You used to could. Back when the battle engine was mostly 2D, you could use blue eye macro and VMware to establish your own bot empire. It required a LOT of autism but I did it. They eventually caught me because I wasn't even trying to hide it, but I got away with it for nearly a month, millions of pokedollars, a few shinies and cosmetics, and I even got to keep most of it + my main account because on the night it happened I randomly decided not to macro on my main because I was lazy and didn't feel like logging in a sixth account.
But it's not worth playing anymore, and Johto be damned. It's israelited as frick and boring and grindy. They make it so obvious that they want to make a profit off the game and do inane bullshit like nerf base game mechanics in order to try and force you to become a paypig.
They also totally spayed the fun banter aspect of the chat channels and they're just totally shady motherfrickers in general. Don't play this homosexual shit.
it's the gba and ds games, but online (so auction house, catching or battling events, running around spamming challenges on people) and a little harder than the original games (mostly because of level caps per badge)
It really isn't. Just don't put any money in, and it's fine. Breeding is harder and much more annoying, battles are stuck at 1x speed with no animation skip, and shiny hunting is massively harder (1/30k instead of 1/4k or whatever it is in mainline). Annoying shit, but nothing that actually impacts playing the game in any meaningful way. Easiest enjoyable 100hr of my life, plus it's on mobile so it's easy to play on the shitter.
Pokemon die when they breed. Now before some autist starts screeching about it, it's thanks to THAT that old players don't have entire boxes of 6x31 mons while you have jack shit; and you don't even need a lot of money or perfect pokemon for pvp (i have a bunch 5x27 and they do fine)
So only grind loving morons hate the change.
Other than that nothing really, the base game is just as the originals, so pretend you're playing on your gba but with a lot of people around too
Balanced around pvp? You can play all the regions and never interact with any other player whatsoever, but whatever

Good for new players as I said before, and you don't need to breed at all for the fricking story anyways so why are you complaining, that you have to breed for pvp? >cant keep legendaries

If I really wanted I could trade mewtwo to those games. You know, the whole "catch em all" thing the series is founded on? Every official and unofficial format blocks legendaries anyway so what's wrong with letting players keep them if they wanted to?

Nta but Mewtwo etc are allowed in official comp after a year or two, you just can only use one or two of that type of Pokemon and Mewtwo is shitty.
Smogon rules aren’t the real rules and Pokemmo is a fanfic of a fanfic

battle tower still doesn't allow them
The point was if the official games can have separate rules for different formats then why can't these jokers?
The answer of course is they want you to spend real money to get an advantage over others but the shills won't ever cop to that.

No the actual answer is because the PokeMMO devs are part of the large amount of spergs who believe the “there is only one of every legend and anything that contradicts that is just a gameplay contrivance xDDD” shit

Restricted Pokemon are like Mewtwo Groudon Rayquaza, the Pokemon that are intentionally overpowered and limited in official competitions depending on how long the game's been out. Raikou Aritcuno etc are "sublegends", they're rare in the story but they are otherwise treated like normal Pokemon.

Who cares if other players have boxes full of perfect mons? Breeding is totally brainless and you could easily just get that yourself with minimum effort. Deleting breeding pairs is absolutely moronic and 100% done to get money out of you.

There are but you can buy premium currency vouchers with pokedollars so even if something from the shop is bound you can still buy it without spending a dime
because i expected it to be an experience i could actually enjoy with my more casual friends instead of it being an autism simulator where theres forced level caps and a bunch of other time wasting shit, might as well just play showdown
>oh no I can't use pokemon level 40 against the gym with pokes level 20, save me Black personmaaann!!
God forbid they made the base game a tiny bit more difficult!
cope + seethe
anyone with at least half a braincel would rather either play the real games or showdown, this game offers literally nothing beside being showdown + grind and "donation perks"
>because i expected it to be an experience i could actually enjoy with my more casual friends
It used to be. Years and years ago I could kick the dogshit out of most of the /vp/ players with basic teambuilding knowledge and had a lot of fun playing with my friend. The popularity of competitive really destroyed any hope of a good casual Pokemon multiplayer.
it's inferior to just emulating the games unless you really value the experience of 12 year old mexicans spamming global chat. they place roadblocks in front of you for basic shit to stimulate the economy for autistic grinders
it's exactly the same except for the fact that you can't overlevel your pokemon to the point of one shotting everything in the game (before you beat the elite 4, then the cap is 100)

Anonymous
no sorry you can't use your favorites because we said so
ignore the discord raiders, theres a forced level cap that matches how many badges you have and you cannot turn it off, if that sounds shit then it's not for you. Anyone saying its "exactly the same" as vanilla pokemon is a liar
So how does the level cap work? I don't remember such a thing when I first played the game (what was surely a decade ago at this point)?
Does it stop you from grinding out levels inbetween gyms or something?
Also how do the multiple regions work? If I complete Kanto and then go to Johto, do I have to get rid of all my pokemon or do Johto gym leaders and trainers scale to my level?
Johto is a little different than other regions, in every other region your level cap scales to the amount of badges you have, period. Johto has other story elements that when finished increase your cap as well, so the progression is a little bit smoother (IE you won't have a mon that just sweeps the entire story between gyms).
