you should close this thread, tap into your sense of curiosity, and play the game from start to finish. only takes like 15-30 hours, but once again, requires a sense of adventure and commitment to see it through.
the tutorial is reddit overload but after you get past it it's pretty great
the DLC is even better because there is almost no text dump bs telling you what to do
It's very much of those nu-söyle games that instist upon themselves, gaslighting you into thinking what you are doing is more important than it really is. Walking around and solving neo-puzzles isn't kino, it's disingenous game designs. And don't get me started on the woke pozzed israeli gay space aliens and genderless troony jannies and the "Oh My r/ifrickinglovescientific Elysium!" theme.

Undertale. I will never forgive the people who told me that game was worth a shit.
It's very unique. No guide or even help under any circumstances. Go blind and get immersed in the lore/atmosphere as you figure out what the frick is going on and what the frick you should do
The only piece of advice I could give you is that you should be thorough in your exploration. Don't jump from place to place because some 'places' are multi layered and thinking there is a good chance that you might skip a VERY vital piece of information if you decide to not come back somewhere because you felt you've seen anything the place has to offer. That's usually what kills runs for newer people
Exploration feels tangibly beneficial and satisfying. When you explore you learn about the way the world works and the history of the galaxy you're in. You use what you learn to make progress from connecting the dots. There's a lot of satisfying parts to put together and the game builds satisfying tension and payoff.

Gimme some key words about this game to spark that whimsy.
Confronting, Conquering, Finding, Rendezvous, Allowing, Accepting, Pioneering. Solving and Resolving
Yes.
Just recently finished it and I enjoyed it but it wasn't something I would call spectacular. It had a lot of soul, that I can say.
If you enjoy exploration you will probably find something to like here.
Seek mental help.
No one likes your store, Timmy.

wait a second...
is this whole Outer Wilds shill campaign a meta joke about the time loop?
No way
the anglerfish section filtered me
yeah sure
It's definitely pretty good and it's just nice to see people trying something relatively original.
I wasn't as keen on the dlc, but I guess I'm still glad I played it.
hey man, I love this game, too. that said, go away. everyone's better off this way.
Yeah It's good. Go as blind as possible

Great game. not for everybody. absolutely in no way the greatest game ever made. get it for cheap and give it a whirl. leave thread.
Just pirate it and see for yourself. Play for at least 1h, the start is boring.
Depends, if you like games with no real gameplay and you like waiting around to solve most of the puzzles then yeah you'd love it.
wish more games were only 15-20 hours long like OW instead of the open world 100+ hour """""""content"""""""" slop most devs churn out these days
It's a walking simulator for people who thought they were too cool for walking simulators.

You don't play video games.

It's a Metroidvania but it doesn't tell you where to use the Knowledge Boots

The space ship is also fun to crash.
Oh and if you do play the only hint/guide you should use is this:
The jellyfish have janky collisions and you probably are doing it right but the game has a hard time figuring that out.
I like how nobody here is telling you what it's about. Never played it so I don't know either.
it's about trying to stop the end of the universe
Yes.
This was also the game that showed people game reviewers are worthless.
It's the only game ever to actually make me *feel* things. I don't mean emotions, I mean feelings like vertigo.
threads posted in countless iterations and I've never actually played it. What's my opinion on it?
Yes, the less you know about it the better. But if you do not like it some 50 minutes in you won't like it afterwards either.
