I just wish the waves did not have such massive gaps between them.
Yeah, I had almost forgotten they were still coming out. If I had to guess, it looks like they're working on four-month cycles, so Wave 3 should be arriving at the end of the year.

I think Coconut Mall suffered the most in the first wave. Definitely felt more simplified in presentation.
This is my biggest problem with these and why my excitement died after wave 1.
MK8 is a beautiful game for the Switch, so to see the new DLC tracks looking like dookie diarrhea in comparison sure sucks.
At least from this Wave, I think Waluigi Pinball is looking good, but that's only one track and we haven't really seen it in motion yet.
They don't look like "dookie", they just don't look fricking inctedible like the base game courses. They still look better than Wii's tracks. You can have ratings that are not just 0 or 100.
they look bad because of the incredibly shoddy texture work compared to the base game. It just takes some basic texture swapping to make the courses look (mostly) up-to-par
i think it needs to be considered at LEAST:
mario kart 8 is 8 years old

that is not the reason at all, the OG team is working on another project. do you really think they'd bring back the whole team to work on MK8? this is just to tie us over to the next MK on the next system, it's why it's being drawn out as long as possible.
It's the grass more than anything. Most things can be handwaved, but that flat practically textureless grass texture looks like a dev texture or something.

With how fast karts go in 200cc, I could see them upping the laps to 3. Then again, N64 Rainbow Road was trimmed down to a single lap.

64 rainbow road was too long for no reason, probably one of the worst tracks of all time
They keep missing the opportunity to carry this one in. If they still fail to add it by the end of the Booster Pass then everyone should be fired for terminal stupidity.
I do wonder if its unique nature is one of the reasons they haven't included it yet. And unlike Baby Park, I don't suspect it is an especially popular track.

There's probably some, but I'd much rather play 8 Deluxe than Tour.

I'd suggest you stop playing 8 Deluxe then, because I can't see any reason why Nintendo would deviate from their current trajectory.
The Booster Course Pass is doubling the amount of tracks in the game in less than two years time, and you have to remind yourself that 8D already has two extra DLC packs worth of content more than the average MK game. There is zero chance of any track not being ripped from, or intended for, Tour.
First three tracks are in. Last two have no signs of them coming thus far. Only tracks that were added without being datamined were Shroom Ridge and Snow Land, and it's worth noting that both use assets that are present on other tracks. For what it's worth, Peach Gardens at least could reuse Chain Chomp and Monty Mole models from other parts of Tour.
What are the best tracks from Super Mario Kart? It's the one major game in the franchise I really haven't played.
the overall track design in that game is pretty meh all things considered, besides MK8 already has SNES rainbow road which is the best from that game

I don't have any interest in playing Tour, but Paris Promenade and Tokyo Blur are fine tracks, if a little boring. I like how the routes change depending on what lap you're on. Ninja Hideaway is just a fun track, full stop.
I wish they would add a few more karts to the game too. I really want the Flame Flyer back.
