That said, visual clarity is a massive issue in action games and it can make or break the combat. It's weird how devs are willing to make all kinds of camera/character model/animation compromises to improve it, but they'll rarely if ever just fricking minimize the amount of on hit effects.
The issue OP is upset about isn't that Fromsoft keeps making the same game but more flanderized each time, it's that countless developers keep copying the crappy combat system leading to a homogenized market.
It makes perfect sense as is. Bloodborne started the autistic rhythm game shit by shifting the gameplay loop 100% to avoiding wide sweeps using i-frames, and Sekiro stopped pretending you're dodging anything when you press the button.

I beat the game with most every weapon, made multiple homebrew builds and busted through the game with them as starting items lvl 1 too.
People get filtered when it isnt a boring punching bag, Reason why they stop making unique boss encounters like in demons souls and focus on arena style learn the boss pattern fights for 99% of elden ring bosses

Bonfires/enemy resets
Connected world without instanced dungeons/levels

all easy to copy & now you don't need to create your own systems
Dark Souls 3's biggest problem was the lack of connected world. I unironically could not figure out that I had to teleport from the first bonfire for 30 minutes because I expected everything to be connected. The constant warping and cutscenes between areas really irked me.
DS1 had the Anor Londo split, DS2 was interconnected, but nonsensically.
I don't think the series has improved on the Firelink/Parish/Depths/Blightown/Firelink loop of the first 10 hours of DS1
It just looks like that in the video. Those are obviously repeating animations and are probably a lot more clunky in practice since you will get locked into the jump attacks
