Ice cream places in my town never made it. We had a Marble Slab Creamery that went out of business after like 2-3 years. Baskin Robbins went out of business as well.
I don't know what it is, but yogurt and custard places always stuck around longer. We have a local yogurt place that has been around for a few years now and it's pretty popular when I go by it.

I literally ordered from the cold stone 5 mins from me, delivery has always been smooth as shit and its always fricking frozen.
I ordered my Kirby ice cream and its fricking goop, got my money back and used the melted remains and mixed it with alcohol.
