Why even pretend this shit is an "RPG". Do normalgays see this shit and think "Woah, I can make le epic builds like in other RPG's I'm too moronic to actually do"
ngl the builds actually do matter in GoW4, you get extra perks for having X amount of each stat too.
You can play a more tanky build where you can take more damage and do more damage with your base attacks, or a more technical build where you can use your special moves more often and do more damage with them but you take more damage.
Obviously not on the level of a high tier RPG but there are builds for differing playstyles, which you just swap gear out to create them.
I think people miss stylized UI more than anything, it doesn't help that modern UI are also designed first and foremost for being navigated with controllers.
>being navigated with controllers.
Kind of irony that in a lot of games now you have a mouse look UI cursor on a controller, like modern ubisoft games all have it.
Personally I prefer a more functioning UI rather than stylized, I want it to be simple and informative so that I can in and out fast.
GoW4 UI is OK, a good example of simple.
Ngl, probably the best UI I can think of, especially that you can pick up and drop items directly into your inventory.
The hyperlinked journal was god tier too, no quest markers or shit like that.
Frick knows why TES had to then become so souless.
I avoided playing P5 for the longest time because I thought the UI was hideous. I liked the UI when I actually played the game, but the screenshots I'd seen of it made it look like an annoying mess.
The same reason they shoved in RPG mechanics in the game in the first place: Creative bankruptcy.
Because they are pajeets and unskilled late millennials/early zoomers who were introduced to technology through phones
To make sure I won't buy it.

they just copy the work of other releases without knowing why it is the way it is. its literally an entire industry based on stealing from each other
Copy paste ui. They don't know how to do anything else.
Because "devs" are pajeets whose degrees consisted of coding phone games.
this is probably the most soulless menu ever created
devs don't deserve to eat
that's bad
no sirs please dont make my life feel like a lie
Shit UI aside, is this game actually decent?
im playing it right now, and the gameplay is okay. i wouldn't pay for it though.
Thanks, I'll give it a pirate.
give me an example of a good UI

That's so fricking bad
That's so fricking great
>make menu super simplified and sterile for clarity
>have 500 fricking menus spread about in an unintuitive layout
actually soulless UI
people got paid to make this
the only way to know this is from God of war and not annual ubisoft shovelware is because Kratos is there.
Modern gamers refuse to play games if there's no way to make numbers go up