It doesn't stop you from grinding, it's just a hard cap. cap says 60, you can get to 60, but when you reach 100% exp to 61, it just goes into a "pool" that's consumed when they cap is removed, and you stay at 60 instead.
Multiple regions are pretty simple, they reset you, they have their own separate level caps (and not all are scaled the same, so your cap at e4 for one region is NOT the same as other,s so don't think you can just build an e4 team and mop the e4s up everywhere).
When you go from one region to another for the first time, it basically starts you from the start of the game, in the house/moving truck/etc, and you can't leave that region until you hit gym 4 and unlock the port town. All your current pokemon are put in your PC (the PC is cross-region so you can go and retrieve easily), the only inhibiting factor is level cap, if your mon is above level cap, you can't use it. In the main games, being above the level cap means your pokemon sometimes disobeys you, here, they just don't want people cheesing it, as the battles are tuned up a bit to be slightly challenging instead of cakewalks.
Have they added co-op stuff? Haven't played this shit in years...
Co-op through, say, the story? No. Probably never will, though now that they've finished johto, they may walk back their earlier statements. The main form of co-op they have is double and triple battles, usually in the holiday/solstice events. You team up with 1/2 other people, enter a dungeon, fight through the dungeon in triple battles, get to a big level ??? pokemon boss (usually a legendary) with a custom moveset and beefy stats. Think raids in s/s or s/v.
This is more like a single player game with other people in it.
Oh I should specify, a lesser-known tidbit, if you've finished one region, let's say, Kanto, and go to Hoenn, but then remember you were assblasted by trumpets as a child, you can talk to your mom in your house and she can send you back to Kanto as long as you haven't beaten gym 1.
Helps a lot if you accidentally picked the wrong region or something.
So basically I'm not going to be able to bring along my previous Pokemon from another region until I get to the point where they're not above the level cap (likely the Elite Four).
You can bring low level pokemon from say kanto, then start johto but with a level 5 I dunno Lucario, ditch your johto starter and play like that instead
battle frontier has 4v4 link double with another player, yes.
no subway battles or gen4 bf, unfortunately.
that said, they've really really expanded bf, it's one of the larger endgame content areas, with tons of items and things to get/do, cosmetics and stuff, lots of breeding items if that's your jam, TMs, etc.
Anonymous
Can you do doubles by yourself in BF? Also I haven’t played PokeMMO since it first came out, I remember it was only Kanto and they did some kind of event to get Cacnea. Was there an account purge ever? I remember everyone wanted pay day Meowth haha but I assume they took out pay day at some point?
Anonymous
No solo doubles, but there's double with npc. The NPCs are absolute mongs, but occasionally you'll get cynthia or lance and they'll just fricking curbstomp most enemies. Usually you get joey or a rival and they just eat shit.
There are 5 regions now (1-5) and how transferring between was mentioned earlier in the thread.
There was no account purge, outside of extenuating circumstance like rulebreaking/permbans. pic related, been playing since very near launch, before breeding consumed mons, before starters gave guaranteed 6x15, etc.
Payday is actually still one of the favored moneymaking methods for newbies. Otherwise you're grinding out "charms" (lucky egg and amulet coin, consumables instead of traditional held items, that was a change made in the last 5-6 years) for money, or other held items (leftovers in cerulean cave, life orbs from absols in hoenn/unova, etc).
There's also money from rebattles, gyms and E4 are reformulated after you beat them, and have a 20~hr cooldown, but pay out huge amounts of money, and are surprisingly challenging if you're not prepped.
Anyway yeah if you ever do want to make money and you're just starting and don't have teams that can take on postgame E4, highly recommend payday+pickup meowth. Just make sure not to evolve it to persian or you lose pickup. I average like $20-30k/hr with pickup payday, not accounting for berry farms I've got going or anything else, and honestly, once you hit $1kk you're pretty much golden to do anything you want to do. That's money enough for tons of lures if you wanted to hunt and sell starters, it's money for a few days donation status to do hardcore shunting, it's money enough to buy some starter breeders and get breeding, even enough to flip.
Just depends on what you want to do to make money.
How long is it going to take until the queue clears?
If you mean how long till you get past the queue, no more than 10min at 5k, usually less. If you mean how long till the queue stops existing, probably a couple weeks based on old trends.
Cap is tied to badges, every badge raises the level cap
You can't use pokemon with higher level than your current cap and pokemon you own don't gain levels past the cap(but exp is stored)
Every time you start a new region you need a fresh party since you start at level 5
Johto is a little different than other regions, in every other region your level cap scales to the amount of badges you have, period. Johto has other story elements that when finished increase your cap as well, so the progression is a little bit smoother (IE you won't have a mon that just sweeps the entire story between gyms).

mainline pokemon is the opposite of this since they can shit out any turd and it will sell 20 million copies due to a fresh batch of 9 year olds wanting it. If this thing repels players for some reason it will die overnight
>so it must be good
yes, that is exactly how it works.

If you personally don't like it, that just means you have shit taste.
So there are microtransactions? This is a hard pass for me, sorry

Making my first post on v in a while to rate this server/game very highly. It's the definitive pokemon experience. The mad homosexual in this thread saying his friends arent gonna play it cuz no legendaries is why I'm not posting on this troony forum again. Get bent. Also Black person
I'm not sure about the level cap per badge, but is there Exp Share for the entire team like in the latest games?
