I've never played any SMT/Persona game, but can we just take a minute to appreciate how talented their graphic designers are?

the style and UI are literally the entire reason the series got popular
Style over substance
>KNOCKDOWN
>KNOCKDOWN
>KNOCKDOWN
>ALL OUT ATTACK
>REPEAT
STYLE IS SUBSTANCE

got 'em
Go back.
You’re right, but fricking go back you Black person
How bad is Denuvo really?
Reload is the weakest of them all. the original had a gritty jank feel to its combat and exploration. also party members had to control themselves before P3P came around, so you had to give them the right tactics for a given situation, but even then they would do rando shit and frick up. a lot players were negatively vocal about it but I enjoyed it as it added a layer of realism to the otherwise monotonous experience were you never really knew what type of shit was gonna go down for sure. without these elements that give it its acclaimed identity, its really just a glorified VN and a bland, slogging affair as a video game.
>a lot players were negatively vocal about it but I enjoyed it as it added a layer of realism to the otherwise monotonous experience
wow are you a wienersucking freak
>muh puppeteer/sesame street team control
moronic. how in the world is it that even remotely realistic. not even in nipponland anime do you see some as outlandish as the MC calling out and micromanaging every blink or queef the party makes. The MC telling them beforehand what their job/focus would be/setting tactics is far more believable. Hate it all you want but you can't deny the level of depth and feel of agency/life it gives each member of the team.
Ah yes, characters repeatedly doing completely moronic things and no one would actually do really makes them FEEL real.
have a nice day though, the ai being garbage meant the difficulty had to be balanced around unreliable party members. Had your party been controllable, then the game could be designed around that and been more *actually* tactical.
I mean, do you complain that the enemies in Persona don't do anything remotely intelligent? I doubt it so it seem hypocritical.
That's cool and all homosexual, but your preference is entirely fueled by nostalgia and reload is the obectively superior way to play for anybody new to the game who doesn't have a bias yet
I played reload as my first persona game and it's 10/10.
But muh QoL
Doesn't that very clearly go against what's fun about turn based combat? Wise developers never sacrifice gameplay for the sake of story or to elicit a certain "feeling".
>a lot players were negatively vocal about it but I enjoyed it as it added a layer of realism to the otherwise monotonous experience were you never really knew what type of shit was gonna go down for sure.
You're a fricking moron it made the original frustrating to play. The characters barely follow your tactics.
>muh new voices
I turned off voice acting in Persona 3 and 4, it has no place in JRPGs.
I quit at the final boss because I didn't realize Mitsuru was just going to spam marin karin
My Mitsuru used Diarahan the whole time.
Okay but why is Soul Hackers 2 overall reviews mixed?
because it was bad and it has nothing to do with sh.
after persona 5 their schtick got boring. every game since is trying to emulate the same flashy GUI.
every new game they make including smt tries to be 'persona 5 but x'
5 has the best art direction of any vidya btw
What do you think the signature color for P6 will be? All the primary colors are done, so I'm thinking black and white
green and purple
apparently they're adding piccolo as a dlc boss encounter too
go play them first homosexual boy THEN we can talk about 'em
Yuko is tanned.
Persona was cool when I was 15, it's just cringe now
Opposite for me. I got into this series at the age of 20, and only appreciate it more as I got older and played the rest of the games as well as getting into the main series.
I have the feeling of "I wish I got into this earlier" but also I know damn well I would not have been able to appreciate any of these games as a teen.
I was sold on Metaphor the second I saw the ui for the menu a year ago or whenever.
I have not watched a single trailer, and have only seen a couple screenshots, its gonna be a good ride I'm sure.
They've done a few deep dives since then. It looks like it's gonna be absolute kino. Based off yesterday's Atlus direct thingy, it also looks like it's gonna bear more resemblance to SMT3 and DDS than Persona from a combat standpoint. I bit the bullet and preordered today.
it feels like they're the only ones left in the industry that give a frick about artstyle.
and this is why P3 is the only good modern persona game(i like eternal punishment's)
Graphic designers? Sure I could praise them.
The 3D modelers however continue to drop the ball, especially with metaphor. The art doesn't translate well to 3d.
Metaphor is such a cringey name. The japanese have completely lost their touch when it comes to naming their games.
