I think the reason why Pends are so annoying to play against is honestly because the way they work is completely different from any other method. They have so many exceptions and conditions that aren't inherent in non-pends. Easy to make mistakes against pend due to this.
I feel like alternate summoning conditions for extra deck cards would make the game even harder for new players to understand at every level because they see an XYZ card come out of nowhere and without reading it theyre like >How the frick did that just happen

Ariseheart at 1 is okay. Deck dies to all of the outs now and the mirror match up becomes who can resolve unicorn first to frick with Kashitra subhumans even more.
The deck is not at full power. That said, Kash full power is still weaker than Tear. The reason why it became the top deck in the TCG is because they properly killed Tear.

Is it safe to drop shifter?
It was near mandatory when Tears were crazy but I've been bricking on it more as Tear and Spright matchups are rarer. And even if you run shifter at x2 it isnt a consistent opening and is a brick if you don't open it.
Shifter is good against every deck except Ka$htira but the impact varies. I also don't like opening shifter versus decks that also run shifter like trannies, birds and ka$h

Ka$h in a best of one will be so much worse than Tear, I don't think a lot of people understand how bad it will be yet.
Can your deck play without full zones? If not you lose.
Can your deck handle losing a pend zone? If not, you lose.
Can your deck play under D-Shifter? If not, you lose.
Can your deck afford spots for Kaijus without sinking your other matchups? If not, you lose.
Does your deck hinge on a single ED card? If so, you lose.
Does your deck play important one-ofs? If so, you lose.
There's more, but I think these are the most important ones. Keep in mind that Kash is so obscenely powerful that Auroradon turbo and the associated cancer is a back up plan rather than the goal.

I don't use full zones, I don't need pends, D-Shifter is a slight inconvenience but not death, I run Jizukiru, I barely touch the ED, and my one-offs are either discard fodder or cards I don't want to draw.
But Kashtira doesn't care, because they can maul my sad board anyway via Fenrir's banish effect.

Not necessarily, major card stories tend to revisit and support archetypes midway through quite a bit, even if it's not GOOD support.
For example, the Abyss plot slowly added Icejade more and more, drastically changing the deck's playstyle until it finally settled on L10 Water Synchro as the main goal, largely getting rid of the old wincon of being a poor quality Stun deck that had to get 3 cards on the field just to put up Skill Drain with a monster that had to attack in Def position.
Or we'll go back a little further, to the WL era. Orcust got Orcust Mekk-Knight at the end, and Orcust Knightmare before that.
Or even earlier, to DT. The Vylon allies all got new support for their archetypes.
Of course this doesn't mean Kashtira is first in line though, and even if they got new support it'd just be either A) a new soldier (i.e. same type as Fenrir, Unicorn, and Ogre) or B) a useless Riseheart retrain where he's no longer schizo.

He makes dark magician a little better and we can't have that, DM players are already uppity as is.
I guess realistically it helps stun decks and is a play under maxx c, branded can use it as well.
Half the shit that's banned just stays banned because they don't care to change the list not because it's dangerous to the health of the game.
I cared a lot when he was first introduced was a BS card at the time and everyone's fallback plan was DPE through Verte.
Now we've got bystials so he's lost a lot of his juice, granted he didn't see much play even before that thanks to the bans Konami did.
DPE is legal while better than Dragoon and nobody is playing him.
Granted this is because of what is meta right now, decks like Tear have no reason to DPE, Spright can't DPE, Branded can't Verte, Lab/Floo can't, Swordsoul can but it's the worse build, etc..

Maybe over two months ago. Since Lady and Big Welcome got released, pure Labrynth has been the most popular deck, with some decks only carrying one Skill Drain and/or Rivalry because they have the deck space, and still those are usually taken out in favor of Ishizu shufflers and Bystials. The only floodgate they all carry is D. Barrier. Labrynth has almost 100% switched to full control.

Generally because of archetypes they try and reduce the amount of words that could be used for future archetypes (hence stupid shit like Vaylantz) and while they still replace Japanese joke names with stupid stuff like You're Finished for Kiriban, it's uncertain as to if they'll keep the Gerpanese mess on the new Yubel or make it a callback to Ultimate Nightmare and Terror Incarnate by calling it something like The Ultimate Love Incarnation.

