Honestly not sure. I watched a video that says you need to use the castle planner but not actually build it. Then you build your town like normal inside the walls and then you can build the walls around it all when you're ready. Something like that. I'm installing right now so I'll try it
absolutely not, all the reviews have the same issue of there's no mid game, you start to dip into combat with bandits but none of the big selling points of like kingdom management, neighbouring wars, big overland armies, etc are in the game

>You won't do irreparable damage if you do this, but it will mess with your building system. While it may look like a simple stone wall, it isn't, which is what can confuse the game's layered building system. This means if you cover your village with them, it could cause you a bad headache in the future if you want to build around it.
you risk messing up your town planning if you use them apparently
Far from it. The dev is a lying scammer unfortunately. No idea how it supposedly took him over half a decade to make this. It should have been 1.0 by now.
I hate you fricks who think a solo dev project like this should have been done earlier when absolutely anyone who has ever had a job and worked can understand the amount of work that went into this.
If it's so easy do it yourself
>Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access? >“We might remain in Early Access for around a year, but that might change depending on how the design develops with player feedback.”
the words of the dev but in reality this build feels like an early alpha test
I'm broke atm and I doubt there's already a crack out but how is the game, Ganker? It's been on my wishlist for years and I'm gonna buy when my wallet is a little bigger.
Nobody cares about you or your situation. You don't get good goy points here. If you wanna try it it's been up on Usenet and poor peoples republic of torrent.
>and it is already better than 90% of aaa games and one of the best city builders of all time
It's actually not.
I played like 7 hours and i can rant forver about how moronic this game is.
my dear youngling, I played them all. The first Sim City, Settlers, Caesar, Pharao, Anno, to Skylines, Banished, Farthest Frontier. Manor Lords is the comfiest, and that is my personal most important measurement.
I'm enjoying it, although it feels like I'm missing something around the Tier 3 houses area. I'm either broke, out of food, or a combination of both.
I tried focusing on two mines, got the infinite mine tech, but my exports of roof tiles collapsed the market and now they're worth shit. So I'm sitting on like 200 with no regional wealth. Iron production is picking up but I need to get some more money together to open up a trade route and start exporting iron goods.
Farming feels lackluster compared to berry picking, which can't be right. And also for some reason my plank production goes in the shitter, I'm trying to alleviate that with more oxen and people working the store houses, but idk just feels like something hasn't quite "clicked" for me yet. Does any of that make sense or am I rambling homosexual?
It's fun, but ridiculously far from done. Hasn't this slav homosexual been working on this for like 7 years now? Sure doesn't seem like it, it barely has any content.
This is what I'm seeing, doesn't look like it has a whole lot more than the demo so I guess I'll wait a while before getting it.
It's fun, but ridiculously far from done. Hasn't this slav homosexual been working on this for like 7 years now? Sure doesn't seem like it, it barely has any content.
I think there's something people take for granted like building a building piece by piece
It's fun, but ridiculously far from done. Hasn't this slav homosexual been working on this for like 7 years now? Sure doesn't seem like it, it barely has any content.
I just hope he finalizes the UI at some point and stops fricking with it. The latest patch somehow removed the slider that lets you determine how much you export.
probably not, it sounds like it leans towards the more survival end of the spectrum when it comes to city building so it's comfy combined with bandits raiding your village and eventually battles/wars
better starting point than banished though at least
I'm unironically excited at the possibility of mods. Do you think there'll be enough players and interests for mods? More maps, settings, unique buildings, etc.
Could you imagine a desert village like in Anno 1404?
I remember seeing the art for this game and really hoping it would be a comfy medieval world to roam around in, was pretty disappointed to find it’s a city builder
It's a game with an immense amount of potential. But if this is all the progress that has been made on it after all these years, I'm not sure why it wasn't already in early access a year or two ago. And I'm also a bit pessimistic and skeptical that he won't just take the money and abandon it because there's a lot of ambition behind the game's ideas and it clearly needs a lot of work to still get there. It is sadly giving me Bannerlord vibes, in that they have promised a lot but currently have underdelivered. Not sure I have faith that they will actually follow through.
shit's basically like the early stages of Prison Architect, lots of potential but most likely going to take like 10 years to reach 1.0 and the final result will be shit
>Buy a second ox >Oh shit I need a better hitching post >Put ALL construction on pause >They refuse to bring timber to the saw pit to make planks to upgrade >Ox runs away
I fricking hate these little c**ts
Watch the dev take his millions from early access paypigs yet never use that money to hire a handful of people to help flesh out the game. Manor Cucks lost.
Give it a day or two and it will be mixed. Reality needs to set in first that there's not much here to sink time into and for people to realize the dev is probably taking the money and running instead of finishing it.
Lets have a moment of silence for all the moronic sheep who bought early access unfinished mess that will never be finished now that SINGLE GUY that worked on the game is swimming in money and will enjoy the pleasures of cocaine and fricking hookers on Ibiza
Outsourcing everything to jeets who work for peanuts of course, why put effort into your shit where there are droves of addicted monkeys that will pre-purchase your jeet slop
The modern world runs on like 10 different layers of parasitism for any project that can't be done by a few self employed people. A good two-thirds of jobs are straight up worthless and serve no purpose.
>work as a local beraucrat for the healthdepartment and tardwrangle three medical officerd and their lackeys. >covid buckbroke anf mindraped the normies so hard, that we have a rolling measels and whooping cough epidemic. >vaccines are le bad because tiktok grifter #2370 said so, also buy my pigshit remedy.
Yes, most modern jobs are about dealing with bullshit. No wonder people in the past burned red haired women, black cats and thought a vampire illuminati controlled the world.
juggling workers is supposed to be part of the gameplay, which is pretty dumb given most city/colony management games usually give you a way to automate those priorities
unnecessary micromanagement is bad, this isn't starcraft 2
worst part is that it's not enough micromanagement that you can address the stupid stockpile issues the game has >there's no room for ____
there fricking is you moronic peasant
I think the gimmick of being able to walk through your town is neat. Imagine if stronghold had such a feature. Otherwise, it's the difference in locations where stronghold is bri'ish and Manor lords is East Europe.
It's not an RTS, it's an authentic city builder. The point is the dev is a hisautist and wanted it to be as true to life as possible. Combat exists, but is neither a priority nor the point. You do need an army against bandits and rivals, but that's because the real life feudal world was cutthroat and people would come and loot and burn your city if they could.
the article really proves the opposite. If it was commonplace and not unusual, it wouldn't have been news worth reporting as an event that caused gender stereotypes to crash down.
Women chopped lumber all the time, everyone had to. Constantly. You did it or you would starve to death, or freeze to death. This was commonly done by both sexes from as soon as we learned how to make fire until we invented climate control, and rural places without it still have men AND women chopping firewood today. It has never been a gender specific role, the poorer the group, the less gender defined roles there are in general.
Only males, unfortunately. The dev will be canceled because some fricker will find a single instance where women went to war and piss and shit itself until it hits him. It's over, bros
No. there's one guy who's has been having an absolute fricking meltdown on /vst/ over this game for the past few weeks. It's really obvious on that board because it's so slow, but a lot of the posts here are obviously him.
It's okay, definitely needs to fill out fast. Probably faster than is possible. Who knows how long it'll be early access for and whether it'll end up finished
>have a good idea >kickstarter for funds >take funds to hire subcontractors who will make the game for you >put the game on sale >you are now a millionaire
sadly what happens is :
>have a good idea >kickstarter for funds >run away with fund money
or
>have a good idea >kickstarter for funds >hire pajeets to try and minmax gains >you've now entered subcontrator hell spiral >by the time you've learned your lesson funds dried gg wp no re
Played it for an hour so far. Honestly, it doesn't seem like there's that much more content than there was in the demo so far. It's alright, but I do hope it gets more interesting, or that there are some hidden buildings that just don't show up yet.
Yeah. I don't get the hype. Its a fine little city builder, but like 5 of these supply chain-based city games pop up on Steam a week these days. I don't get why this one is special.