I hope so, I want a casual more relaxing experience
>shiny rates are absurd
You are looking at it the wrong way
It doesn't matter if shiny chance is 1/30k, in a game that is played by thousands of players every day this means there will be a couple of dozens of shinies per day appearing in the market
Now, in PokeMMO if you breed 2 shinies the offspring will be shiny 100% of the time and any pokemon you breed will have your OT regardless of the parents, this means that you can grab a female shiny of a pokemon you want off the market, look for a cheap male in the same breeding group and toss them in the daycare to get an OT shiny of your favorite pokemon in minutes
You can't say that for ANY other pokemon game, official or otherwise, other than cheating/RNG manipulation
You can pass the nature with everstones, shinies will always have at least 1 perfect IV that you can pass down with brace items, you can change the ability with an ability capsule
You can choose the gender of the offspring to keep the ball rolling if you are autistic enough and the end result will be a correct nature, 5x31iv with the right ability guaranteed if you do it long enough
I like how pretty it looks but it's still the same old slow ass pokeymans except hard and annoying
PLA's hit-and-run pacing has retroactively ruined the series for me
Who the frick would want a harder pokemon game? Give us easier games, for fricks sake! I don't want to think or try or do anything but press a button and win!
Idea of a PokeMMO sounds cool but I got my fill playing those shitty ass browser Pokemon'MMO' games when I was younger. How about a mystery dungeon MMO? I never seem to see it mentioned despite it existing. Is it bad and the community filled with gays or what?
>I never seem to see it mentioned despite it existing. Is it bad and the community filled with gays or what?
if you're talking about PMU it's filled with gays, it's not even really a real PMD game because that'd be hard to translate into an MMO, and its golden era of content is dead and has been for around a decade
badge level cap is a good thing cuz otherwise you would overlevel and havr your pkmn disobey you randomly in battle which is much worse imo
no one fricking cares about breeding except sweaty tryhards and by then you would already be at the endgame
shinys are cosmetics
>moronic pajeet doesn't even know that Pokemon caught within the obedience threshold will still obey you if you level them above it
Play the actual games instead of your third world microtransaction garbage.
If you freshly catch a Pokemon that is already at a level above your limit it will not listen to you. The linear level designs of older games might only allow finding such Pokemon in a few circumstances, but in SV you can just immediately go to a high level area and get such a mon.
i did, i think it was in diamond that one of my mons got overleveled and started doing random dhit in a gym battle and made me throw my ds against the wall
shoulder buttons broke and the screen got a weird blue/red filter over it but worked just fine otherwise
also i used walk through walls cheats to get to the event mons
>why aren't you playing it
Because I already went through this meme once with Pokemon Revolution Online. I won't grind in another fanmade pokemon mmo again in my life.
Beware that you can't change regions until you get abour 4 badges (or in other words until you can reach the town the port is in, more or less)
You kinda can by talking to your mom before beating the first gym or whatever but that's for when you regret your choice immediately
I am
just beat gym 5.
Can't wait to get the E4 done so I can start working on the national OT dex and get up to mt silver. They already confirmed red is there so I wanna see if I need a full 5x31 team to beat him or if he's toned down. It'd be fricking sweet to have a brutal AI to battle.
They need better servers, while its probably cheap to upgrade they probably do not want to invest money on it or nintendo will rape their ases as usual.
You won't. You do it again.
There are no pokemon that you can only catch once here, you just don't get legendaries.
If you mean starters, starters are all forced 15x6, unless you have one from before I think 2014 when they made that change.
That's the problem. People who play mmo shit don't even understand how pokemon games work outside of casual storyline. Sometimes it takes more than hundreds reloads to get a pokemon with perfect ivs. And each time you need to use rare candies and shit just to see his ivs values. It will take forever to do that without reloads. I bet they just tune that shit to donate making literally p2w garbage.

???
mein bruder, there's a menu option to see IVs immediately after capture, no need for any of that shit.
It's more difficult to get high IV mons because that's pretty much an entire facet of the game, getting PVP/comp ready. If you just want to play with perfect mons and only play the combat part of it, showdown exists. Is the game consuming breeders optimal? No, it's fricktarded, but it's the way the game is, and they've said multiple times they don't want to change it because it keeps the game from becoming too topheavy.
with starter or without?
If with, feraligatr is still the go to. If without/first encounter rules, good luck, you will lose at gym 1 without a lot of luck or booster items.
They need better servers, while its probably cheap to upgrade they probably do not want to invest money on it or nintendo will rape their ases as usual.
The reason they don't buy better servers is because they already did that stupid battle shit with PRO and PokeOne when they were shilling everywhere. You know what happened? The rush of people left, and all that server space went to complete waste. So they downsized. All the hype will die out in a couple weeks and it'll be back to normal.
also nintendo has literally 0 ground to stand on in a battle. They provide 0 assets, it's all provided by the user putting roms in.
I mean do it as it's fun to you, I'm just saying the rebalanced gyms are a sight tougher than they were in the tests (I'm up to jasmine anyway), so be prepared to lose mons.
I like to start my nuzlocke runs with a little bit of a cheat-y thing like buying a 20x6 mon or something, just a liiiiiittle bit better than a starter, in case I get cucked by some 3x6 wild first catch, cause it does matter here, the rebalanced gyms/E4 will assrape you.