It's Purrely = R-ACE > Mikanko now, but Mikanko got an actually fricking useless boss while R-ACE adapted and rose past their single card first support into a much better spot. Remember when AMDE started out and everyone lamented how shitty R-ACE was despite looking so cool? Now the Hydrant is $40.

Literally every time I use Evenly, it does nothing for me and the opponent rebuilds their board next turn while I miss out on damage in my turn and then I get hit for 8000+

Yeah, you have to be able to run pure MP2 to get any value out of Evenly, it's what balances it. If you're running a glass cannon deck or some shit then it's basically useless.

when it comes to things like accesscode or monsters whose summons don't start a chain, yes. You lose a lot of time if you always have it on though so I don't just always have toggle on.
It’s an inherent summon, not an effect to summon. Kind of like how you can just overlay any 2 levels 4’s for exciting knight, and have to contend with a board wipe.
Block Dragon summoning itself does not start a chain. You just banish 3 and summon it.
So its better to have it set to on then auto?
"On" asks you if you want to activate a card or effect whenever you are able to. IE, you have Called By The Grave set and your opponent has any monster in their graveyard, whenever you have priority it will ask you "Do you want to activate this card NOW?" So it is better but it will ALWAYS ask you and that can be really annoying and your opponent might figure out what card it's asking you about. On the other hand if you leave it on Auto and only switch it to On when you feel like you need to, you might miss your window just because it takes time to switch.
If that works I imagine it is because it is a trigger effect that only occurs when that Dragon Synchro monster is banished specifically, so it recovers that particular card

Yeah, it's a fun game. I come from a fighting game background so I'm used to getting my ass beat repeatedly and it doesn't tilt me anymore, and in MD if there's nothing I can do or I just don't feel like playing against a certain matchup I can just scoop and be in another game in less than 30 seconds. The game is really generous with how it handles dailies so when I'm feeling burnt out I can just log on to collect them and spend maybe 20 minutes once every 3 days doing them all while I play something else. It's nice

Here's my decklist, with little to no interruption I can get a 4-negate Apollousa, Rainbow Overdragon, and 11,000 ATK RD Overdrive, with a Quick Effect to tribute itself, shuffle the whole field and summon enough ATK to OTK
I like it but I also play at low ranks where I can use my (usually) cheaper meme decks. If I run into anything overly oppressive I just leave and queue up again, takes less than 10 seconds to get into a new duel and deranking isn't a punishment for me since I'm not grinding ranked. Once every couple of months I pull on the latest meta shit just to experience it. The game gives you so much free currency it's easy to have enough gems hoarded for it.
I didn't play this game for a week and a half. I didn't even log in or do dailies. I was happier forgetting it existed. I'm going to uninstall this trash.
Good, pokemon promos can go for moronic amounts of money. I've seen them go for hundreds to thousands of dollars. I couldn't imagine needing a pokemon promo for a competitive deck.
Typically they're just regular cards but with a small shiny stamp identifying them as a promotional card.
For example, they gave out a Fennekin card with the logo of the set stamped onto the art box of the card. The card is just a foil promo stamp variant of an identical Common from the same set.
There's fancier promos but these are the bulk of the actual live distribution ones.

Anyway, why always Witchcrafter? It feels like there's one WC fan who really hates Strikers, and I say that knowing SS is super fricking hated overall anyway. A WC manga wouldn't be able to slot into the same target demographic as this. They picked Striker because it was relatively popular, very "safe," and it had both pretty girls and a focus on action so it could easily run in a boys manga magazine. If they were to end Striker, the next in line would not be Witchcrafter, they might be a footnote in the Endy story. Realistically the next candidates are more likely to be something like Dinomorphia where it has a modicum of cool factor in addition to the pretty factor.
Because it's the current main manga since no one likes OCG Stories? Essentially, while there's no anime this is the next non-Rush main YGO manga since VRAINS never got one iirc. All of the cards are characters from the manga, so they're monster cards. Sky Striker only needs 2 maindeck non-handtrap monsters so naturally they can't really make use of any of the new manga character cards.
Ciela's the only one that has any possible use but there's still no reason to use her.
There are going to be cards for several other characters, including all the Spectra robots, 2 more link monster mechas (one for the shota combiner and one for the mystery machine), and most likely some Link-3 or Link-4 of Azalea's goblin rape shield mecha.

