I always think it’s funny how fast this scene goes, it even skips the sound effect and shot of the rail holding Kraid up being shot
Raven Beak would probably be equal to the Didact, we also don't know who the strongest of the Endless will be yet. He'll probably do well against the Flood as long as his suit isn't damaged. With Chief and Samus, they would be equal, especially post-Dread Samus given that the process of her becoming a Metroid was stopped completely by QR-X
Chief wouldn’t take even one energy tank off Samus, the tech disparity is extreme.
>more Thoha/Mawkin settlements in the galaxy >Space Pirates are gone but their species most likely still exist, what if they return under a new banner with new leaders? >Did some X escape ZDR >will we get another Chozo AI as powerful as Mother Brain? >Who and what is the Exelion Star Corporation? >was the process of Samus becoming a Metroid halted or did she gain some control over it similar to her connection to the Metroid Hatchling? >how are Samus and Adam even going to properly report the Dread incident to the Federation? >will Samus's fully repaired suit look like it did in the past or will it be the Dread suit but without the exposed organic components?
So what's next for Samus in Dread's sequel?
Looking forward to seeing the suit finish regrowing, that’s a great payoff setup for two games now. No interest in Federation politics, clear that the devs feel the same way. Only big setup left is the mystery figure in the final memory. I’ve seen theories revolving around the ships being absent during the escape sequence, not sure I buy that one. I find it almost impossible to believe RBs dead man switch doesn’t extend to the ships.
>Chief wouldn’t take even one energy tank off Samus, the tech disparity is extreme.
That means jackshit when Chief goes against and crushes advance alien tech all the time far more advanced than anything the UNSC/Covenant/Banished have. He was tanking Warden's Blackhole Bombs in Halo 5 and Wraith mortars are as hot as the Sun and Chief was tanking those in his weakest armor without shields. You underestimate Chief too much who now has the ability to permanently upgrade his shields and make them stronger. Before the upgrade, he was able to tank Gravity Hammer shots both with shields and without them. He can also tank Monitor Beams which atomizes targets.
Samus can shit out mini nukes, black holes and solar flares.
Master chief would be quite fricked. Especially if the grapple beam gets axed for grapple lasso as it should be.
>343
In Bungie's lore Chief was tanking 6 Hunter Assault Cannons, Plasma Grenades, falling from space, and was as acrobatic as an anime character. Literally nothing is different, the fact that in Bungie canon he could tank Forerunner lasers that can vaporize anything says enough. He was also able to flip tanks and you can take the Elephant however you feel. Chief was always bullshit, even before 343.
All these images felt like bullshit to me. Realistically there's no actual way that Samus could fit in and operate these suits unless it involved dislocating all her limbs or something.
All these images felt like bullshit to me. Realistically there's no actual way that Samus could fit in and operate these suits unless it involved dislocating all her limbs or something.
She mostly fits it in Dread, the suit's arms are longer than hers though and the helmet is too small, basically, the same problem that Master Chief's suit has.
That's a problem with pretty much any power armor. If you look at cosplays or the like, it becomes immediately obvious that the proportions are fudged for the sake of a cool design.
The suits have always been rule of cool, trying to actually fit Samus into it is dumb because it heavily slenders it and makes the proportions less cool. It's what happened with the Dread suit.
Always weird how redditors keep trying to say Samus should realistic troony proportions when Samus is a glorified magical school girl that summons a suit but in space
>People try and have it "make sense"
To a degree. Mind you, the suit could just turn her into a giant Dyson Sphere instead of an armoured knight, as that would be abstract.
>Modified Hybrid
what qualifies for a hybrid though when you got a shit ton of FRICKED genes all intermingled together, and possibly even slightly fricked up with all that phazon she took in?
Shit, now-a-days she's more closely related to Dark Samus than she ever had been to begin with, throw some more phazon in her and you'd essentially have a lesser clone of Dark Samus
Metroid Genetics are weird but fascinating, its like dark souls lore, there's just too much autism to get into there
I wonder if a future metroid game could take advantage of that
Maybe just straight up give Samus ANOTHER version of a Metroid Trigger that just turns her into Dark Samus
would be interesting
The mentality of "shes a cool woman space warrior, she must be gay" pisses me right the frick off. Fricking "progressives" leaving a trail of noxious slime on everything they touch
>walks like a woman >wants to be a mother >is attracted to guys >wears make up >keeps her hair long
Why do the lgbtq+ think Samus is a troony or a dyke who hates men? It's shit like this as to why I hate homosexuals/trannies.

The main issue with the proportions has always been the chest and shoulders. Even the much slimmer Dread Suit wold require Samus to straight up dislocate her arms to realistically fit the onscreen proportions. You either gotta cope with LOLBIRDMAGIC, or just don't think about it too much.
Samus shoulders don't go in the orbs but again, the suit's arms are longer than her arms, everyone just goes with she fits the suit and calls it a day.
Replayed AM2R and Dread not too long ago to scratch the Metroid itch, had a good time. Honestly though I'm just on copium that we'll get some news about Prime 4 sometime this year.
I can't help but feel like scientists are always bugging her for a DNA sample, cause they want to study how the hell she hasn't collapsed into a pile of goo.
Most I've seen White e-celebs post said 100% European DNA. In the case of Samus, thats just a Jap game dev thing, they nearly always write any clearly pure White character as "achthually, they are part grorious nipponese" because apparently market research shows that japs will buy your game less if the main character has no Japanese heritage.
Thats why Snake is retconned into being part jap too, even though he looks 100% White. Also why Big Boss, the much cooler character with a more interesting life, is not even 10% as popular of a character, because he is canonically 100% White. Instantly makes him uninteresting to Jap bugmen.
>Also why Big Boss, the much cooler character with a more interesting life, is not even 10% as popular of a character, because he is canonically 100% White.

Nothing about what I said is political, it was mere facts about why Jap devs write White characters as "hapa" even though they don't look like it. This is common knowledge for people who play games, which you don't do of course.
False. No party of the chart says Yeehaw yet Retro Studios is based in Texas. Seriously though, if they weren't taking the piss, then man they are dumb.
>white >blond hair >blue eyes
Samus is American, her originally being based on American actresses proves this, plus Japan always makes Americans white with blond hair and blue eyes.
That has to be the case. like her power suit and super human abilities? sure, bird science did it. when they injected her with Metroid DNA from THE BABY, they did it as an X vaccine. then the woman became genetically the same as a metroid. so they must be like "okay, so we don't have bio bird tech, and now that we think about it no one in the Galaxy can make Samus tier biotech, so what the bloody frick is she made out of.
>all the morons wondering why there's no USA in this
Have you morons never seen a heritage test before? Even actual americans get west/north europe, etc because genetically whites don't actually fricking come from north america.
i know you're joking but I remember when literally wu tried to force this conspiracy like a right-winger with something to sell. basically making an article where she said Samus, like poison, was stated to be a newhalf in a design doc. i guess she wanted to imitate how everyone eventually agreed poison had a dick. then she started vandalizing every wiki and open-source character bio and sourcing herself first trying to say its fact then trying to make it seem at least controversial. wikipedia locked samus for almost a year and banned her IP and some of her fans from editing.
No. In the Japanese Super Metroid Strategy Guide, there was a developer interview included. Alongside it, profiles for the game's developers. Each staff member was asked a "Secret of Samus that only I know" and the cheeky frick Masuoka Hirofumi said that Samus was a newhalf. The Metroid Database translated this as "she's actually a shemale."
This can be taken with the same grain of salt as "Samus reconstituted her genetic condition" at the end of Fusion, another developer interview comment which turned out to be false once Dread rolled around. If it's not in-game, it's not canon. But plenty of people take it as such anyway.
Sakamoto is word of god, he said Samus isn't a troony, he's also the one that said Samus reconstituted her DNA, that part is canon and it's in Dread, why do you think her Power Suit is repairing itself? Artbook even shows the game was originally going to use endgame Fusion Suit which once again makes it apparent that it's canon. >By absorbing the core of SA-X (Samus in perfect condition), her constitution has fundamentally restored. The physical damage could not be recovered like a cut out suit, but the constitution could be restored.
http://metroid.jp/metroid_version2/development/faq4.html#stage04
Google translated version since the Metroid Database one has problems, primary example is the website censoring the PS2 Answer from Sakamoto which confirmed that Samus was never a troony.
It was never stated that she was no longer weak against cold, nor did it state that she lost her Metroid DNA, in Fusion, you literally see that the suit keeps it's Metroid characteristics at the end of the game. Not my fault you believe a bunch of morons that got confused by Fusion's ending and Sakamoto's interview and spent years, believing your own farts trying to shove it into some canon that never existed.
You're so focused on the statement that you don't even remember what the question was. >In Metroid Fusion, it should have been set that "Samus who inherited the nature of Metroid can no longer use the ice beam", but why was it okay to regain the ice beam at the end?
She was so weak to cold that she couldn't use the Ice Beam. By the end of the game she regains the ability to use the Ice Beam, therefore implying that she's no longer weak to cold as a whole. And Sakamoto's answer "perfect condition" supports that.
And Dread throws it all out. homosexual.

