JRPGs as a whole are archaic and cringe. The next Final Fantasy should be a reboot, and should play more like Half-Life. No, not an FPS, but a game that is more directly linear and tells a story through gameplay, rather than static textboxes and movie-length cutscenes. Give me a window into a Final Fantasy game's world, without me having to traverse town after town and grind endlessly. Final Fantasy XIII came the closest to doing this, but unfortunately it failed in execution in every way.

I'd even trade the 1 dungeon we get each patch for literally anything else as there's hardly any reason to do them more than once when you can cap tomes in so many different ways.
It's true we don't have a new exploratory zone, but instead we got a new deep dungeon, 3 variant/criterion dungeons, 2 Ultimates (which I bet you haven't cleared anyway), Island sanctuary and a reason to actually pvp with the Series rewards every patch.
I wouldn't say it's any less than what we got before.
Also a personal note, the quality of the raids, Ultimates and 24 man raids has been a lot higher than in Shadowbringers.

I genuinely hate it. I have the steel box at home because I was excited for it after the demo, but I despise overly easy action games and on top or being easy, it has fricking HORRIBLE pacing and repetitive as frick enemies. After around 50%, you can clear every mob by spamming certain screen clearing special moves.
The story isn't interesting. It starts out with great and cool world building and set pieces but becomes unironically the most generic JRPG story you have seen in many many years. Multiple characters are insanely boring.
There's no gameplay beyond combat. No dungeons, no resource management, no choices in quests, crafting is useless, RPG elements are useless.
The only way you can enjoy this game is if you're not used to action games at all. This game is basically a litmus test for me. If you enjoy FFXVI you basically just want a playable movie. I can understand why someone would enjoy FFXVI but I genuinely can't it you're someone who enjoys mechanical or thematic depth whatsoever in your video game . It's an incoherent, boring mess
