Auroradon(and halq) makes it so that with two monsters on the field you can get Baronne+Borrelload Savage+Herald of Arclight+VFD on the board. A once per summon(not even once per turn) negate is nowhere near as bad as those "you literally don't get the play the game if you don't have droplet" cards.
It's kind of soulless because people don't use it for its actual effect; they just use it to put things in the graveyard. But not soulless enough to care about.
Now that the thread is about to 404 I'll admit that the reason I didn't add Eldlich is because I have cute aggression so I don't mind Eldlich as a mid-tier deck even if I lose against them. The original manga had its own mythology. 5D's doesn't have shit.

Almiraj is great. It's a buff for rogue/pet-deck players, like myself.
It's absolutely core for Plunder Patrol. I played like 3 games without it and then instantly crafted it after a game where it would've given me a good turn 1 and had no regrets.

as a matter of fact, I was looking through Field Spells yesterday thinking of incorporating some niche non-archetype specific one to put into my deck. One that stood out to me is Smile Action. It's very weird.
Just a slower reciprocal version of Chronicle + Patronus that I see no reason you'd use outside Witchcrafter or over the previously mentioned combo in Witchcrafter.
it's a card version of the action field spells from ARC V
it scatters simples spells (like negating an attack or changing a monster's stats) around a virtual arena and the characters typically run around between turns or even mid-attack to find an asspull card

Every action you do in Digimon carries a certain amount of memory, and your turn is only over once you run out of memory, with any surplus carrying over to you opponent on their turn.
For example, if I have 2 memory and want to digivolve into Nidhoggmon which costs 5 memory, I would be ending my turn after all effects resolve, and my opponent will start with 3 memory on their turn.
So whoever goes first gets to use the starter memory and then everybody plays on 1 memory?

Definitely read the rule book, but no. If you go first, you always start at 0 memory. Then you opponent will start with whatever memory you used on that turn.

Things like Linkuriboh or Almiraj. They're good in lots of decks and you'll probably want them eventually but you can't just throw them in any deck like you can with a true staple.

Assuming it was made using IP Masquerena, then yeah, it's nearly unbeatable. You would have to use a Kaiju or a non-targeting send/banish like Dingirsu or Shuraig.

Are myutants good? I see them very rarely but they always kick my ass and I have no idea how to respond them having really good quick effects and not caring about being banished.
For instance, I play a certain card. They negate it. That same card has a secondary effect that I can use (and may very well get negated as well, but I would be baiting out two negates with one card)
Lost Wind is a nice budget staple that can be recycled. It's not good for baiting out negates since you'll probably have already flipped it before they get a negate up, or it's too slow to do so, but hey, it's a card.
that would only work if the card that negates it both only negates either that specific effect or it's activation as opposed tl negating the card's entire effects on the field like imperm. AND the effect to negate also doesn't destroy, which most do.
Danger! monsters maybe? If they negate the activation/effect with like an Ash Blossom, then you just activate it again since it's not once per turn. If they negate and destroy then you still get the floating effect.
Good players probably won't waste negates on them though.

It might be good if it were quick play. But most GY effects will either trigger on their turn, or before you can counter with Soul Release. You'd be better off with something like D.D. Crow, Ghost Belle, or Skull Mester if you wanted more than Called by the Grave. Or even Fiend Comedian/Fiend Griefing.

banishing 5 cards from the gy sounds strong, but gy disruption is an effect that's much much stronger as a quick effect. there's a reason that d.d. crow sees play and soul release doesn't dispite soul release banishing 5 times as many cards. it's because one is a quick effect, and the other isn't. even the transmigration prophecy has seen more play, and it's a trap card that you have to set and wait a turn to use. spell speed 1 gy banishing just isn't a strong effect.

There is no good reason to do that, and they are only locking themselves out of summoning link monsters, and making themselves vulnerable to Chimeratech Megafleet. I don't see people do that.
Level Up and all the corresponding monsters meant to be used with it aren't really worth the setup unfortunately, but the newer Armed Dragon Thunder Lv. monsters are usable.

