Was about to try shadow of war then I see that theres a black npc so I dropped. Shit's ridiculous and I aint even racist
There's more ridiculous things going on in that game than le black man.
Isn't he a southerling? What's the problem?
Yeah, as
said, a non-white in that game is the least of its problems, because at least there's a real in-lore reason for him to be there.
The overt magical bullshit and that fricking Shelob are far worse desecrations of canon, but even they, I think, will pale in comparison to what Amazon will shit out.
I don't believe the show will be anywhere near as good as the movies, but black actors won't be the reason. One glaring thing i saw was making galadriel a warrior when she is explicitly an enchanter and much closer to a wizard in skillset
Return of the King
Third Age was cool but I never got to finish it. The CD I got from Blockbuster was scuffed, and then the second one as well. It kept freezing at a particular spot. Might be worth emulating.
Return of the king is goat
How is LOTR online? Or is it dated and dead?
They're still updating it, but the story reached the climax a while ago
Always rented Return of the King with my brother and we fricking sucked at it.
I wish Third age was on PC, it's such a comfy ffx clone
can you not emulate it? also
>fight oliphants on pelanor fields
>win
>suddenly transported to barad dur and start whacking at the eye of sauron
this blew my kid brain back in the day
Not him but I doubt that there isn't an emulator for it. PS2 games are common as frick
Boromir is my favorite lotr character and Battle for Middle Earth 2 is my favorite lotr game.
>fave game
Third Age is pure early 2000s jank. Fond memories. I remember Two Towers being pretty good as well.
>dream game
LotR should not be adapted in this day and age. My dream adaptation is one that comes after we're past the diversity worship.
>will Gollum suck
It's VR shit, of course it'll suck.
>fave character
Eärendil is the baddest motherfricker to have ever lived.
>fave piece of lore
In a very, very, very distant way the marriage between Aragorn and Arwen was incestuous. Also, they're both part angel, and so will their kids be. Always thought that was funny.
>will the new tv show be shit
What do you think? Though I'll never find out, as I won't watch it beyond whatever ends up making its way here in webm form.
i've only played half of those, and i'd have to say i like third age the best, though return of the king is close
War in The North and Conquest are pretty good.
Dream game would be something like the Witcher 3 but with the atmosphere of the open area’s in The Third Age game. I want it to be inside Peter Jackson’s universe and there should be NO magic in it.
I loved that Return of the King game on PS2. My bro and I would play the shit out of it with the Southern Gate mission.
Basedalf main here

I think the 2 towers game was more fun to play.
my favorite piece of lore was from the end of the silmarillion where they casually just reveal gandalf had the great elven ring of fire the whole fricking time
comfy co-op hack and slash. Used to love playing this with my friends and I'm glad I got it on steam before it was delisted.
I can't even name a studio I would trust to make a Lord of the Rings game. They would butcher it even if they genuinely tried to make it good and lore friendly. The problem is that (amongst other things) is that is would be too difficult to write.
I guess if I had to pick something it would be an adaption of a MERP tabletop campaign. Think oldschool RPG like Baldur's Gate, but better written and more conservative.
I'm going to play War in the North!
on the playstation 3
Two Towers and Return of the King on the GBA were fun Diablo-clones
This one is the only LOTR game I've played.
It didn't license the likness of the actors from the films but it had Tom Bombadil.
This game scared me so much when I was younger. Dunno why but even now it makes me uncomfortable
Oh man, they're still making that dwarf survival game stuck on the epic store aren't they?
>fav game
Third Age
>dream game
Something like Third Age, but set during the first age, maybe make it about Tûrin
>will Gollum suck
Yes.
>fav character
Glorfindel. He's an absolute giga chad
>fav piece of lore
The black sword Anglachel, later renamed to Gurthang. It drank the blood of it's enemies and seemed to have a will of it's own.
Either this one or the fact that sex with an elf is so pleasurable, the average human can't handle it would probably die during it.
Is it even possible to make a new LOTR game that is not based off the movies? It seems like the designs made for the trilogy will be forever the only ones that people will recognize as “lotr”.
The Hobbit is a cursed game
Why? It's my second favorite LOTR game.
It's super fun and at times was extremely close to how I imagined the scenery when I was reading the book. Everything Smaug related was basically how I imagined it. They devs clearly loved the source and you can feel that they loved making the game.
Can't recommend this game enough.
I really wish he didn't give up writing The New Shadow, outline for it seemed neat, but I understand why he didn't want to.
>> fave game
The total war mod, hands down
>> dream game
The same mod, but for Warhammer total war
>> will the tv show suck
Of course
