first but then it just gets super boring.
Ni no Kuni, it was extremely fricking bad.
>Someone with this much artistic talent draws this shit
>NOOOO YOU HAVE TO DRAW WHAT I TELL YOU TO DRAW!!!
For some reason, doom eternal bored me so much I redoenloaded doom 2016 to see what was better
Needless to say I finished 2016 again and didn’t touch eternal, trying to convince myself to go back to it

Grabbed it because Vesperiagays shilled it for years. Not completely terrible, but it was fricking boring and it was the only Tales I was never able to finish.
This, but it applies to all Tales aside from Symphonia which is one of my favorite games ever. I wanted to like that franchise so bad.
I got Resident Evil 6 and unistalled it within 2 hours. Had to frick with steam to get the button prompts to work. First 1 hour of the game is literally just walking around and doing QTEs.

What
Thats a character from a movie you homosexual
so what it fits the topic you jackass
he isn't bored you lying gayfor. It's off-topic because it's not video games. have a nice day harder next time
Not every picture has to be relevant to video games as long as the topic itself is you fricking autistic moron.
Why would you complain about this but not stock photo reaction pics, gigachad, redditfrog or anime?
Because those aren't op posts.
you've never seen op posts with those images, you must be new
e.g. gigachad with >anti aliasing = off
Take the pine cone out of your ass anon. It's not healthy being an angry contrarion all the time
Keep projecting homosexual.
>whataboutism
stupid ass.
It's not whataboutism, I'm just telling you that "off topic images" have been a thing on this board since its inception, and it's no problem as long as the thread itself is about video games, which this is.
>"Projecting"
And your still proving my point right with that post. Look anon I'll do ya a solid and leave u alone. Just don't post another typical contrarion response ok?

Very hands off mechanically and the event system means that not of the setpieces have any real build up or tangible consequence.
And my most controversial one:
>Darkest Dungeon
Feels like a mobile game. I didn't even keep with it long enough to get to the infamous endgame grind.
Dusk made me realize that I do not enjoy boomer shooters
BotW and I'm a big Zelda fan. The start was pretty good, but the rest was brutal and the end was like rubbing shit in a wound.
>and I'm a big Zelda fan
No you're not. You're a big OoT fan.
You're a big homosexual.
For you.
No one's a bigger homosexual than a redditor treating (you)s like a commodity.
(You)
BotW is Zelda for people who don't actually like Zelda so that makes sense. Great Plateau feels good because that part ACTUALLY feels like Zelda 1 dragged into 2017, and then the rest of the game happens.
I played every 3d zelda game except SS, and Botw was amazing. Stop being a gatekeeping homosexual
BotW is for people who like 2D Zeldas and don't think the series should be OoT clones.
Any Pokefricker game, I find it hard to believe these games have that big of an audience that doesn’t just ogle the female characters
Dark Souls 1
Its so empty, challenge alone doesnt hold up a game also its very easy, only early on its hard if you fight everything without cheesing it with backstabs because the spear Hollows lol.
What a stupid game, the worst souls game.
Resident Evil 5. Friends or no friends, my least favorite part of Resident Evil is the shooting and guess what you spend 98% of your time doing in 5?

I'd rather play a bad game than a boring one, at least the bad one makes me feel something.
I'd be curious to hear what your definition of a bad game is, anon.
>(You)
take it
>Vanilla fallout 4
I seriously don't get why or how normies ate this shit up. It's just slightly polished fallout 3 with Minecraft mechanics
>Bullet spread and damage
>firefights a chore
Yeah I forget how dogshit f3 combat was until I played recently after 12 years. 13 year old me Must had so much time and shit taste to complete the game twice on PS3 of all things. F4 may have been a ok looter shooter but the "rpg" systems are so broken and the world so half baked it sucks my will to play it
>Solid fine
Yeah that's my opinion on it too....after I dump 244 mods on it first. Even then I find myself bored from the shootin n lootin cuz the quests, the big thing driving my adventure, are so ass and every npc is just a cardboard cutout giving me fricking fetch quests until the end of time. To this day I still haven't played f4 dlcs because of this even tho I bought them
who cares nobody replies anyway
Ganker is so boring nowadays s m h
Far Cry (the series) is ungodly amounts of boring for me.