You make a little benis Xyz and "rank it up" (i.e. you stack another one on top, but a rank or two higher, think Vespenato, Dreadnoughts, or Zeus). Some decks have kits that can be tailored to rank ups via their signature spells, and certain decks like Digital Bug are built around this as their main mechanic (start at a shit Rank 3, go into Rank 5, finish with the summon animation one, a Rank 7 stag beetle).
Of course this might not be themewise what you want. I think Raidraptors can do it too?

Justify is in the card art because his power is the ability to banish stuff, and lorewise he's got a powerful monitoring tool at his disposal (the search). It doesn't have to fit with the archetype, it's just thematic.
I liked Runeterra and it 100% has more to offer a player as an experience than Master Duels but Yugioh is so engraved in my childhood that I have more fun doing stuff with it.

yes. the only situation where it doesn't is if your opponent already activated a set imperm and you activate reboot in the same column like an idiot. so just don't do that and you're fine.
Lightning Storm/Feather Duster/Twin Twister/Cosmic Cyclone are all more reliable. Red Reboot essentially requires your opponent's full strategy to be based on traps to be better than those.
Someone tried it against me while I was playing traptrix. So I just made Zeus and whacked them. Trap decks should have a plan B if their traps get negated
sometimes when i feel like i'm facing TOO much backrow, i slot it in my mathmech deck, it does it's job especially since there is no second turn for them if you are going to OTK them, so the cost does not matter, but ultimately that card should not be maindecked in a bo1 too random the cost is too high and too incosistent at 1, if you don't kill them or setup something to nullify their backrow for next turn you are fricked. Long story short:no.

I used to play magic around 2002-2006 in HS and college.
I Bagan playing yugion around 2003, it was simpler and straightforward yugioh develop into a power house of TGC, magic got stale, and resource management remain part of its bedrock.
In comparison we do not tributes monsters in yugioh, the game evolved before our eyes.

I liked Keyforge's gameplay style where it's about trying to build something rather than trying to reduce a value to zero. I also like games like Pokemon and Digimon where damage is a more discrete event, and character stats are more like combat abstractions rather than a direct means to victory.
So I'd like a game where you build something, and you win by building a certain amount of somethings. A turn limit would also be nice, like how Marvel Snap does it. Something like, there are 5 spaces on the field, you're trying to control more of them at the end of 6 turns (by building structures on them), and if you control all 5 at any time you also win.
I could see it being a generic fantasy theme, or being something more futury / modern / funny where it's about construction teams fighting for real-estate.
Anyways obviously no, nothing's going to be more aesthetic than fricking Yugioh. Takahashi was a fantastic artist.

I'm not going to complain because it's already the best hand trap ever conceived that stops practically everything, but I found it INTERESTING that I didn't get a prompt to negate the effect of my opponent's Pendulum Scale effect to add back a pendulum monster from the top of their Extra Deck to the hand.
Ash Blossom says "from the Deck to the hand", it doesn't say "from the Main Deck to the hand", so it should count both the Main Deck and Extra Deck.
Structure decks will let you have fun in silver (gold is a stretch because you will see many tryhards there already) but it's better to just look up more optimized decks online and copy them.
I really hope you are all in Diamond before the update drop, it is going to be hell just like the last time. I might drop my Drytron deck after this one

Baronne is there due to being a stupidly easy omni negate that everyone uses. It's as soulless as Auroradon.
Auroradon(and halq) makes it so that with two monsters on the field you can get Baronne+Borrelload Savage+Herald of Arclight+VFD on the board. A once per summon(not even once per turn) negate is nowhere near as bad as those "you literally don't get the play the game if you don't have droplet" cards.

as a matter of fact, I was looking through Field Spells yesterday thinking of incorporating some niche non-archetype specific one to put into my deck. One that stood out to me is Smile Action. It's very weird.
Just a slower reciprocal version of Chronicle + Patronus that I see no reason you'd use outside Witchcrafter or over the previously mentioned combo in Witchcrafter.
it's a card version of the action field spells from ARC V
it scatters simples spells (like negating an attack or changing a monster's stats) around a virtual arena and the characters typically run around between turns or even mid-attack to find an asspull card

Every action you do in Digimon carries a certain amount of memory, and your turn is only over once you run out of memory, with any surplus carrying over to you opponent on their turn.
For example, if I have 2 memory and want to digivolve into Nidhoggmon which costs 5 memory, I would be ending my turn after all effects resolve, and my opponent will start with 3 memory on their turn.

