The vast majority of non-Nintendo veteran game developers have been fired, cancelled, or otherwise separated from the franchises and companies that they helped shape with their own hands. Maybe he didn't necessarily say this, but it certainly seems like the costs of AAA game development takes its toll on the industry as a whole and not just the bottom line at retail.
