Your first settlement will be randomly placed, probably on Paradisia which is a sweltering shithole even in the winter. After 24 hours you'll be able to place another domain wherever you want provided it's far enough away from an existing settlement and is on an appropriate tile. You'll want to look for access to wood (although some trees like jungle ferns and kapok trees don't produce any wood so don't let them get your hopes up), a rock formation like limestone, granite, or sandstone, and then maybe some plains or meadows to give you the option to farm. You can create up to 5 lords and have multiple domains so you can specialise your domains eventually. You're also welcome to send a lord to Ingerland to ask questions and talk with others in game.
Hamlet or religious foundation
Hamlet is usually a better option unless you want to roleplay as a monk. Foundations are useless unless they're upgraded to a priory and that upgrade requires a bishop or above to promote you so you'll need to ask around.

The continent you start on is random and in this case you're probably on Terra Occidentalis. Agriculture will be difficult for another month or so but you'll still be able to do a lot especially manufacturing since cold temperatures are preferable in that case.

Yes, you'll start with 0 resources. You can either convert tokens to money or you can use your starting workers to do things like cut down trees to sell or quarry some stone and sell then buy what you need to build things. Starting hamlets start with a building called a farm and you can send a worker there. To buy things needed to train a unit, click on the missing item and a pop up should appear that lets buy the item.
yeah train them on the relevant tile (the place they will be working. eg: a farmer you train on a farm, a miner you train in a mine)
you can also build a school and train units there in most jobs. this is particularly useful starting out as it sorts the jobs by how good the settler will be at them based on stats. You also need a school to upgrade your domain so its a good idea to build one as early as possible

You can check the entry of an item in the encyclopedia to see which skills are required for the production of it.
In general the relevant skills for a job are also the skills used in whatever automated task the job can do.

the compatibility% that shows up when you try to train a settler into something shows which job suits him best even though it's a bit inaccurate when it comes to certain things. There is also an excel sheet somewhere where you put a unit stats and it shows the best job for that settler,, I never used that sheet and don't have it though.

Snowfolk and Endor look to be the nearest big groups to you but I've never interacted with either of them as I'm on a different continent so idk if they will interact with you

if you don't know how too build roads then just click on the icon I have highlighted and stand on a suitable tile. when you get too the clay just click on the same tab and there should be the option too build a clay pit.

Conquer mechanic has a big flaw - if some units are alive and well (e.g. in distant domain) the management doesn't drop and can even be raised to 100% under the siege.
Also the loyalty mechanic is incredibly moronic and actually punishes you with slots wasted because it takes ages to make units/buildings loyal to your family.
The biggest limitation for war in this game is player time. Very few people will stay awake for 15+ hours to move a siege army to its target, attack walls, retreat cannons to recover, move cannons to attack, retreat to rest, and so on until they get the fortifications weak enough to throw soldiers at it. Most capitals and major cities would probably take over a day straight of constant attention to get anywhere close to winning.

I tried using gems before and my main issue then was that the local market for something like emeralds was small enough for me to distort the price with my purchasing/selling, which incurred losses.

These people are speed running the game with their quick progressions. It's no wonder they're complaining about everything. QUICK REMINDER, it's just a FREE jeton game. Free means no complaints, not even constructive criticism or feedback. Admin is already generous enough to provide free jeton spin per day instead of ZERO spins. You will spin after only 79,200 seconds.
Don't get me started with the deniers too. If each of those gold mines give 600 deniers each mining cycle (generously-speaking), by the time you become a count from running 948 cycles you would have already accumulated 568800 deniers. That's enough for founding a papacy, almost TWICE.
One big complaint, that I see way too often, is the jeton system. Suppose it takes you 1 second to rush a building, or 12 hours because you haven't bought lol+. After rushing the construction, you spend 25-26 minutes creating a post (all lies btw) trying to expose the flaws of this game on the discord, which I will argue against you until the end of time kiddo. The cycle continues indefinitely. Based on my calculations: 1 second to rush a builing multiplied by an average of 25.5 minutes of blatant lies from your message, multiplied AGAIN by 948 gold mining cycles is 20,886,336,000 seconds. That's 348,105,600 minutes. Plus, that was already assuming you had access to lol+. This will hinder us casual players, so I'm glad everything is time-gated. Anyway, the roulette recharges 1 per 22 hours, that means by the time you run 948 gold mining cycles from a single mine you will obtain AT LEAST:
- 1 county
- 172,000 jetons (given that spins give you 1000 denier each)
- 568800 deniers
That's enough deniers to last you your entire bloodline.

Depends on temperature, biome, and tree species but it will probably take weeks for the first stage to grow then months for it to grow to reach mature or ancient.

gray = mist/fog which is a mechanic that hides the tiles on new continents. Paradisia spawned with fog too but most of it is gone now. Verdantia is just a couple of weeks old. need to do the "explore" action (it's lol+ action) to remove the fog and be able to settle in it. The reason Admin added fog is to slow down settling on new continents.