She absorbed her complete self thus fixing her issues with the Ice Beam and slowing down the process of her becoming a Metroid while also regaining her Mawkin. Why do you think her current suit inherits the color scheme of the original over the Fusion Suit's?

Keep crying that your manga isn't canon, even Chozo names don't match up with game names. Was Old Bird always old?
The manga is canon. I don't understand you people and how you somehow don't see one form of media as valid.
Like with dragon ball and people legitimately thinking the manga is non canon because it's not animated. In no world is that true except in the mind of an imbecile who for some reason simply refuses to accept that ink on paper matters in any capacity. It's like thinking there's no way that a dog could have feelings because you consider it to be such a low life form that it barely counts as living. You have to be extra stupid and extra up your own ass to be like this >But the logo is different!!1!!1!2!2!112!
So fricking what? No shit it's not 1 to 1, who gives a shit that it doesn't LOOK the same, that doesn't affect the story at all.
And if you're one of those morons who think it makes samus look bad like other m, you're worse than the brain dead imbeciles who disregard important things they don't consider them important

ZM/the metroid manga repurposed elements from that comic and made them canon, so yes parts of that comic were materialized as canon. But nevermind that, the fact is that they're in the games

Magazine Z manga didn't make shit canon, Metroid made things canon, Metroid II made things canon, Super Metroid made things canon, Metroid Fusion made things canon, Zero Mission made things canon, Samus Returns made things canon, Dread made things canon. Prime series is more canon than the manga because Sakamoto works with that series as a supervisor.

This is why people hate the manga, unfortunately because they hate other m.
In this scene Samus is FOURTEEN and seeing ridley again after last seeing him eat her parents and then try to eat her. She later overcomes this fear and decides to help the universe.
In other m she killed ridley like 4 times but still broke down like when she was 14. That's why people hate it, and they apply it to the manga even though it's a different scene set in a different time that shows how Samus became a badass rather than making badass Samus look weak

She had to retreat once against Ridley as an adult. A fight that she did in the base Power Suit. I think the Grey Voice thing is a bit of a Dues Ex Machina, but I wouldn't describe her as whining for him. She does talk a bit, but that's probably a natural consquence of showing her outside of battle. She doesn't really lose her cool in battle until she shits herself during the first Ridley encounter.

Yea, but I asked you to explain why she was still a weak moron as an adult in the manga. You said that she got constantly kicked around as an adult to which I replied that she only lost to Ridley once as an adult and had to retreat, due to still being in her Power Suit. I had to read through the Ridley fight to make this point, and yeah, she does talk a lot during it. Way too much imo. How is it bad to show how a strong character became strong? So what if she was already strong, we didn't know how she got that way, now we do. And as an adult in the manga she's not weak. She's a big tough badass who is literally game samus. She doesn't speak, does her job and does it without hesitation.

The manga isn't good but it shows Samus becoming strong, so, it's NOTHING like other m.
Sakamoto was just a moron who tried to ape the manga in a game set far far far far past that time and it didn't work

TELL ME, NOW! If you don't know shit about Metroid lore, do me and every else here a favor and just shut the frick up.
And this is why we keep it simple. If it's not in the game, it's not canon. Look up a little something called "death of the author"

but it is in the game, fusion's ending implies samus's genes are fixed, you don't need the post release interview with sakamoto to tell you that. It's another retcon with dread
>death of the author
I don't think you know what that means
This is exactly why I want future Metroids to have way less story.
I'm not Acgay, I love Metroid's story, but it's clear that Sakamoto's storytelling has gotten worse. The picking and choosing of what to take from outside material and not, past interviews that are now influx of how canon it is, Prime's existence has made the lore sketchy, and of course Other M is canon which is all sorts of weird, and ton of Dread's lore is weird and retroactive.

I wonder what Raven Beak's role in Samus' childhood was. Like I know that they won't explain it further, matter of fact I like that the only part the explained was that she has his DNA, but part of me wonders if he was involved in her life past that.

Raven Beak heard the Thoha were dumping their genes in a war refugee and barged in on them, demanding he add his bird juice to the mix. And that’s about it, he fricked off without explanation.

But Mawkin were also present on Zebes, given the different Chozo statues and Chozodia which also depict Chozo with wings like Raven Beak. The Thoha served the Mawkin.

The Mawkin and Thoha seemed to be on good terms, at least to begin with. I don’t think one ever served the other, at least not in terms of being submissive. The Chozo memories in SR showed the Thoha working together with the Mawkin and greeting Raven Beak warmly, his betrayal pretty obviously wasn’t expected. I got the impression RB was essentially working alone and the other Mawkin went along with it because of their rigid military doctrine, dissenters got fed to sea monsters after all.

Seem kind of hard to do when the Metroids had already evolved and turned on their creators as seen in Samus Returns and Dread.
Let's see here... >he's also the one that said Samus reconstituted her DNA
Yes, and? Still means nothing. Dread ignored it. Samus still has an extreme weakness to cold. How exactly is that "Samus in perfect condition"? Even physical amnesia wouldn't change that.
Also nice google translate link. So how exactly is this "proof" that Samus was never a troony? It's not, really. In fact according to you it's proof that she is troony. Word of god and all that.
Keep it simple, stupid. Not in-game, not canon.
Dread didn't ignore shit. Seems like a joke to tell Snoys to frick off. >Because she absorbed the core of SA-X (Samus of complete condition), her constitution fundamentally returned to its original state. Unlike the Power Suit, physical damage could not be recovered, but the constitution was able to return to its original form.
Stop making this shit complicated, I also fricked up and used Edge in the first link.
Absolutely. Samus baking fresh bread as a hobby is on the same level as her playing the double bass. Strictly speaking, it's not canon, but we all pretend it is.

GBA games getting added to Nintendo Online is more likely than Gamecube games so I'd go with the trilogy
Not that I'd ever pay for that shitty service obv
unless they do something to the 2d metroids to make this new collection worthwhile I'd take prime trilogy any day of the week
samus returns on switch would be nice
yeah but in each iteration they are notable, what I'm saying that the day will come where she is largely flat entirely. I think that's a way more realistic prediction then Nintendo ever letting her be a troony or whatever
You will live long enough to see Samus turned into a black trans woman
Nintendo is too autistic about protecting the image of their characters to let them ever stray away too far from their origins. This is never happening, if there's a company I'm sure about it, that's Nintendo
breasts, Schmitz. What I'm worried about is them ruining her pauldrons. Honestly I don't see them messing with her boobs too much more. They're probably not going to give her the Smash 4 hangers, but making them much smaller would probably make her look too androgynous for Nintendo. Unless they made her more petite, but I'd doubt that. Even if the 6'3 thing isn't canon, she's fairly imposing in the armor, and making her smaller would ruin that effect. Small breasts are based if the nips stick out though. They're more sensitive, so giving girls with small breasts a titty twister makes them go wild.
Who cares how they make her look in Prime, it's not like they'll be her canon look.

Prime has more AAA feel which appeals to casuals, it has more widespread appeal so I will be shocked if it doesn't outsell Dread.
>troony post >best selling
It will sell well, but best selling is jumping the gun.
I don't see how it's jumping the gun. Prime 1 became the best selling despite releasing on GAMECUBE and it took the metric frickton that is the Switch and it's install base to finally dethrone that, but Dread is a 2D game which only has so much appeal in the modern AAA era.
Grand return of Prime which has been built up for years and people demanded even when Retro was making DKC, let's assume gorgeous 3D visuals again, on the Switch, after the release Dread? If no controversies for whatever reason then frankly I would consider Prime 4 a failure if it doesn't outsell Dread by at least a million. There's no reason not too, Prime always had more widespread appeal then 2D Metroid (I don't agree but it is what it is, there's reason why normalgays didn't understand why Dread was called "Metroid 5" and thought they were skipping over "4")

Prime 2 sales make sense, usually sequels on the same hardware have diminishing returns in sales. (Super Mario Land / Wario Land is a good example of this). You also see this with Zero Mission which sales tanked. Though some Switch titles are breaking this trend by selling MORE despite being sequels.
Prime 3 is the better example, which was still outsold by Fusion, but that's due the Wii having a weird market where the casual of casual games sold crazy yet other more hardcore titles were not as great as you'd think considering the install base.

