A logistic nightmare where no matter how large you made your factory, you'll have to rebuild it at least 4 times because you'll somehow run out of space.
And trains. Lots of trains.
Belts can't move as much as trains though. And trains are much more scalable and dynamic. 2 train tracks can haul in many ore fields at once for very little resource cost.
The issue ends up being >do I use 5000 belts to reach around and do this one basic task or do I rebuilt half my factory because I accidentally built shit too close together?
uhm WOW, did you just try making fun of me?
Well, unfortunately for you, you seem to have forgotten your "quotation" arrow (also known as the "meme" arrow)
I bet you feel quite silly now, that you've been EMBARASSED like this!
you will either get hooked up, constantly postponing turning it off just to improve that one bit,
or you will face despair realizing how much you have to have to set up to achive next step that you will turn it off and do something more productive
if you start playing it, my only advice, automatise production of products, make your factory produce stuff like assemblers and stuff them to boxes, dont be like me who was handcrafting basically everything but science and ammo
The pinnacle of its genre. I mean, its the only one which actually got out of Early Access, but damn is it good.
You'll see an option to play a tutorial, which honestly wouldn't recommend that much, you can get used to the game itself by starting a regular run and reading tips. Would honestly recommend asking for tips and stuff here or if the thread dies on /egg/ if you're fully stuck on something.
A general tip would be to really space out your factory, goes for new and veteran players alike. No matter what, leave space between your structures, since later down the road you're gonna need to connect 2 things across the map together, and that free space would be real useful.
A feeling of inadequacy
If you like the idea, but it's too autistic for you, I extremely highly recommend mindustry, I think it's still free but you can also buy it cheaply on steam to toss the dev some money
DEFINITELY get some mods. Don't get anything that changes big parts of the game but some shit will just straight up make your life better. I don't know the exact mod list I used but for example Squeak Through is such a tremendous qol update it's insane. There's others like this that just make the game less of a nightmare
Vanilla for first time. Maybe try QoL mods after that, but I'd recommend a couple of runs before you get to the overhaul mods like SE. Also, those overhauls are insanely long, so at that point might as well look for others to play with to finish it without taking stupendous amounts of time.
But before all that, get used to vanilla, its the core of everything to come.
My belt is full and it can't carry more. I thought it would be easier if I just had a belt with both copper and iron on it, but I'm thinhking maybe I should separate them after all. Only thing is that long distance grabbers are slow.
Big bottleneck will be long arm for input on the right side, won't scale up nicely. The general idea of copper wires then red circuits assemblers is good. Still like the other anon said, your green circuit is significantly more problematic, I'd recommend looking at the ratios and try to match that in the design.

I only use trains for fluids. Everything else is belted.

>run out of space in an infinite world
Not how that works.
The issue ends up being

Infinite world = infinite resources = infinite buildings.
>Infinite world
excuse me, but actually it's limited to 2 million by 2 million tiles square
A world of infinity size can hold infinite trains, even if it is full
This is heckin wholesome.

Incomprehensible mechanics
I didn't even read that but I don't understand it
dude mutex lmao, just watch 5 trains eat rice using 5 chopsticks

Have fun, anon.
Any mods you'd recommend or should my first playthrough vannila?
play vanilla first, you can only play vanilla for the rest of your life if you want, it's very good
first playthrough vanilla, then if you're hungry for more (you'll be) you can start asking for mods

First time?
Make it a easy mode for yourself.
Increase more resources and slow down the alien spawns.
i wonder when the expansion is coming out
Initially slated for an august release, most recent interview seems it was pushed to october
If you have to ask and post that dumb image then you will get filtered
Belting.
Is this a bad way to make red circuits? I don't seem to make green fast enough to fill the line properly.
Green looks like it's short on copper.
Also half of them are being split off to somewhere else.

>what am I in for?
Fun
addiction
is there a workable sea of garbage meta
yes
I thought that tree had efficiency modules in it for a sec
Software programming but as a game
endless busywork that achieves nothing
at least in roller coaster tycoon you get a sweet theme park
in factorio you get a maze of conveyor belts carrying random shit to make other random shit
