I'm good, I'm happy for everyone who is going to enjoy the new oled deck. I'll be playing mine for a few more years before I make the jump to the Steam Deck 2.
Without early adopting, the new version would not be here. Also, steam would not be continuing to make in roads and help gaming exist away from Windows.
So, I have plenty of money and can just give the old Steam Deck to one of my 4 sons and buy a new one for myself.
No, I wouldn't share pictures of my kids on this place. Old retired /misc/ shitposter just checking Ganker for the first time ever because people acted like you have news on stuff from time to time and i haven't been here in years.
Don't get mad at me because you don't have a father. If you weren't such a disappointment, you would be getting his hand down Steam Deck instead of crying about not being able to afford 2 versions of cheap pieces of tech on here.
I am heterosexual, i can't go to reddit.
Back to on topic. New version of Steam deck is great. Hopefully you guys buy them so we see more adoption of the platform and get Steam OS or more Linux gaming.
I primarily use mine docked, and am too paranoid about burn-in to comfortably use the OLED Deck if I did get one. I'm just gonna wait for the next major revision.
It's nice to bring it at sleepovers, while traveling, chilling at home while being away from my desk. There's certainly use cases for it even if you have a dedicated desktop PC that is more than capable of playing games
Playing in ed, playing in long car travel where I don't have to be the driver for the whole thing, or 2+ hour trains, also on my beach apartment it's way comfier than beinging a laptop+peripherials
Thanks for beta testing, morons. >Expecting Volvo to do something good when they can't keep their own servers from shitting themselves every tuesday
Also >Linux gaming
Lmaaooo, wake me up when a real company decides to make a real handheld with windows
Is this just a multiplayer piggy thing? I've been logged on Steam every day of the week for about 10 years straight now and I've never been bothered by maintenance.
>when they can't keep their own servers from shitting themselves every tuesday
???? the maintenance is planned though it's not shitting itself they are turning it off on purpose.
>It's planned
Yeah, like every service ever, the question is why the frick Volvo doesn't invest in backup servers so that the service doesn't go under during it
> My friend bought one and told me how good it is and how I should get one. > I said no because Ill wait for a better version to release. > He told me they arent going to release a better version.
hodl bro's stay winning
I'm about to order one for my mom since she can't really game otherwise, but I fear I'm going to want one when setting it up for her
they don't ship it where we live so I'm using my short travel elsewhere to get it, I'll have to decide beforehand but the order limit may cuck me
Can't wait for the OLED owners to find out that you can't download anything without the screen being on all the time. I just wish Volvo would improve their software before doing hardware revisions.
Itd be ridiculously hard to game so much on a handheld the burn in would be a problem before you move onto a new platform
And since its valves own OS they can tweak it endlessly to manage burn in prevention measures like pixel refresh
Pretty sure thats just a battery saving measure
burn in cares about volts being pushed through the display and manufacturers have to estimate how much each pixel has degrades and then match rest of the screen to that level
Windows is the only OS for gaming. Better for piracy. Easy direct .exe downloads. Better for game clients. Better for emulation... all the games can played online don't have to worry about no anti-cheat.
does that mean that the difference isn't that dramatic in real life and the blacks look suitably black on LCD and, sure, you can tell the difference, but you have to be some kind of autist to give a shit about a black not being black enough?
It's noticeable irl, but unless you're a videophile, compare the 2 side-by-side or you get used to an OLED and then go back to some shitty LCD you'll be fine with either tbh. Also not all LCD screens are the same. Newer LCD TV models have some technology to simulate OLED screens with more dimming zones and shit. They're still not as good as OLED ones, but at that point it's just nitpicking imo.
3.5.5 upgrade was great
With the last bios I don't even need a keyboard to reapply the fully stable -50mv undervolt.
I don't really play much heavy AAA stuff, so I'm good until the SD2 comes out.
Even with 6nm and the faster ram, it's not like you can squeeze much more out of the same APU.
Because they're reusing phone/tablet screens that are made by the billion.
Almost nobody buys monitors outside of businesses that don't give a shit about quality so they're too expensive to invest in compared to 6-12" phone/tablet screens and 65"+ TV screens.
What games do people play on the deck? Most of the non-demanding games I play are business sims or grand strategy games, and deck controls seems like shit for those.
>Purchased the LCD deck got it at the end of wave 1 >Kept me entertained for almost 2 years through 50+ plane flights >Bought oled switch and it's coming soon >Will sell my deck in norway for more than the original price i paid for
Tell me again why should I care?
Even if i sold it for half the initial price that's <1$ per day of owning it
Just waiting for my OLED to be delivered, then I'll sell my LCD on ebay and recoup some of the cost. Really enjoyed my time with my LCD, so the upgrade fee is definitely going to be worth it. The screen and battery life were by far the weakest points of the console. Can't wait for the Steam Deck 2.
Not good.
I'm good, I'm happy for everyone who is going to enjoy the new oled deck. I'll be playing mine for a few more years before I make the jump to the Steam Deck 2.
lcd is cheap
oled isnt
Which one is oled
The one that looks better.
both looks like shit to me
you are EPIC
Epic takedown by Ramesh
Great.

Seems like win win all around.
is that you're son in the picture

OP is trolling or has a very narrow vision.
Thanks for the blog post gramps.
I think they might have what you’re looking for over at www.reddit.com

Only people who don't play games want casuaLED. It's in the name.
Even the captcha knows.