Halo 2 outsold the original Halo on the same console, Zero Mission was a remake, so was Samus Returns, neither were expected to sell Fusion's numbers, Prime 2, Hunters, and Prime 3 should have sold more, if Dread would have released for the DS all those years ago it would have completely outsold Prime Hunters.

You know that Metroid Prime is the number 1 best selling and number 1 highest rated (by users, not journoisraelites) Metroid game of all time, right?
nah, but they will eventually gut her breasts, and redditors will cheer
You trannies irritate the shit out of me, doesn't matter what she looks like in a Prime game, her canon appearance will always be the 2D games. She has big breasts and that's how they're always going to be, Prime 4 be damned.
The issue is that Samus' design still changes slightly in every game even though she got standardized since Zero Mission, Metroid is much more of a western selling franchise and in the west there is a very pervasive, cringeworthy feminist rhetoric surrounding Samus as a character and how many people perceive her in that headcanon, and there's no doubt any western dev that takes part in developing a game surrounding her may have a few of these preconceived notions. We already saw Smash Ultimate course correcting too hard because Smash 4 bimbo her up a tad bit, so there's already precedent and that was a fully Japanese game from a director who know doubt doesn't seem to mind lewd.
Metroid threads always have speculation like this so I apologize if this is derailing, but I do think this is way more realistic then Nintendo ever embracing the troony narrative or race swapping her.
if you get the space jump boots early, jump on the spike to get the magmoor grappling challenge early, and jump on a few tree branches in phendrana depths you cut most of the backtracking out of prime making it a similar experience to SM
Scan-dashing to get the Space Jump Boots early feels like such a power trip. Though it has drawbacks. Learned the hard way that jumping over the barrier to the Morph Ball causes the miniboss music to keep playing forever.
yeah, its nice at keeping chozo from being so boss heavy but getting a good enough jump to bypass the boss music is hard unless you can jump up the half pipe, that not necessarily easier
Very little armor on the neck duh.
It only has that black connective material which most likely only good for some insulation plus sealing the suit so nothing gets in/out and lets it be survivable in space.
>more Thoha/Mawkin settlements in the galaxy >Space Pirates are gone but their species most likely still exist, what if they return under a new banner with new leaders? >Did some X escape ZDR >will we get another Chozo AI as powerful as Mother Brain? >Who and what is the Exelion Star Corporation? >was the process of Samus becoming a Metroid halted or did she gain some control over it similar to her connection to the Metroid Hatchling? >how are Samus and Adam even going to properly report the Dread incident to the Federation? >will Samus's fully repaired suit look like it did in the past or will it be the Dread suit but without the exposed organic components?
So what's next for Samus in Dread's sequel?
>played and finished Dread on Normal and Hard a couple of times shortly after release >want to replay again >download updates >suddenly there's Beginner and Dread mode
Jesus Christ what did I miss and why is there an even easier mode?
Oh, you want to play old games on the new console, and would happily pay for them? WELL FRICK YOU. We're Nintendo, b***h. We will make legally purchasing our games a giant hassle/impossibe, and then sue you into oblivion when you pirate them. And you'll like it, like the little b***h you are. Now kneel down and suck this motherfrickering dick.
Friendly reminder that they WILL reveal that Sylux is Samus' long lost brother Solomon Aran in Metroid Prime 4. Family drama kino is back on the menu, boys.
This would actually be pretty cool. Make it like Rogue Legacy; if you die the run's over, but you can gather resources/some form up upgrades (hp? armor?) that makes your next run easier.
I actually really like the color scheme here, too bad it's associated with troony GARBAGE
Also Samus is properly buff and confident like a badass bounty hunter should be. If the color scheme triggers people they'll just have desaturate the image.
It's alright. Got it for $2. Word of warning to people interested: You have to finish it like three times to get the actual end. Felt pretty deflated when I finally won only to learn that.
It's crazy how strong an antagonist RB is. He's this absolutely perfect foil to Samus in so many ways. She's wienery yet professional, he's powerful yet arrogant. Fricking classic.
Y'know, she shouldn't even be able to raise her arms like this.
Think about it. She raises her arm, where the frick does that giant shoulder mounted ball go? Right into the helmet. So now she has to bend her neck to the side to accommodate her arm but wait! The other giant should mounted ball is in the way! Can't raise her arm anymore.
I looked at it from a side view, Zero Suit Samus is about an inch or two shorter. Not too much of a difference like in that image you just posted, at least she's not painfully short like in Other M and they had the audacity to try to make her match up with her suit in her death animation in Other M.
>I looked at it from this convenient angle
Okay 'tard.
Here's another one if you really want to start coping because your gay fetish isn't actually real. Canonically this puts her around 5'9-5'10 at best.
>not even insulting the guy just stated that she's tall out of the suit now and about an inch or two shorter than the suit >goes full troony schizo mode
Look man, I know you're a manlet but stop acting like a b***h, you make us men look bad.

>now backtracking and saying "or two"
lmao
That is not 2 inches no mater how you slice it, that's easily 3, unless you think the length of Samus's nose in proportion to that gap is like 1-1.5 inches inch long >I know you're a manlet
Ah, so you're one of these homosexuals who likes to RP like he's a 7 foot gigachad and that he would totally dominate an amazon instead of being one of the emasculated shitposter poster homosexuals for the fetish.
Yawn
The lack of texturing here really makes it look as if the Power Suit has heels.
It does, but that doesn't really change anything since the suit itself is 6'3. Her previous suits in other games still have a bit of heel anyway.
I still didn't beat the final boss on dread difficulty.
Other than that I've 100% it.
Really loved the game and I feel like it was worth the price, waiting on news for Prime4. >inb4 never ever
Let me hope.
>inb4 never ever
I don't get why people say this. Nintendo themselves regularly remind us that it's coming and it's always listed in their sales reports as an upcoming game. That and why the frick would Retro still post job openings if they weren#t working on anything.
It's not a never ever yet, it's just that it's taking too fricking long
At this point I'd rather they wait until the switch gets updated hardware or they just release a new console in a 2-3 years with better hardware
I'm not a graphics obsessed moron but it'd be nice if it looked a little nicer on top of actually consistently running at 60fps with no dips
>it's taking too fricking long
Development restarted 3 years ago. If they actually release it next year it's going to be rushed to hell. (Which is exactly what's going to happen, of course.)
You're right about the graphics. There's no way they can make it look great and have it run at 60fps at this point. The Prime games have always been known for their stellar visuals, which is why I'm worried they will turn the graphics up to 11 and go for a smooth and silky cinematic frame rate this time.
>want to get better times for better end screens but that involves learning the game to the point where it's not exploration anymore but routing and following the same path every time
Some schizo moron brought it up after I shitted on him with Zero Mission images depicting early Thoha and Mawkin tribes. Why do people dick suck that manga so hard, it's not even good?
>Why do people dick suck that manga so hard, it's not even good?
We don't, we just accept it, which for some reason YOU take offense to. You don't have to like it, and liking it or not has nothing to do with canon.

Who's this we? You're defensive about it like a transgender when asked about their gender. >canon
If it can't fit with the games, then it doesn't belong, it doesn't fit with the games before it, it doesn't fit with the games that came during it, and it doesn't fit with the cames that came after which still have lore that dates as far back as Metroid 1986. There's an odd one out here and that odd one out is the Magazine Z manga.

If I had to guess, it's because the Manga goes over Samus' origins, which aren't really explained in detail outside of Other M, while depicting her in a more favorable light than Other M. It is a guess though, since I haven't actually played Other M myself.
So does the Super Metroid comic, all anyone needs to know is that she was orphaned on K2L, raised by the Chozo, enhanced by them, trained by them, and then joined the Federation Army before leaving and becoming a bounty hunter. It doesn't need a detailed explanation.
Sure her origins don't need it any further explaination to set up the games. But that doesn't mean they can't be explored (even though there was probably little demand to do so). And most people who read manga seem to find it enjoyable at least.
Barely anyone but weirdos read the manga, 90% of the fanbase didn't read some obscured Japanese exclusive manga and I doubt even the Japs barely cared to read it.

