It's funny how all these Kickstarters in 2010 tried to make "spiritual successors" of famous games from 90s-00s, but by the time they've finally released the game they promised (if they ever did - a ton of Kickstarters never delivered) the devs behind those famous games have already released remake / remaster / sequel / their own spiritual successor of famous games with better ending result. Usually Kickstarters that tried to do their own thing (and devs had enough experience in videogame industry) actually delivered on their promises while cheap copycats just took the money and either ran away with it or released a mediocre mess.

Stasis 2 bone totem was a AA adventure game that used a significant amount of ai image gen for character portraits. They all look uncanny and fricked up, but it works for the horror environment of the game. The devs got too excited about the tools and added hundreds of image gens with cryptic captions to terminals you interact with that served as fake clues and story context. A lot of players said it looked hacky, and it did in most places, so the devs cut all that shit out in a patch. Looks like a cool game, though. It does help that the plot is a reality warping mind frick sort of thing, so there's a narrative place for uncanny imagery.

I don't trace but like 99% of artists, usually use some sort of reference for poses, etc.
Tracing is not only shit, it's easy to spot and the results always look uncanny/lacking in detail because simply tracing over lines prevents the artist from understanding why those lines are there in the first place, so when you have to make changes to make it not an obvious copy, you'll ruin it. Stupid ass morons. Just draw side by side if you're gonna try and copy other 2D art, or stop being a moron and use real references.

Untold millions are using them but the reason they're free is because Stable Diffusion popped up out of nowhere and it was open source. In order to compete, Microsoft had to release Dall-E for free. Meta is also releasing stuff open source because in order to compete with OpenAI they need open source contributions.
Most serious applications are not free though. IE pikalabs, 11labs, midjourney, GPT-4, and the enterprise stuff that contracts with huge corps that I don't know the names of(the AI companies working with Hollywood and big companies like Blizzard).

There is the PSP version, the PSP version with One Vision mod, and the new remake which has voice acting and stuff. All are good but none are perfect so I've never played the game. I really hate choices!
PSP version is fine - there's no perfect version and each of them (SNES / PS1 / PSP / most recent remake) has their own pros and cons
