Actually worked in the corporate world during Trump's time. His presidency caused our organization to shift from mass importing Indians to work in the main office and instead "insource" Indians to corporate owned subsidiaries in Bangalore. It didn't fix the job loss issue, but the office did stop smelling of curry and shit for a time until Biden came in.

This shit happens no matter what half of the uniparty is in power. Yes, even when your god emperor was in power. It's allowed to proceed unmitigated because you're all moronic and get caught up on politics instead of focusing on the root of the issue and attacking that.

This is all the redundant staff like HR DEI ESG and support that MS already has plenty of on there own.
Video game division is just because its studios in the video game umbrella.

      Prove it.

/pol/tards and other invalids will point towards this being because of ESG or woke or whatever boogeyman they've concocted for the day to rationalize their pathetic worldview but it's clearly because of businesses scaling up rapidly and over-hiring during the pandemic. A correction was always going to happen, especially as we're heading into a recession.

It's just the continual decline caused by the Dodge Brothers-caused legal requirement of all corporations to seek maximum profits. Line must go up forever, even if it means firing and outsourcing cheaper replacements right after announcing record-breaking profits.

I still can't believe they spent $69 billion on a shitty company. They could have made their own studios make 690 games for that price. This is made even more ridiculous when you consider how well Palworld is doing, you don't need a bloated company to be successful, you need talented people with ideas.

This piece of shit genre is in more need of innovation than almost anything else but that recent ARK clone doing so well ensures that's never happening.

        Anonymous

Are you implying Blizzard would be the one to innovate the genre?
The same Blizzard that's exclusively produced derivatives of other games and gear treadmills for the past decade?

          Anonymous

No, it was just an observation.
I suppose the closest we've come to the genre feeling kind of different was Subnautica, but you still spend a disproportionate amount of time in that game looking at grid-based inventory of random bullshit.

Blizzard survival game that was announced last year got cancelled https://www.theverge.com/2024/1/25/24050297/blizzard-survival-game-cancelled-layoffs

    >“Today’s actions affect multiple teams within Blizzard, including development teams, shared service organizations and corporate functions,” Matt Booty, head of Xbox Studios, said in a note to staff. “As part of this focus, Blizzard is ending development on its survival game project and will be shifting some of the people working on it to one of several promising new projects Blizzard has in the early stages of development.”