Farthest frontier is much more fleshed out but has performance issues late game. I also dislike the area of influence buildings like many others. Updates to farthest frontier are quite frequent.
>Finally manage to race the AI to have 3 regions under my control before they steal anything >AI sends wave upon wave of brigands at me and burn all my shit to the ground
The combat is the worst part of the game because you have frick all and they have everything.
He's right though, there's a reason City Builder games almost always let you get the basic starer building without needing resource investment... because otherwise you can get stuck in a position where you can't progress.'
Anno, Against the Storm, Emperor, Ceasar, Zeus, they all have essentially free logging camps.
for the most part lack of depth. take another look in a year. you'll just blueball yourself from the cozy and pretty gameplay you get in the first couple hours that ultimately leads to nowhere
surely this large infusion of money will help the development of the game and make it even better once it releases, right? I JUST can't imagine the developer will take the money and bail
>i can't believe i bought an early access title what a waste of money.
I finally broke my "Never buying EA" pledge with Against the Storm, and that was pretty great, but I've never played it once at release because I played it enough during EA.
Putting this one off seems like the right call. Strange to think that every fricking YouTuber was shilling it though.
wow this game is crap, no resources because my building was destroyed and cant rebuild it. army doesnt work, glitched out in the field while the AI floods a fricking moronic amount of guys at me. every AI concentrating me. massive CTDs
I can't even progress the game because I get fricking doomstacks within an hour destroying everything and once my woodcutter camp is going its literally over. This is stupid I'm returning it.
Man after playing for 3 hours I have to say this is just tedious. There's way too much micro involved to the point that you have to individually manage every citizen. This is fine in the beginning but as the game progresses it's an absolute nightmare.
My only gripe is that the default scenario is honestly too hard.
Other than that it's an honestly really polished village builder with actually good battles.
I'm about to end year 2. 96 days until the homosexual comes and wrecks my shit. For how much work needs done around the village I wish you get faster villager arrival. My economy is in pretty good shape however.
Kinda? It depends on how much you can put up with a obviously unfinished game. There's plenty of obvious missing features but the core gameplay is solid for a city builder. There's some obvious jank with the way layouts are handled, especially with burrages. Have yet to do any real battles yet.
the bandit raid is not much of a problem if you just get your retinue.
Not the bandit raid, the actual rival Baron has a count down of 365 days until he raids and he has 3 full stacks.
200 of the enemy soldiers rushed me at the end of year 2 and I had like 50 soldiers absolute max (only 40 that I had weapons for). I'm guessing I wasn't supposed to declare war on him when he claimed some territory near me but it was bullshit.
It's kind of insane how accurate this has become in most discourse around early access games anymore. Even well thought out criticisms are met with autistic meltdowns about early access status.
Trying to talk about a new game on Ganker is a terrible experience. You can't have a sane, rational, thoughtful discussion without some moron barging in screaming about shilling, some political bullshit, censorship, and who the frick knows what else.
Unicorn Overlord had fantastic threads until the furshit menace. It's still got decent threads half the time- I'm actually shocked they're still going. Pleasant surprise.
I don't remember people losing their mind over banished being a comfy (if simple) citybuilder back when it came out. Ganker has gotten more schizo year after year.
People lost their mind because Banished was released 30% finished, suffered from unavoidable losing condition where your entire village just gives up and die, and was never touched again by the devs.
>suffered from unavoidable losing condition where your entire village just gives up and die
no anon, you are just moronic and have no problem solving skills.
Skill had nothing to do with it. I don't quite remember what happened, but it was something like villagers refusing to fetch food to their homes or refuse to reproduce.

I know exactly what the problem is. You were too stupid to figure it out. lol.
I've worked out how to beat the AI.
Basically all you gotta do is rush your retinue and then farm bandit camps whenever they come up using your retinue and your starting spear militia.
Take the gold for yourself and use it to hire mercs when you need them.
That's literally it.
The battles are really good for how little emphasis combat has. It seems like a waste. I hope in the future we get to build proper castles and hold out in large sieges + siege other people's castles.
It will also be interesting to see what the modding community does with this.
Build up influence through the food tax or from shutting down bandit camps. Then make a claim on the map.
Or defeat the enemy when they try to claim part of the map.
Game is fun but yeah it's bare bones. I really hope mods are added. The third person mode where you can walk around your town would be perfect for porn mods.
Yes. Imagine walking into a farm and bending some thicc peasant lass over a fence, pulling her dress up, and railing her right there while an Ox watches.
What the other anon said. It's got a good base to become an awesome game someday, but with the way Youtubers have been sucking this thing off as the single greatest game ever made, it is shockingly barebones and basic. It has easily less than half the promised content and a lot of features are just greyed out as "not available in early access" (like more than half the upgrade tree for example, as well as things like building walls and castles, horses/cavalry units, pretty much the entire political system, all the management systems like taxation and decrees, etc)
game "journalism" is just number reporting now so it's a self perpetuating loop of free advertising and hype >look at how many numbers people wishlisted manor lord!
Helldivers is a dead, stale flavor of the month from nearly 3 months ago. Nobody is playing that boring broken garbage anymore, despite what the nonstop, troony infested shill general threads here would try and have you believe. That game has less variety and content than this shit even, and is somehow still half as polished to boot.
Tested on both normal and hard, by the time you had your first raid with Brigands with their 36+ men, if you survived that.
then within a year baron immediately claim your territory, with their 250 men. its impossible to win no matter what
and archers is prob the most useless unit in the game, i have had archers shoot 7 volleys of arrows into Brigands, and none of them dies, most of them dont even have a shield. they just charge straight into my archers and inflicts 20 casualties
also a note on mention for bandits stealing, they can steal your stuff, when they are in the far corner of the map, not even anywhere close, quite immersion breaking and there's nothing you can do about it
i restarted like 5 times, even with a ton of resources, still wasn't able to get that much army out in time, i only had like 70 men by the time the forced battle start. and if you ignore the claim its instant game over, they dont even come to ur territory to attack. imo you should be defending in your territory and not sally forth all the time
its a silly that we are forced to go to a designated location to agree for a fight
also walls and edit mode on castle, if you put wall around your village, all of your eco buildings become unselectable , as they become part of the Manor, and if you press commit changes after you made some changes, when the brigands are here, they can run past walls and you can't garrison any units on towers
game is good but because of the baron claim thing its unplayable your guaranteed to lose, unless you play on the lowest difficult with baron claim disabled.
Have your archers fire volleys, then intercept the brigands with spearmen. Them maneuver archers behind the brigands and they will destroy them. But yeah, the 200 man baron army was ridiculous. I'm gonna try again tomorrow and not declare war on him when he does that.
In my current game I have every territory except for 2.
You literally just have to buy mercs, kill bandit camps to get early money. It's not actually hard.
>I-it's a scam for polish game dev grants >I-it's all CGI footage >I-it's never coming out >I-it's getting abandoned straight away
what's it gonna be next
who cares about the EA label? When you buy a game you should buy it for the content currently in it. I bought tarkov and zomboid as complete games and I've gotten more than my money's worth
The invasion mechanic is brutal. Black folk are on my doorstep now with a merc army that has 3x as many people as I have villagers. I have 0 dollars since I haven't unlocked a manor house yet so I can't buy mercs.
How am I supposed to feed these frickers? Almost all my houses are producing eggs or veggies but there's almost no surplus. I can't produce enough wheat in a single county to make enough bread for them. There's only 1 hunt and that means meat disappears instantly. My berries only last 2 months in Spring and then disappear and I can't make dyes from them. I'm basically buying in everything with my trade and tax revenue.
I wish there were some more little cosmetic space fillers, like maybe flower gardens or something. Having all these tiny rectangular green patches in between all my roads is aggravating my autism.
>play almost through the end of the first summer >still with 5 families
I dont remember being this hard to the ball rolling on the beta, even with the slider for dificulty to please on hardest
My problem seems to be with the aproval on challenging dificulty, which im pretty sure I played on it in the beta with no problems.
My houses were constantly getting low approval warnings and I could never go past 50% approval rating, which is necessary for people to move in, despite having all their needs covered.