Who says it's canon, give me an interview from both Japanese Nintendo and Sakamoto where they state that it's canon?
Still waiting for the one where they don't, and further, the explanation why despite them confirming it's not canon they still follow it and stick to it's plot.
So the only thing you reddittroons have for its canoncy is that it's canon because "I" say so? That's all that needs to be said then, the manga is officially not canon to the games and is a different universe of Metroid.
Audio version of that Sakamoto interview. >“あの、この漫画を描くときに僕は監修していますのでこの、まあ、ある意味漫画という表現のサムスであり、メトロイドの世界のいろんな話が描かている”
Which translate to >"Oh, I supervised when they drew this manga, so this is Samus, in a sense, the expression manga, and various stories of the world of Metroid are drawn."
Sounds like the manga is just a canon "event" basically it sits on the same line as the Prime series where it's its own universe that the 2D games can sometimes reference or retcon and ignore
This should end the argument now all of you shut the hell up, you ruined the thread with this homosexualry.
We knew this from the start but the shitposters refuse to accept it, even posting accurate translations as proof somehow of the opposite of what the translations are saying.
>Stop caring about what the story is about you're supposed to just like Metroid because of amazonian women's which Samus is not but I still think she is because of Nintendo power
Drink piss
You're already doing that, even Sakamoto just tells you to shut up and enjoy others expressions of Metroid. Just remember the 2D games events supersede everything in the series.
No even sakamoto is telling YOU that the manga is canon and that he was in charge of it. Get it through your thick skull.

Sounds like you're hurt, keep crying schizo, 2D games are the highest form of canon in this series and what they say goes so if there is a contradiction it will either be ignored, corrected, or retconned. Only 2D games can contradict 2D games.
Don’t know why there’s such an argument about it. I know NoA doesn’t hold as much weight as NoJ, but I remember an interview with one of the senior localizers calling the manga Samus’ official backstory or something like that.
That was a NOA guy, Nate who wrote Prime 1 but Nintendo rewrote all of his stuff because they contradicted the 2D games so I wouldn't take anything he says to heart.

Anything that isn't a 2D game is a canon event. What this means is that the event happened but not the way the Prime games, manga, or Other M described or showed those events. If there is a contradiction with the 2D games, those contradictions will be fixed. The latest 2D game is the most canon over the other 2D games in this case, Dread is the most canon Metroid game out right now and it can only be superseded by Metroid 6.

If Metroid had less story, we wouldn't need to debate over something being canon, because it wouldn't even be an issue. This is what happens when you try and suck up to Hollywood.

If Nintendo/Sakamoto weren't so hard press on it, then this debate wouldn't exist. Nintendo redid all of Prime's lore and even manuals because the writer fricked up and made multiple contradictions to the 2D games. They even corrected the timelines of the Prime games when the Prime Trilogy artbook screwed up the years. Nintendo also replaced the Federation insignia and changed the Prime Federation to the main series one with the Galactic Police and Galactic Army.

Speaking of mindbroken Metroidgays here’s one now.
Metroid is such a weird series for me. I played it as a kid but then at some point "grew out of it" and then stopped caring if Metroid ever got another entry or not because imo the formula had been exhausted, and I thought the constant whining of the fanbase was annoying as hell. Metroid was just never one of those series I carried an autistic obsession for into adulthood unlike some other series.
But then Dread came out and I beat it twice along with finally finishing AM2R like 5 times, with two of those runs being 100% Fusion difficulty. And that's the blogpost I guess. Dread and AM2R are peak 2D Metroid I'm sure you guys agree.
This is still some of the most aesthetically pleasing official art I've ever seen. I regret not preordering the deluxe edition back then, I could stare at the Dread art for hours.
i've beaten metroid prime 2 recently, i enjoyed it (especially the bosses), although some enemies were pretty annoying and i often skipped combat when i could
prime 2 is better than 1 because it has a more interconnected world, 1 was awful in that regard
how does prime 3 compare to 2 and 1?
honestly the Emmi were the worst part of Dread. I really enjoyed the game, but the Emmi missed everything that was good about the sa-x with their specific gated areas and relying on instant kills instead of just overwhelming force. I know that the sa-x has "limited" ai but it could easily be built upon.
The EMMI sections are great. On a first playthrough they are tense and force you to learn to learn their areas to avoid being caught. And on replays they are great to speedrun and just blast through them as efficiently as possible.
>tense
knowing you are safe outside of specifically walled off emmi areas weakens the tension significantly. with SA-X sure you know on later playthroughs that it's going to happen in certain spots but the first time through it doesn't bother warning you that it's going to be rape time.
Gotta say, I’m having a hard time following why people are arguing so much here. I’ll simply say that I consider the 2D games, the Prime series, Other M, and the manga all canon unless explicitly said otherwise.
The story in Metroid games has always been pants-on-head moronic, no matter which games you consider canon. I wish people would actually talk about the fricking games.
>Want to play Metroid Dread >Have to pay for a 500 dollar console for it >I don't want to play any other games on that system besides Metroid Prime for >Which, at this rate is going to be on the Nintendo Same
You get diagnosed with stage 4 autism, you're not legally allowed in public spaces without a handler, so you spend most of your outside time at the mental hospital.
You meet Samus there, and she seems interested in you, purely because your name is Adam, how do you seal the deal?
I miss TUUUUUUUUBES.
I miss shit holes being remodeled

Hot
The absolute disrespect towards Kraid in this fight.
I always think it’s funny how fast this scene goes, it even skips the sound effect and shot of the rail holding Kraid up being shot
Chief wouldn’t take even one energy tank off Samus, the tech disparity is extreme.
What an ugly game
>no catheter or compartment
Reminder that based on the length of the original game Samus peeing her suit is basically canon.
Of course, she does, the suit just recycles it and her shit whenever she takes them.
Recycles into what?
Also girls don't poop
nutrients
Wrong, the suit clearly turns poop in missiles. And pee powers the power beam.
>girls don't poop

I agree with the other anon, post your nose, israeliteberg.
You are living the dream.

Samus is for Pikachu (or Jigglypuff) only
WRONG, SAMUS IS FOR LITTLE MAC
little mac is for samus would be more accurate to the power dynamics here
Can a non-lewd Metroid thread exist in modern Ganker? I wouldn't bet on it.
>Can a non-lewd thread exist on Ganker?
No
Okay, people ask who would win between Samus and Master Chief, but how does Raven Beak stack up against Halo antagonists?
Raven Beak would probably be equal to the Didact, we also don't know who the strongest of the Endless will be yet. He'll probably do well against the Flood as long as his suit isn't damaged. With Chief and Samus, they would be equal, especially post-Dread Samus given that the process of her becoming a Metroid was stopped completely by QR-X
Samus can shit out mini nukes, black holes and solar flares.
Master chief would be quite fricked. Especially if the grapple beam gets axed for grapple lasso as it should be.
>Actually using 343i lore
Lmao frick off

Haha, bird magic go brrrrrrr.
I imagine it often
Christ that is the ugliest fricking render I have ever seen
What moron thinks this looks good
Halo 5 fans
All these images felt like bullshit to me. Realistically there's no actual way that Samus could fit in and operate these suits unless it involved dislocating all her limbs or something.
She mostly fits it in Dread, the suit's arms are longer than hers though and the helmet is too small, basically, the same problem that Master Chief's suit has.
That's a problem with pretty much any power armor. If you look at cosplays or the like, it becomes immediately obvious that the proportions are fudged for the sake of a cool design.
Pretty much
The suits have always been rule of cool, trying to actually fit Samus into it is dumb because it heavily slenders it and makes the proportions less cool. It's what happened with the Dread suit.
I don't get it. The OP image clearly shows her fitting into the suit.
>Biomagictech suit made by bird people who ascended to a higher plane of existence
>People try and have it "make sense"
Always weird how redditors keep trying to say Samus should realistic troony proportions when Samus is a glorified magical school girl that summons a suit but in space
>People try and have it "make sense"
To a degree. Mind you, the suit could just turn her into a giant Dyson Sphere instead of an armoured knight, as that would be abstract.
technically she isnt transhuman but a chimera since she has different DNA strands in her
She isn't a chimera either. A chimera is a person with two different, distinct and complete genomes. Samus is a modified hybrid.
I actually really like the color scheme here, too bad it's associated with troony GARBAGE
it really is unfortunate, pastels and rainbows predate modern ideology wars but now are associated with some moronic people, a shame
I genuinely see those colours, especially the trans ones and think of disease, aids and open flesh wounds. Makes me feels sick.
Rainbows are so fricking cool and I’ll always hate gays for using it as their symbol. I don’t even know how it’s supposed to represent gay people.
The mentality of "shes a cool woman space warrior, she must be gay" pisses me right the frick off. Fricking "progressives" leaving a trail of noxious slime on everything they touch
Agreed. I hate the LGBT so much.
>walks like a woman
>wants to be a mother
>is attracted to guys
>wears make up
>keeps her hair long
Why do the lgbtq+ think Samus is a troony or a dyke who hates men? It's shit like this as to why I hate homosexuals/trannies.
>this schizoid silent serial killing and planet destroying mercenary is part of OUR community
thanks for posting this,
you are actively creating more and more people that hate trannies and homosexuals,
and that also support /misc/,

what are some good metroid clones?
metroidvanias have drifted quite a bit from the metroid formula at this point
Playing through Prime 1 with the Prime Hack thing, this is pretty fun although mouse aiming feels kind of pointless when you can lock onto everything
Shit's way easier than I remember it being as a kid
well yeah, mouse aiming is going to make the game way easier. It's why Metroid Prime Trilogy motion controls also makes MP1 and MP2 way easier.
Not just the mouse aiming but in general, everything feels easier. Enemy AI, bosses, etc.
Cringe fanart give me zero suit or give me death
brainrotted coomer
The main issue with the proportions has always been the chest and shoulders. Even the much slimmer Dread Suit wold require Samus to straight up dislocate her arms to realistically fit the onscreen proportions. You either gotta cope with LOLBIRDMAGIC, or just don't think about it too much.
Samus shoulders don't go in the orbs but again, the suit's arms are longer than her arms, everyone just goes with she fits the suit and calls it a day.
think of the orbs as sleeved shoulder pauldrons (cause they are) than her actual arm going through them like a glove