Red, big big BIG money (they're saying it's a weekly and offers $250k for clear), special cosmetics, IV adjusting items for leg dogs, extra berry patches, highest level spawns in any region (meaning tons of payday money)
basically gonna be a high level hub, it seems.
does the "mmo" part actually add anything positive? The breeding changes alone make me not want to play since breeding has always been the worst part of pokemon yet they somehow made it even worse
having other people around. Otherwise no on the whole it's basically just a big romhack that rebalances the gyms and E4s, and lets you go between regions fairly seamlessly. Trade system is nice I guess.
does the "mmo" part actually add anything positive? The breeding changes alone make me not want to play since breeding has always been the worst part of pokemon yet they somehow made it even worse
I like that I don't have to switch a different rom to play a different region
autist who wasted thousands of hours on this game over the years here
pros: >pvp ladder with rewards >community events that are pretty fun >lot of ways to play the game (pve/pvp) that will last your 100+ hours easily >excellent auction house system >not p2w
cons: >have to grind everything (EVERYTHING), massive timesinks >have to do the 3/4 main storylines before you can actually access all content >5 years ago a frickload of chineses invaded the game for some reason and they will never interact (+ they bot) >slow updates so the game falls into a coma after some months >most "communities" are actually just teams discord servers >meta is STALE AS FRICK if you like pvp
What are the competitive modes added in this? Playing to complete the dex seems pointless since gen 3 got their distribution mons cracked and you can transfer up to gen 5 in emulator, so getting your name out there would be the only incentive.
the ladder is one of the good things about this game:
There's a OU/UU/NU system (based on usage + tier council) with monthly rewards, aswell as open PVP tournaments a few times a week
The only con is that PVP is slow as frick (think console animations) and that people can spectate and counter you in tournaments if you go far
there are community events like tournaments based around specific types and catch competitions where you have an hour to catch the best IV/nature pokemon and you get insane rewards
not even just best iv/nature, there are events where they want you to catch the fattest magikarp and shit. I got my first 3 shinies from events like that.
I keep hearing that Nintendo tried to C&D them once and all they had to do to get away with it was rename cosmetics from the cash shop but it's always word of mouth so i can't say for sure
I can never believe anything I hear in the Pokemon community anymore, people make up so much bullshit trying to "get back" at GF for the removal of nat dex it's ridiculous.
It isn't word of mouth, but it also wasn't ninty that did it, it was a more general change in the way that IP and copyrights work. It happened to a lot of fangames in the mid 2010s, and other sites as well.
Originally the cash shop points were called "Donation points". You were "donating" to the creators, and not paying them for a good. They probably got hit with a C&D letter from paypal, or another payment processor, or legal entity that was warning them that they were taking money in a way that wasn't right. All they did was change it from donation points to reward points.
You might be thinking of the master chief helmet they had, and megaman helmet they had, that both had to be renamed cause the helmet was the "colorful bomber helm" and the master queef helm was "combat evolved" helmet. Both stupid choices by the staff but easy enough. I don't think they got C&Ds or anything, they just changed them pre-emptively or on advice of a legal professional.
You can find other sites and games doing it, like I mentioned. A big one that outs me as a gay is gaia online, they used to call their paid items "donation items" until they got in legal trouble for it.
homosexual. That makes sense why that happened. Was that the point that they added being able to buy things from the store with cash and not in game gold?
adjustable IVs are a godsend, I wish they expand that to other mons even if it doesn't carry over for PvE. Also some way to boost shiny chance like Masuda method, even if it makes the mon untradeable will be great
Shinies getting better rates for donations ensures they'll never add another way to increase those rates, unfortunately.
I think the IV changing system will almost certainly get expounded upon.
because I can't cheat money
I like games where I do the work.
But hope you make some new friends on here.

Redpill me on this game
it's the gba and ds games, but online (so auction house, catching or battling events, running around spamming challenges on people) and a little harder than the original games (mostly because of level caps per badge)
that doesn’t sound bad actually
It really isn't. Just don't put any money in, and it's fine. Breeding is harder and much more annoying, battles are stuck at 1x speed with no animation skip, and shiny hunting is massively harder (1/30k instead of 1/4k or whatever it is in mainline). Annoying shit, but nothing that actually impacts playing the game in any meaningful way. Easiest enjoyable 100hr of my life, plus it's on mobile so it's easy to play on the shitter.
it is a great shittercore mmo. the singleplayer experience is great, ive never touched pvp or trading beyond "give me my kadabra back for an alakazam"
sounds great. Why it isn't massively popular?
It is
no speed up and aids breeding mechanics
Game that makes gen 1-5 roms playable online with others with various changes to make it an autistic mmo
>various changes to make it an autistic mmo
How bad is it, I don't want to play a runescape tier grindfest
Pokemon die when they breed. Now before some autist starts screeching about it, it's thanks to THAT that old players don't have entire boxes of 6x31 mons while you have jack shit; and you don't even need a lot of money or perfect pokemon for pvp (i have a bunch 5x27 and they do fine)
So only grind loving morons hate the change.
Other than that nothing really, the base game is just as the originals, so pretend you're playing on your gba but with a lot of people around too
>its an mmo balanced around pvp
never mind ill pass lmfao, if i wanted pvp id just play showdown like everyone else.
