I think I've seen like 2-3 people at most complaining about Samus being "too cool". It's really not a common complaint, so it's likely not going to go away, and honestly I don't really mind. Samus SHOULD be non flinching on seeing things like Kraid roaring in her face or calmly pointing her gun at a mutated scorpion like enemy.

Yeah but you never get a chance to appreciate the enviroments because AC6's combat is much faster paced and the environments are way more open to facilitate the booster-mech combat. There's no puzzles, no scanning, it's not a first-person adventure game where you're intended to explore and take in the world by yourself (isolation is an importan aspect of prime), it's a mech-arena game where you fight other mechs and have a b***h talking in your ear at all times.
The enviroment might have a somewhat similar aesthetic but it's not the whole experience.
AC6's experience is nothing like Prime's.

That doesn't mean you can't take a moment to appreciate the sheer scale of everything. Half the game feels like that moment in Prime 2 where you see the Sanctuary Fortress for the first time. It's just breathtaking because it shows a marked improvement from the more cramped areas of previous games.

Akshually there's tons of scanning. It's not close enough to reach Prime levels of scanning, but there are secrets and hidden goodies to find in the world if you're willing to explore and scan for them. Alot of the game's hidden content is based on these things infact.
And really, I don't see anything wrong with wanting Prime 4 to take cues from AC6.
I hate Other M because it made the suit some kind of emotional magic suit that disappears if Samus is scared enough. It should just be pure hardware that needs to be blasted off with explosives, not some sailor moon deal where it dissipates if Samus cries hard enough.
I'd like Fed Force much more if it played like an actually good squad based shooter, like Republic Commando.

The Metroid prime experience is unique but mostly because its contrived and antiquated, I think prey covers almost everything prime does but is much more sophisticated in terms of setting, narrative and mechanical density.
The one thing prime does differently is the morph ball shit that adds a unique layer of interactivity to the environments but if id have to choose a style of game to kill off and one to succeed id choose to continue the immersive sim x metroid shit in prey.

The trailers' purpose was to show that, fundamentally, this is Metroid Prime. It's not Federation Force, it's not Dread or Other M, it's Metroid Prime. I think they succeeded with that. What I don't like is that I feel like the game is missing something visually. The game lacks a certain pop and life to it that the originals were able to convey despite also being highly atmospheric space themed games. That's what I got from the trailer and I hope I'm wrong.

Eh I like it. Tallon and Aether already proved Zebes isn't and shouldn't be a codifier for the kind of environments Samus can explore. I think at this point the only places that should be strictly banned are heavily populated places or on the front lines of Galactic War (Outside of like intro stages of 3/4) because Samus is obviously not Master Chief. I'm not saying games should have lots of cutscenes. I'm just saying the point of video games isn't just to be challenging.
The entire point of a game is to present you a challenge to overcome. This is a universal constant. A sports game will have the finals where you face off against a better team, a platformer will have far trickier parkour, an FPS will usually throw in stronger enemies. If there's no upward momentum of difficulty, then it just leads to stagnation.
What about, say, Animal Crossing or a game like that?
I consider Animal Crossing a game in the same way that I consider Uncharted to be a game. Basically low hanging fruit for millenials who want to play Farmville or Cookie Clicker.

When I see a moment like that, it's just so boring. I'm not in control, I'm not at risk of dying, the game is basically on autopilot.
I do think the moronic spectacle moments are Nintendo really trying to hammer in the "LOOK HOW BADASS SAMUS IS!!!". It just feels forced in my opinion.

I had some hopes that Metroid Prime 4 could expand the audience in a big way and make Metroid a big series, but from youtube views that clearly isn't happening. The game still looks great though and I'm sure I'll enjoy it.

The development of this game is so weird. Gets cancelled and shifted to retro because they apparently had a prototype that impressed Nintendo enough they would be willing to completely trash all prior work, 5 years later they release a half baked trailer that looks like an early pitch video for a boring remaster.

Their internal 60fps demo looked better than bamco singapores 30fps ue4 build is my guess, metroid prime is known for visuals and performance and a shitty team like bamco singapore could deliver neither.

I love the 2D metroid games, and I love looking around at the world in Prime. I even stopped to screenshot and upload some neat landscapes when twitter was still integrated into switch

its an acquired taste. For me I hated it when I first played it then randomly got a craving to play it again since its unlike anything else, then for some reason I liked it. I like prime 2 more than 1 though because its more of an intricate puzzle box which is really the only mechanical thing prime does well.
objectively speaking, the combat is shit, the story is shit, the characters are goofy, but the music, aesthetic and puzzles are good.

I'm telling you that a "victory lap" is a moronic concept in a video game. You shouldn't be given a break until the end credits. Until then, every single thing you fight and encounter should be bashing your head in with as much force as humanly possibly. That's why I firmly believe that every parry in the game should be like the EMMI parries. You don't get "free damage" from them. You get the privilege of not dying horribly. And if you fail, you instantly die.
That's how every single parry should function. Punish the bad players who don't have good reflexes. Don't coddle them with free damage.

I want them to add the energy draining and charging from prime 3's grapple beam and make it actually effective to fill an enemy with energy to blow them up and maybe able to use it like a whip (hold grapple button and press stick in direction to perform a delayed whip in a direction).
If they added some more reason to use each of your abilities in combat without it always being required for a given enemy, e.g. causing stagger effects on enemies / bypassing defences in exchange for being harder to land, I think that would be pretty neat.
Some of the coolest stuff in metroid games is seeing how enemies will react to different abilities, and finding hidden weakpoints.
Prime already had a certain degree of that, so if they can lean into that (e.g. if I can do an overhead whip attack on a small enemy and actually hit, it will get launched into the ground).
Other uses could be to bind an enemy with the grapple beam, at the cost of being unable to maneuver around properly when bound to it, and then use up energy tanks to shock the enemy to cause overtime damage and prevent it from breaking free with electricity damage.
If they integrated consuming energy tanks as part of the general mechanics, I think that would be pretty cool in general. It doesn't have to be like hypermode. You get many more energy tanks than you require in these games, it would be nice to have another use for them as an overclock for energy based attacks (I would hope they would cost quite a bit though, and not be overcentralising).