Are there any decent decks with a lot of options? I mean like if I open a decent hand there's multiple combos or end boards I can make? I've tried Live Twins and Punk and they're fun and all but I feel like I just do the exact same combo every game and I kinda want some more varied interactions for when I play with friends. I don't mind straightforward decks in ladder where it's over in 3-4 turns anyway and I just want to get it over with for the pass points.

PUNK actually has a lot of different lines to take depending on the situation. Watch a good player use the deck and you'll see them do shit like make an Amazing Dragon then use it as fusion material for Rising Carp. It does have a linear standard combo, but you shouldn't/can't always do it.
You can also do a more combo focused variant like the Bystial Assault Synchron builds.

I don't play against troony decks like Floo, Traptrix, or Exosister. If I see one and I can't immediately stomp them into the dust I just scoop. I have no idea how they play and I'm going to keep it that way.
Double is a greedy play that's absurdly telegraphed. It may finish games on turn 2 more often but that doesn't mean it will increase your win rate for a good player.
Also Double or Nothing is a straight garnet, not just a brick.
Sweaty metashit is actually good decks that will theoretically win you most games, not fun petdecks that maybe sometimes will get you a cool win if the opponent lets you

I think the reason why Pends are so annoying to play against is honestly because the way they work is completely different from any other method. They have so many exceptions and conditions that aren't inherent in non-pends. Easy to make mistakes against pend due to this.

It was near mandatory when Tears were crazy but I've been bricking on it more as Tear and Spright matchups are rarer. And even if you run shifter at x2 it isnt a consistent opening and is a brick if you don't open it.
Shifter is good against every deck except Ka$htira but the impact varies. I also don't like opening shifter versus decks that also run shifter like trannies, birds and ka$h

Does your deck hinge on a single ED card? If so, you lose.
Does your deck play important one-ofs? If so, you lose.
There's more, but I think these are the most important ones. Keep in mind that Kash is so obscenely powerful that Auroradon turbo and the associated cancer is a back up plan rather than the goal.

Visas is emotionless so he goes to a bunch of planets to find his alternate selves who are all rulers of planets based on the 6 major emotions
After he turns the fear Visas (Reichhart) into a funkopop he lands in depressionland (Tearlaments) but before he can turn Reinoheart into a nendoroid the street shitters from the angry planet (Kashtira) show up and cuck Visas by kidnapping Kitkallos so now he has to go save her or something

Rulkallos fights Unicorn, a soldier.
The only one that gets taken is Reinoheart's body.
Visas is fighting the Kashtira to get it back but also because Riseheart is a schizophrenic lunatic who believes he's the main Visas and that Visas himself is a fake, so he's using his forces to seize power so he can absorb it, which he can't do naturally (as he's only a fragment, not the real deal) so he forcibly does it with a machine, turning into Ariseheart.

When Ariseheart is defeated it immediately goes to the next chapter (Mannadium) because trying to absorb Riseheart's body while Reinoheart's merged with it causes Visas to mutate into a gigantic monstrosity that attacks the next one, who kicks him in the head and restores him.
That's disappointing. It will probably be a few years if ever to see some more kashtira monster cards get released.
Not necessarily, major card stories tend to revisit and support archetypes midway through quite a bit, even if it's not GOOD support.
For example, the Abyss plot slowly added Icejade more and more, drastically changing the deck's playstyle until it finally settled on L10 Water Synchro as the main goal, largely getting rid of the old wincon of being a poor quality Stun deck that had to get 3 cards on the field just to put up Skill Drain with a monster that had to attack in Def position.
Or we'll go back a little further, to the WL era. Orcust got Orcust Mekk-Knight at the end, and Orcust Knightmare before that.
Or even earlier, to DT. The Vylon allies all got new support for their archetypes.
Of course this doesn't mean Kashtira is first in line though, and even if they got new support it'd just be either A) a new soldier (i.e. same type as Fenrir, Unicorn, and Ogre) or B) a useless Riseheart retrain where he's no longer schizo.

Since Lady and Big Welcome got released, pure Labrynth has been the most popular deck, with some decks only carrying one Skill Drain and/or Rivalry because they have the deck space, and still those are usually taken out in favor of Ishizu shufflers and Bystials. The only floodgate they all carry is D. Barrier. Labrynth has almost 100% switched to full control.
They did and it saw success. It's a weird build because it cuts down on some Lab 3-ofs.