Balanced around pvp? You can play all the regions and never interact with any other player whatsoever, but whatever
>level cap
>burn mon to breed them
>cant keep legendaries
>"adjusted difficulty"
doesnt matter, these changes alone make it not worth my time and especially not my friends time
Well you and your adhd homosexual friends can go watch tiktok instead I guess
Imagine people thinking pokemon should NOT be more difficult, jesus..
>i cannot refute your points and must throw out insults
i graciously accept your defeat
Here you go, sub 80iq monkey:
>level cap
Makes the game a little more challenging instead of whatever dopamine riddled "press button to win" games you zoomers play now
>burn mon to breed them
Good for new players as I said before, and you don't need to breed at all for the fricking story anyways so why are you complaining, that you have to breed for pvp?
>cant keep legendaries
What are you gonna use your mewtwo for, gaylord? Selfies?
>"adjusted difficulty"
waaahhh i want easier games mommyyyy
Don't (you) at me again, I don't want to catch your stupidity
again you still are confusing insults with refutes, i know it must be hard for you to articulate your points but please do actually try instead of coming off like a screaming ape
>hehe he used insults so I'll ignore anything he said
ur gay (now you can ignore this too instead of addressing the point and feel smart about it)
holy damage control just say you dont have anything to add
>think mewtwo is cool and want to use him
>UH SORRY YOU CAN'T HAVE HIM BECAUSE... WE SAID SO!
Forever sleeping on your trash, hope the devs are paying you well for your time.
I guess all original games that do not have mewtwo at all are absolute fricking shit because of that one detail. Oh well.
No the actual answer is because the PokeMMO devs are part of the large amount of spergs who believe the “there is only one of every legend and anything that contradicts that is just a gameplay contrivance xDDD” shit
they literally just released permanently catchable legendaries you idiot
So I can get my own Mewtwo and keep it?
I presume you will be able to soon. Right now it's the legendary birds and dogs
The legendary birds/dogs aren’t restricted Pokemon
wtf do you mean by restricted
Restricted Pokemon are like Mewtwo Groudon Rayquaza, the Pokemon that are intentionally overpowered and limited in official competitions depending on how long the game's been out. Raikou Aritcuno etc are "sublegends", they're rare in the story but they are otherwise treated like normal Pokemon.
so you said the devs think legend are unique and now you're walking that back and saying they think only restricteds are unique?
No I just assume when somebody is talking about Mewtwo everybody understands he is not the same as Articuno because the game classified him separately
>catch em all
that motto died 2 gens ago when they destroyed the national dex
Who cares if other players have boxes full of perfect mons? Breeding is totally brainless and you could easily just get that yourself with minimum effort. Deleting breeding pairs is absolutely moronic and 100% done to get money out of you.
Weird, I have a bunch of good pvp mons and never paid a dime! Stop being moronic for once, bro
>good
>just fine
I'm sure you think nothing of losing to the paypigs with perfects, nothing at all.
NTA but why do you care if other people spent money on a fricking emulation-based fangame
because I want perfects, something that's trivial to get in the actual games, without being squeezed for an unreasonable amount of time or money
>I want the best pokemons/items/whatever but I don't want to make any effort!
Go play showdown or something
>give us money for something that should be incredibly easy to do otherwise
yeah it's an mmo alright
>if something doesn't affect you in any way it's fine!
Holy shit have a nice day.
So there are microtransactions? This is a hard pass for me, sorry
There are but you can buy premium currency vouchers with pokedollars so even if something from the shop is bound you can still buy it without spending a dime
morons profiting off of nintendo's IPs illegally with shitty mmo gameplay
So when nintendo is going to pull the same shit they did with mario royale and make a PokeMMO?
Why doesn't Nintendo just make their own Pokemon MMO?
Because it's pointless, Pokemon is already a pseudo MMO
it would threaten the mainline games and there's no point since pokemon already prints money with minimal effort
So if it's not gonna exist why do they care about this? It's not really competing
they don't care and even if they did there's nothing they could legally do to stop it outside of trying to threaten people who don't know the law
>illegally
moron
Online Pokémon with shitty MMO features crowbared into it.
no self host
Because every one of those players looks like a gay furry troony, I mean who the frick dresses their characters like that?
Fricking homosexuals.
>Just
Black person it's been out since forever, frick yo utalking about homosexual?
Are you high? It came out literally today, you're thinking of sinnoh or unova
Anyone knows how to change the tileset so it looks like the GBC games? The DS look looks like shit.
Pls respond
I dont know
I'm moving, but damn the changes they made are insane.
Also they made it so yoy can permanently catch and own the three legendary dogs.
because i expected it to be an experience i could actually enjoy with my more casual friends instead of it being an autism simulator where theres forced level caps and a bunch of other time wasting shit, might as well just play showdown
>I expected pokemon online to be less autists
>a game composed of 40 years old min maxxers
doesnt address my complaint and wont make me play your game
>oh no I can't use pokemon level 40 against the gym with pokes level 20, save me Black personmaaann!!
I can just replay HeartGold instead why would I play some shitty pokemon MMO?
it's inferior to just emulating the games unless you really value the experience of 12 year old mexicans spamming global chat. they place roadblocks in front of you for basic shit to stimulate the economy for autistic grinders
bullshit
no way
what does this game offer me if i have no interest in competitive battling
Can I play casually or will I eventually hit some type of autistic MMO wall?
no our based game isnt for your cringe casual types, you will make a new team for each trainer on a route and you will enjoy it
you can play entirely single player and the games are exactly the same as the original
>forced level cap
>exactly the same as the original
>oh no I can't use pokemon level 40 against the gym with pokes level 20, save me Black personmaaann!!