I think I tried to play Until Dawn for an hour, maybe two and I just couldn't go on. The gameplay was boring and I liked none of the characters.
Decided to replay AC 1
It's kinda cool but shit because there's so much talking and no way to skip
all you do is go from point a to b and kill a guy
thinking about dropping it
Honestly drop it anon. Current ac certainly has
Monster Hunter Rise.
Red Dead Redemption 2.
cant even play rpgs or games with lots of dialog and cutscenes anymore
just shut the frick up and get to the game part
Hardspace: Shipbreaker and VA11 Hall-A.
>The gameplay felt like a bad MMO
stopped reading there
Good, people that praise this game don’t deserve to read my posts.
Anon, he's talking shit about you because you did a very bad job of describing Automata's gameplay, which is more like toothless Bayonetta with babby's first bullet hell stapled on instead of "a bad MMO".
Bayonetta is shit and Kamiya is a hack. Automata had combat that was just decent, but it's still better than Bayonetta.
Anime gays have a different standard than normal people.
Yeah, a lower one
>no argument
what do you mean no argument, there are op posts with those images
>Then I hear that you have to beat that shit like 5 times to get the “real” ending?
Getting Ending E is properly beating the game once. You don't replay the opening hours 5 times in a row.
Oh gotcha. I made it to some carnival part (I think) and couldn’t do it anymore.
>The music was fricking boring and incredibly underrated.
Are you a literal moron, anon? Quick: How many extra chromosomes do you have?
Finally someone says it
>Empty open world.
>Bland gameplay ESPECIALLY for a Platnium game..
>Stumbling serves no purpose other than to annoy the player
>26 endings is BULLSHIT. It's one story with 5 endings and 21 pointless fade to black screens.
>Really bland anime-trope writing.
>Mostly boring characters
>Uninspired sidequests
>Makes you replay the entire first act twice for the sake of "plot" but it adds extremely little and most of it doesn't connect to the main plot at all.
>Predictable as hell twists
>Story that introduces deep concepts but doesn't explore them in any way whatsoever
>Best parts of the story are in JAPAN ONLY books and FRICKING THEATER SHOWS
The list goes on. Absolute piece of shit.
Am I missing something to this game's combat? It seems like I literally just spam buttons randomly and that's it
Are there combos I'm missing or something?
troony posts
Holy shit great counter arguments, really convinced me I'm wrong.
Go back to your anime convention so you can find a new pillow to frick.
Skyrim
>The gameplay felt like a bad MMO
Thank frick u don't make a living out of criticism. Your shit lying opinion is so bad it would get u killed
Hyper Shitunia games. I cried from how hard that game was making me yawn.
The Stanley Parable. It's barely justified as a game.
its a pretentious meta "game" that appeals to r*dditors of course its not a game
The original twewy, I have no clue how people find the gameplay engaging. And I played it back then when I was first starting getting into anime so I was all holy shit an anime game for DS??
TWEWY's gameplay takes a couple hours to really click. Once you can manage the rhythm between two screens it takes off from there.
I also played and beat it and thought it was terrible. The fans make it seem like a cult classic masterpiece, but I quickly learned it's just a bunch of loud homosexuals with shit taste who spam the same reaction images when someone points out the game sucks.
You sound quite filtered, anon.
Doom Eternal
like a week ago I started playing astral chain, it was really boring and disappointing, the story was a cliche and very easy to predict, like halfway the game it became tedious and the quests were stupid, find cats, find toilet paper, walk over there, things feel empty and areas too small, monsters never re-spawn and you can only fight them once, the background music was "European farm/driving" simulator tier. I have never been so disappointed of a game I waited so long to play,
I played it recently and was really impressed by it. Really, really is progression though, it makes the start of the game in particular really dry
Doom 3
I'd play fear or riddick any day over it if I wanted an fps with a light gimmick from that era. I'd play Quake 4 if I wanted a meh FPS, at least that one is fun at times.