Replayed AM2R and Dread not too long ago to scratch the Metroid itch, had a good time. Honestly though I'm just on copium that we'll get some news about Prime 4 sometime this year.
Why isn’t she black?
Wasn't it proved that Samus was trans?
samus... isn't actually real...
your parents want you to come back
No. Shut up.
I can't help but feel like scientists are always bugging her for a DNA sample, cause they want to study how the hell she hasn't collapsed into a pile of goo.
why would sammy be med? she's white with blonde hair
It's a reference the Mercury Stream. Like how East-Asia is a reference to Nintendo
I'm med and I have blue eyes and blond hairs
>White

>blue eyes
>lmao asian and ~~*other*~~ dna
these tests always screw with the results.
forgot the 1% ashkenazi israelite
Wtf, is that actually true?
no, you newbie
stop listening to the schitzo /misc/tard
>newbie
I wish
Enter the noose troony israelite
Nothing about what I said is political, it was mere facts about why Jap devs write White characters as "hapa" even though they don't look like it. This is common knowledge for people who play games, which you don't do of course.
the joke is that it's all of the game developers who have worked on the metroid IP, tard boys
False. No party of the chart says Yeehaw yet Retro Studios is based in Texas. Seriously though, if they weren't taking the piss, then man they are dumb.
>white
>blond hair
>blue eyes
Samus is American, her originally being based on American actresses proves this, plus Japan always makes Americans white with blond hair and blue eyes.
>because he is canonically 100% White. Instantly makes him uninteresting to Jap bugmen.
Seems pretty similar to the way /misc/ will complain anytime they make a character black.
Next you're going to say that Tifa looks 100% white.
Would Irish come up as "Northern European"?
>all the morons wondering why there's no USA in this
Have you morons never seen a heritage test before?
That was Wu? Holy shit. I don't even need proof, I instantly believe it because that "woman" is fricking insane.
He chopped off his dick and changed his name from Brian to Brianna, of course, he's insane, all lgbtq+ people are.
And yet Samus retains all her Fusion weaknesses in Dread. Care to explain that?
I have a better idea, Fusion was such a shit game, maybe you morons should forget about it and skip it.
>while also regaining her Mawkin
lmao you have no idea what you're talking about and you literally just proved it
Play Zero Mission, dipshit that was the first game to start establishing tribes within the Chozo and set the stage for Samus Returns and Dread.
Zm didn't really establish that, maybe the manga did but I didn't read through that fully, I don't remember different tribes being a thing. Metroid games didn't have different tribes until prime with the tallon IV chozo and the 2d games wouldn't get it till dread
>manga
Frick off with that non-canon shit only made to promote the games IN JAPAN. We're talking about the games, homosexual, try to keep up.
nothing about that image implies there are different tribes, in fact the chozo are exactly the same
>manga
>non-canon
ZM has literal shots from the manga
>ZM has literal shots of blah blah blah
Shut up, Sakamoto even called it non-canon. I don't even understand why someone needs to make a video of this shit for morons like you but here it is.
You never take supplementary material seriously, you mangatards also seem to like to ignore that a lot of this shit was already established by not only past games before that shitty manga but also non-canon American comic books.
>45 minutes of a youtuber stating inconsistencies and interviews as a reason why the manga isn't canon despite the fact that the same thing can be said about any sakamoto metroid game after super
I'll pass, ZM has shots from the manga, you can keep coping.
>You never take supplementary material seriously,
then I certainly hope this wasn't you posting
>I'll pass, ZM has shots from the manga, you can keep coping.
Keep crying that your manga isn't canon, even Chozo names don't match up with game names. Was Old Bird always old?
>Dragon Ball
Are you fricking moronic? Metroid is a video game series.
"Old Bird" is in the Super Metroid comic, I guess that's more canon than the games too, huh?
>"Old Bird" is in the Super Metroid comic, I guess that's more canon than the games too, huh?
ZM/the metroid manga repurposed elements from that comic and made them canon, so yes parts of that comic were materialized as canon. But nevermind that, the fact is that they're in the games
Magazine Z manga didn't make shit canon, Metroid made things canon, Metroid II made things canon, Super Metroid made things canon, Metroid Fusion made things canon, Zero Mission made things canon, Samus Returns made things canon, Dread made things canon. Prime series is more canon than the manga because Sakamoto works with that series as a supervisor.
The only one shitposting is your troony ass bringing up that manga, why are you so defensive on that piece of shit?
>Zero Mission made things canon
yes it made the manga canon, which was later reinforced with dread. What's your point? The manga is canon
>contradicting piece of shit
dread contradicts fusion, fusion contradicts metroid 2, other M contradicts the entire series yet those are canon
It made it non-canon since Samus stated that she first met and fought Metroids in Zero Mission with the Federation being the ones to discover it on SR388.
It contradicts EVERYTHING
contradictions =/= non canon in terms of sakamoto's nonsense, like I said each of his games after super have some sort of contradiction (except SR I think), yet they are canon, this includes the disaster of other M's plot inconsistencies
>sakamoto
Guess who you need to talk for anything Metroid?
Why did you leave out Other M?
This is why people hate the manga, unfortunately because they hate other m.
In this scene Samus is FOURTEEN and seeing ridley again after last seeing him eat her parents and then try to eat her. She later overcomes this fear and decides to help the universe.
In other m she killed ridley like 4 times but still broke down like when she was 14. That's why people hate it, and they apply it to the manga even though it's a different scene set in a different time that shows how Samus became a badass rather than making badass Samus look weak
I hated the manga before Other M, I hated the Other M because of so many reason but one of them because it felt like the manga on steroids.
>it felt like the manga on steroids.
if anything feels like the manga, it's zero mission. You know, the game that has story elements from the manga in it you fricking moron
Where at, Samus acts like Samus in Zero Mission, meanwhile in Other M she acts like a scared moron like that manga.
>The manga isn't good but it shows Samus becoming strong, so, it's NOTHING like other m.
Samus was already strong, she didn't need to become strong and by the time she's an adult in that manga, she still acts like a weak tard. She's stoic and for the most part taciturn.
>Where at
Old Bird was first canonized in Fusion, redditroons. Sakamoto was the one responsible for Fusion and Zero Mission and he said the manga is not canon.
>Old Bird was first canonized in Fusion
proofs?
The manga was literally made FOR zero mission at sakamotos request.
More autistic shitposters have tried before you, you're NOT gonna do whatever it is you think you're gonna do with this bait.
Some troony trying to shit on me already posted it
.
>at sakamotos request
Where is the interview that states this, I want a site and it can't come from wikitroid.
that image is from ZM you moron
That image came from the Japanese version of Fusion, Nintendo added it to the American version of Zero Mission with the GBA links, shows how much you know.
that fusion image is also in ZM, it's also only in the JP release of fusion which came out several months after the NA release and incorporated the manga elements into it
>Still acts like a weak moron by the time she is an adult
Explain this point. I'm not taking the piss, I'm geniunely curious about your perspective.
Samus is a young teenager in the entirety of the manga until the very end where after a time skip it covers zero mission. He thinks teen Samus is adult Samus because he's moronic.
Gets beat down several times, needs help from daddy Gray Voice, needs to screen when killing Ridley, doesn't shut up. Sakamoto already confirmed she's stoic and in both Metroid and Zero Mission she acts like herself.
She becomes stoic as an adult in the manga.
She's not stoic in the manga, she's stoic in the games, I don't think you understand the meaning of stoic.
I do. It means she's serious, quiet, contemplating, stoic. She's that as an adult in the manga.
It means she barely expresses and she's quiet and professional only talking when she needs to.
Yeah, I just stated this
.
So you agree, she's stoic in the manga AND after liking it so much, Nintendo added manga scenes to fusion for the Japanese release.
Thank you for agreeing with us, it's so refreshing in a sea of bait.
>So you agree, she's stoic in the manga AND after liking it so much
Shut up, reddit
She had to retreat once against Ridley as an adult. A fight that she did in the base Power Suit. I think the Grey Voice thing is a bit of a Dues Ex Machina, but I wouldn't describe her as whining for him. She does talk a bit, but that's probably a natural consquence of showing her outside of battle. She doesn't really lose her cool in battle until she shits herself during the first Ridley encounter.
The only time she came in contact with Ridley before Zero Mission is when she was a child and he destroyed her homeworld with his Space Pirates.
That's not correct. She hears about the space pirates attacking Zebes when she is 14 and goes off to fight them. Then she gets there only to find that Mother Brain is actually aiding them. The Zero Mission Encounter happens years later, after the Space Pirates entrenched themselves in the planet.
Dread Chozo hieroglyphs in Ferenia say otherwise along with Zero Mission's opening.
That's NOT zero mission you moron. She's not 14 during zero mission, this is BEFORE zero mission
