Frick, tell me about it. 2000 AD minis in blisters go for like $30-$90 on ebay and out of blisters they're still like $15+ each. Really hurts because I love lead and I love 2000 AD.
>They’re also a bunch from 2009 I think that are metal as well.
Yeah, Foundry had the 2000ad license for a spell and put out some quite nice little minis. Difficult to find these days, sadly, I don't think they sold very well so they don't pop up very often on the second-hand market
Its in retailers. It has news on all mini sites. Its in magazines.
Its not warhammer. That's why nonone plays it. Its not warhammer but its close enough that no one will buy it on the idea that atleast its very different to what I normally play like with maulifax
They released ABC warriors last year, but only sent out a few promotional sets to a few influencers a few months ago after the launch flopped. They're shockingly bad at it.
also they regularly (im told) try and fob off articles/media stuff to guys from other departments to pitch in, im not even sure if their media guy is actually in a media position
I used to be a big warlord fanboy but it mystifies me how shite they've has become, used to a a solid stable of games with good releases and plenty of support in terms of faq's, new free rules, articles etc.
Then gates of antares happened, they first stopped doing bits and then started focusing on their licenced games and spin offs, none of which are do well or are supported (so a vicious cycle) ad now we have shitty resin and judge dredd is on its second and shittier iteration plus a bunch of other 2000ad spin offs nobody asked for and doctor who and nonsense.
Go back to the cores and frick off with this ''next big thing'' chasing bullshit.

The commitment to releasing a new 2000AD game each year is genuinely baffling. It's not the late '90s anymore, 2000AD doesn't have nearly the reach or fanbase it used to and is increasingly just viewed from the outside as 'The Judge Dredd Comic'. Did they really anticipate wide demand for a Slaine ruleset? >and doctor who and nonsense.
They quietly smothered the Doctor Who back in 2022 fwiw. They decided it wasn't worth renewing the license for another year, so they just chucked out the remaining unreleased sets as bonuses for webstore orders over a certain amount

it's to keep the shitty licence i'm assuming they overpaid for.
I truly dont get why most would be interested in properties with very limited your dudes potential like slaine.

The robot from the movie is just Hammerstein and there's not one, but 4 Hasmmersteins in that box and the starter set and they're the worst sculpts in the whole range.
so much of what is available is either grimdark or Infinity
but ttcombat makes some more neutral stuff
sarissa made a couple of dredd-specific kits, most notably the generic megacity shop kit that came out when the current dredd game launched
Thanks, I'll look into those. This game looks pretty fun if you have some terrain from Mega-City One. I own a cricket so graffiti shouldn't be too hard.
Anyone know of a pdf of the original role playing game?
I have the book but I can't scan it in without damaging the pages and my scanner is pretty shitty with making washed out images.
I just wanted to introduce some online friends to a world I enjoy.
>just use dark heresy or any percentile system and explain the strength stat, XP and 2d3 stat gain rules
But it has a lot of esoteric rules like vehicle stuff and a nice rundown on how you arrest someone that'd be cringe-inducing if I said it and a glossary if anyone likes it enough they want to say dumb Megacity words like I do...
That is how I got my copy. The other people aren't in the UK.
I would consider trying to get spare copies of all the releases on ebay or elsewhere, carefully cut down the spines to make it feasible to scan them, if there isn't a better way, but mine's shit.
Did try previously, that's why I thought here might be good because there are actual fans of Dredd here and everyone always rated the GW RPG higher than the later one.
They released ABC warriors last year, but only sent out a few promotional sets to a few influencers a few months ago after the launch flopped. They're shockingly bad at it.
They didn’t include Dredd in the starter. Even the He-Man game gave both him and Skeletor. They need another edition or a new starter and include dredd. It will sell by that alone.
I've got the starter set and painted up a few of the gangers and both street judges. I'll have to actually take a crack at playing it sometime. I've got a ton of old Ral Partha Cyberpunk and Shadowrun pewter, and original Adeptus Arbites so I'm pretty well set for miniatures too.
I'm a big fan of DIY terrain. For Dredd, I'd recommend printing whatever cyberpunk scatter terrain you can find and building hab blocks or what have you from scratch. Search around for Cyberpunk and Necromunda.
Minis seem ok.
Gav Thorpe and Andy Chambers made it, it’s probably fun.
That belt buckle flag…
>flag
You are an idiot, and an ellipsis shitter. 20 years in the pain cell.
That is the flag, they only have five stars to represent the 5 mega-cities.
That's pretty cool. Where'd you get this guy?
nayrt, but that's an old Citadel mini, catalog ref JD7
Only $20 for all that…
Frick, tell me about it. 2000 AD minis in blisters go for like $30-$90 on ebay and out of blisters they're still like $15+ each. Really hurts because I love lead and I love 2000 AD.
Hershey and Anderson, nice.
Not mine, but this anon
has it. They’re also a bunch from 2009 I think that are metal as well.

