It's definitely frontloaded with anime plot but the game at its core is a loot treadmill/grindathon. The PvP mode is isolated from all that with its own gear and progression so jumping ship there ASAP is an option (or would be if it had enough players)
THe problem is that they frontload the skippable story onto you but shove like 80 hrs of combat behind the story. It's a weird reverse 13 sentinel situation.

>One guy is b***hing about how the characters are anime characters.
Why can't someone hate that? Anime is repulsive, especially if it's tryhard, cliche anime.
The gameplay loop is fun if you like grinding for loot and there is a shitload of content. The story is interesting and they managed to make an actual good pc port on their first try. So yes.
People usually join pretty fast since the roulette option will just drop them into whatever and gives currency when grinding out that mode. If you get mvp in an online mission you get extra legendaries.
Once you hit the story from X you get 4 difficulty levels immediately instead of being locked at normal and the first mission can go up to level 65. Leveling also starts to slow down at around 40 so it doesn't feel as bad to grind before finishing it all.
>teamup with nothing but console folks > Slap the shit outta steambros
I didnt see that coming

yea, if you actually played the game instead of complaining then you'd know that the game is based on the anime. i dont know why you keep coming back to every single thread if you dont even want to touch the game at all, you're just seething.
Are you pressing buttons during the anime? If not, then it's not gameplay related, and it's DEFINITELY not gameplay discussion. It's like saying that we should be allowed to discuss the Super Mario Bros movie because it's based on a game, and the thread just becomes a porn dump.

But we did get Mario movie threads when it released and half of them was porn dumps of Peach

Plus as a mech game it probably has most of its users in Japan which means Switch > PS5 > Steam. My biggest concern is that low Steam sales mean Level-5 won't bother with PC ports in future.
>I won... Little shit better recognise
What did he mean by this?
I don't get colosseum how do you play it? I keep getting shot when I go in
>I don't get colosseum how do you play it?
Like a fricking rat, the best defence against getting shot to shit is breaking line of sight when you can so you're not exposed to their whole team at once. So flank, kite, snipe with a good gun etc.
Also look for the volley attacks in the motherboard section and equip those, they're on a fast cooldown and let you arc AoEs over elevations
I'm sure unga bunga melee is viable but it probably needs decent parts and upgrades so you don't instantly explode
There's so many fricking playstyles to develop it's a bit crazy
Thank God for the auto mod and motherboard or my dumbass would get nowhere
Is there anything that makes greatswords not suck?
They're so slow and you can't even combo mid-air with them, your fastest attack is a jumping downswing like it's Dragon's Dogma 1 Warrior without any of the cool shit
>in cover trying to contest a legendary box spawn while my team is fricking around on the other side of the map >they get it >giant laser beam starts to lock onto me >then a second one >then a third one

>in cover trying to contest a legendary box spawn while my team is fricking around on the other side of the map
Is that how that procs? I got those rainbow boxes but have no clue whats up.
I am never getting out of bronze
2/3rds of my matches have my teammates instantly decimated, I follow shortly after and then we're spawn camped into a sub-2 minute loss
>unlocking weapon combos is usually like 20 basic material with a couple rarer materials >until you get a lance and then you need 300+ basic materials and 40 rare ones for each combo
Yeah, the gameplay itself seems okay, but there's 500 hours of cutscenes and only maybe 10 hours of gameplay, and that's being generous.Oh, and the cutscenes invade the gameplay and those aren't skippable.
The game intrigues me but I read the story gets in the way of the gameplay like too many cutscenes and whatnot.
Nah the bulk of the missions and content in this game are after the story and the game becomes more of a freeplay a large number of diverse missions thing like edf without cutscenes
The biggest con of this game is not just letting you go straight into the missions and instead unlocking them and gameplay mechanics over the course of story mode, which if you aren't enjoying it becomes a slog
I love the story though because it's complete getter tier nonsense and picks the frick up in part 2 and I love it, but getter isn't for everyone.
It'd benefit immensely if it just had story and mission mode be more seperated like pvp mode is.
>Nah the bulk of the missions and content in this game are after the story and the game becomes more of a freeplay a large number of diverse missions thing like edf without cutscenes >but somehow the entire game is ruined if you skip the story and don't care about the plot
What? Who said the game is ruined if you skip cutscenes?