Zero Mission open states (from Samus herself) that the last time she was on Zebes it was peaceful, the last time Zebes was peaceful was when she was a child being trained by the Chozo as a warrior, after that she left. This is her first time coming back to Zebes after it became a Space Pirate base.
It WAS peaceful, when she returned the wildlife was blood thirsty and extremely violent, hence her remark
Her return was on her Zero Mission, you can not fight Sakamoto
. It's over.
We were talking about the manga's chornology, specifically because I asked an anon to explain a part of the manga that he took issue with. Unless you are a different anon than who I originally replied to, I don't know why you are bringing up Dread
I took issue with the whole damn manga.
>“Well, I was series supervisor when the manga was drawn, so... Well, you could say it's a way to express Samus in manga format, and depict varying stories about Metroid's universe."
From the god of Metroid himself, Sakamoto.
This video is in spanish and this is what Sakamoto says translated into english.
Now please provide proof that Sakamoto and Nintendo said Magazine Z manga is canon because right here, Sakamoto has said otherwise.
You fricking moron. Guess what, I DO speak spanish and the timecode you have it on begins with the text reading, "yes, I was in charge of the creation of this manga and I think the world of Metroid and samus' personality were well transmitted".
You absolute fricking imbecile not only is he saying it's canon, he's taking OWNERSHIP of it's creation
Sakamoto gave the answer in Japanese and what I posted was his answer. Seems like now you're trying to flip what he said. What he said was translated from Japanese to English so eat shit. You also got that from a Spanish to English translator site.
In other words, STILL him taking ownership and saying it's canon.
I literally don't know how anyone can read that and think it's him saying anything else. I mean, he's LITERALLY saying it's canon right there
>I have proof the creator said the manga isn't canon, in this video he's saying he oversaw it's creation and that it did a good job of capturing metroid, but it's in spanish so this is a translation
>I know spanish and he confirmed exactly what you said, that he was around for it's creation and liked it
>No no no that's not correct, that video is bad I don't know who posted it but a better translation is the one where he STILL takes ownership and calls it canon
What are you even trying to do here?
lel you posted a video of sakamoto saying the manga is canon and saying he made it
He didn't make it all
>“Well, I was series supervisor when the manga was drawn, so... Well, you could say it's a way to express Samus in manga format, and depict varying stories about Metroid's universe."
Yea, but I asked you to explain why she was still a weak moron as an adult in the manga. You said that she got constantly kicked around as an adult to which I replied that she only lost to Ridley once as an adult and had to retreat, due to still being in her Power Suit. And the thing is, I was actually wrong. She didn't even lose to Ridley, she just got wounded after fighting Kraid.
Yes, Kraid, an enemy she always crushes and pisses on.
She still defeated him, she was simply wounded after doing so. Also what about the presentation of the Kraid fight in Zero Mission implied it was an effortless victory, besides it being so for a relatively skilled player?
Furthermore, when she encounters Ridley, she shits all him. It was an easier fight than Kraid.
Every Metroid game that isn't the first say otherwise. She seems to actually try with Ridley vs shooting Kraid in the mouth like it's just a usual Monday.
I meant it was easier in that due to her upgrades, she struggled less against Ridley than she did with Kraid, due to not having any. Still, it is a fair point that Kraid hasn't really been a hard boss fight for players past the first game.
I had to read through the Ridley fight to make this point, and yeah, she does talk a lot during it. Way too much imo. Like, I get that she might have more to say than usual, given the scenario, but even still. While I think the idea was sound in theory, the whole "successors" plotline of the manga is fairly weak in general.
Pretty much
or roll
Meant for
She was 14, not sure why you guys forget that. She's 14 there, when she fights him AGAIN as an adult during zero mission she keeps her cool, having overcome her fears when she was 14
That's a poor excuse, the Mawkin training ironed out all those annoying human emotions.
She didn't have mawkin training, she had mawkin dna. And she doesn't lack human emotions, that has never been samus, she's just REALLY autistic
Warrior training is Mawkin training, both Thoha and Mawkin tribes were present on Zebes.
I think you are getting me confused with someone else. I was replying to an anon that claims that she acted incompentently as an adult due to constantly getting thrown around. I pointed out that she only really lost a single encounter against Ridley as an adult, and that was pretty much because she hadn't even gotten the Varia Suit yet.
I'm not confused, you are. She's 14 there. She has not ever lost an encounter with ridley as an ADULT until other m
You're right. I thought her she got the Varia after getting beaten by Ridley again, but it was actually just because she was wounded after fighting Kraid. But that means that she jobs even less as an adult than I thought, so I don't know how that other anon came to the conclusion that she was constantly getting her shit kicked.
Because everyone confuses that part for zero mission, but she's 14 and a weak little baby
Those instances were seperate in my mind. I just thought that her walking off wounded after the Kraid fight was actually her getting beaten be Ridley again because she fought him without the Varia. Like, I guess I just imagined an entire fight that didn't happen or something.
I think you're having a mental breakdown.
How is it bad to show how a strong character became strong? So what if she was already strong, we didn't know how she got that way, now we do. And as an adult in the manga she's not weak. She's a big tough badass who is literally game samus. She doesn't speak, does her job and does it without hesitation.
She's NOT an adult when she leaves the birds, she's an adult at the end when she saved some guy from an assassin and Adam sets her out on her "zero" mission
The manga isn't good but it shows Samus becoming strong, so, it's NOTHING like other m.
Sakamoto was just a moron who tried to ape the manga in a game set far far far far past that time and it didn't work
>THEY'RE NOT CANON
>here's an image of metroid manga characters in dread
>DUUUUUUR SUPER METROID COMIC
frick off moron, you write mini essays about metroid's lore when you don't know anything about it
It ain't canon, you're trying to put that contradicting piece of shit above the source material, the games.
It literally contradicts NOTHING and I bet that when you finally tell us what about it you hate, it'll be something that's got nothing to do with the manga
You have to be extra stupid and extra up your own ass to be like this
>But the logo is different!!1!!1!2!2!112!
So fricking what? No shit it's not 1 to 1, who gives a shit that it doesn't LOOK the same, that doesn't affect the story at all.
And if you're one of those morons who think it makes samus look bad like other m, you're worse than the brain dead imbeciles who disregard important things they don't consider them important
old bird and grey voice in the background
It was stuff shown in Jap Zero Mission strategy guides.
yeah not in game, different tribes were established with prime 1 in terms of the games
Good job not understanding the conversation.
I don't think you understood it, like I told him, shut up.
stop replying to trolls
have a nice day, you troll, you don't understand jackshit about the lore and keep making shit up out of your ass, when did Fusion fricking say she was no longer weak against cold, fricking when?! TELL ME, NOW! If you don't know shit about Metroid lore, do me and every else here a favor and just shut the frick up.
I can explain it, sakamoto can't tell a straight story to save his life and each new game introduces large plot inconsistencies
There you go. Series needed to continue despite Super finishing the story.
Dread's lore fricks up Zebes lore so badly that I'm still trying to figure out the hieroglyphs in Dread but Chozodia in Zero Mission didn't help things.
I wonder what Raven Beak's role in Samus' childhood was. Like I know that they won't explain it further, matter of fact I like that the only part the explained was that she has his DNA, but part of me wonders if he was involved in her life past that.
I'm so confused on how Zebes and ZDR relate.
I think you may be right.
Forgot to mention, I think the Metroids were just violent towards Raven Beak because he was evil. Samus's Metroid powers don't react to other Mawkin.
I thought the Thoha programmed the metroids to be hostile against the Mawkin after their betrayal
Reminder that Samus and Indominus rex share the same backstory and are both genetic monstrosities.
You just reminded me of the time Samus was in Monster Hunter... for some reason.
When she stops being a crypto grifter.
Give it back, Capc**t!
never ever with rise on pc.
Nintendo will not let their ips on other systems. Same shit with fortnite.
this gay tongues Black person anus.
that image just hit me with a huge wave of nostalgia
How long until she gets the role of samus?
Nice thread
I miss Metalforever's old art style. His new stuff's technically better but it's very sterile and, dare I say it, downright soulless.
I like the Metroid Bread meme. It's wholesome.
Do you guys think Samus ever actually eats bread. Was that in her bird alien parents' menu?
Absolutely. Samus baking fresh bread as a hobby is on the same level as her playing the double bass. Strictly speaking, it's not canon, but we all pretend it is.
>you're in the park tossing bread to the pigeons
>Samus, Old Bird, Grey Voice, and Raven Beak flap down from the sky and start munching on the bread, too
Where does all that bread go?
based axel-rosered poster
There's nothing based about Axel Rosered.
no problem

