I'm OK with modding consoles, but excessive stuff like this seems silly. Pick your desired video output and go with that. Are you really TV hopping so much that you need to be able to use YPbPr AND RGB AND S-video? Not to mention that original SNESes can already output S-Video and RGB from the multiout, so unless you're so hard up for cash that it's worth chopping up your SNES's shell to save a few bucks on cables, why bother. You can even get RCA female to aux female adapters for like $6 and use headphones that way, no modding required. Some of these mods really feel like social media mods, where the point is less about logic or utility, and more about posting a show-off photo to your community of choice.
You forgot that spergs are basically their own social media posts unto their creations. The guy who made it took a picture sure, but he probably also stares at it for 10 hours a day thinking about how cool it is.
It's not that, I love Nintendo and I think the excessive mod in the OP image is neat (although I wouldn't want or use it myself). It's just some weird and silly project made by a weirdo, it's fine. What makes Ganker users seethe is life itself. Anything slightly unexpected serves as the grain of sand around which anons will rapidly accrete a pearl of pointless hatred.
>It's just some weird and silly project made by a weirdo
Well, you can assume that. The problem is that good faith has been destroyed by people like the hot glue weirdo who used to hack his systems to pieces and then come here to brag that he was so smart for doing so and that we were all so stupid because we didn't.
Using a PS1 in an audio set up is a fun idea, but to me it kind of defeats the purpose of a game console to play music when people start doing mods that remove all of the console's gaming functionality. Like just buy an actual CD player at that point.
>Using a PS1 in an audio set up is a fun idea
It really does have to be one of those early models with the RCA outs on the back, though. Not that I've ever used one, but I do have a non-RCA PS1 connected to a fairly robust sound system in my battlestation; I tried using it to play music once, and it's honestly one of the worst-sounding CD players I've ever used, and I'm saying this as a bona-fide 90s kid.
>Like just buy an actual CD player at that point.
Well, as the legend went, the truly "good" PS1s were supposedly better CD players than the majority of CD players on the market in the late 90s, and could be had for comparatively little money. But the whole concept of being such a turbo-autist when it comes to digital music doesn't really make much sense to me, especially considering that if you were truly that much of an audiophile, you probably had already spent way more money on the rest of your setup, so why suddenly be frugal?
Especially with the logistical issues of using a video game console in an audio setup. Like what did they do for a display? How did they control it? I've really never looked into it.
> just lies about everything
this board truly is a dumpster fire of delusional liars and morons. >he truly "good" PS1s were supposedly better CD players
never happened. that is nonsensical garbage that came out of garbage audiophile forums. these are same low iq baboons that think 1-bit serial DAC made in the early 80s does something to the sound and unsurprisingly they can't prove this at all. no analysis via oscilloscopes, no spectrographs .. nothing. just wishful thinking and severe schizophrenia.
>just lies about everything
I didn't though. Literally nothing I said is in conflict with the truth, or anything you attempted to "correct" me about. Note the use of words such as "supposedly" and "legend" to denote the lack of credibility any of the claims I discussed. >this board truly is a dumpster fire of delusional liars and morons.
Agreed. Of particular issue are the morons who cannot into basic reading comprehension, and simply jump at the chance to make an ascerbic, b***hy post that satisfies their need to naysay. >severe schizophrenia.
Something you clearly have a lot of experience with. Stay safe, anon. Not every voice you're hearing is real.

never was, never will be.
>there's ppl out there who collect those for different sounds
those people are moronic audiophile morons that think certain types of DACs are magical and have a special sound.
All of these abominable plugs and no HDMI
It's for a wide variety of CRT setups. You can even use headphones with it.
>unique and interesting
is that your polite way of saying 'moronic'?
Always Unique Totally Interesting Sometimes Mysterious

And I just noticed there's even a fricking composite out on the side. Is this guy allergic to the multiout port?
Yes, cause it degrades the signal.
Literal autism
Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether they could, they didn't stop to think if they should

Allusion or delusion?
Where's the mod that makes the CPU run at a decent speed?
There's already a gore thread. Check the catalog next time.
>Where's the mod that makes the CPU run at a decent speed?
Here
I got the image from the gore thread. I don't care about dismembered consoles, I want to see unique and interesting /vr/ hardware modifications TM.
>modifications
*mutilations
>it's not gore/dismemberment, it's modifications

modding makes the nintencels seethe; based

Why no SPDIF?

badass
>why yes i enjoy horror games how did you know
Why do this mod when Nintendo AV to scart or bnc is good enough?
whats the difference between RGB and Y/Pb/Pr?
RGB = Red Green Blue + Sync
YPbPr Luma (black and white, carries sync) Pb (distance from blue) Pr (distance from red)
I only ask because I see rgb or YPbPr at goodwill and I want to know if itll work for a console or not
RGB or YPbPr what? Cables? What are you talking about?
yah, cables
Unlike the SNES in OP, there are no consoles with straight RCA component out jacks
Absolutely moronic when RGB converters are so cheap on AliExpress.
this looks like team fortress 2. is this even a real picture?
What is the point of this mod? The SNES already supports RGB out through the AV port at the back of the system.
boomers
god bless you anon
Cursed as all hell
>no RF
As moronic as this meme was, I will say this; a blacked out PS1 does make a pretty cool looking CD player.
Using a PS1 in an audio set up is a fun idea, but to me it kind of defeats the purpose of a game console to play music when people start doing mods that remove all of the console's gaming functionality. Like just buy an actual CD player at that point.

those people are moronic audiophile morons that think certain types of DACs are magical and have a special sound.
they do. there's different methods of turning zeroes and ones into analog
you have severe brain damage and have no idea how a DAC works.
different DACs have different sounds simple as
delusional fantasies from people that didn't even pass yr 5 of school.
they sound different to me
that's because you have severe brain damage or severe mental illness, and have no idea how a DAC works. simple as.
when i plug headphone into different box, it sound different