Black person I'm not your mom if you wanna spam skip cutscenes and rush the story to get to the pure mission gameplay no one's gonna fight you and I've yet to see a single person in any thread make the claim the game is ruined by doing so.
I'm arguing the game should've let you skip faster and just go straight into all the missions
Did you respond to me on accident?
>What? Who said the game is ruined if you skip cutscenes?
I've yet to see a post ITT that doesn't put the anime portions on such an insanely high pedestal. Like I can't just fight in a robot, I need some anime chaarcter narrating their whole life story to me, otherwise I'm not "getting the full experience".

Don't worry I fell for his post too last Megaton thread.
It starts slow because it has to introduce all the main characters but then you get a massive chunk of gameplay about 1/3 of the way in after everything is established and the game starts throwing more and more new gameplay mechanics at you.
This is what the mission select screen looks like at 47% of the way through the story. Blue is story missions, green is side missions, red are treasure battles that just give a bunch of materials, purple is group boss fights, and orange is a challenge mission that scales up the more you do it. The map also just unlocked the ability to zoom out and move it around so the big cluster is only 1/4 of the actual map and the rest of it is empty right now.
Is it worth trying to maximize ranged damage instead of just slapping on as much melee damage as possible?
And for that matter, do some special moves count as melee?
I just did a boss and my spinning slash was hitting 21kish then pulled 300% melee damage out of my motherboard and did it again and the spins were hitting 13k so it looks like it does at least for a move that specifically says melee in the description.
>walking treasure chests can randomly spawn >stronger elite versions of enemies can randomly spawn >if you raise the difficulty bosses can be replaced with different recolored versions >korean mmo enchanting system to +10 your gear but your gear doesn't break when you fail
i have just purchased this video game and waiting for it to download
Common thing i've seen people say is that it starts off very easy but a dealbreaker for me will be if it never gets past that point. I'm not expecting or asking for brutal nightmare play-perfectly, but does the content reach a point where you have to actually focus to a degree? I've played Granblue Relink recently so if anyone can compare it to that that would probably be ideal (i found Proud difficulty in Granblue to still be a bit too easy but i think that's mostly because of how fricked Potion Horder Sigil is for the game).
>multiplayer is required for 100% completion
What a shame. I was gonna buy this game but now I'm not gonna.

this is the third time i've seen someone come into a not-gacha game thread (different game each time) and just immediately start whining about gacha games
Thanks. Im taking my sweet time right now getting through story mode since every new chapter just gives me more and more shit to do. Does the game give you a notification before heading into X or no?
>rider kick special only costs 1 gauge and with a 2 second cooldown >have chips that give 15% of what I spend back and 200% gauge charge for 5 seconds after using a special >flying around the screen nonstop kicking
i was going to get it for the co-op but then i heard it's only co-op for side missions and was immediately reminded of Monster Hunter World's co-op so I decided to wait for the game to get cracked
>hype music changes in a fight scene because the protag changes it on his phone >hype music changes in another fight scene because a concert starts playing on a tv in the background
Yeah, it's great. I just need to build so that Breast Fire does more damage, I find myself just using Rocket Punch a lot more often because it does more damage due to the motherboard setup I'm using.
I wish that Getter got Tomahawk Boomerang, that would have been neat.
How enjoyable Is this with a friend? Is there a lot of content? Was thinking of either buying this, granblue relink or possibly helldivers.
I'm a big mech gay so leaning towards this
this and granblue are both single player games that have a lot of multiplayer sidestuff that unlocks as you progress. So you cant just coop from the start.
Early on the endgame bosses will frick you up bad but as you progress and get more optimized you can frick them up. In X they added an ultimate boss who was like Lucilius. He has the unique difficulty of Gigaton and has 3 phases then transforms then once you get his health down to 20% he starts a 5 minute timer to kill him since even the really good players playing perfectly have kill times of like 15 minutes. Im assuming that the lategame of Wired will have something similar.
Theres a megaton of multiplyer stuff in this but you have to go through single player first. Go helldivers if you want coop since it appeals to normalgays more so your friend would probably like it better. Mechas audience are just for dying old men.