If you could choose between a Prime Trilogy HD Collection or a Collection with all the pre-Dread 2D Metroids, what would you choose Ganker?
Por que no los dos?
>Collection with all the pre-Dread 2D Metroids
No contest, this
GBA games getting added to Nintendo Online is more likely than Gamecube games so I'd go with the trilogy
Not that I'd ever pay for that shitty service obv
I want the 2D games.
unless they do something to the 2d metroids to make this new collection worthwhile I'd take prime trilogy any day of the week
samus returns on switch would be nice
You will live long enough to see Samus turned into a black trans woman
nah, but they will eventually gut her breasts, and redditors will cheer
Her breast size has changed in every single game she's been in
yeah but in each iteration they are notable, what I'm saying that the day will come where she is largely flat entirely. I think that's a way more realistic prediction then Nintendo ever letting her be a troony or whatever
Nah yeah, this is a dumb take
Nintendo is too autistic about protecting the image of their characters to let them ever stray away too far from their origins.
*that'll
Prime 4, if it's real and exists, will absolutely be the best selling Metroid game of the franchise. Saying that won't have any impact is naive.
IDK if it'll be the best, but it'll be close to 3 million thus give dread a good run at least.
prime4 will be next year either way so chill.
Prime has more AAA feel which appeals to casuals, it has more widespread appeal so I will be shocked if it doesn't outsell Dread.
There's no reason not too, Prime always had more widespread appeal then 2D Metroid (I don't agree but it is what it is, there's reason why normalgays didn't understand why Dread was called "Metroid 5" and thought they were skipping over "4")
That was Prime 1, even Prime game after never came close and Prime 1 got surpassed by a 2D Metroid game.
*every
Prime 2 sales make sense, usually sequels on the same hardware have diminishing returns in sales. (Super Mario Land / Wario Land is a good example of this). You also see this with Zero Mission which sales tanked. Though some Switch titles are breaking this trend by selling MORE despite being sequels.
Prime 3 is the better example, which was still outsold by Fusion, but that's due the Wii having a weird market where the casual of casual games sold crazy yet other more hardcore titles were not as great as you'd think considering the install base.
Halo 2 outsold the original Halo on the same console, Zero Mission was a remake, so was Samus Returns, neither were expected to sell Fusion's numbers, Prime 2, Hunters, and Prime 3 should have sold more, if Dread would have released for the DS all those years ago it would have completely outsold Prime Hunters.
>troony post
>best selling
It will sell well, but best selling is jumping the gun.
You know that Metroid Prime is the number 1 best selling and number 1 highest rated (by users, not journoisraelites) Metroid game of all time, right?
Smash and Prime have no say in the 2D games, the 2D games are law, that's final.
Nah, Samus will be gender-flipped.
Meh
you groove you lose
I see your Tallon Overworld 2 and raise you
if you get the space jump boots early, jump on the spike to get the magmoor grappling challenge early, and jump on a few tree branches in phendrana depths you cut most of the backtracking out of prime making it a similar experience to SM
Early Plasma was the real power trip. I love how Thardus is immune to the Ice Beam, but super weak to Plasma. Works great on Sheegoths too.
Why is Samus weak against neck grabs?
Windpipes are vital for Power Suit users.
Very little armor on the neck duh.
It only has that black connective material which most likely only good for some insulation plus sealing the suit so nothing gets in/out and lets it be survivable in space.
Why the Dread Suit so good?
Accept your helplessness.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Did you guys actually like Dread? It just wasn't very fun

But I'm not Russian.
You're a Euro
I personally wouldn't have sex with Samus. All that alien DNA is scary.
>not wanting to add your DNA to the mix
Step it up, anon.
Why does movement in dread feel so fricking good for a 3D game?
>198lbs
Fatty.
Why is her suit so fricking hot?
Eh? That’s not the Phazon Suit
tough women = monkey brain like
Not her. The suit.
tough woman = hot
tough woman in suit that makes her tougher = MORE hot
WHERE IS IT??!
isn't it supposed to launch this year
Oh, you want to play old games on the new console, and would happily pay for them? WELL FRICK YOU. We're Nintendo, b***h. We will make legally purchasing our games a giant hassle/impossibe, and then sue you into oblivion when you pirate them. And you'll like it, like the little b***h you are. Now kneel down and suck this motherfrickering dick.
>you want to play old games on the new console, and would happily pay for them? WELL FRICK YOU.
Why yes, nobody else do this.
Goddamn I miss the Virtual Console.
Friendly reminder that they WILL reveal that Sylux is Samus' long lost brother Solomon Aran in Metroid Prime 4. Family drama kino is back on the menu, boys.
Even though Japan doesn't care too much about Metroid, all of their commercials are so fricking kino.
Don't die
>tfw 6'5 and absolutely MOG Samus
When are they going to canonize double bass?
>no metroid roguelite a la noita
This would actually be pretty cool. Make it like Rogue Legacy; if you die the run's over, but you can gather resources/some form up upgrades (hp? armor?) that makes your next run easier.
Also Samus is properly buff and confident like a badass bounty hunter should be. If the color scheme triggers people they'll just have desaturate the image.
Just play Super Metroid Arcade
Play it. It's pretty cool.

Me too anon. I hope we at least get him in the next Smash game, he's the perfect character to become playable

I’d be okay with it if he looked like that.

If she is 6'3" and 200 lbs, the Smash games really don't do Zero Suit Samus justice. She should look like an amazoness.
Smash has never done Samus justice, she's just porn fanservice in Smash.
>American reverse psychology to make the US more likeable
But Astolfo isn't trans.
We'll be remodeling your shithole
Okay but what does her human form look like when her suit turns into a ball
Y'know, she shouldn't even be able to raise her arms like this.
Think about it. She raises her arm, where the frick does that giant shoulder mounted ball go? Right into the helmet. So now she has to bend her neck to the side to accommodate her arm but wait! The other giant should mounted ball is in the way! Can't raise her arm anymore.
what if metroid got fat haha
Wait, so she is canonically futa?
I will buy your game now.
When will we get a 3rd person shooter Metroid with this movement? What's taking so long for Nintendo to do this?
Put Tanabe on it
not anytime soon, the bitter taste of other M is still in people's mouths
This is literally just Other M
No, it's not literally Other M. The camera in Other M is very different from this one...
metroid blast from Nintendoland
All 3rd person shooters suck. It would have to have a lock-on.