It actually makes feel like if this was one of those old school troll anti piracy where the devs makes the game impossible to beat.
There is a greater chance that the game will bug out and will not remove crop textures when a field is left fallow. Also, if you rotate them incorrectly your peasants will spend a lot more time traveling to the outfields in certain years, which means less chance of avoiding crop damage due to rain. On the other hand, for fields close to the farmhouse it reduces that risk.
Is there any other comfy city builder? I was looking at Banished but apparently is extremely hard? I don't mind difficulty but I don't like games that are purposefully built to stress you out like Frostpunk or Darkest Dungeon.
I just want to plan cities, trade/resource routes, manage food and resources, be comfy in general. I don't mind battles as long as it isn't the main focus.
I don't think Banished is really that hard. It has a slight learning curve, but once you make it past the early game struggles for food and such, it's a breeze. I found it relaxing personally and had a lot of fun with it. You might want to check out Anno 1800.
Anno 1800 is a game where honestly all the DLC can be too much game. You have like 5 completely separate maps to manage at a time and two is already taxing enough.
You'll easily get more than 2 hours out of it. But it is definitely nowhere near finished and probably has half the content and depth that it will whenever it is finished. It's fun now for sure, but easily skipped until later if that sounds like a raw deal.
Currently at about 8 hours on my first manor. Only have 1 region claimed, 50 families. Haven't gotten anyone to Tier 3 because my people are starving so I'd say it 's not a small game.
As an indie city builder its way better than most of the other indie crap that gets put out there, especialy for a solo dev, and there is more than 2 hours of content, especialy if you like city builders and dig the late 14th century aesthetics.
The game has the potential to punch up with force, but unless you can see in the future, we cant tell if the dev will deliver or not.
Lot of fricking morons in here crying that the game isnt crusader kings 4 or whatever.
Sorry uninformed moron but this game was never going to be some military larp for your fat armchair general ass.
Its a comfy city builder first and foremost.
Try educating yourself next time
Guys, please, tell me how you make tavern work with fricking low fertility.
I feel like i softlocked now since can't upgrade t3 and i just tired with rebuilding all those burning buildings.
kek, I JUST realized theres like little plus signs when you're using the fertility view, I was too zoomed out and didn't understand if red was less fertile or more fertile cause it looks like a heatmap and usually red = more concentration of something
When you press C (I think it was C) to open the construction menu, there's a list of white text without background on the right side of the screen that lets you see underground water, fertility for different types of crops, smell-o-vision and fire risk
One year in and I've got like 15 families and that baron fricker shows up with like 90 troops saying hell attack in another year. Yeah nah guess I'm making a new save with that shit turned off.
from a steam review
POSTED: 27 APRIL
Enemy AI uses a multiplier to consistently be ahead of the player. This is a mechanic that ruins EVERY game it's utilized in by making strategy and initiative trivial.
It's a cope.
The AI is off map. It's not even playing the same game as you.
But the idea that it's going to be stronger than you no matter what is indeed a cope. My AI is begging for peace because I keep wiping him out.
heard the game's ingame tree policy and some other are still 50% lock? is it true?
so it's basically not finish and dlc starve? I was hoping it's all unlock after seeing some earlier preview gameplay
It honestly looks exactly as unfinished as I saw it for over a year ago, I don't know what the frick this lazy slav has been doing all this time. Probably fell into the good old trap of redesigning systems constantly
Yes. It has been heavily shilled by multiple major Youtubers and streamers the last few weeks. I already enjoyed the demo a year or so ago and had an interest, but there's no way this is organic interest for such a niche genre.
Obviously the dev and publisher. The influencers aren't shilling it for free you fricking moron.

have you looked up the dev? have you looked up the publisher? Think spergy where the flying FRICK would they get the kind of money to pay off big influencers? You know how much money a c**t like asmongold makes? Hooded horse the publisher doesn't have a single big game or even cult hit game under their belt they have no presence or influence.

ah so this is how it will be forever now, any game that gets any traction we must hate and any positive news that comes out about it is a shill campaign. Just grindin away dismissing everything till another tortanic then we can all jerk off about how right we are when we call every 1/100 games to be a flop. simply epic. >waaaa normies only play 3 slop genres >waaaaa AAA devs are all cucked
An indie dev makes a medieval city builder and finds success >waaaaaaa its a shill campaign

it's easier to shit on things than it is to let your walls down and talk about what you like
lonely losers who need easy wins gravitate towards shitting on everything because it's an easy way for them to feel better.
this website fosters this and always has.

maybe its always been this bad but I remember people being supportive of banished when it come out. This is where I learnt about it and its one of my favourite games.

The game has had consistent and organic interest. If you're not getting paid to spam these threads that's just pathetic.
according to the game's own help section, when you are 50% or above and at low population growth you'll attract one family per month. But I found it only works if you also begin the next month above the threshold. I had old homelessness still effecting the following month bringing me down below 50 even though I ended the previous month in the 50s. Once the homelessness number diminished and I had a church and multiple types of food, I did indeed get one family a month so long as I had enough vacant houses
I just played for 5 hours, game is ok.
made the mistake of thinking sheep would produce meat at some point so heavily invested in livestock (because fertility was shit) basically hit a brick wall where couldn't produce any food.
the AI had taken over the entire map by this point because I had only just produced 1000 influence, however that works, not sure how AI produces 6000 in the time I produced 1000.
also took me way too long to figure out the houses produce a lot of the important stuff and surplus food like eggs and vegetables.
I wanna do another run knowing what I know now but I'm not sure how much more there actually is to the game, if I did everything right I think I'd just have more of the same stuff I had in my failed game.
feels like it's missing something. really reminds me of banished on release where I just kinda felt "ok, what now" after a few hours.
>buying early access
Might aswell donate to a patreon
In this case in particular its even worse >dont say what his plans are >dont promise any feature >dont provide any time frame
Dude cashed in and will never touch this game again
>delayed 3 years >has less content than Banished
Yeah, I figured. I resisted and did not buy it because after watching the media blitz with streamers it seems very barebones when you get past the 'heckin no grid!' wow factor
How is the simulation side of things?
Words cannot describe how much I desire a medieval city builder which attempts to simulate a city rather than focusing on survival like banished or production queues like the impressions/anno games.
I played for 10 hours and did everything that can be done
Main town has 300 pop every plot has 2 houses and extra production many of them with apple otchard maxxing and the rest with chickens and 2 size 3 rye farms (vegtable farms are slow and the yield depends on the plot size chickens lay the same amount of eggs non matter the plot size)
90% of houses upgraded to lvl 3 and I have maxed out every workplace including storage and trading post I have 3200 gold and 300 in personal gold (raising taxes makes the pops angry)
I made a small town colony with a big iron mines and dedicated it to plate armor/weapon smiting and bartered the small town for ale and bread
The game is fun but still bare bones and it's very easy to find a pattern and exploit it
Depends if you want to max your trading profits if you trade too much of the same item the price drops significantly
Tiles are 8 coins a piece and after selling 150 at once it becomes 1 coin
By stopping trade the price will slowly get back to its original price
Same with demand when you buy too much too frequently of an item the price will rise like meat rising from 2 to 3 coins a piece
In late game you won't notice it of because you're trading high value items like ale/weapons/armor but money is a problem only in the early game you also have a lot of positive modifiers like a lot of food and lvl 2 church and tavern so you can safely low tax your pops
>Custom difficulty pushing everything to max/hardest as the game will allow, winter start, no supplies, etc
Got as far as getting people to join the town finally and even made a militia of archers and sent them for a wander around. Maybe 2 years or so in, does this get any harder? Can you snowball economy to become too powerful?
That's like the most seething thread on the steam forums right now. For all the game's focus on real systems the homosexual dev just implemented an invisible RNG number where bandits magically disappear your shit and the only thing you can do is go to their camp across the map and kill them. No precautions possible or catching them doing it.
ive been playing since yesterday and combat has been a bad experience all the way. mercenaries are unreliable shitters who will leave mid fight if you dont have enough money to continue their contract. And regular troops, that are good, are gated behind the research that you never have enough points of.