Things like Linkuriboh or Almiraj. They're good in lots of decks and you'll probably want them eventually but you can't just throw them in any deck like you can with a true staple.

For instance, I play a certain card. They negate it. That same card has a secondary effect that I can use (and may very well get negated as well, but I would be baiting out two negates with one card)

It depends on the card. It may read 'negate the activation', or 'negate that effect', or 'negate its effects until the end of turn', etc.
Lost Wind is a nice budget staple that can be recycled. It's not good for baiting out negates since you'll probably have already flipped it before they get a negate up, or it's too slow to do so, but hey, it's a card.
that would only work if the card that negates it both only negates either that specific effect or it's activation as opposed tl negating the card's entire effects on the field like imperm. AND the effect to negate also doesn't destroy, which most do.

It might be good if it were quick play. But most GY effects will either trigger on their turn, or before you can counter with Soul Release. You'd be better off with something like D.D. Crow, Ghost Belle, or Skull Mester if you wanted more than Called by the Grave. Or even Fiend Comedian/Fiend Griefing.
banishing 5 cards from the gy sounds strong, but gy disruption is an effect that's much much stronger as a quick effect. there's a reason that d.d. crow sees play and soul release doesn't dispite soul release banishing 5 times as many cards. it's because one is a quick effect, and the other isn't. even the transmigration prophecy has seen more play, and it's a trap card that you have to set and wait a turn to use. spell speed 1 gy banishing just isn't a strong effect.

You make a little benis Xyz and "rank it up" (i.e. you stack another one on top, but a rank or two higher, think Vespenato, Dreadnoughts, or Zeus). Some decks have kits that can be tailored to rank ups via their signature spells, and certain decks like Digital Bug are built around this as their main mechanic (start at a shit Rank 3, go into Rank 5, finish with the summon animation one, a Rank 7 stag beetle).
Of course this might not be themewise what you want. I think Raidraptors can do it too?
F.A. kind of does that. They have 0 original attack, and can increase in level every time you use a spell, and gain attack based on their current level. But since they're race cars it's meant more to symbolize them accelerating.

Lightning Storm/Feather Duster/Twin Twister/Cosmic Cyclone are all more reliable. Red Reboot essentially requires your opponent's full strategy to be based on traps to be better than those.
Someone tried it against me while I was playing traptrix. So I just made Zeus and whacked them. Trap decks should have a plan B if their traps get negated
sometimes when i feel like i'm facing TOO much backrow, i slot it in my mathmech deck, it does it's job especially since there is no second turn for them if you are going to OTK them, so the cost does not matter, but ultimately that card should not be maindecked in a bo1 too random the cost is too high and too incosistent at 1, if you don't kill them or setup something to nullify their backrow for next turn you are fricked. Long story short:no.

I Bagan playing yugion around 2003, it was simpler and straightforward yugioh develop into a power house of TGC, magic got stale, and resource management remain part of its bedrock.

I liked Keyforge's gameplay style where it's about trying to build something rather than trying to reduce a value to zero. I also like games like Pokemon and Digimon where damage is a more discrete event, and character stats are more like combat abstractions rather than a direct means to victory.
So I'd like a game where you build something, and you win by building a certain amount of somethings. A turn limit would also be nice, like how Marvel Snap does it. Something like, there are 5 spaces on the field, you're trying to control more of them at the end of 6 turns (by building structures on them), and if you control all 5 at any time you also win.
I could see it being a generic fantasy theme, or being something more futury / modern / funny where it's about construction teams fighting for real-estate.
Anyways obviously no, nothing's going to be more aesthetic than fricking Yugioh. Takahashi was a fantastic artist.

Even current twin is decent to climb ranks, but sunny give actual firepower and consistency rather than depending of dog clearing field.