Made for breeding
Wadanohara was so boring to me that I was falling asleep to it while playing
>So many skills to specialize but u improve clusters of them until 50
>Perks are just generic boosts with no requirements
>Stupid companion ai. Got to constantly tell them to kill enemy biting Thier ass
>homosexual looking characters everywhere
>Story about corporations taking over but hire the most incompetent people overhead and generally frick up their systems constantly because....profit?
>Space Western but sanitized and consumable for ur average redditor.
>Hell the reddit tier humor (like in the item and enemy descriptions) makes me roll my eyes
>ONLY 3 AMMO TYPES
>Quests generally are just fetch quests. Rarely find a quest that lets u think or even do in one town area
And I could ramble more. Shit like this adds up to a boring experience. No wonder people forgot about this game a week after release. Not even the dlcs brought them back
Animal Crossing New Leaf, shit is just a chores simulator.
Borderlands 3
although I played bl2 about 6times but 3 sucked big times, not only the story&characters but everything else is awful too

Beyond was boring as hell too
I liked it. Of course it's a Sony movie game but the graphics and atmosphere are nice (especially for the time) and I liked the characters. I also think the gameplay is not bad. The impact and the violence of hitting and shooting is visceral. But yeah, it's no masterpiece. I much prefer other similar games like The Walking Dead Season 1 and Lisa: The Painful.
>huge metroidvaniagay
>hear hollow knight is the secondcoming of christ for the genre from Ganker
>play it
>get bored within 2 hours because the visuals, level design and player character's movesert are uninspired
>stop listening to what gays on Ganker say is good
the visuals and level design are good
it's the combat that's dogshit
"cute creatures in dark ugly world" isn't good visual design, it's shallow, worn out trite
you should definitely care more about the raw gameplay in a metroidvania IMO
I thought the core upgrades were uninspired and the many optional loadout upgrades were not very impactful. I hate it when a game tries to be darksouls
Many of the charms literally change the tide of battles when you equip them. It's a huge pain in the ass to fight a boss without any charm. You're just lying
The upgrades being "generic" is a non issue. It's le platformer metroidvania. There's only so many original movememt upgrades you can put into such a game. The upgrades work well
>ugly world
???
The game has pretty environments everywhere. It's meant to be an underground bug kingdom lol. The characters don't clash at all. Did we even play the same game?
finally someone said it !
the wired thing is that its not only Ganker who shill it but everyone else too.. normies included
what a wired phenomena, a glitch in the gaming industry
>wired
This is probably bait but
>everyone else is the problem!1!1 Not me!
moron
Yeah I felt like the environments were very samey, copy paste enemies everywhere and most bosses only had like 3 different attacks.

It takes like two minutes to kill the first rat you see in the game, I was out immediately
whats the deal with metroidvanias
just a bunch of locked doors
oh no you cant go this way yet come back later
over and over
who cares
i like shantae though she cute
I almost 100%ed it but i understand you. People who praise it forget that 70% of your playtime is spent on backtracking and other chores.
The first 10 hours were good. But there should have been a means to fast travel beyond benches.
FFX is just boring and I don't get the love
you guys make me sad
I would legit rather watch a movie of FFX because the aesthetics and music are so good but the combat is fricking sleep inducing. I really did give it a fair shake.
gays like the melodramatic story.
Because it's got fun gameplay.
BOTW and yet I played it for 100 hours, I really don't understand why I did that
same, I didn't even finish it.
I played it for 60 hours and semi-rushed to the finish, and even then I soft dropped it for 6 months somewhere in the middle.
The base game is such a bore to get through. Scrapping the game mid developing and redoing it in less then 2 years will do that I guess
Final Fantasy X
dying light.
was expecting a zombie game with fun gamplay
based on everyone recommends.
>if you liked dead island you gonna love dying light even more !
turns out it was a parkour game with mexican movie filter
Pokemon sun, I can play all the others almost non stop till the end, took me a year for sun
even swsh? i found that game to be way more boring then sun and the bar's already high.
