The little side things in gen 6 are surprisingly soulful, like the float stone guy who becomes a hiker, the guy who plays you the Gen 5 Emotion music, or the dying old man who asks for a baby pokemon to keep him company.
Even if I think it was poorly written, the BW plot was very well executed in its structure (especially at the final climax), and it's not surprising why most people find it to be the most memorable.