Most players will help you if you are a new player, just write them a letter or visit them and chat if you see that they are online
You can also write tickets if you are keen on RP or ask the forum or a mod if you have a question about the game
Beware that the amount of time you can sink into this game if you want to is demonically high so try and auto as much shit as you can early

I think you always get big tokens on your first day. Generally about 800 a day or so is average. In the beginning, you should token house construction (more houses, more population, more builders, more houses). Late in the game you should stick to around 50k tokens, as that's the maximum safe amount, and if you go over it you lose a part of your tokens hourly

The easiest way to scam the moronic nu-market seems to be by doing the entire cannon production chain from the ground up, always using cheap metals and ores and abusing the bonus that a huge blast furnace gives.

Nah don't bother with quality in buildings. quality of buildings only matter in Keeps, walls and towers (for higher defensive stats) and some workshops like Armories/blacksmiths for higher quality products.

In the beginning, just build housing and don't worry so much about happiness. You will quickly hit the housing limit for a hamlet and need a temple and barn I think to upgrade to village. One of the first things you should build is a workshop and then specialize it in carpentry to train your settlers into carpenters. You will stop getting settlers if you have three that are sitting around untrained.

Isn't that because communication and travel is way too easy? Troops can be moved at will vast distances with no difficulty. Gameplay doesn't support divided feudal shitfest.
There was plenty of division in the original continents after the great fire, especially in Kaldor and Nessos. They got a bit more united after several months, but not 100%. Nowadays, the majority of a continent is loyal to one ruler in just a few weeks after the continent appears.
No, it's because continents are really far apart, so even if you wanted to raid some son-of-a-b***h on a neighbouring continent, your dudes would get wiped as soon as they set foot on shore.
I like the sinking continents mechanic, but the continents should be way bigger, spawn every nine months instead of three, and also spawn closer together like how volcanic island chains emerge.

I get the feeling that Admin wants each continent to be its own little arena, but in practice that is not what happens because fren groups settle in one location. Septa was really one big land mass because you could island hop your way to wherever you wanted to go in the world; no longer is this the case. Maybe landing craft or intermittently-emerging portals that permit instant travel between continents would promote conflict.

how do I know where to put my first settlement?
Your first settlement will be randomly placed, probably on Paradisia which is a sweltering shithole even in the winter. After 24 hours you'll be able to place another domain wherever you want provided it's far enough away from an existing settlement and is on an appropriate tile. You'll want to look for access to wood (although some trees like jungle ferns and kapok trees don't produce any wood so don't let them get your hopes up), a rock formation like limestone, granite, or sandstone, and then maybe some plains or meadows to give you the option to farm. You can create up to 5 lords and have multiple domains so you can specialise your domains eventually. You're also welcome to send a lord to Ingerland to ask questions and talk with others in game.
Hamlet is usually a better option unless you want to roleplay as a monk. Foundations are useless unless they're upgraded to a priory and that upgrade requires a bishop or above to promote you so you'll need to ask around.

The continent you start on is random and in this case you're probably on Terra Occidentalis. Agriculture will be difficult for another month or so but you'll still be able to do a lot especially manufacturing since cold temperatures are preferable in that case.

Yes, you'll start with 0 resources. You can either convert tokens to money or you can use your starting workers to do things like cut down trees to sell or quarry some stone and sell then buy what you need to build things. Starting hamlets start with a building called a farm and you can send a worker there. To buy things needed to train a unit, click on the missing item and a pop up should appear that lets buy the item.

yeah train them on the relevant tile (the place they will be working. eg: a farmer you train on a farm, a miner you train in a mine)
you can also build a school and train units there in most jobs. this is particularly useful starting out as it sorts the jobs by how good the settler will be at them based on stats. You also need a school to upgrade your domain so its a good idea to build one as early as possible

A unit having good stats/attributes relevant for a skill increases it's competency in said skill. (see the "skills" ledger for the info on this, although there is a much more readable table in the post I mentioned).

You can check the entry of an item in the encyclopedia to see which skills are required for the production of it.
In general the relevant skills for a job are also the skills used in whatever automated task the job can do.

the compatibility% that shows up when you try to train a settler into something shows which job suits him best even though it's a bit inaccurate when it comes to certain things. There is also an excel sheet somewhere where you put a unit stats and it shows the best job for that settler,, I never used that sheet and don't have it though.

Conquer mechanic has a big flaw - if some units are alive and well (e.g. in distant domain) the management doesn't drop and can even be raised to 100% under the siege.
Also the loyalty mechanic is incredibly moronic and actually punishes you with slots wasted because it takes ages to make units/buildings loyal to your family.
The biggest limitation for war in this game is player time. Very few people will stay awake for 15+ hours to move a siege army to its target, attack walls, retreat cannons to recover, move cannons to attack, retreat to rest, and so on until they get the fortifications weak enough to throw soldiers at it. Most capitals and major cities would probably take over a day straight of constant attention to get anywhere close to winning.