Reminder
I thought it was power suit vs fully powered suit
>people still think she's an amazon because of the fanfiction nintendo power
lmao
I put her Dread models in Blender, she's an amazon alright, she's just an inch shorter than the Power Suit.
I dunno, looks a bit shorter than an inch, and even less when you consider she's wearing heels.
Canonically this puts her around 5'9-5'10 at best.
penis
Yes, that might as well be what amazon gays like
>not even insulting the guy just stated that she's tall out of the suit now and about an inch or two shorter than the suit
>goes full troony schizo mode
Look man, I know you're a manlet but stop acting like a b***h, you make us men look bad.
>now backtracking and saying "or two"
lmao
That is not 2 inches no mater how you slice it, that's easily 3, unless you think the length of Samus's nose in proportion to that gap is like 1-1.5 inches inch long
>I know you're a manlet
Ah, so you're one of these homosexuals who likes to RP like he's a 7 foot gigachad and that he would totally dominate an amazon instead of being one of the emasculated shitposter poster homosexuals for the fetish.
Yawn
It does, but that doesn't really change anything since the suit itself is 6'3. Her previous suits in other games still have a bit of heel anyway.
The lack of texturing here really makes it look as if the Power Suit has heels.
Samus got big hands.
The Prime games have always been known for their stellar visuals, which is why I'm worried they will turn the graphics up to 11 and go for a smooth and silky cinematic frame rate this time.
is there anyway possible to make Samus's armor anatomically correct while also making it still look cool?
I'd kill for a spinoff game about the Mawkin
Samus is NOT 6'3, now shut the frick up and drink your juice
t. manlytears
The twist was pretty good and I like how as much as you hate adam during the game, it turned out it wasn't him the whole time
>want to get better times for better end screens but that involves learning the game to the point where it's not exploration anymore but routing and following the same path every time
Wait, so why did the manga even come up? Aren't you nerds talking about the different Chozo tribes? That isn't even referenced in the manga anyways.
>We don't
You do
>we just accept it
Who's this we? You're defensive about it like a transgender when asked about their gender.
>canon
If it can't fit with the games, then it doesn't belong, it doesn't fit with the games before it, it doesn't fit with the games that came during it, and it doesn't fit with the cames that came after which still have lore that dates as far back as Metroid 1986. There's an odd one out here and that odd one out is the Magazine Z manga.
>If it can't fit with the games, then it doesn't belong, it doesn't fit with the games before it, it doesn't fit with the games that came during it, and it doesn't fit with the cames that came after which still have lore that dates as far back as Metroid 1986. There's an odd one out here and that odd one out is the Magazine Z manga.
by your logic, ZM, fusion, dread, and other M are not canon so the point is moot
Those games including the pile of shit that was Other M and even the Primes all hold lore from Metroid 1986 that wasn't retcon yet you telling me the Magazine Z manga couldn't stick with a storyline that's been there since 1986?
>think
I don't need to, the video I posted already explains everything without a mountain a green text
.
Who doesn't consider Other M a canon "event"?
Other M contradicts every single other metroid game, I wish I had the image saved explaining it
Thus why Other M's a canon "event"
Because it breaks your narrative, you trannies hate hearing the truth.
>Other M contradicts every single other metroid game, I wish I had the image saved explaining it
thanks m80
No one is watching the video. Explain yourself or frick off
You're still not explaining why you think it's not canon other than it being paper and that fact makes you mad.
Explain yourself or frick off
If I had to guess, it's because the Manga goes over Samus' origins, which aren't really explained in detail outside of Other M, while depicting her in a more favorable light than Other M.
It doesn't matter if you don't like it or if no one ever read it, it's still canon and part of the process, a story they will not ever get rid of, just add to, like with dread where they added to the MANGA story
Who says it's canon, give me an interview from both Japanese Nintendo and Sakamoto where they state that it's canon?
no one sucks the manga's dick, the reality is that it's canon, same thing with other M
Wouldn't it be more comfortable and useful to have some kind of full-body undersuit while wearing power armor like that?

>Trolling outside of /b/
I'm still waiting on that Japanese Nintendo and Sakamoto interview confirming the manga is canon.
Still waiting for the one where they don't, and further, the explanation why despite them confirming it's not canon they still follow it and stick to it's plot.
So the only thing you reddittroons have for its canoncy is that it's canon because "I" say so? That's all that needs to be said then, the manga is officially not canon to the games and is a different universe of Metroid.
>doesnt have proof Nintendo confirmed it noncanon
Then shut up
I want a Samus droid with a built in heater so I can cuddle her for warmth outside in the winter.
>ITT: shitposters and regular users alike keep mistaking an event in samus' youth as zero mission and/or other m
Audio version of that Sakamoto interview.
>“あの、この漫画を描くときに僕は監修していますのでこの、まあ、ある意味漫画という表現のサムスであり、メトロイドの世界のいろんな話が描かている”
Which translate to
>"Oh, I supervised when they drew this manga, so this is Samus, in a sense, the expression manga, and various stories of the world of Metroid are drawn."
And frick you.
Frick you for ruining the thread, you canongays need the bullet.
And I noticed you didn't deny being an amazongay, you're all like this.
Sounds like you're hurt, keep crying schizo, 2D games are the highest form of canon in this series and what they say goes so if there is a contradiction it will either be ignored, corrected, or retconned. Only 2D games can contradict 2D games.
can't believe it took you this long to understand that the manga is canon, now frick off
>"event"
2D games supersede all
Don’t know why there’s such an argument about it. I know NoA doesn’t hold as much weight as NoJ, but I remember an interview with one of the senior localizers calling the manga Samus’ official backstory or something like that.
That was a NOA guy, Nate who wrote Prime 1 but Nintendo rewrote all of his stuff because they contradicted the 2D games so I wouldn't take anything he says to heart.
>the manga is canon
>b-but the prime games aren’t
>w-w-wait I mean that the manga is r canon either they’re all split timeli-
Shut the frick up you canonlet homosexuals, the only game that contradicts the LINEAR timeline is other m
2D games are the most canon, everything else is under them, that includes Other M.
>SR brings Prime into the main series canon
>schizos lose their minds
You lost.
That means the events are canon, they may not have happened the way the 2D games would have described them but they happened one way or another.
There is no split timeline, there is only prime canon (2D) and canon events (everything else, despite Other M having Sakamoto as Producer and Director, Samus Returns and Dread makes it a canon event thankfully).
Everything is canon and that's all there is to it. The manga is canon, the Prime games are canon and even Other M is sadly canon. Every other take is just copium from people who want to build their own fanfiction with only their favorite parts
>This is what happens when you try and suck up to Hollywood.
Dumbest take anon, the first Metroid wouldn't even exist if not for Alien, the movie it's an homage to. It's not about sucking up to Hollywood, it's about cool settings being enhanced by a cool context surrounding them
>Other M
>cool
You are so mindbroken that you took Other M from a post that doesn't even mention it. At what point exactly was it said that Other M did it right?
Other M wouldn't have existed if not for the stupid story they tried pushing. I'd gladly sacrifice the whole series if it meant that game stopped existing.
all the stories Metroid had were in the manual. The only games that really tried to push a story were:
Prime 3 (which was alright)
Fusion (which was okay)
Other M (hated by the fanbase in every aspect)
Dread
>Prime 3 and Fusion were okay
Come on anon, are you seriously defending gigantic hallways with no exploration or freedom/ Did Metroid REALLY need segments where you're locked in a room and told to listen to some computer babble on for hours? We did not need elevator monologues either.
>Dread
The stupid cutscenes objectively made Dread worse, like the pic you showed off. "DUDE SAMUS IS SUCH A HECKIN BADASS!!1!!!"
I don't really care. It's another boring marvel movie cutscene. Just let me get back to the game.
>objectively
Opinion officially irrelevant and dismissed
the guy you replied to thinks all cutscenes are bad and tries to pass off his trolling as objective fact
>the guy you replied to thinks all cutscenes are bad
And this is wrong... how?
you can't tell a story through 100% gameplay.
Hell, the Souls Series have cutscenes
>you can't tell a story through 100% gameplay
Gradius: I'm about to do what's called a pro-gamer move.
I agree about the cutscenes. A metroid game needs to be a lot more subtle and atmospheric. Metroid Prime understood that despite being a fully 3D game.
Me likey Samus being a badass.
>three point landing
Worst example of a cutscene you could have posted.
Speaking of mindbroken Metroidgays here’s one now.
what can ya do anon, other m mindbroke us metroidgays bad and some of us never recovered. this split timeline stuff is just sad cope.
Good, now let's get back to more Raven posting
And how big is Raven Beak? He's easily twice Samus' size
THE BABY!!
y cant metroid crawl?
Because she prefers to slide!
This is still some of the most aesthetically pleasing official art I've ever seen. I regret not preordering the deluxe edition back then, I could stare at the Dread art for hours.
Here
Mommy breasts with a nice ass
Imagine being a smoking hot well built virgin woman who is dangerously autistic and obsessed with a dead man who's now a computer
I can imagine since the opposite sex has the same issues.
If samus was left alone she would probably be a serial killer by now instead of the galaxy's savior
Ditto for the Chief
I want to be crushed by those thighs
Dang, I didn’t know Samus was part giraffe.
Because her arm cannon is too bulky with nothing to grip/pull her weight forward.
i've beaten metroid prime 2 recently, i enjoyed it (especially the bosses), although some enemies were pretty annoying and i often skipped combat when i could
prime 2 is better than 1 because it has a more interconnected world, 1 was awful in that regard
how does prime 3 compare to 2 and 1?
honestly the Emmi were the worst part of Dread.
Lorehomosexualry is the worst thing to happen to games, Halo is a great example of this when it comes to the fanbase. I just want a game series again.
>Want to play Metroid Dread
>Have to pay for a 500 dollar console for it
>I don't want to play any other games on that system besides Metroid Prime for
>Which, at this rate is going to be on the Nintendo Same
Feels bad man
>500 dollar
Which turd world country are you from lad
Also just emulate Dread
You get diagnosed with stage 4 autism, you're not legally allowed in public spaces without a handler, so you spend most of your outside time at the mental hospital.
You meet Samus there, and she seems interested in you, purely because your name is Adam, how do you seal the deal?
Show her my model ship collection
ACtroon is here, abandon ship