>protag screaming screaming at his friend to keep overloading the weapon systems as his friend is in tears about how they are going to die from it >later he stops a missile by cutting it in half with a giant katana >later he demands a jetpack so he can fly into space and use the debris to make a meteor to drop on an enemy spaceship >later he ties his mech to an enemy mech so it cant dodge his shots
I haven't played much but I'm enjoying it. It feels good >from the tutorial you can air juggle the bot and your abilities are quick and easy to link into each other
I'm just not that engaged in the VN running around town bits yet so I'm taking it slow
It looks like weapon skills only apply for the melee and range weapon that are equipped. Since if you hover over the different equipped melee weapons and look at all your active skills the numbers will change.
Then if you go to your ranged weapons and switch what is considered the primary range weapon before going back to the melee weapons the skill change from your range weapon will stay locked in for all three melee weapons. So if you want to use a melee build you still want to find a range weapon that will give you something like crit damage and you can slot mods that will benefit your melee attacks into the gun.
for the starter, very easy side quests, once you unlock a higher difficulty (since i can only select normal for them) can you do them for the first time on higher difficulties or do they need to be completed first?
If you can do them on hard or whatever later as the first time I'll delay them.
It's for making 3 copies so you can use things on all three of your robots at once. Some chips also gain the ability to level up once max out the development count and then also max out their level 4 equivalent further down the skill trees since it's some of the new progression they added in Wired.
Thanks, going beyond 1 is for end game stuff then.
It's for making 3 copies so you can use things on all three of your robots at once. Some chips also gain the ability to level up once max out the development count and then also max out their level 4 equivalent further down the skill trees since it's some of the new progression they added in Wired.
>Hino tells me. While the storyline is being marketed as “complete”, he tells us the team “definitely have plans to continue the game and the story in the future”.
Level 5 always makes good games.
The problem is that when Level 5 smells even the teeniest bit of success, they milk the IP until people get absolutely sick of it and then they pull a Game of Thrones and frick everything up for everyone.

They have a hoe-girlve grudge, may or not apply here.
That make sense, there seems to be quite a lot of hoe-girlve stickers ect.
Even had I purchased the game I'm not engaging with the online multiplayer component.
Is it good
The gameplay loop is fun if you like grinding for loot and there is a shitload of content. The story is interesting and they managed to make an actual good pc port on their first try. So yes.
How is the coop community so far? I plan to go through the story so far since I love the anime.
People usually join pretty fast since the roulette option will just drop them into whatever and gives currency when grinding out that mode. If you get mvp in an online mission you get extra legendaries.
Sounds great. Only problem is i dont wanna be more OP than the story right now.
Once you hit the story from X you get 4 difficulty levels immediately instead of being locked at normal and the first mission can go up to level 65. Leveling also starts to slow down at around 40 so it doesn't feel as bad to grind before finishing it all.
>teamup with nothing but console folks
> Slap the shit outta steambros
I didnt see that coming
Thanks, thats great to know. Man i wonder what the W content will give.
>Defeated
>Crush Assist
>Crushed
Awful term use.
Despite claim of this being a waifu thread there hasn't actually been so much as a single name drop funnily enough.
>Awful term use.
Youre telling me. It is genuinely baffling. It's not like there are nonstop deaths in the story so I dont know what theyre smoking.
Then explain
why cant i not use the "super electromagnetic spin"? i dont know what am i missing, i have it equipped in battle but its not letting me use it.
>how dare people discuss the game
I was told that the V units requires you to straightup be using the V parts to use their specials.
>discuss the game
They literally did not, and just posted anime webms. Come on anon.
What's the difference between the game and the anime plot?
Are you pressing buttons during the anime? If not, then it's not gameplay related, and it's DEFINITELY not gameplay discussion. It's like saying that we should be allowed to discuss the Super Mario Bros movie because it's based on a game, and the thread just becomes a porn dump.
But we did get Mario movie threads when it released and half of them was porn dumps of Peach
And that wasn't okay. It was just off topic non-game discussion.
>And that wasn't okay.
S1 of the anime's a bit better paced than the game imo
Also megane and his mommy gf clearly frick in that whereas I heard they toned it down in the game
>I heard they toned it down in the game
(i'm not up to that part yet)
I mean they frick in the game too ya know because they have a baby but still
I think the game has a better script I mean grieffas just spergs out and kill sarzant in the anime
yea, if you actually played the game instead of complaining then you'd know that the game is based on the anime. i dont know why you keep coming back to every single thread if you dont even want to touch the game at all, you're just seething.