>mercenaries are unreliable shitters who will leave mid fight if you dont have enough money to continue their contract
They have more self respect than jannies.
This game is dead on arrival because it has a small dev team and it is extremely successful.
Meaning the devs don't have financial interest in developing the game further since they basically have enough money for life.
How the frick do I get food once I reach 200+ pop? Farms suck ass and yield nothing even if you rotate the crops and you only get one berry + one wild animal node which only coveres the start. I've tried trading all my leather and put chicken coops in almost every house but these peasant fricks eat so much that I'm always 3 - 5 months away from starvation.
My first village. Currently shortage in food but hopefully my new farm to the east will handle that.
Got 2 full retinues and 4 full militias, going to start attacking the neighbouring lord soon
My first village. Currently shortage in food but hopefully my new farm to the east will handle that.
Got 2 full retinues and 4 full militias, going to start attacking the neighbouring lord soon
First time playing. Quit the game when I got raided by Raiders. 36 of them against 20 of my spear militia. Which area should I prioritize for early growth? Farms? Church? Tools? How do I trade? Tried growing wheat/rye, didn't work.
How can I send timber to my other region on the other side of the map
AI claimed everything so I just grabbed it but it’s opposite corner and my bartering station lets me send everything but timber it seems
>horse and castle walls sold seperately
what?
Half of the stuff displayed on the OP is missing in game
>early access
:O!!
you can build city walls and castle walls though. It's a little jank but you can do it
arent they only cosmetic?
Honestly not sure. I watched a video that says you need to use the castle planner but not actually build it. Then you build your town like normal inside the walls and then you can build the walls around it all when you're ready. Something like that. I'm installing right now so I'll try it
>cant build normal fortifications
>can build castle walls
>dev tells you to stop because ???
i thought ppl said it was basically done? oh well. still playing when i get home.
absolutely not, all the reviews have the same issue of there's no mid game, you start to dip into combat with bandits but none of the big selling points of like kingdom management, neighbouring wars, big overland armies, etc are in the game
>You won't do irreparable damage if you do this, but it will mess with your building system. While it may look like a simple stone wall, it isn't, which is what can confuse the game's layered building system. This means if you cover your village with them, it could cause you a bad headache in the future if you want to build around it.
you risk messing up your town planning if you use them apparently
that's why I've heard people say hold off for a while actually building them? But yeah it's jank
Just check the usual places,
Nobody cares about you or your situation. You don't get good goy points here. If you wanna try it it's been up on Usenet and poor peoples republic of torrent.
Theres allready torrent
>Only sub 6 GB
Like wtf, i have more RAM than this game size
Gamepass version is a little under 16gb. Did I get a Microshart virus?
BROO WARZONE IS 4X MY RAM CAPACITY NOW THATS A GOOD GAME
how come when you have more ram than the entire game size that windoze can't just put the entire game in ram so there's absolutely zero load times?
early access, and it's really fricking early access
feels like it's 30% done
...and it is already better than 90% of aaa games and one of the best city builders of all time. It will climb to the very top.
t. Never played any other city builder before
>and it is already better than 90% of aaa games and one of the best city builders of all time
It's actually not.
I played like 7 hours and i can rant forver about how moronic this game is.
>Anon that has only played manor lords thinks manor lord is the best game ever
my dear youngling, I played them all. The first Sim City, Settlers, Caesar, Pharao, Anno, to Skylines, Banished, Farthest Frontier. Manor Lords is the comfiest, and that is my personal most important measurement.
no way its comfier than pharaoh
You're going to be greatly disappointed, wait until its out of EA
Bro its on gog. You don't need a crack.
have a nice day
It's on gamepass my guy. If you're that desperate to play it. Or just check 1337x.to if anyone uploaded it. Doubt it has Denuvo.
game's like ok
i pirated
>India expansion pack
>called Manure Lords
Manure Sirs
How are the colony sim aspects? Are they finicky?
i just pirated it and it's not even done yet? i thought it was releasing, but there's a ton of missing content everywhere
Assign oxen to stuff in the advanced tab of sawpit.
this game is so fuggin comfy
>dat transition to Winter
The demo was extremely comfy
This is what I'm seeing, doesn't look like it has a whole lot more than the demo so I guess I'll wait a while before getting it.
I think there's something people take for granted like building a building piece by piece
It's fun, but ridiculously far from done. Hasn't this slav homosexual been working on this for like 7 years now? Sure doesn't seem like it, it barely has any content.
bandit Black folk keep stealing my berries. what do i do?
the answer should be obvious
It's hunting time, anon
Is the History version good or worse than the OG?
Since Manor Lords is way incomplete, what's the best settler game?
Rimworld.
anno1800
Not gonna lie, senpai. A city builder set in the industrial revolution is not very comfy. There's pollution everywhere, and most buildings are ugly.
Just build a zoo on your main island and make your other islands India.
pollution is a small issue. the game looks spectacular and is very comfy
You're crazy, it's an incredibly aesthetic period with a wonderful design style, the loading screen art alone is gorgeous.
Pollution shoudn't exist at all, outside of maybe some factory districts on your feeder islands. I don't have any of that on my main islands at all.
I agree which is why Anno 1404 will always be the GOAT
Banished
That game is even more incomplete that Manor Lords, and it was abandoned like a decade ago.
Why did they abandon Banished : (
That game is literally nothing vanilla but add on Colonial Charter and you can get 100 hours out of it easily before you're bored of it.
settler gold edition
Backgammon (played outside with other white north americans)
Dwarf fortress for sheer complexity and freedom.
Rimworld if it is too daunting for you to handle.
Songs of syx mogs the frick out of both
I just hope he finalizes the UI at some point and stops fricking with it. The latest patch somehow removed the slider that lets you determine how much you export.
Emperor is the best straight city builder.
And Anno1800 is the best one for a fully featured empire/trade simulation game.
Love those games.
the left one
Farthest Frontier
>settlers
i did not play them all since imo after the 4th they went downhill hard but my favorite is the 3rd
Game looks like intensely comfy slavcore, is it good for someone who's kinda shit at the genre?
buy an ad
>t. Seething marketing asiatic
it is 10/10 no nigs no trannies and other gay shit just whites and comfyness
God forbid talking about videogames in the videogames site.
he's a bot, ignore
> A stellar blade thread died for this
oh no...
probably not, it sounds like it leans towards the more survival end of the spectrum when it comes to city building so it's comfy combined with bandits raiding your village and eventually battles/wars
better starting point than banished though at least
You can custom your playthrough and just play on relaxing mode with no invasions/enemies.
The atmosphere is really good in this tech demo. I can't wait until modders add actual content and gameplay. Might be a fun game one day.
I'm unironically excited at the possibility of mods. Do you think there'll be enough players and interests for mods? More maps, settings, unique buildings, etc.
Could you imagine a desert village like in Anno 1404?
10/10 so far, can a slav tell me if this is an authentic name?
It’s a nickname for Conrad
FOTM slop gobblers, assemble.
Sir is this the manor lords thread the Balatro thread is right over there >>>>
am I gonna make it?
>soulless ui and default unreal asset flip graphics
i was interested in buying this but it looks so bad visually
I remember seeing the art for this game and really hoping it would be a comfy medieval world to roam around in, was pretty disappointed to find it’s a city builder
you can walk around the town though
Shalom! Happy passover!
uhh ok, but you really can anon
pretty pointless without any functionality behind it, and you could do that back on PS1 with Theme Park World
>really hoping it would be a comfy medieval world to roam around in
you can exactly what was originally posted lol
>gravel road in a medieval village
is this historically acurate?
get medieval dynasty
that game corrupted my operating system
i loved the town building in knights and merchants
is this anything like knm?
it feels like Farthest Frontier
It's a game with an immense amount of potential. But if this is all the progress that has been made on it after all these years, I'm not sure why it wasn't already in early access a year or two ago. And I'm also a bit pessimistic and skeptical that he won't just take the money and abandon it because there's a lot of ambition behind the game's ideas and it clearly needs a lot of work to still get there. It is sadly giving me Bannerlord vibes, in that they have promised a lot but currently have underdelivered. Not sure I have faith that they will actually follow through.