>top soulless
>bottom soul
Why would anyone buy this if they already have a gaming PC?
And dont pretend like any of you ever leave your house
I don't own one but it's comfortable to play games while reclining in bed. I miss my ds
It's nice to bring it at sleepovers, while traveling, chilling at home while being away from my desk. There's certainly use cases for it even if you have a dedicated desktop PC that is more than capable of playing games
i got the gamer glasses so i don’t really mind. groove coaster looks really good on oled though

Shalom rabbi. You forgot your interracial porn picture with your post though.
Is this just a multiplayer piggy thing? I've been logged on Steam every day of the week for about 10 years straight now and I've never been bothered by maintenance.
I'm sure the money will be worth the effort you put into selling it, anon
I already have a job, though
>when they can't keep their own servers from shitting themselves every tuesday
???? the maintenance is planned though it's not shitting itself they are turning it off on purpose.
>It's planned
Yeah, like every service ever, the question is why the frick Volvo doesn't invest in backup servers so that the service doesn't go under during it
Because you keep using their services anyway.
I don't really care as long as the games keep working on it.
I'll get the deck 2 when it comes out
This kills the Volvo moron
>Attach Xbone to Phone
>Steam link it with gaming pc
>Leave pc on
>Go anywhere and play anywhere
that hand looks like it doesnt go anywhere homosexual
>huge input delay on top of awful input delay that phones have
No thanks.
Too bad your don't kill the gym. Look at those sausage fingers.
Put down the game and go lift some weights.
Yo this anon aight
who did u steal that from?
JAMAL YOU FRICKING-
Worst option. MGX or Backbone are better.
Hands up if you tried this once and never used it again.
>that notch
do iToddlers really???
>anime sticker on controller
>poor person blankets
>>poor person blankets
Elaborate on that
Hahaha nice butterfly blanket you fricking homo. Fat hands too.
Can't tell the difference

hodl bro's stay winning
I just ordered the OLED one, gonna give my old one to my nephew for christmas
how comes my LCD screen isn't glowing bright blue all the time
Because you didn't change the color temperature to 9000K and turn the brightness all the way up
I'm about to order one for my mom since she can't really game otherwise, but I fear I'm going to want one when setting it up for her
they don't ship it where we live so I'm using my short travel elsewhere to get it, I'll have to decide beforehand but the order limit may cuck me
enjoy your burn in 2 weeks from now
Can't wait for the OLED owners to find out that you can't download anything without the screen being on all the time. I just wish Volvo would improve their software before doing hardware revisions.
>you can't download anything without the screen being on all the time
Oh no, how will the screen ever endure being on for five minutes w(゚Д゚)w
Itd be ridiculously hard to game so much on a handheld the burn in would be a problem before you move onto a new platform
And since its valves own OS they can tweak it endlessly to manage burn in prevention measures like pixel refresh
The Deck already does that actually, refresh rate on Steam pages is lowered, not sure how low it goes though
Pretty sure thats just a battery saving measure
burn in cares about volts being pushed through the display and manufacturers have to estimate how much each pixel has degrades and then match rest of the screen to that level
I can't imagine playing on anything less than 8.8 inches... the Steam Deck is like an iPhone
I still dont get why valve is only one who goes "maybe we should make out product ergonomic and fit human hands"
>windows handheld
Windows is the only OS for gaming. Better for piracy. Easy direct .exe downloads. Better for game clients. Better for emulation... all the games can played online don't have to worry about no anti-cheat.
Not good for handhelds, sorry
I just don't like the ergo of the Legion Go compared to the Steam Deck. The edges on the controller are not comfy
>is that....the latest gadget?? I MUST consoom
Get a job communist
I have a job (and probably get paid more than you) I just don't have a dopamine deficiency that I try to fix with compulsive spending
I'll make sure to shed a tear in 10 years when these things are worth more than what I paid, on the secondary market
Why would you play your deck at a 70 degree angle?
Got 2 years out of it. Now I am getting an OLED upgrade. Will also be buying the Deck 2 in 2-3 years.
why can I see the differences between OLED and LCD on my LCD screen?
Because what you're seeing is the reproduction of a photograph that could capture the difference between both screens.
does that mean that the difference isn't that dramatic in real life and the blacks look suitably black on LCD and, sure, you can tell the difference, but you have to be some kind of autist to give a shit about a black not being black enough?
It's noticeable irl, but unless you're a videophile, compare the 2 side-by-side or you get used to an OLED and then go back to some shitty LCD you'll be fine with either tbh. They're still not as good as OLED ones, but at that point it's just nitpicking imo.
I'll get the OLED sometime next year. I use my Deck basically daily still but I'm not in a hurry to upgrade
what do you use it for, legit question
3.5.5 upgrade was great
With the last bios I don't even need a keyboard to reapply the fully stable -50mv undervolt.
I don't really play much heavy AAA stuff, so I'm good until the SD2 comes out.
Even with 6nm and the faster ram, it's not like you can squeeze much more out of the same APU.
how come the deck and switch can get OLED screens with no price change but I still can't buy a 1080p oled monitor?
Because they're reusing phone/tablet screens that are made by the billion.
Almost nobody buys monitors outside of businesses that don't give a shit about quality so they're too expensive to invest in compared to 6-12" phone/tablet screens and 65"+ TV screens.
What games do people play on the deck? Most of the non-demanding games I play are business sims or grand strategy games, and deck controls seems like shit for those.
Indies (platformers, metroidvanias, boomer shooters, etc.), JRPGs and old console games.
Project Zomboid is very comfy on the deck .
Selling my 512gb to a friend for $400 and getting the 1tb
>Purchased the LCD deck got it at the end of wave 1
>Kept me entertained for almost 2 years through 50+ plane flights
>Bought oled switch and it's coming soon
>Will sell my deck in norway for more than the original price i paid for

Even if i sold it for half the initial price that's <1$ per day of owning it
i stole mine from someones doorstep at 3am in a completely different town than mine
give it back Jamal
my name is eric
Still better than anyone who gave money to the Smach Z campaign
Its over
good
enjoy pwm eyecancer and burnin in a year