Hiro feet
Persona 5, which is a shame because I enjoyed 4 a lot.
The script really needed editing. Way too much exposition got repeated.
Mirror edge
>Boring story
>Boring main cast
>Boring villains
How such a boring game got to have the best battle Ive had in an smt game ever(duel with that dude with the glasses) is baffling to me. Sadly, neither he or Nemissa could save the game.
>play as a gay alien and walk around reading text about dead gay aliens
and there's a reason every single image of this game covers up the aliens by having them wearing a space suit. Because aliens are so fricking dumb looking that nobody would buy this game if you saw what they actually looked like beforehand.
rise/sunbreak
>WHY WOULD ANYONE WITH A FUNCTIONAL BRAIN THINK THAT THIS GAME IS WORTH RECOMMENDING ??
Unironically the same people who recommend Gone Home.
Gone Home at least had a solid story with a beginning and an end. I wouldn't pay money for it, but it's not bad in any way.
Firewatch sets up to be something way bigger than it is and then just shits the bed and ruins it completely by the third act.
I want to like it, I really do. The gameplay is great but the story is so fricking booooriiiiing
How far in are you? Because I felt the same way until about chapter 3 I think, that's when I fell in love with it.
I wouldn't call it bad but after Seven and Celceta I'm just burned out on this formula. Really hoping X is a serious shakeup.
Absolute chore of a game, only thing it left me was with a desire to genocide Toads
Every game. When will devs learn to make a game that can entertain me?
Only game I didn't finish in recent memory was the Crew 2.
The game was so painfully dull because you are literally locked into ez mode for all the events and you unlock "harder" difficulties by winning the same event over and over agin...
Fallout New Vegas was such a disappointment to someone that never played any of the games.
>dude this game is one of the best games ever! you gotta try it!
>opening is strong, the shootout with the powder gangers was fun
>afterwards you spend the next hour or so walking (without a sprint input) a boring desert from location x to location y, radio numbed that
>game also hikes up the difficulty on like the 3rd main quest so the guns you have and got from stores are now fricking worthless because the enemy's defense is too high and your bullets don't do shit
>stores don't sell enough AP early game to have a consistent amount
Maybe I just have shit taste, got filtered, and these kind of games aren't for me. But if this is one of "the best" then I wonder how mind numbing the others are.
Alan Wake
I can't believe people actually like it
I can't believe it's getting a sequel
I guess it's the same reason morons eat up Stephen King's absolute garbage, but in video game form
This piece of shit
>squat in a bush for 20 minutes listening to every sound carefully
>get headshotted by a homosexual doing the exact same thing 15 meters away from me
I've got 2.1 hours played and can't even fricking refund anymore
Dont forget incompetent devs
>Cant make a single patch without some huge bug "sneaking" in
>"P-Please giv us money :(("
>All the money goes for the next farcry anyway
God I regret wasting my time with this shit. I miss the old times shortly after it left EA
Sniper Elite 4
I should have learned my lesson not to trust Rebellion to make anything good ever
EVER SINCE SNIPER ELITE 2 ALWAYS THE SAME GAME, OVER AND OVER
THEY'LL NEVER CHANGE, THEY'LL NEVER CHANGE
AND THEY GET TO MAKE THE TOP SELLERS ON STEAM? WHAT A SICK JOKE
Disco Elyisium, BOTW, Hitman.
Honorable mention to Underrail which took me like 20h of misery before I somehow began to enjoy it.
I've played DE, BotW and Underrail all multiple times. All your post does is tell me that I really need to hurry up and get to Hitman.
I love the graphics and music, plus the concept seems like my type of game yet im just not feeling it.
what weapon have you been using? I remember my first time playing monster hunter it was pain incarnate until I found a weapon that clicked with me.
Yeah i'll give it another shot once I clear my backlog. Thanks anon.