If he doesn't cash out and scram he's the biggest idiot and sucker on the block.
He could just hire another slav or 3 for $15k a year and get even more money.
shit's basically like the early stages of Prison Architect, lots of potential but most likely going to take like 10 years to reach 1.0 and the final result will be shit
Gimme the rundown on prison architect, I played way way way back in early access and never went back.
>single dev
>100,000 players
>30 euros a pop
I’d buy a horse and then trickle updates promised over the next 5 years
Probably a Valheim situation, unfortunately.
On Gamepass so at least I can get to play it whilst still being a good (bad) goy
>Buy a second ox
>Oh shit I need a better hitching post
>Put ALL construction on pause
>They refuse to bring timber to the saw pit to make planks to upgrade
>Ox runs away
I fricking hate these little c**ts
More like c**tz
Watch the dev take his millions from early access paypigs yet never use that money to hire a handful of people to help flesh out the game. Manor Cucks lost.
>building a church is mandatory
Refunded, not interested in managing cattle
>game has been in development for like 5 years
>feels incredibly barebones
>only 1 dev so updates will be slow
yeah call me when its done in 10 years
Where will it end up?
Give it a day or two and it will be mixed. Reality needs to set in first that there's not much here to sink time into and for people to realize the dev is probably taking the money and running instead of finishing it.
sorry that your game was censored and now you have to resort to shilling against other games to cope 🙁
probably sit slightly above mixed
game is early access and theres nothing to do
Does anyone else have all of the regions in the map claimed by the AI incredibly quickly so that its nearly impossible to expand?
Me too
Barely two years in and he already claimed like 3 regions
WAIT FOR ME TO BUILD MY COMFY TOWN YOU gayGET
Yea.
Shit's actually really hard.
I push to expand as fast as I can but his army just snowballs completely out of control.
>early access
No thanks.
is this one of those games in which mentally ill, genitally mutilated shartmerilards larp as we wuz medieval n shiet? cringe
Nope, you're projecting your ideal fantasies into the game. So unfortunately I don't think you'll enjoy it very much.
no, it's slavic autism. slavs will all mindlessly buy a game if they know a slav made it, ESPECIALLY if it fits a certain medieval slav aesthetic
Lets have a moment of silence for all the moronic sheep who bought early access unfinished mess that will never be finished now that SINGLE GUY that worked on the game is swimming in money and will enjoy the pleasures of cocaine and fricking hookers on Ibiza
I know it's early access and missing tons of content but still, pretty impressive for one guy
So if one guy can do THIS, what the frick are AAA devs doing?
SSRIs
Outsourcing everything to jeets who work for peanuts of course, why put effort into your shit where there are droves of addicted monkeys that will pre-purchase your jeet slop
antisemitic post
I'll buy it when they have black models in the game.
do not give the israelite (you)s
Already filtered his trip, not really sure why use a trip just to be an annoying c**t to get filtered instantly but alright, whatever works for him
Is it okay to take dudes off the farm when we're waiting for growth?
juggling workers is supposed to be part of the gameplay, which is pretty dumb given most city/colony management games usually give you a way to automate those priorities
They gotta leave in every little crumb of interaction to keep you from fast forwarding through everything in this shallow slopbuilder
>interaction in a game is bad
unnecessary micromanagement is bad, this isn't starcraft 2
worst part is that it's not enough micromanagement that you can address the stupid stockpile issues the game has
>there's no room for ____
there fricking is you moronic peasant
Why play this over Stronghold for example?
So you can experience being part of The Current Thing™
I think the gimmick of being able to walk through your town is neat. Imagine if stronghold had such a feature. Otherwise, it's the difference in locations where stronghold is bri'ish and Manor lords is East Europe.
It's not an RTS, it's an authentic city builder. The point is the dev is a hisautist and wanted it to be as true to life as possible. Combat exists, but is neither a priority nor the point. You do need an army against bandits and rivals, but that's because the real life feudal world was cutthroat and people would come and loot and burn your city if they could.
I can't build cool roads in stronghold
I hate the dark fade around the edges
it's called vignetting, philistine.
Stop making squares
Never.
Don't listen to morons on here. You build a village to designs used at the time and they berrate you for being soulless.
big ups one proud bavarian
female lord, opinion discarded
They make it look very professional.
How is it on steam deck?
hasn't this game been in development for like 10 years, how is it still unfinished?
single dev
he has to have hired someone for the music
anon learns what a commission is
that's when you pay money to make furry porn, what else?
Why are the women just as good as the men at manual labor? Why are my male villagers picking berries while the women chop trees?
Because women helped with labor back then?
they didnt chop fricking lumber
do you know how easy chopping lumber is, anon?
damn anon, you've never chopped lumber in your life
Sounds like your country's women had massive skill issues.
Don't ever play AoE2.
>they didnt chop fricking lumber
Why not?
the article really proves the opposite. If it was commonplace and not unusual, it wouldn't have been news worth reporting as an event that caused gender stereotypes to crash down.
Slavic women did. Sorry your people is femlets. Legends say one babushka can clear an entire forest.
They did, in Russia.
moron my 78 years old grandmother is still chopping lumber to this day
Women chopped lumber all the time, everyone had to.
Anon, before the industrial revolution, both before and after the agricultural revolution, *everyone's* job was to prepare food.
Women absolutely gathered lumber.
i'm gonna give this a (You) to further illustrate your stupidity to the class
There better not be female soldiers
soldiers are only male, even militia is made up from your male workers
Only males, unfortunately. The dev will be canceled because some fricker will find a single instance where women went to war and piss and shit itself until it hits him. It's over, bros
>stellar blade flops bad
>there is now concentrated shilling against this game
discord marketing asiatics pls make it less obvious!
No. there's one guy who's has been having an absolute fricking meltdown on /vst/ over this game for the past few weeks. It's really obvious on that board because it's so slow, but a lot of the posts here are obviously him.
>stellar blade flops bad
Real?
It's okay, definitely needs to fill out fast. Probably faster than is possible. Who knows how long it'll be early access for and whether it'll end up finished
this game is not released yet, it's just in public alpha.
Wow, no shit? I thought Early Access meant it was full release.
No? Its EA on steam store, I just bought it
No
Is there a way to build a bridge?
What's the drill?
ain't no way this is made by a single guy
did he use AI or something ?
also the dev steam posts lmao based c**t
He is a 1 person company. But he contracted tons of stuff once he got funding.
he's going to become a millionaire.
>have a good idea
>kickstarter for funds
>take funds to hire subcontractors who will make the game for you
>put the game on sale
>you are now a millionaire
sadly what happens is :
>have a good idea
>kickstarter for funds
>run away with fund money
or
>have a good idea
>kickstarter for funds
>hire pajeets to try and minmax gains
>you've now entered subcontrator hell spiral
>by the time you've learned your lesson funds dried gg wp no re
He got published by hooded horse.
They were picking up an indie dev a month for a while
Played it for an hour so far.
So the game has not yet delivered us to the promised land I take it?
How long will it be in EA for? I don't play EA games.
Was thinking about buying this but it sounds like a tech demo with 45 minutes of content. Is that accurate?
not really.
It is
I played the demo and the full release is slightly more polished, but gets boring and about the same time
Pretty much. Its basically the exact same thing as every other city builder released since Banished.
It's more like 5 hours of content.
How does this and Farthest Frontier compare? That one's on sale too.
Farthest frontier is much more fleshed out but has performance issues late game. I also dislike the area of influence buildings like many others. Updates to farthest frontier are quite frequent.
The default scenario says "build at your own pace" but is actually really hard.
>Finally manage to race the AI to have 3 regions under my control before they steal anything
>AI sends wave upon wave of brigands at me and burn all my shit to the ground
The combat is the worst part of the game because you have frick all and they have everything.
This game is kind of shitty. It looks nice, but that's it. There's no depth to it. You make a pretty town and draw roads, that's all there is to it.
who made a video on this? or streamed it? saw 10 people on my steamfriend list immediately buy it on "release" today
bro it's like the most wishlisted game on steam, there is no boogeyman.
