>last reporting a few months ago had 89 million units sold
>new model releasing in a few days

Is it safe to assume the Switch is going to have sold 120 million units by January 2022?

I assume 115 million just becouse it's in its 5th year of life
Switch is in its 4th year
5th year
2017,2018,2019,2020,2021?
2017 - year 1 - 2018
2018 - year 2 - 2019
2019 - year 3 - 2020
2020 - year 4 - 2021
4 years, 7 months 3 days. Switch turns 5 in march 2022.
>120 million units by January 2022?
Too early. The Switch is not going to sell 30 million in a few months. It will probably reach the 100 million mark by then and sell 120 million consoles total by january 2023
Nah it will probably end it's life with 150 million sold.
You can't underestimate how much Pokemon is a system seller. Some people buy Nintendo consoles JUST for Pokemon games. A brand new open world one is releasing along with the two remakes.
Nah
i want the Steam Deck to be sucessfull and force nintendo to improve their hardware in a healty competition, but i don't have my hopes up
Steam Deck is going to sell 3 to 5 million tops. It's a completely different market.
Not even 1 million. Cap this post.
Unless Nintendo starts porting their games to it, I doubt it will be much of a competition for the switch
Yeah if anything it'll be huge competition for the PS5 and xbox.
Nintendo (and every other company) is constantly working on new hardware. Valve /Steam Deck will have zero impact on that. The Switch is 5 years old and selling well, they're not going to cut it short just to appease spec autists.

to people without obvious mental illnesses, why do Ganker Black folk ascribe themselves as some kind of tribe member of [company] or [product] for seemingly zero benefit? Is it rampant conzoomerism?
I can't speak for others anon but I own shares in Nintendo anon. So when it does well, I do well
>I own shares in Nintendo anon
that doesn't sound very intelligent
You fricking moronic? Nintendo has been around forever. It's as solid as putting your money into gold bricks.
if you just want to keep existing money an index fund would make more sense
Not really index funds arent a sure fire thing anon, they move with the market so last year when the market tanked you'd have gotten washed.(but then also recovered if your money manager wasn't an idiot)
Just don't take them out. The market rises every year. Wow so hard.
I bought my shares around this time anon. It's been a good investment
Post your portfolio or stfu
that makes sense, but I specifically said for seemingly zero benefit. If you are actually making gains on Nintendo then you're obviously doing something smart.
Well people are naturally tribalistic, I think this is probably alot better then being tribalistic about politics. That seems to drive people mad
I also own shares in Microsoft and Sony, so I win either way
we did it bros
Metroid is not a system seller.
Pokemon is. And there's two new Pokemon games releasing along with a brand new Switch model.
Can it outsell the DS?
I doubt it. The ds was much cheaper
Yes. It will likely finish #1 best selling console.
I doubt it, how long did it take for the PS2 to crack the 100 million mark?
It took the PS2 6 years to reach 100 million sold. Switch is doing it in 4.
Then I guess it depends if third-party developers continue to support it long after Nintendo moves on, unless Nintendo is crazy enough to keep the switch going till Sony and Microsoft reveal the new generation after PS5 and xboxX.
The PS2 was also a DVD player at the time when DVD players where really expensive anon
This is such a moronic zoomer meme. You could buy a DVD player for $80 at Walmart in 2001.
Yeah, absolute bottom of the barrel chinese knockoff brands
And for an extra $150 you could get a games console with it.
>A console with only 2 media apps is about to hit 100 mill
Never thought I'd see the day
