It's easy, all of them were an alliance against the Golden Order at first. The Rennala branch of the family because Radagon leaving had destroyed their family and made their mom go insane, the twins because Marika had refused to even look into a cure for Malenia and told her to shove it.
Then once Marika broke the Elden Ring and all hell broke loose, after a bunch of years their alliances just fell apart as the power void became more and more tempting (Elden Lord throne empty, Ranni who had been the brains at first and was the most obvious candidate was either still dead or in hiding leaving them without a clear leader, Miquella decided Radahn should be it, Malenia got jelly, Rykard might have tried to do the serpent stuff to gain an upper hand).
Morgott is the only one who had tried to hold on to the status quo, and he resisted long enough for them all to stop allying and pressuring him because he had Leyndell from the start, the most defensible location. Which would also explain why we saw Radahn fighting him in the first intro video. And Mohg might have seen an opportunity to get his own stake despite not being part of the initial alliance by trying to frick Miquella.
This all completely fits with GRRM writing too, good ol' siblings war over an empty throne.
Its also of note that their was an alliance in Leyndell after the shatter that lasted for a shot period of time and we know that when this alliance was broken the Golden Lineage was on the besiegers side.

His first phase seems pretty simple, mostly Radahn sword swings with the movement of Godfrey (and his stomps).
But once he puts on the twink cape, he gets fricking nuts. He's shitting out lasers everywhere and does arena spanning light waves and shit.
Malenia's first phase is definitely harder. And malenia does crazy shit in her second phase as well and there are people who didn't beat her (without using the cheat tear) for 100-200 tries.
I just don't see it. Maybe reviewers are moronic and wrong, but harder than Malenia?
Malenia's difficulty comes from 3 specific things:
>1. Her Healing on hits which fricks up people with unoptimized builds. You have to either avoid getting hit or have enough damage to be able to block and hit back more than she heals
>2. Waterfowl Dance. Like, that alone fricks over 80% of the players that can't figure out how to dodge it
>3. Scarlet Aeonia. Again, not knowing how to properly dodge it so she doesn't cut off the entire arena with rot is big deal
Radahn in the video so far doesn't seem to have that degree of "frick you", but he's got some things that may make him really hard.
His tracking was being memed about, but if you look closely fricker ZOOMS to you before he attacks. He's going to be hard to shake off to recover
His attacks also probably hit WAY harder than Malenia's. Where you could survive some of her slashes without much issue, I'm sure Radahn will chunk half your health each hit
And, as a major thing, Radahn is a big boss. The type that can't be flinched by attacks. Malenia could at least get some knockback, but Radahn will likely be powering through every hit until he poise breaks.
Malenia blatantly cancels into combos in a way that no other game in the series allows enemies to do. She makes shields obsolete and has 2 attacks that are extremely hard to dodge. I don’t know how you could make a FromSoft boss harder than that. She’s simply unfair.