All I have seen of those is a full collection of all of them for like $800-900.
Those are very well painted.
Great painting can save any sculpt.
I’m surprised this has never taken off. Those are pretty good for the time.
>Andy C
Yay!
>Gav T
Gay.
You only started hating Gav recently the guys been working forever dude face it
Nice.
Try youtube.
Any idea how to replicate this scheme with citadel or vallejo paints?
Use your eyes to look at the colors and use similar ones.
Look for tutorials for night lords. Blue/black and red should be the same.
Fun if you have a cool table.
can you please tell me who makes the buildings in this pic
It looks like Terrain Crate? One of those ones. Maybe start there?
This looks dope! Why aren’t people playing it? They need to market better as I didn’t know it existed.
Its in retailers. It has news on all mini sites. Its in magazines.

I haven’t seen much of it online.
Try YouTube.
Warlord suck shit at marketing because they recruited most of their senior positions via old boys club membership rather than competence.
They need to give some out to some influencers. They’re even still making new stuff regularly for this game.
They released ABC warriors last year, but only sent out a few promotional sets to a few influencers a few months ago after the launch flopped. They're shockingly bad at it.
Pick some up and paint some, take nice photos, become the influencer and get free Dredd merch.
Good idea. Catch you on the flip side.
They really are. It’s a shame how few people know who judge dredd even is these days.
also they regularly (im told) try and fob off articles/media stuff to guys from other departments to pitch in, im not even sure if their media guy is actually in a media position
The only game that everyone wants to be the good guys.
Very solid sculpts.
I like the fatties.
How are the Dredd RPGs? The minis look good for that if the game isn’t that fun for you.
There is an ABC warrior game too.
I know how many copies of the starter set of this game warlord made and how many they actually sold and suffice to say this game was a sales disaster.
Well yeah, who wants that much of that?
What are the numbers anon, spill the hot goss
They made 5000 starter sets. They got 4 perorders by the end of the preorder period.
That’s pretty bad. Probably will stop making robots for a while.

A kindness really, like the harry potter game.
That's a shame, but I get it, it's niche as frick.
Robot from the movie in there? That might sell.
The robot from the movie is just Hammerstein and there's not one, but 4 Hasmmersteins in that box and the starter set and they're the worst sculpts in the whole range.
Pretty cool, but there's one thing missing in the set.
Where's General Public?
I need to get this starter set. Just for those minis though.
Looks cool.
I just ordered the starter set for Father’s Day.
Nice.
It's pretty fun. Brother and me play it. Easy to learn rules, fun gameplay and loads of models and unit types. I'd say give it a go!
It should be arriving soon enough and I’m quite looking forward to painting and playing with those minis.
Good to hear. Hoping my buddies will be down, at least one of them is another dreddhead.
Starter is pre assembled too. Play right out of the box.
Also same rules for the Strontium Dog stuff.
That’s one of my favourite team ups.
Has some sweet boards.
Game should be arriving here on Thursday, I’ll post about how it is then.
Where to get future city terrain?
so much of what is available is either grimdark or Infinity

Nice to have a stencil maker.
It is, I use it for warhammer.
I wish this got more people into Dredd. Such an interesting world.

I’ve only ever seen it physically on ebay. Isn’t that expensive as far as retro stuff goes either, sadly almost no one cares about Dredd merchandise.
That is how I got my copy. The other people aren't in the UK.
I would consider trying to get spare copies of all the releases on ebay or elsewhere, carefully cut down the spines to make it feasible to scan them, if there isn't a better way, but mine's shit.
Try the pdf request thread, those folks are usually good at at least cryptically answer your questions.
Did try previously, that's why I thought here might be good because there are actual fans of Dredd here and everyone always rated the GW RPG higher than the later one.
The old GW minis are great too.
im pretty sure Rebellion are rereleasing it along with. some of the old board game like Block Mania
That’s cool.
They didn’t include Dredd in the starter. Even the He-Man game gave both him and Skeletor. They need another edition or a new starter and include dredd. It will sell by that alone.
Not having Judge Dredd in your Judge Dredd starter set was a bad move. They should have just said that was Dredd and Anderson or Hershey.
>It will sell by that alone
Not if they don't tell anyone that they're doing it, which seems to be a problem they have.
I just got the starter, I will play it and tell my friends to play it with me. I will also always post about it if its actually a fun game.
You're putting in more effort than warlord have, godspeed!
Somebody has to. I would like to see more Dredd, especially the minis as they're quite nice.
>They didn’t include Dredd in the starter.
No way, that's one of the absolute dumbest possible thing they could have done.
Thinking of somthing like this and I should be good for a long time. Modular and big city block worth of stuff. Just need to find a city mat.
Not sure if futurey enough, make sure to have lots of future scatter terrain.
How good is terrain crate if I can find it?
What is the best company for city mats? Need one to also double as a KT board.
check this one

My starter box should be arriving tomorrow and I’ll post the stuff. If fun I will order Dredd and Anderson next.
How does it play?
Starter box is here, will post minis when I paint them.
The mail is here.
sweet

I went all in on Slaine and I'm pleased with the quality.
Once I'm done painting it. Judge Dredd will get the same treatment.
I'm low on urban terrain tough, are there any recommended STLs/brands?
I’m just gonna use some terrain crate future city stuff. Starter box come with graffiti and stuff to use too.
I'm a big fan of DIY terrain. For Dredd, I'd recommend printing whatever cyberpunk scatter terrain you can find and building hab blocks or what have you from scratch. Search around for Cyberpunk and Necromunda.
