Like, the absurd amount of HP was my only problem. The gimmicks and mechanics themselves were easy to follow, and if theres a game like it but with 8-10minute fights I'd play the frick out of it.
hp is scaled to 1/2/3+ players. chargeblade and greatsword shit out damage but are different weapons in multiplayer as they rely on monster aggro to work effectively.

MHFU was okay for the time in terms of content for price, but the game was and is shit and youre just nostalgic. The hitboxes and jank are just too unforgivable, the AI is pathetic and the game boring as sin
MHTri was good but lacking content massively
MH3U was peak maps music and monsters, weapon and armor design, but had shit balance
MH4U is fine but had shit endgame
MHGen is garbage and is just quantity > quality personified
MHWorld is the best technical game undeniably, but is lacking in too many smaller areas to truly be the best, good step though
MHRise took that step and fell over, following MHGen into the worst of the worst in the series