>game isn't baby tier in difficulty anymore
>somehow this is a bad thing
so its not the same as the original then?
it's exactly the same except for the fact that you can't overlevel your pokemon to the point of one shotting everything in the game (before you beat the elite 4, then the cap is 100)
so i can keepmewtwo and breed full boxes of mons?
ok don't play the game we don't want you
No sorry they removed the "casual" difficutly setting
so its not exactly the same is it
No, it's online now so it's not exactly the same.
Casual shit for me is exp share for the entire party not euthanizing your dog because he was breeding. Wonder trade is something that can give any breedject for players but of course it's a moronic MMO game that need to control how you play.
no sorry you can't use your favorites because we said so
Bro it's just the gba and ds game but with people running around. Can you play pokemon platinum casually? Or fire red casually?¡ Same answer
ignore the discord raiders, theres a forced level cap that matches how many badges you have and you cannot turn it off, if that sounds shit then it's not for you.
Generally speaking yeah.
You can bring low level pokemon from say kanto, then start johto but with a level 5 I dunno Lucario, ditch your johto starter and play like that instead
I meant to say Co-op with stuff like B/W's underground trains and Emerald's Battle frontier
battle frontier has 4v4 link double with another player, yes.
no subway battles or gen4 bf, unfortunately.
that said, they've really really expanded bf, it's one of the larger endgame content areas, with tons of items and things to get/do, cosmetics and stuff, lots of breeding items if that's your jam, TMs, etc.
If you mean how long till you get past the queue, no more than 10min at 5k, usually less. If you mean how long till the queue stops existing, probably a couple weeks based on old trends.
forgot pic, woops.
Cap is tied to badges, every badge raises the level cap
You can't use pokemon with higher level than your current cap and pokemon you own don't gain levels past the cap(but exp is stored)
Every time you start a new region you need a fresh party since you start at level 5
Got it, thanks for the info.
why can the shills for this game not take any criticism at all?
>2009
>I wish there was a Pokemon MMO
>It would be so fun and maybe there could be some cute pokegirls girls to ERP
>2023
>Pokemon MMO exists
>It's all Pay to Win
>Female characters are all trannies and mods can see your private chats
>Can't say Black person either
Where did it all go so wrong
Literally every MMO ever
Its actually quite baffling isn't it anon? The idea of a pokemon mmo was everyone's dream, yet the reality is it sucks ASS
give it a rest bro, we get that you don't like it but the game has been going for 10+ years now and it seems like they're doing something right
>it's been running for a long time so it must be good
because that's working out so well for mainline pokemon, right?
mainline pokemon is the opposite of this since they can shit out any turd and it will sell 20 million copies due to a fresh batch of 9 year olds wanting it. If this thing repels players for some reason it will die overnight
>so it must be good
yes, that is exactly how it works.
If it's bad, it won't have players, and won't have people putting money into it, end of story.
If you personally don't like it, that just means you have shit taste.
The base is free, but yeah there are, unfortunately.
Well yeah? That's why it is +10 years old
Making my first post on v in a while to rate this server/game very highly. It's the definitive pokemon experience. The mad homosexual in this thread saying his friends arent gonna play it cuz no legendaries is why I'm not posting on this troony forum again. Get bent. Also Black person
>no new IP
I believe you
I'm not sure about the level cap per badge, but is there Exp Share for the entire team like in the latest games?
I hope so, I want a casual more relaxing experience
It's a bad game don't play it. It's way harder than the original, has changes to the breeding system and shiny rates are absurd.
>shiny rates are absurd
You are looking at it the wrong way
It doesn't matter if shiny chance is 1/30k, in a game that is played by thousands of players every day this means there will be a couple of dozens of shinies per day appearing in the market
Now, in PokeMMO if you breed 2 shinies the offspring will be shiny 100% of the time and any pokemon you breed will have your OT regardless of the parents, this means that you can grab a female shiny of a pokemon you want off the market, look for a cheap male in the same breeding group and toss them in the daycare to get an OT shiny of your favorite pokemon in minutes
You can't say that for ANY other pokemon game, official or otherwise, other than cheating/RNG manipulation
>you can have a shiny with shit IVs and wrong ability and potentially wrong nature that will never be comp viable
>inb4 comp is…le bad!
A pokemon game that isn't fricking piss easy shit made for zoomers and normigroids? Sign me in!
buddy we can see IP counts stop embarrassing yourself
I like how pretty it looks but it's still the same old slow ass pokeymans except hard and annoying
PLA's hit-and-run pacing has retroactively ruined the series for me
Who the frick would want a harder pokemon game? Give us easier games, for fricks sake! I don't want to think or try or do anything but press a button and win!