Generally because of archetypes they try and reduce the amount of words that could be used for future archetypes (hence stupid shit like Vaylantz) and while they still replace Japanese joke names with stupid stuff like You're Finished for Kiriban, it's uncertain as to if they'll keep the Gerpanese mess on the new Yubel or make it a callback to Ultimate Nightmare and Terror Incarnate by calling it something like The Ultimate Love Incarnation.

Yeah, you have to be able to run pure MP2 to get any value out of Evenly, it's what balances it. If you're running a glass cannon deck or some shit then it's basically useless.

when it comes to things like accesscode or monsters whose summons don't start a chain, yes. You lose a lot of time if you always have it on though so I don't just always have toggle on.
It’s an inherent summon, not an effect to summon. Kind of like how you can just overlay any 2 levels 4’s for exciting knight, and have to contend with a board wipe.
Block Dragon summoning itself does not start a chain. You just banish 3 and summon it.
"On" asks you if you want to activate a card or effect whenever you are able to. IE, you have Called By The Grave set and your opponent has any monster in their graveyard, whenever you have priority it will ask you "Do you want to activate this card NOW?" So it is better but it will ALWAYS ask you and that can be really annoying and your opponent might figure out what card it's asking you about. On the other hand if you leave it on Auto and only switch it to On when you feel like you need to, you might miss your window just because it takes time to switch.

Yeah, it's a fun game. I come from a fighting game background so I'm used to getting my ass beat repeatedly and it doesn't tilt me anymore, and in MD if there's nothing I can do or I just don't feel like playing against a certain matchup I can just scoop and be in another game in less than 30 seconds. The game is really generous with how it handles dailies so when I'm feeling burnt out I can just log on to collect them and spend maybe 20 minutes once every 3 days doing them all while I play something else. It's nice

I like it but I also play at low ranks where I can use my (usually) cheaper meme decks. If I run into anything overly oppressive I just leave and queue up again, takes less than 10 seconds to get into a new duel and deranking isn't a punishment for me since I'm not grinding ranked. Once every couple of months I pull on the latest meta shit just to experience it. The game gives you so much free currency it's easy to have enough gems hoarded for it.

Typically they're just regular cards but with a small shiny stamp identifying them as a promotional card.
For example, they gave out a Fennekin card with the logo of the set stamped onto the art box of the card. The card is just a foil promo stamp variant of an identical Common from the same set.
There's fancier promos but these are the bulk of the actual live distribution ones.

GAYE's manga is a disaster, they should just axe it and make a Witchcrafter manga instead

Anyway, why always Witchcrafter? It feels like there's one WC fan who really hates Strikers, and I say that knowing SS is super fricking hated overall anyway. A WC manga wouldn't be able to slot into the same target demographic as this. They picked Striker because it was relatively popular, very "safe," and it had both pretty girls and a focus on action so it could easily run in a boys manga magazine. If they were to end Striker, the next in line would not be Witchcrafter, they might be a footnote in the Endy story. Realistically the next candidates are more likely to be something like Dinomorphia where it has a modicum of cool factor in addition to the pretty factor.

Are there any decent decks with a lot of options? I mean like if I open a decent hand there's multiple combos or end boards I can make? I've tried Live Twins and Punk and they're fun and all but I feel like I just do the exact same combo every game and I kinda want some more varied interactions for when I play with friends. I don't mind straightforward decks in ladder where it's over in 3-4 turns anyway and I just want to get it over with for the pass points.

PUNK actually has a lot of different lines to take depending on the situation. Watch a good player use the deck and you'll see them do shit like make an Amazing Dragon then use it as fusion material for Rising Carp. It does have a linear standard combo, but you shouldn't/can't always do it.
You can also do a more combo focused variant like the Bystial Assault Synchron builds.

Yeah, there is the "right" way to play the deck, but that's every deck. There isn't really anything that just lets you do your own thing on the go and still win

I don't play against troony decks like Floo, Traptrix, or Exosister. If I see one and I can't immediately stomp them into the dust I just scoop. I have no idea how they play and I'm going to keep it that way.

Double is a greedy play that's absurdly telegraphed. It may finish games on turn 2 more often but that doesn't mean it will increase your win rate for a good player.
Also Double or Nothing is a straight garnet, not just a brick.
