Linear games were much better than open world games and I'm tired of pretending they weren't.

ltg doesnt talk that much like a Black person
>open world
>nothing to do besides the linear portion of the game
nah. a linear game with an open world area offers at least a measure of comfortable freedom that linear games can't offer.
what kind of freedom does the open world offer ? Tell me how does open world influence a game for the better? Explain that freedom to me.
Lets take MGSV for an exampple.
In previous games you had open ended approach for the certain set of missions or levels.
In mgsV you need to waste time , go from point a to point be b, waste time, go from point a to point be and only THEN you are offered an open ended approach to a mission. Lets say you remove the open world from mgsV and instead of traveling to a place on the map in an empty wasteland with nothing in it, you just teleport there and to a mission. What would be lost?
I want to learn how to talk shit like him
start writing fanfiction

Go back, op.

You posted a Black person.
Until linear turned into literal straight line hallway in the 7th generation of consoles. I'll take today's open world games over splinter cell conviction, hit man absolution, FF13 etc

LTG is based
This is something that could only happen in America
If I wanted to watch a movie I'd watch a movie
Different strokes, my guy.
I enjoy games because of the characters I play as and it does matter to me what order I do things in because I want the game to feel fresh. I have rarely been impressed by a linear game's story or the levels I go through, and if I am, it being linear wasn't by any means what made it good to begin with.
>le oben world :DDDDD
When will this shitty trend die? It makes hallway sim shit like FF 13 look like a masterpiece compared to most of the shit that comes out these days
>were
Are, when they aren't cinematic AAA horseshit that locks you into a single pathway forwards or backwards. A game like Tormented Souls borrows from old school survival horror and you can at least get a little lost finding the path forwards by having to explore a little bit backwards, that's the good linear shit. Always a direct way forward, it's just not blindingly obvious or piss fricking easy.
Fun fact: I once drove LTG to a tournament in LA.
He's just as salty in person as he is online
They still are better because open world is getting far worse when the map is filled with the same shit over and over again