Try long sword
Earthbound
Horizon Zero Dawn
Dropped that shit when I hit the desert zone and the stupid b***h died from jumping off a one story high rock because it wasn't the "correct" way to get down
Witcher 3
I need someone to post some lewd Gogo now. I need to beat my stuff on a video game board please and thank you
Uncharted 1. I fell asleep after only having played an hour. A coworker keeps telling me to try playing again, and I've tried 3 more times, but each time I get so bored that I just drop it.
>he listens to his coworker's opinions on video games
your own fault
Shovel Knight
Ganker recommended me the franchsie when that Gold Knight card game dropped, but the first game just feels way too clunky control-wise.
Different people have different tastes.
Fun is subjective. For example I have a lot of fun playing sports, but watching sports on TV is boring as shit to me.
What games in this thread did you have fun with?
>Borderlands
>Dragon's Dogma
>Halo
>MGSV
>Tales of Symphonia
>FF14 and FFX
>Deep Rock Galactic
>Ace Attorney
>Armored Core 4
>Doom Eternal
>Souls
>Outer Wilds
>Hollow knight
>Ys VIII
these are the games posted ITT which I had fun with. some of these game are niche, you can just stumble upon it blindly. you should have an idea if the game is for or not.
might as well stop playing vidya
When isn't it opposite day on Ganker? This board is a contrarian shithole, everyone knows that.
because it's a bait thread meant to trigger morons by saying popular games are dull
notice how no one mention any real obscure game that is really boring, no, they only pick the most popular games that are actually fun to play
these threads should ask what games you didnt like and what games you did like, to have a better view of how moronic people are in this place and avoid cheap baits
>notice how no one mention any real obscure game
You're an idiot for thinking that people would bring up hyper obscure games that almost no one has played in the first place. Plenty of niche games have been mentioned. People list more popular games because more people have played them after hearing good things about them.
Looks like you’re the moron that got triggered here, anon.
The Outer Worlds
Starbound
Minecraft
Marvel's Avengers
Paper Jam
I tried many times to play and beat Paper Jam since I really enjoyed the rest of the series but everytime I realize how dull and unispired the game is and drop it again.
>Minecraft
You are an actual NPC
Explain
It's a game with literally no limits, you can build whatever you want, there's always things to explore, and tons of content
How can you become bored of it?
Say what you will but paper jam had by far the best bosses of any M&L game. They were fantastic. The rest of the game was indeed basic and boring.
Doom 2016
Fallout 4
FF 14
sunless skies.
I enjoy the hours on end of reading
along the line it get repetitive when you need to move from x-y after exploring the entire map.
ff14
european games
witcher
deus ex
mount and blade
eye
styx shards of darkness
thief
stalker
metro
etc
I love immersive sims and the later deus ex games, but something about Deus Ex just didn’t click with me. What am I missing? The game just feels kinda basic and boring to me.
Elden Ring really fricking disappointed me with how boring it was. Is that why its so popular? Mass appeal brainlets like it due to how simple and unengaging it is?
Outer wilds
Elden Ring
DA Inquisition
POP: Warrior Within
GTA V
Nu-Hitman
Nu-God of War
FFXV
everything about this says it should be cool and fun but its incredibly simplistic
sea of thieves
Dead Rising 4
Awful game, I don't think there are redeaming qualities at all. It took away all that made DR good and wasn't even fun at all
It's not bad, it's just so repetitive and dull. What a downgrade from LEGO Star Wars 3 The Clone Wars
And some more games I couldn't get into
>Tales of Arise
>Just Cause 4
>Ni no Kuni 2
>Xenoblade X
>Ori 2
>Dragon Quest 11
>damage sponge enemies
>skill trees
>pointless open world sections
>can't turn off subtitles with mumble mode on
yeah I played this for maybe two hours and dropped it
>gameplay
>mmo
what
DQ11
Even with most draconian quest things turned on, it was still fricking shit easy and boring. I like then based rpgs but this piece of shit was so generic and garbage I got sick of it 15 hours in. People told me that was the appeal, that it's the plain white bread of jrpgs and those people can eat shit. It would've been redeemed if it was the least bit DIFFICULT without completely breaking the games natural gameplay loop
ok zoomer
I'd find videogames boring too if I lived with Aunt Cass. I couldn't pretend to be interested in them when I'd rather be impregnating her.