I picked a woman because it's my real gender identity and kept getting messaged by creeps to "cyber". I just wanted to play a comfy Pokémon MMO
YWNBAW
I have been one for three years and have loads of successful dates on tinder.
you have a great grasp of the english language for a three year old! thats so cool!
don't worry anon the moderators can see access your private chats so if you report those creeps they wouldn't be able to cover it up
dance shill monkey dance
someone in this thread should start their own casual pokemon mmo to spite the shills
>it's real
>
>Current queue position: 3393/4016
Idea of a PokeMMO sounds cool but I got my fill playing those shitty ass browser Pokemon'MMO' games when I was younger. How about a mystery dungeon MMO? I never seem to see it mentioned despite it existing. Is it bad and the community filled with gays or what?
pokemmo is different since it's actually an emulator with a mp mod
mystery dungeon mmo would be fricking impossible or would have shittons of griefing
>I never seem to see it mentioned despite it existing. Is it bad and the community filled with gays or what?
if you're talking about PMU it's filled with gays, it's not even really a real PMD game because that'd be hard to translate into an MMO, and its golden era of content is dead and has been for around a decade
badge level cap is a good thing cuz otherwise you would overlevel and havr your pkmn disobey you randomly in battle which is much worse imo
no one fricking cares about breeding except sweaty tryhards and by then you would already be at the endgame
shinys are cosmetics
you said that already OP
i didn't make the thread schizo, i am
had completely forgotten about it until today
>moronic pajeet doesn't even know that Pokemon caught within the obedience threshold will still obey you if you level them above it
Play the actual games instead of your third world microtransaction garbage.
>caught within the obedience threshold
What are either of you talking about? The only thing that determines obedience in the real games are trainer ID
smartest pokemmo player
If you freshly catch a Pokemon that is already at a level above your limit it will not listen to you. The linear level designs of older games might only allow finding such Pokemon in a few circumstances, but in SV you can just immediately go to a high level area and get such a mon.
Completely wrong. OT has always been the only thing that matters.
If it's somehow different in S/V then I don't care because I'm never touching that garbage.
i did, i think it was in diamond that one of my mons got overleveled and started doing random dhit in a gym battle and made me throw my ds against the wall
shoulder buttons broke and the screen got a weird blue/red filter over it but worked just fine otherwise
also i used walk through walls cheats to get to the event mons
because there's a 4000 person queue and I'm not paying to be in the paypig queue. I'll just wait a few days until things calm down
>why aren't you playing it
Because I already went through this meme once with Pokemon Revolution Online. I won't grind in another fanmade pokemon mmo again in my life.
they cant dmca pokemmo, it's an emu
needs you to provide the roms yourself
Wrong post, AI kun.
Pokemon revolution is dogshit bro
Pokemmo is the real deal
k
When it says Black/White do I need both roms or either?
either
Beware that you can't change regions until you get abour 4 badges (or in other words until you can reach the town the port is in, more or less)
You kinda can by talking to your mom before beating the first gym or whatever but that's for when you regret your choice immediately
Pokemon in intolerable to play unless it's on 2x speed.
I am
just beat gym 5.
Can't wait to get the E4 done so I can start working on the national OT dex and get up to mt silver. They already confirmed red is there so I wanna see if I need a full 5x31 team to beat him or if he's toned down. It'd be fricking sweet to have a brutal AI to battle.
why do people say this is pay to win
the only shit you pay for is dumb garbage like increased shiny rate (literal troony nonsense).
they mean you can't just farm up a shiny natured 6IV mon in a day
artificial scarcity, the highlight of any MMO
every video game scarcity is artificial
they're moronic
Can other people see the username you logged in as or just the character name?
Rest easy Black folklayer1488 other players can only see your character name, your username is for login purposes.
Have they added co-op stuff? Haven't played this shit in years...
i assume this will take hours
They need better servers, while its probably cheap to upgrade they probably do not want to invest money on it or nintendo will rape their ases as usual.
Nintendo can't do shit against pokemmo
Breeding
That's definitely better but why?
Yeah and how will I reload the game if I got shitty ivs?
Starters are all 6x15 I think
you catch more
sell the ones you dont need for pokeball money
That's the problem. People who play mmo shit don't even understand how pokemon games work outside of casual storyline. Sometimes it takes more than hundreds reloads to get a pokemon with perfect ivs. And each time you need to use rare candies and shit just to see his ivs values. It will take forever to do that without reloads. I bet they just tune that shit to donate making literally p2w garbage.
if youre autistic enough to need perfect ivs that much youre autistic enough to do the grind
it is literally just breeding
https://forums.pokemmo.com/index.php?/topic/49440-the-breeding-guide/
>each time you need to use rare candies
???
mein bruder, there's a menu option to see IVs immediately after capture, no need for any of that shit.
You won't. You do it again.
There are no pokemon that you can only catch once here, you just don't get legendaries.
If you mean starters, starters are all forced 15x6, unless you have one from before I think 2014 when they made that change.
Nah, I was at like 3700 and was in in 3 minutes tops
How would you roll ivs in mmo game?
Breeding lets you directly improve, "rolling" is the same as in the games, you just catch.
Imma nuzlocke Johto, any tips?
with starter or without?
If with, feraligatr is still the go to. If without/first encounter rules, good luck, you will lose at gym 1 without a lot of luck or booster items.
They provide 0 assets, it's all provided by the user putting roms in.
eh, maybe I'll just do one poke per route, then if they die I can heal them. At least the team will be more varied
I don’t play babby game
is there a way to skip battle animations
chinkshit
dutch actually
imagine caring about breeding and shit instead of doing 5-region nuzlocke
Definitely doing that after I beat mt silver on my main. figure I can probably squeeze some yt views out of it too, hue.
shill thread
PokeMMO nuzlocking sounds mad intimidating as shit
How long is it going to take until the queue clears?