These people are speed running the game with their quick progressions. It's no wonder they're complaining about everything. QUICK REMINDER, it's just a FREE jeton game. Free means no complaints, not even constructive criticism or feedback. Admin is already generous enough to provide free jeton spin per day instead of ZERO spins. You will spin after only 79,200 seconds.
Don't get me started with the deniers too. If each of those gold mines give 600 deniers each mining cycle (generously-speaking), by the time you become a count from running 948 cycles you would have already accumulated 568800 deniers. That's enough for founding a papacy, almost TWICE.
One big complaint, that I see way too often, is the jeton system. Suppose it takes you 1 second to rush a building, or 12 hours because you haven't bought lol+. After rushing the construction, you spend 25-26 minutes creating a post (all lies btw) trying to expose the flaws of this game on the discord, which I will argue against you until the end of time kiddo. The cycle continues indefinitely. Based on my calculations: 1 second to rush a builing multiplied by an average of 25.5 minutes of blatant lies from your message, multiplied AGAIN by 948 gold mining cycles is 20,886,336,000 seconds. That's 348,105,600 minutes. Plus, that was already assuming you had access to lol+. This will hinder us casual players, so I'm glad everything is time-gated. Anyway, the roulette recharges 1 per 22 hours, that means by the time you run 948 gold mining cycles from a single mine you will obtain AT LEAST:
- 1 county
- 172,000 jetons (given that spins give you 1000 denier each)
- 568800 deniers
That's enough deniers to last you your entire bloodline.
I for one am enjoying the game so much. I've been collecting common, exquisite, and precious garbage every time I venture the barren Paradisia. once you create an account you immediately get an already built hamlet with houses, a farm and another production building. gray = mist/fog which is a mechanic that hides the tiles on new continents. Paradisia spawned with fog too but most of it is gone now. Verdantia is just a couple of weeks old. need to do the "explore" action (it's lol+ action) to remove the fog and be able to settle in it. The reason Admin added fog is to slow down settling on new continents.

Most players will help you if you are a new player, just write them a letter or visit them and chat if you see that they are online

I think you always get big tokens on your first day. Generally about 800 a day or so is average. In the beginning, you should token house construction (more houses, more population, more builders, more houses). Late in the game you should stick to around 50k tokens, as that's the maximum safe amount, and if you go over it you lose a part of your tokens hourly
not bad, i think you get about the same for making a school and a temple as a gift when you're a noob as well but after that you will experience jeton thirst

There are a lot of similar examples in lol5/6, the game was a fricking mess at one point before he reverted most of his moronic changes.

The easiest way to scam the moronic nu-market seems to be by doing the entire cannon production chain from the ground up, always using cheap metals and ores and abusing the bonus that a huge blast furnace gives.

newbie here, how to get more settlers? I only have two right now
Build more housing and/or make your population happier. Your migration is set by your current housing capacity time your happiness and if your current population is below this number then you'll receive a new settler.
In the beginning, just build housing and don't worry so much about happiness. You will quickly hit the housing limit for a hamlet and need a temple and barn I think to upgrade to village. One of the first things you should build is a workshop and then specialize it in carpentry to train your settlers into carpenters. You will stop getting settlers if you have three that are sitting around untrained.
Turn your historic estate into a LORDSHIP by building a CASTLE to bypass all the requirements like barns (lol) and temples (gay)

So, every continent since Endor (Endor, Paradisia, Verdantia) has one group that controls it. The ruling group in Paradisia changed as result of a war, but still, there is one group with undebatable control of the entire continent. Lands of Lords sure is an interesting societal experiment.
Isn't that because communication and travel is way too easy? Troops can be moved at will vast distances with no difficulty. Gameplay doesn't support divided feudal shitfest.
There was plenty of division in the original continents after the great fire, especially in Kaldor and Nessos. They got a bit more united after several months, but not 100%. Nowadays, the majority of a continent is loyal to one ruler in just a few weeks after the continent appears.
No, it's because continents are really far apart, so even if you wanted to raid some son-of-a-b***h on a neighbouring continent, your dudes would get wiped as soon as they set foot on shore.
I like the sinking continents mechanic, but the continents should be way bigger, spawn every nine months instead of three, and also spawn closer together like how volcanic island chains emerge.

I get the feeling that Admin wants each continent to be its own little arena, but in practice that is not what happens because fren groups settle in one location. Septa was really one big land mass because you could island hop your way to wherever you wanted to go in the world; no longer is this the case. Maybe landing craft or intermittently-emerging portals that permit instant travel between continents would promote conflict.