>all games coincidentally are critically acclaimed and loved by pretty much everybody
>legitimate choices
>hehe I tip my fedora to you, fellow contrarian 4chinzers xD
Ganker truly doesn't play videogames. It's just a circlejerk of the mentally ill. A place to trash talk videogames.
>critically acclaimed
journalists are not the people you should listen to for opinions on game quality
>like loved by everyone
ie you?
Which game got you butthurt?
Star Ocean 3. Which is a shame because I really had fun with disc 1.
Then disc 2 came I was severely bored. I was so bored so much I blitzed thru the end and apparently my equipment were so shitty I can't defeat the final boss. So I had to grind my characters to lv 80+ and save state my way thru victory just so I can end it.
the witcher and ass creed origins
something about these games
MMOs and Open World games. Nothing like a bunch of busy work and no story, characters, or gameplay.
Devil May Cry 5
Hades
Couldn't even finish it
Classic JRPGs bore the hell out of me now, which is weird since I used to like em a lot. I miss having so much time to waste
I've always hated random encounters and grindy gameplay. That's why as a kid I always loved Wild Arms 2. The way it lets you control the amount of encounters you get is fantastic. If you're not doing enemies on the field, then you should be doing that.
Every Suda game but this one especially.
I was excited to see some upskirts and sexiness but it plays like the clunkiest shit in history. I feel like Im moving a 3D box in unity or some game engine. Its so fricking bad
I hate how weak the chansaw feels, i expected to be mowing down zombies.
I like the doujin where this kid gets fricked by his brother
All of them.
They're just a time killer for me.
Warframe. All style, no substance. You play it because everyone tells you how amazing the gameplay and story is, but the combat is half-assed, and the story ranges from memeable to offensively bad.
Fricking sucked
I very rarely drop games but this got dropped
Hell I thought I was the only one. I couldn't even stick around for the coombait.
Yeah, I thought it was a guaranteed finish because of the outfits but nope. The HP sponge enemies make even the most basic combat encounter tedious as frick.
Elden Ring
Nier Automata
90% of all sony exclusives
BOTW
OoT
>Tomb Rider 2013.
I never played TR before so I had no intentions to be dissapointed due to some "biase"
I finished this game but I have no idea what people find in it. It's absolutely mediocore in every sinhe aspect. Plot and characters are bland boring, locations are dull or straight up ugly. Climbing and acrobatics are close to non-existant - game does everything for you. Combat is okayish and crafting and resourse gathering feels like unnecessary time padding. How the hell did this game recieve so much praise is beyond my understanding.
I thought the bow weapon was pretty well done. Only thing that kept me going was playing the game with only it.
Blazblue: Spent more time looking for people to play with than playing. "Go to discord", they said. So I had to make one. Last EU post: 2 months ago.
FFXIV. Every time cutscene started playing I just got up and left the room to do something more interesting, such as washing dishes.
Pretty much every game and i don't know why anymore. Other than I have serve depression maybe. Entertainment media is all boring now.
Your favorite game.
The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild
This but the opposite and it was the only 3D Zelda that wasn't boring.
Assassin's Creed Revelations, I only remember the Altaïr bits because they were the most memorable, the rest of the game was a completely forgetable snoozefest.
asscreed valhalla
never been so bored
I think I managed to get a whole hour into TLoU1
People tell me Uncharted 2 is better than 1 but after playing 1 I'm struggling to find the motivation to ever play another game in this series again.
Solo Minecraft. It's not even a tenth of what it is without the lads.
What's on Columbo's mind?
>just 6 more hours and it’ll be dawn
>2 more and it’s rush hour
>that is when the splattening will begin
>the world will know the pain of the Ghastly Gallagher
That doesn't sound like Columbo at all!
