Honestly they are right. Cross server play was abobawdely the one mistake that killed world of warcraft. They could have come back from plenty of bad design choices but killing the concept of individual servers was the real death blow.
The only time this game had a human blockade that actually blocked players was when bots invaded that one server so much it hit the player cap in a zone.