>endgame motherboard slots
The third line of text means you need to be using a full set of the parts so you need to use the crossover robots to use their special moves.
This is some Navi Customizer shit. Call me intrigued.
Blessed customisation autism
Glancing at the skill tree I thought they'd overdone it, but if you can use that many nodes at once later on it makes sense
Is it just me or are there more consolebros than steamies in colosseum? Maybe overall sales aren't quite as bad as
looks
People probably bought it on switch. Always remember that the switch tends to mog most platforms because of the really large userbase.
I dont think you can actually use cross save when transferring from X to Wired so they end up sticking with the system they have.
Like a fricking rat, the best defence against getting shot to shit is breaking line of sight when you can so you're not exposed to their whole team at once. So flank, kite, snipe with a good gun etc.
Also look for the volley attacks in the motherboard section and equip those, they're on a fast cooldown and let you arc AoEs over elevations
I'm sure unga bunga melee is viable but it probably needs decent parts and upgrades so you don't instantly explode
>What did he mean by this?
"It is high time those aliggers realize their women belong to human wiener."
Getter Robo doesn't rocket punch you stupid fricking fake fan
i've never watched the anime, this game is my first exposure of the series.
Read the manga.
im good bro, i'll stick with the game's rendition.
The jap lag is brutal
You can boost out the instant you see a bombardment circle and you'll still get hit once you're clear
I don't get colosseum how do you play it? I keep getting shot when I go in
It's a slower area control game. You dont just rush in and swing you use cover and take shots while trying to get the super move boxes.
>wondered why sword and shield even exist when you could just use dual blades
>perfect parry and a counter followup appear on the skilltree
That's the good shit
There's so many fricking playstyles to develop it's a bit crazy
Thank God for the auto mod and motherboard or my dumbass would get nowhere
Is there anything that makes greatswords not suck?
They're so slow and you can't even combo mid-air with them, your fastest attack is a jumping downswing like it's Dragon's Dogma 1 Warrior without any of the cool shit
probably if you go all in on the skills that give you bonuses for charge attacks.
I'm a bit wary of modern level 5 stuff, but this seems pretty fun
where do I find the 3 people needed for the perfect voice quest?
You can change the quest objective to sidequests so it tells you exactly where to go. Or look around the school.
Frick, how do you access the skill tree again? I have so much menus i keep looping back.
I got lost too it's in the Labotory menu on the right
Thanks. Im glad to know theres so much goddamn customization that you lose sight of where to go.
>do you want the pure and cute idol to be your navigator
>or a prostitute
I'll take the bawd kid
>need to find the perfect voice for a little girl
>it's Ryugo's mom
so who is the best girl?
>in cover trying to contest a legendary box spawn while my team is fricking around on the other side of the map
>they get it
>giant laser beam starts to lock onto me
>then a second one
>then a third one
>Get the fist special
>enemy runs behind cover to avoid GIANT FRICKING FIST
>I didnt launch it yet so i just walk right next to the cover
>he walks out thinking it is done
>FIRE
>in cover trying to contest a legendary box spawn while my team is fricking around on the other side of the map
Is that how that procs? I got those rainbow boxes but have no clue whats up.
watching the anime there's a lot of unnecessary deaths like seriously why didn't she eject?
I am never getting out of bronze
2/3rds of my matches have my teammates instantly decimated, I follow shortly after and then we're spawn camped into a sub-2 minute loss
I never do ranked pvp for that reason since it is a numbers game and an exercise in patience.
>unlocking weapon combos is usually like 20 basic material with a couple rarer materials
>until you get a lance and then you need 300+ basic materials and 40 rare ones for each combo
fine i'll use it later
The game intrigues me but I read the story gets in the way of the gameplay like too many cutscenes and whatnot.
Yeah, the gameplay itself seems okay, but there's 500 hours of cutscenes and only maybe 10 hours of gameplay, and that's being generous.Oh, and the cutscenes invade the gameplay and those aren't skippable.