Mary Jane sections where awful and felt like were there to check boxes with the woke people, i went in thinking that the gameplay would be a more faster Batman- Arkham style but it was somehow slower. and the story was only ok. only thing remarkable was the webslinging
It's funny because literally everyone hated the MJ sections but I imagine the devs are probably going to bring them back anyway.
some WW2 hitman-style game where you play as a woman. played maybe 30min before dropping it.
Star Fox Command. It was a let down to me. I gave it another chance and was still bored.
RAGE 2
I was EXTREMELY bored during the summer sale and a thread came up about it on here, I passed on the game at the time of release because I thought it was going to be an SJW game based on the marketing, but I asked in the thread if the game was actually any good and people said it was
either they were lying or they have the lowest standards ever, because holy shit that is the definition of a soulless game:
there wasn't a single likable character, the MC is generic as hell and comes off like a piece of cardboard, your "childhood female friend tomboy mechanic" is BARELY in the game (and she's not amazing anyway, just "ok"), all the project dagger leaders are just grumpy dicks, and honestly that's 90% of the cast summed up right there, with the only remaining characters being antagonists who are either so evil that it comes across as parody or that specific brand of "incompetent evil" where a minor villain is just a fat coward with money or something
the guns are very hit and miss, the assault rifle just feels weak even after upgrading it, the revolver is surprisingly weak and is meant to be offset by it's secondary fire (when activated, any enemies hit by your bullets set on fire), the plasma gun expy is ok but the overheating is a frustrating mechanic, the only guns I actually like to use were the rocket launcher and shotgun, and so the other guns barely got used after trying them out with their upgrades
speaking of upgrades: they suck, they are incredibly formulaic and boring, things like a choice between "increase magazine capacity" or "faster reload", I've played enough FPS games to know those are basically the same effect, which is "less downtime from shooting"
the driving is worse than RAGE 1, how the frick did they do that? especially with Avalanche studios handling the driving, Mad Max felt great, but the cars in this suck so much (and there's no fast travel)
running out of space, but those are the main things, 6/10 game AT BEST
bethesda has shills here, never trust any praise for any of their games
This game immediately lost me when 5 seconds in the protag you don't pick gets killed and your character doesn't react at all unless you manually walk over and look at the corpse.
Followed by repeatedly going
>X is such a badass, Y is so evil, but he's strong, so you should be a badass to beat him, like X. She's such a badass. Ohn o she died. Well she's such a bad ass she had a backup plan: You. You should be badass. Go be badass, you badass.
I don't care if its SJW or whatever; your mom could be your dad and it'd be just as weird to hear so many people jerk him off and tell you to basically go be him 5 mins into a game when my character such a sociopath he didn't give a single frick when a guy died next to him
Out of those that I finished?
Rogue Galaxy and Skies of Arcadia
Morrowind (never played another TES game after trying this one.)
The Witcher 3
Most western RPGs aren't my thing. The only one I really liked was Fable, but even then I only liked the first one.
>Most western RPGs aren't my thing. The only one I really liked was Fable
t. literally Peter Molyneux
Pete would not disparage Fable II and III though
I think he did in 2014
Did he? I thought he loves them.
Fable the Lost Chapters is really the only game of his I liked. I even tried Black & White upon the recommendation from several friends and wasn't impressed.
>fell for the V Rising meme
at some point you take a step back and think about how little fun you're having waiting for timers to run down and never go back to it
7 Day to Die.
I didn’t realize the crafting was giant blocks. Couldn’t get past that.
Surprised no one said Omori yet
Titan Quest. I had to skip entire areas in chapter 3 to avoid enemies since the combat was so boring.
the prologue was promising and hype
but everything after the was slow bland and boring af
>the 2010s Tomb Raider trilogy
RDR2 probably one of the worst, dullest, boring game this generation, everything about it is either boring or just straight up shit compared to even other open world games. Whoever thought it would be a fun idea to designe this game to be shitty like that with idiotic controls that feel like you are running through mud with half a second delay on everything should be fired and never find work in the entire industry again, pure fricking poison.
>ctrl+F
>none of my favorites are here
From the ones ive played this year:
Metro 2033
Hellblade
Horrible and made me get in arguments wit friends