Already refunded it. So fricking janky, combat doesn't work, late game becomes a fricking disaster in management. Awful design and UI.
It's extremely polished.
So to build a logging camp you require 2 logs. So what happens if the bandits raid you and destroy your logging camp, trader and you have no logs.
Yes that's right - you can't get logs.
GG no re.
how are you so bad
Black person how the frick am i mean to defend against 8 fricking brigand doom stacks with 72 men.
He's right though, there's a reason City Builder games almost always let you get the basic starer building without needing resource investment... because otherwise you can get stuck in a position where you can't progress.'
Anno, Against the Storm, Emperor, Ceasar, Zeus, they all have essentially free logging camps.
Destroy a building
what went wrong manor lords bros?
for the most part lack of depth. take another look in a year. you'll just blueball yourself from the cozy and pretty gameplay you get in the first couple hours that ultimately leads to nowhere
early access
surely this large infusion of money will help the development of the game and make it even better once it releases, right? I JUST can't imagine the developer will take the money and bail
How are people STILL falling for the early access scam? Holy shit.
not finished and clearly no where near. i can't believe i bought an early access title what a waste of money.
>i can't believe i bought an early access title what a waste of money.
I finally broke my "Never buying EA" pledge with Against the Storm, and that was pretty great, but I've never played it once at release because I played it enough during EA.
Putting this one off seems like the right call. Strange to think that every fricking YouTuber was shilling it though.
They're still adding stuff to AtS post-release which is nice, I'll have some new stuff to look at when I inevitably go back to it.
>AI attacks me
>they have almost 3x more guys than I do despite weaker eco
ok its one of those games is it
>porn addicted gay schizos shocked they didn't know about this game
morons, most wish listed game on steam ever
wow this game is crap, no resources because my building was destroyed and cant rebuild it. army doesnt work, glitched out in the field while the AI floods a fricking moronic amount of guys at me. every AI concentrating me. massive CTDs
I can't even progress the game because I get fricking doomstacks within an hour destroying everything and once my woodcutter camp is going its literally over. This is stupid I'm returning it.
organic
nothing says organic like 10 quick posts suddenly crying how bad they are at combat
>Build a tier 3 house
>it suddenly freezes the game
>reload it
>spawn in with AI armies pouring into my village
What the frick?
should I buy this?
Yea it's pretty fun and extremely polished.
No, it's a half-finished buggy mess with almost zero content.
Why the frick can't I build walls? The AI has such a fricking massive army and I barely have anything and the game just started. Is this a bug?
Man after playing for 3 hours I have to say this is just tedious. There's way too much micro involved to the point that you have to individually manage every citizen. This is fine in the beginning but as the game progresses it's an absolute nightmare.
slavjank. it will be playable in like 5-6 years when mods come out.
meme game or legit?
micro-intensive town builder with AI doomstacks
Comfy town builder devoid of Black folk and gays
>no demo available
no demo = no buy
>on gog
looks like there's a demo to me
Every early acess game is a demo because you can refund it regardless of playtime
This week they actually finally ended that
https://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/?snr=100601___
sucks
Is it fun?
I love farthest frontier and against the storm survival type sims, is it in the same vein?
I hated ez mode city builders like city skylines
>Is it fun?
Building pretty villages is fun. Rest not so fun due to jank.
My only gripe is that the default scenario is honestly too hard.
Other than that it's an honestly really polished village builder with actually good battles.
I need to know if its better than farthest frontier before buying it
Can any nerds confirm?
Try before you buy. Pirate it and if it's good buy it.
>have to manually control all 30 of my farms
on the verge of refunding it.
>draw a road to the forest
>hundreds of bandits come pouring out
...?
if you build it, they will come
>a bandit camp was sighted
I'm about to end year 2. 96 days until the homosexual comes and wrecks my shit. For how much work needs done around the village I wish you get faster villager arrival. My economy is in pretty good shape however.
Would you recommend it so far?
Kinda? It depends on how much you can put up with a obviously unfinished game. There's plenty of obvious missing features but the core gameplay is solid for a city builder. There's some obvious jank with the way layouts are handled, especially with burrages. Have yet to do any real battles yet.
Not the bandit raid, the actual rival Baron has a count down of 365 days until he raids and he has 3 full stacks.
the bandit raid is not much of a problem if you just get your retinue.
200 of the enemy soldiers rushed me at the end of year 2 and I had like 50 soldiers absolute max (only 40 that I had weapons for). I'm guessing I wasn't supposed to declare war on him when he claimed some territory near me but it was bullshit.
I wish there was a way to see where all your resources are
It says I’ve got 273 iron but for the life of me I can only find around 220 dotted around
How do you get eggs?
Backyard chicken coops on burgages
Also, only having 2 policies, what the frick that seems lazy as
It’s not as finished as I thought it would be
Reminder that you can not criticize this game in any way because it's early access
It's kind of insane how accurate this has become in most discourse around early access games anymore. Even well thought out criticisms are met with autistic meltdowns about early access status.
Whoever was the first one to sell early access was a genius.
my saw mill keeps crying about generic storage full yet it's 0/50
several reviews complain about the storage system being broken/moronic
Full third person mode like Medieval Dynasties when?
>indie game by a solo dev comes out
>someone makes a thread about it
>Ganker: SHILL SHILL SHILL SHILL
what the frick
You were too stupid to figure it out. lol.
Then say it, bigshot. Enlighten me.
>still didn't answer
Different anon btw 🙂
The thing you gotta learn about Ganker is that it's pretty much always one guy.
How the flying frick do i open the digital art book?
Why are all the portraits looking at me like they want to rape me?
I've worked out how to beat the AI.
Basically all you gotta do is rush your retinue and then farm bandit camps whenever they come up using your retinue and your starting spear militia.
Take the gold for yourself and use it to hire mercs when you need them.
That's literally it.
>start a second save
>close to first winter
>game is telling me that I don't have any food suddenly
>have literally 50 berries in the granary
Does this game meet your expectations?
Yeah after seeing a streamer play it. Realized it was a Farthest Frontier clone or whatever, and early access means it won't have much depth.
half way there
Yea. Only thing i expected more of was maps.
The battles are really good for how little emphasis combat has. It seems like a waste. I hope in the future we get to build proper castles and hold out in large sieges + siege other people's castles.
It will also be interesting to see what the modding community does with this.
I'm going back to playing Songs of Syx for the time being.
I really expected this to be a lot more finished than it is the way all these Youtuber shills have been going on about for weeks now...
An enemy army is coming with like 100 mercs. I only have 20 people and no money for mercs. Is it going to be game over when they reach me?
now's your Mulan moment, anon
If that's your last territory, yes.
How do you take another territory?
Build up influence through the food tax or from shutting down bandit camps. Then make a claim on the map.
Or defeat the enemy when they try to claim part of the map.
Damn, seems a little brutal. I feel like the game just started. How was I supposed to get 100 population by the end of year 2?
I don't think you're supposed to. You're supposed to hire mercs.
looks promising for a single dev... I think I'll stay with Farthest Frontier for now thougheverbiet
Anyone played it yet?
I tried demo, was good
How much new stuff added?
Tell me all the good things and bad
got bored after 10 minutes and refunded this ea slop
Game is fun but yeah it's bare bones. I really hope mods are added. The third person mode where you can walk around your town would be perfect for porn mods.
Imagine turning this into a coomer game where you go around your village impregnating all the peasant women as is your right as their lord
Yes. Imagine walking into a farm and bending some thicc peasant lass over a fence, pulling her dress up, and railing her right there while an Ox watches.
Half the Witcher 1 sex scenes were more or less that.
I have more fate in my contrarianGanker than shilltubers
So how's the game?
Early.
Shockingly so for how many YouTubers have been deep throating it for the last month.
>Current player count is higher than Helldivers
What the frick?
I absolutely refuse to believe this many people care about city builders.
Demo was cool, city building is very natural and beginner friendly
Plus so many youtuber shilling this game so hard
game "journalism" is just number reporting now so it's a self perpetuating loop of free advertising and hype
>look at how many numbers people wishlisted manor lord!