A week
shill thread
because PokeRev exists
>have to pay to be able to access half the pokedex
lmao
>i am filtered pissbaby newbie
ok but who asked?
[PRO PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED TO SEE THIS POST]
>pokemon but with all the grinding cranked up to eleven
just play emerald quetzal jesus christ
So what is supposed to be so special about Mt. Silver that it requires the nat dex to be finished and every gym badge? Is it just Red?
it's a bit early to tell but it seems like you get an item that lets you modify the IVs of the legendary dogs
Red, big big BIG money (they're saying it's a weekly and offers $250k for clear), special cosmetics, IV adjusting items for leg dogs, extra berry patches, highest level spawns in any region (meaning tons of payday money)
basically gonna be a high level hub, it seems.
>highest level spawns in any region (meaning tons of payday money)
Doesn't payday scale off YOUR level or did they change that?
they changed that, it scales off the enemy's level.
does the "mmo" part actually add anything positive? The breeding changes alone make me not want to play since breeding has always been the worst part of pokemon yet they somehow made it even worse
having other people around. Otherwise no on the whole it's basically just a big romhack that rebalances the gyms and E4s, and lets you go between regions fairly seamlessly. Trade system is nice I guess.
I like that I don't have to switch a different rom to play a different region
autist who wasted thousands of hours on this game over the years here
pros:
>pvp ladder with rewards
>community events that are pretty fun
>lot of ways to play the game (pve/pvp) that will last your 100+ hours easily
>excellent auction house system
>not p2w
cons:
>have to grind everything (EVERYTHING), massive timesinks
>have to do the 3/4 main storylines before you can actually access all content
>5 years ago a frickload of chineses invaded the game for some reason and they will never interact (+ they bot)
>slow updates so the game falls into a coma after some months
>most "communities" are actually just teams discord servers
>meta is STALE AS FRICK if you like pvp
oh i forgot the worst thing:
>pvp has SLOW AS FRICK animations and each battle takes ages
What are the competitive modes added in this? Playing to complete the dex seems pointless since gen 3 got their distribution mons cracked and you can transfer up to gen 5 in emulator, so getting your name out there would be the only incentive.
Tournaments and shit like that. Also a 60 seconds queue going on constantly to play pvp against randoms
the ladder is one of the good things about this game:
There's a OU/UU/NU system (based on usage + tier council) with monthly rewards, aswell as open PVP tournaments a few times a week
The only con is that PVP is slow as frick (think console animations) and that people can spectate and counter you in tournaments if you go far
>OU/UU/NU system (based on usage + tier council)
Bro that's so cringe
it's cringe but UU/NU is fun
there are community events like tournaments based around specific types and catch competitions where you have an hour to catch the best IV/nature pokemon and you get insane rewards
not even just best iv/nature, there are events where they want you to catch the fattest magikarp and shit. I got my first 3 shinies from events like that.
>can't disable battle animations
I only ever played pokeONE, which had johto in it like 6 years ago.
And pokeMMO has had Hoenn, and Sinnoh for years lol
Also
>Rerolls
Lmao
does it have doubles (based) or is it all singles(cringe)?
it has doubles. In fact gym rematches are always doubles
it has triples even.
Fairy type when?
How did they manage to dodge the dmca hammer?
They don't distribute ANY of the game data with the client.
All of it is provided 100% by the user in the form of ROMs.
they don't use any nintendo assets (except for the login screen having reshiram and zekrom I guess?). You have to supply your own roms
The same way decomps avoid it, by making you supply the assets not them.
If you still play pokemon past Sword/Shield, you're a fricking moron that doesn't deserve money.
Because I'm stuck in the FRICKING QUEUE.
Are you able to fast forward through random/NPC encounters?
Playing that shit on 1x speed is torture
nope. That's pretty much the way they incentivize using exp boost items or money boost items.
kek, yeah the only reason old gens are so playable now is because of emulator fast forwarding
Reminder that as of today it is literally illegal to say johtomorrow
JohTODAY
johtese nuts
more permanent legendaries when
fully functional battle frontier when
that's probably what's gonna be worked on next. There's no more regions they can feasibly add.
is there a good romhack of hgss?
Does it have the battle frontier?
Yes.
only about half the facilities are implemented I believe. No dome, pike and pyramid
adjustable IVs are a godsend, I wish they expand that to other mons even if it doesn't carry over for PvE. Also some way to boost shiny chance like Masuda method, even if it makes the mon untradeable will be great
Shinies getting better rates for donations ensures they'll never add another way to increase those rates, unfortunately.
I think the IV changing system will almost certainly get expounded upon.
>carry over for PvE
*PvP
I'm not Brazilian
I'm not a normalhomosexual, so I don't need to tack on a social component to enjoy a game.
i am, still stuck on hoenn E4 the motherfricking area right before it tops out at level36 are you fricking kidding me
The idea of Pokémon being a MMO always came from anime homosexuals wanting to larp as Ash
I made a female character to get free shit from dumb simps and it's worked, I have almost all the ocarinas
i'm not against battling but there is something else you can do with friends? Like quests and such?
seasonal events
at some point there will maybe be coop dungeons