>Nah the bulk of the missions and content in this game are after the story and the game becomes more of a freeplay a large number of diverse missions thing like edf without cutscenes
>but somehow the entire game is ruined if you skip the story and don't care about the plot
hmmmm.....
Like I can't just fight in a robot, I need some anime chaarcter narrating their whole life story to me, otherwise I'm not "getting the full experience".
anon don't respond to him. He;ll just point to some random anon that called him stupid use that as an excuse.
God damnit I forgot I'm on Ganker, and that he existed in all mecha threads, my bad ill self detonate now
Always assume stupid shit like that is shitposting.
It's funny really. He could have skipped the cutscenes and enjoyed the mecha fights and most of use would have been fine with it but all he does is shitpost.
>It's funny really. He could have skipped the cutscenes and enjoyed the mecha fights and most of use would have been fine with it
Why do you lie? I've been called a troony just for saying things like "the mech gameplay looks okay, but I hate the story".
Don't worry I fell for his post too last Megaton thread.
Stop responding to the shchizo. Jesus christ man.
Don't reply to ACgay, he will beat your down with his stupidity. DO NOT respond. Let him rot.
>wanting gameplay discussion makes you ACgay
It starts slow because it has to introduce all the main characters but then you get a massive chunk of gameplay about 1/3 of the way in after everything is established and the game starts throwing more and more new gameplay mechanics at you.
This is what the mission select screen looks like at 47% of the way through the story. Blue is story missions, green is side missions, red are treasure battles that just give a bunch of materials, purple is group boss fights, and orange is a challenge mission that scales up the more you do it. The map also just unlocked the ability to zoom out and move it around so the big cluster is only 1/4 of the actual map and the rest of it is empty right now.
wtf. the whole bottom right circuit tree gives you a lot of new combos, i dont know how im gonna keep up with all of these
so is it like monster hunter with mechs?
More like custom robo beat em up.
Different anon but thats nice to know. Thank you.
>slice off a persons arms
>imprison them
>instead of handcuffs just tie their dangling sleeves together
fricking level 5
>fisher price gundam
this board is fricking pathetic
Looks interesting enough, I'll give it a shot.
>furry alien wife
>walking treasure chests can randomly spawn
>stronger elite versions of enemies can randomly spawn
>if you raise the difficulty bosses can be replaced with different recolored versions
>korean mmo enchanting system to +10 your gear but your gear doesn't break when you fail
finally the big robot pso2 i've been waiting for
i have just purchased this video game and waiting for it to download
Common thing i've seen people say is that it starts off very easy but a dealbreaker for me will be if it never gets past that point. I'm not expecting or asking for brutal nightmare play-perfectly, but does the content reach a point where you have to actually focus to a degree? I've played Granblue Relink recently so if anyone can compare it to that that would probably be ideal (i found Proud difficulty in Granblue to still be a bit too easy but i think that's mostly because of how fricked Potion Horder Sigil is for the game).
>but does the content reach a point where you have to actually focus to a degree
Yes since enemies starts shitting all over you later.
Good
>multiplayer is required for 100% completion
What a shame. I was gonna buy this game but now I'm not gonna.
DEVS. KEEP YOUR GAMES *SINGLEPLAYER ONLY*. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Who will buy a fricking gacha game
this is the third time i've seen someone come into a not-gacha game thread (different game each time) and just immediately start whining about gacha games
>Lance builds up an aura as you attack and then cash it out with a charged up stab
This is a lot cooler than the other weapons
i always play lance in monster hunter i guess i cannot escape my fate
When do you even get a lance anyway?
You dont get your first one until chapter 13 since they added it in X.
Thanks. Im taking my sweet time right now getting through story mode since every new chapter just gives me more and more shit to do. Does the game give you a notification before heading into X or no?
What weapon best suit Mazinger Z?
fists while building around special attacks to spam rocket punch.
Also uses a sword sometimes.
Sorry, I'm playing mecha break atm. Feel free to buy Megaton for me tho
>rider kick special only costs 1 gauge and with a 2 second cooldown
>have chips that give 15% of what I spend back and 200% gauge charge for 5 seconds after using a special
>flying around the screen nonstop kicking
You get me a webm right now anon, I gotta see this
There's a slower stronger meteor kick but it doesn't have the same spammability or distance
Dang look at you go
Can you go full melee and just punch and kick everything to death?