Guess i wait for a year
Game base sure is solid but still need a lot of work and content
It's not actually hard.
literally forgot mercs existed
NTA, How do I buy mercs? It keeps telling me they restocked, but I don't know where to actually purchase them.
On the screen where you buy your normal units.
wtf the game is unwinnable? What were they thinking?
Is timber supposed to be stored somewhere? My logging camp is full and I can't find anywhere else to put it.
>Bandit camp on the other side of the map, two sectors away steals all seven of my tools randomly
Dude what the frick.
>people thinking this will ever leave EA

>I-it's a scam for polish game dev grants
>I-it's all CGI footage
>I-it's never coming out

there is no next, its in its final form, early access. enjoy
I will, thank you
>I-it's a commercial flop

But I swear this game will be different!
Slay the Spire

save your chatgpt tokens and dont respond
who cares about the EA label? When you buy a game you should buy it for the content currently in it. I bought tarkov and zomboid as complete games and I've gotten more than my money's worth
It has kernel level antitampering frick that
remember to go to church this Sunday anons!!
SOVL
>Wooden Church
I'm afraid you're ngmi to heaven with that level of faith.
The invasion mechanic is brutal. Black folk are on my doorstep now with a merc army that has 3x as many people as I have villagers. I have 0 dollars since I haven't unlocked a manor house yet so I can't buy mercs.
You don't need a manor. You can make huge amounts through trade. Some easy resources are planks, roof tiles, and leather or hides.
I have 50 families.
I'm basically buying in everything with my trade and tax revenue.
farm fields?
>this fricking game with ONE single fricking dev is doing so much more than a whole group of morons on Project Zomboid
How did the worst game literally ever made become top wishlisted on steam?
I wish there were some more little cosmetic space fillers, like maybe flower gardens or something. Having all these tiny rectangular green patches in between all my roads is aggravating my autism.
rate my town
cute and raidable.
8/10, nice n orderly but I'm not a fan of the long narrow burgage plots even though they're historically accurate
Lovely. Would be awful if something bad happened to it.
Cossacks rip off.
>play almost through the end of the first summer
>still with 5 families
I dont remember being this hard to the ball rolling on the beta, even with the slider for dificulty to please on hardest
There's a bug where if you don't load and reload a save it will think you don't have any open houses for new families.
>5hr
>the only release is from i*gshit
ill wait for the fittroony release
Rate my manor
Where is it?
Mirin' them fields
Is there any downside to making smaller fields like that and rotating them to keep the fertility up?
There is a greater chance that the game will bug out and will not remove crop textures when a field is left fallow. Also, if you rotate them incorrectly your peasants will spend a lot more time traveling to the outfields in certain years, which means less chance of avoiding crop damage due to rain. On the other hand, for fields close to the farmhouse it reduces that risk.
Looks very fertile
how much corn syrup a peasant needs
Any torrent for this? Direct downloads are too slow.
You could also try Ostriv, the graphic is PS2 tier at best but it is pretty much what you said
Thanks anon, I'll check it out. I don't really mind graphics, I still play Zeus + Poseidon from time to time (which is a stupidly good game btw)
I don't think Banished is really that hard. It has a slight learning curve, but once you make it past the early game struggles for food and such, it's a breeze. I found it relaxing personally and had a lot of fun with it. You might want to check out Anno 1800.
>look up Anno 1800
>full version is $130
It goes on sale regularly. I also never got or played any of the DLC, you can easily live without it. There's a lot of game there already.
Anno 1800 is a game where honestly all the DLC can be too much game. You have like 5 completely separate maps to manage at a time and two is already taxing enough.
worth it. not even memeing. just get the content dlcs when on sale
It's 100% discounted in thepiratebay
>He doesn't know
you can get the year 5 edition for 50% off which includes all gameplay DLC, everything else not included is cosmetic
if you never played the game full version will give you cancer unless you are turbo mega hyper autistic
Banished is not hard. You just have to avoid building tons of houses all at once. and ending up with death waves.
Banished is gay and lame, it's just moar food moar housing
Farthest frontier updated its combat recently its quite nice
How is it? I can’t get it until next week. Does anyone know how it runs on a rog ally?
so like... is it worth a buy or is it just a small indie game for less than 2 hours?
one town would easily take like 8 hours
so I say there is more content than that, but definitely not anywhere close to a full release
Haven't gotten anyone to Tier 3 because my people are starving so I'd say it 's not a small game.
yeah food is super brutal
importing food is almost a must now for me
As an indie city builder its way better than most of the other indie crap that gets put out there, especialy for a solo dev, and there is more than 2 hours of content, especialy if you like city builders and dig the late 14th century aesthetics.
The game has the potential to punch up with force, but unless you can see in the future, we cant tell if the dev will deliver or not.
>10 years in development
>still releases half finished
Im thinking more like bannerlords. not trusting ea again.
Do the people sleep at night or is it just for atmosphere?
atmosphere
they do rest but it's not coded to night time
Lot of fricking morons in here crying that the game isnt crusader kings 4 or whatever.
Sorry uninformed moron but this game was never going to be some military larp for your fat armchair general ass.
Its a comfy city builder first and foremost.
Try educating yourself next time
NOOOOOOOO THE FRICKING RAIN IS GETTING MY FOOD WET AAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!
>Indie indie indie indie indie
This has a publisher. It is not an indie title.
is it true its $15 in the us and €30 in europe?
It's $30 in the US, on launch discount. Normal price is $40.
Is there a day night cycle?
there is but its for cosmetic only, doesnt affect gameplay
dropped
Yes, but it seems to just be for atmosphere because villagers never stop working as far as I have noticed.
idgi because i just went from march to april with no night time
oh it's off by default, have to turn on in options.
Technically no. The game tracks days but it the sun never sets and there's no nighttime.
have to turn it on in options
>game with no nogs
They got my money.
Guys, please, tell me how you make tavern work with fricking low fertility.
I feel like i softlocked now since can't upgrade t3 and i just tired with rebuilding all those burning buildings.
Sounds like the same problem with Farthest Frontier and you roll a map without clay, fricking lmao.
Just trade, dumbass.
You didn't play that game, go away please with your trolling.
>Surrounded by red borders
you're already dead anyway.
kek, I JUST realized theres like little plus signs when you're using the fertility view, I was too zoomed out and didn't understand if red was less fertile or more fertile cause it looks like a heatmap and usually red = more concentration of something
How do you see the fertility view?
When you press C (I think it was C) to open the construction menu, there's a list of white text without background on the right side of the screen that lets you see underground water, fertility for different types of crops, smell-o-vision and fire risk
Oh shit, didn't even catch my notice cause of ultrawide lol
One year in and I've got like 15 families and that baron fricker shows up with like 90 troops saying hell attack in another year. Yeah nah guess I'm making a new save with that shit turned off.
Welcome to Christhill
from a steam review
POSTED: 27 APRIL
Enemy AI uses a multiplier to consistently be ahead of the player. This is a mechanic that ruins EVERY game it's utilized in by making strategy and initiative trivial.
is this true or just cope
It's a cope.
The AI is off map. It's not even playing the same game as you.
But the idea that it's going to be stronger than you no matter what is indeed a cope. My AI is begging for peace because I keep wiping him out.
So what's the consensus?
Worth it, or better to buy the Mirai DLC for Jet Girls?
Is this the senran kagura replacement? Why do the girls from the actual game look so fugly?
heard the game's ingame tree policy and some other are still 50% lock? is it true?
so it's basically not finish and dlc starve? I was hoping it's all unlock after seeing some earlier preview gameplay
Yes, it's true. Most of the upgrade/tech tree is locked and the policies are too.
oh man, guess I'll wait
It honestly looks exactly as unfinished as I saw it for over a year ago, I don't know what the frick this lazy slav has been doing all this time. Probably fell into the good old trap of redesigning systems constantly
no it doesn't.
You're right, he cut away tons of nodes by reducing it down to hardly any, much improvement
Not really.