There's fist weapons you can use, though if you want to just spam SP moves you'll have to build for a while before you can do that.
There's fist weapons and one of the combos ends with kicking and multiple kick based special moves.
see
there's also multiple cheap skills with melee focus and i believe the bottom right circuit tree lets you get more combos.
Play Armored Core
i was going to get it for the co-op but then i heard it's only co-op for side missions and was immediately reminded of Monster Hunter World's co-op so I decided to wait for the game to get cracked
>hype music changes in a fight scene because the protag changes it on his phone
>hype music changes in another fight scene because a concert starts playing on a tv in the background
soul
Don't care.
I'll only wait for Decapolice
Level-5 is trash
>I need a symbol
>something the aliens will learn to fear
Sometimes I wonder if I'm missing something by just piloting Mazinger Z and ROCKET PUNCHing everything.
You get special moves that other people dont get so it balances out.
Are there bosses on the level of the Proud difficulty Relink fights (or harder)?
I would like to smash my face against a boss 20 times while i learn its' moveset before i even have a chance of defeating it.
Im assuming that the lategame of Wired will have something similar.
sick
Theres a megaton of multiplyer stuff in this but you have to go through single player first. Go helldivers if you want coop since it appeals to normalgays more so your friend would probably like it better. Mechas audience are just for dying old men.
>protag screaming screaming at his friend to keep overloading the weapon systems as his friend is in tears about how they are going to die from it
>later he stops a missile by cutting it in half with a giant katana
>later he demands a jetpack so he can fly into space and use the debris to make a meteor to drop on an enemy spaceship
>later he ties his mech to an enemy mech so it cant dodge his shots
dude is a fricking psychopath
Wait till you see how he forms musashi x under fire, behind enemy line, while the getter team says hes fricking crazy.
>martial arts tomboy selected
>fists equipped in every slot
>kicks equipped as every special
No one gives a shit about nipnog Bing Bing wahoo tranime arcade kiddie slasher with robot skins. Should've made a real mech game instead.
You seem to be mistaking the game we're discussing.
is there anything like a .ini tweak you can make to make the game run above 60 fps in combat?
The game has an fps setting but it seems to only effect the fps in menus/in the hub, combat is always 60.
>thought people were just misinterpreting the challenge missions when they talked about a roguelike mode
>there is actually a roguelike mode
when do you unlock this? this is really cool if true
Niche game of the fricking decade
I haven't played much but I'm enjoying it. It feels good
>from the tutorial you can air juggle the bot and your abilities are quick and easy to link into each other
I'm just not that engaged in the VN running around town bits yet so I'm taking it slow
why does every adult want to bang a middle schoole in this gamer? lol
Do you benefit from all equipped mods or only from the mods on your currently equipped melee+ranged weapon?
If you can do them on hard or whatever later as the first time I'll delay them.
difficulty levels are tied to story progression not completion so you will end up having 4 difficulties available even if you haven't done them.
What does development count mean in the motherboard upgrading?
I think it means the more you put into it, the stronger it gets.
They wiped all the multiplayer trophies with this new version.
It's like they already knew.
>this or Toriyama's last game
>I'm only going to get one
weird release timing tbh
>Hino tells me. While the storyline is being marketed as “complete”, he tells us the team “definitely have plans to continue the game and the story in the future”.
I wonder how much they are going to add
get asmongold to watch a video on it, that will sort you out.
Did Level 5 finally make a good game?
With a western PC release at that, it's hard to believe
Level 5 always makes good games.
The problem is that when Level 5 smells even the teeniest bit of success, they milk the IP until people get absolutely sick of it and then they pull a Game of Thrones and frick everything up for everyone.
>your robot is already capable of permanent flight
>but we built you this cool hoverboard anyways
I just realised you can do a normal boost by pushing the stick in
All this time I've been doing the dodge boost to get everywhere
There's already people running around with bullshit moves in Colosseum
I'd play the story but I'm scared of falling behind online
You're a year behind since you could transfer progress from X
And the pve can drop pvp gear
>You're a year behind since you could transfer progress from X
So that's where all these meme mech japs are coming from, I thought they'd just been poopsocking for the last couple of days
yeah we're not getting FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time on steam anytime soon