Yeah, I'm baffled how this has taken so long and why it wasn't already in early access. It's the same as the demo and that was ages ago.
Is this just the latest FotM game? I have a hard time believing so many people are suddenly into a slow-paced settlement management game.
Yes. It has been heavily shilled by multiple major Youtubers and streamers the last few weeks. I already enjoyed the demo a year or so ago and had an interest, but there's no way this is organic interest for such a niche genre.
>Yes. It has been heavily shilled by multiple major Youtubers and streamers the last few weeks.
but why?
Because it's a fun new game and it looks good
so isnt that more an organic building of interest and less a "shill" campaign?
by a solo literal who dev? Or by the poverty tier publisher?
It's definitely paid shilling.
by who Black person answer like a human
Obviously the dev and publisher. The influencers aren't shilling it for free you fricking moron.
have you looked up the dev? have you looked up the publisher? Think spergy where the flying FRICK would they get the kind of money to pay off big influencers? You know how much money a c**t like asmongold makes? Hooded horse the publisher doesn't have a single big game or even cult hit game under their belt they have no presence or influence.
ah so this is how it will be forever now, any game that gets any traction we must hate and any positive news that comes out about it is a shill campaign. Just grindin away dismissing everything till another tortanic then we can all jerk off about how right we are when we call every 1/100 games to be a flop. simply epic.
>waaaa normies only play 3 slop genres
>waaaaa AAA devs are all cucked
An indie dev makes a medieval city builder and finds success
>waaaaaaa its a shill campaign
it's easier to shit on things than it is to let your walls down and talk about what you like
lonely losers who need easy wins gravitate towards shitting on everything because it's an easy way for them to feel better.
this website fosters this and always has.
maybe its always been this bad but I remember people being supportive of banished when it come out. This is where I learnt about it and its one of my favourite games.
The game has had consistent and organic interest. If you're not getting paid to spam these threads that's just pathetic.
No idea. Paid, I guess.
When do new villagers show up? I have surplus housing for a several months now and approval is around 50% to 51%
It just seems to be random periodic growth
according to the game's own help section, when you are 50% or above and at low population growth you'll attract one family per month. But I found it only works if you also begin the next month above the threshold. I had old homelessness still effecting the following month bringing me down below 50 even though I ended the previous month in the 50s. Once the homelessness number diminished and I had a church and multiple types of food, I did indeed get one family a month so long as I had enough vacant houses
its fricking over
whatever
>murican tries building a village
>ends up making ugly rectangle abomination
Why can't burgers into comfy village building?
Need to make sure there's room for the Walmart and Bass Pro Shop
Am I missing something? Are you suppose to only use one fricking oxen when it's required for everything?!
You can buy more.
Where?
You need more hitching posts/stables. Then you can purchase from them.
I wanna do another run knowing what I know now but I'm not sure how much more there actually is to the game, if I did everything right I think I'd just have more of the same stuff I had in my failed game.
feels like it's missing something. really reminds me of banished on release where I just kinda felt "ok, what now" after a few hours.
>feels like it's missing something
Like half of game.
IDK why dev think that bad fertility AND necessity to farm barley is good.
Songs of Syx is basically a finished version of this game but with deliberately worse graphics.
i'll probably be going back to playing that.
chat should i buy this slavslop
pirate it and wait if he continues developing it and not run away with money, then maybe
good call
Kinda wish families lived in houses closest to their job
>buying early access
Might aswell donate to a patreon
In this case in particular its even worse
>dont say what his plans are
>dont promise any feature
>dont provide any time frame
Dude cashed in and will never touch this game again
samegay
>delayed 3 years
>has less content than Banished
Yeah, I figured. I resisted and did not buy it because after watching the media blitz with streamers it seems very barebones when you get past the 'heckin no grid!' wow factor
I really don't know why this game made by one guy has such an anti.
hes been spamming about it being a "scam" for years.
should i always try to fit 2 families in to one house plot?
Yes, much more efficient
Why does the forester's hut say they plant trees in "The specified zones" but I don't see any way to specify any zone?
I think it's under the advanced tab when you click on the building
If this game was about mechanics it'd be Spanner lords
If this game was about cheaply preserving food, it would be canner lords
How is the simulation side of things?
Words cannot describe how much I desire a medieval city builder which attempts to simulate a city rather than focusing on survival like banished or production queues like the impressions/anno games.
its pretty authentic to how medieval villages were actually run
The game is fun but still bare bones and it's very easy to find a pattern and exploit it
is the late game micro intensive? I fear and hate having to manage all the small things that keeps popping up exponentially as you grow
Sweet, that sounds manageable
trading is too broken, im playing without trade so i have a reason to invade the other terrioties to secure resources
summer is coming soon
Is the map size all the youtubers played on the largest available? It looks way too small.
>Custom difficulty pushing everything to max/hardest as the game will allow, winter start, no supplies, etc
Got as far as getting people to join the town finally and even made a militia of archers and sent them for a wander around. Maybe 2 years or so in, does this get any harder? Can you snowball economy to become too powerful?
>bandit can teleport to your storehouse and steal without raiding or consequence
WTF Black folk AND YOU TOLD ME THIS GAME HISTORICAL ACCURATE
That's like the most seething thread on the steam forums right now. For all the game's focus on real systems the homosexual dev just implemented an invisible RNG number where bandits magically disappear your shit and the only thing you can do is go to their camp across the map and kill them. No precautions possible or catching them doing it.
Wake me up in 1year
is it worth buying now?
Wait a year. Get it on gog-games just to get a feeling
ive been playing since yesterday and combat has been a bad experience all the way. mercenaries are unreliable shitters who will leave mid fight if you dont have enough money to continue their contract. And regular troops, that are good, are gated behind the research that you never have enough points of.
so it's pretty realistic
>mercenaries are unreliable shitters who will leave mid fight if you dont have enough money to continue their contract
They have more self respect than jannies.
>mercenaries are unreliable shitters who will leave mid fight if you dont have enough money to continue their contract.
based
>mercenaries are unreliable shitters who will leave mid fight if you dont have enough money to continue their contract.
>mercenaries are unreliable shitters who will leave mid fight if you dont have enough money to continue their contract
Who could've guessed?
>anon experiences human history in a single hour
>mercenaries are unreliable shitters who will leave mid fight if you dont have enough money to continue their contract.
This game is dead on arrival because it has a small dev team and it is extremely successful.
Meaning the devs don't have financial interest in developing the game further since they basically have enough money for life.
Worked for Stardew Valley
Or Terraria
moronKING, both of these games released completed while this game is in early access and needs 10 years of dev time to finish.
so more devs = more buggy the game
does that mean games with less bugs like gta have only one dude just making it?
>games with less bugs like gta
Been thinking of getting it. Is it worth the wait?
How the frick do I get food once I reach 200+ pop? Farms suck ass and yield nothing even if you rotate the crops and you only get one berry + one wild animal node which only coveres the start. I've tried trading all my leather and put chicken coops in almost every house but these peasant fricks eat so much that I'm always 3 - 5 months away from starvation.
The frick do I do?
My first village. Currently shortage in food but hopefully my new farm to the east will handle that.
Got 2 full retinues and 4 full militias, going to start attacking the neighbouring lord soon
This is my second region, which supports the first with a deep iron mine and supplies all the weapons and armor
>grid
Soulless
I know what you mean, but it's fairly difficult once you get to 100 families to build it like you've done it
First time playing. Quit the game when I got raided by Raiders. 36 of them against 20 of my spear militia. Which area should I prioritize for early growth? Farms? Church? Tools? How do I trade? Tried growing wheat/rye, didn't work.
So are archers just completely bugged? They can't kill anything wtf
how big is your militia before you attack a neighboring lord? 20?
is the game really as short as """people""" say
its unfinished garbage. dev is gonna rug i bet.
How can I send timber to my other region on the other side of the map
AI claimed everything so I just grabbed it but it’s opposite corner and my bartering station lets me send everything but timber it seems
You don't!
So how the frick can I build in a new region? I claim it, start with no timber and to get timber I need to build a logging camp which costs timber?
